The end of the year is always a busy time, and this year Destiny City is no different! Thankfully, the city seems to have things under control--for the most part. You can't always guarantee a peaceful Winter Holiday, but at least things will be interesting! This year we've brought back some old prompts and brought in some new ones. More information can be found in the Ticket Opportunities and RP Prompts! Our artists have been hard at work to bring us some stunning new characters, and players have a chance to win a character in our Rehoming Concept Contest. Roleplay Opportunities will be open from now until ~6 PM EST on Sunday, January 8th, but players can use roleplays started as early as December 1st towards their ticket and prize claims. The raffle will be rolled after a ticket list is compiled and winners will have 72 hours to contact the shop mule, The Space Cauldron, with their preference list. Anyone who does not respond within 72 hours will forfeit their slot. Information about what the requirements to claim a prize, as well as a list of prizes, can be found below!

Rules and Information All players are eligible to participate in the Winter Holiday Event and can earn Tickets for our Raffle and a Individual Participation Prizes. Players who are over Character Cap cannot win new powered art in the raffle, but they can win Alternate Civilian outfits. Civilian outfits must be used for existing characters, not new characters. Players who are on cooldown can still win new art; prizes won in the raffle do not go on any character cooldown. Players entering in the Rehoming Concept Contest cannot be at or over cap.
Up to five raffle tickets can be earned for writing 500 words in any roleplay or solo; players do not need to use event prompts but can earn a ticket for any roleplay or solo started as of December 1st, and that has at least 500 words as of 6PM EST Sunday, January 8th.
Characters can participate as powered or civilian; these prompts are free to play with. You may choose to use the prompt as inspiration for a roleplay; it does not need to follow the prompt exactly but it must be clearly inspired by or related to it in some way!
If you are a new player who is interested in joining, please remember that you can get your first civilian character for free! Information can be found here! If you need help setting up a profile, you can PM The Space Cauldron and we'll be able to work with you!
Roleplay opportunities will only be open from now until ~6 PM EST on Sunday, January 8th. At that point in time, the raffle list will be finalized and we will begin rolling. Players will have 72 hours to submit prize preferences, and winners will be announced at the 72 hour mark or as soon as all winners have sent in their preference list.
All other shop rules apply during this event. Have fun!

Ticket Opportunities and RP Prompts
Ticket Opportunities
Tickets can be earned from any roleplay started from December 1st until 6PM EST Sunday, January 8th. Roleplays or solos do not need to be finished but players must write at least 500 words to earn a ticket. Players do not need to use event themed prompts, but the shop has provided a few for inspiration, including some refreshed legacy prompts and some new ones!
Players can earn up to five tickets for the raffle. If you want to write for a prompt for requirements, or just for fun, that’s fine! To claim a ticket, you will need to fill out the following code and post it in this thread! I AM CLAIMING A TICKET Link to thread: [link to the thread you are claiming for; if you are responding to a prompt, make sure you indicate which prompt you are responding to either in this form or the thread!] PromptsAll prompt responses must be posted in the Mini-Event subforum and can be written as a solo, a regular, or a battle (if applicable!). These should be labelled [Event-S], [Event-R], or [Event-B]. If you roleplay a disposable, these will not count towards any growth requirements for them, but if you are roleplaying with someone who has a disposable, it can still count for growth for your official character. To be eligible for any prizes, you must write at least five hundred words per roleplay. You should include the prompt you are using in the first post of the RP or Solo. The roleplay does not have to be finished to count towards a prize (unless otherwise stated) but it will need to be finished before it can be used for growth requirements. While these events are written so that you only need a civilian to participate, you can play a powered character! In addition to a few new prompts for this year, we are recycling some prompts from previous years so characters who didn't get to participate before can experience them now! Please remember--prompts are meant to be inspirations for your roleplays. You do not have to follow them completely, but the roleplay or solo should be obviously inspired by or related to the prompt you are using. Legacy Prompts:Quote: Prompt 1 (Diamond Dust): This time of year, snow is common. What’s uncommon is the single, strange snowfall where each snowflake that fell glistened like tiny diamonds. For the most part, the snow seems fairly normal—it’s cold, wet, and melts just like any other snow, it just also happens to look like tiny little gems are falling from the sky. Depending on who you’re with, it’s either incredibly strange, or incredibly romantic. When the snow is coming down at its strongest, crystalized snowflakes trickle down with the rest of the snow. These are roughly the size of a quarter and are light and hollow. They are fragile, like glass, but glisten like a fine cut gem. No one can explain this anomaly, but these small snowflakes won't melt. And they are all over Destiny City. You can find them gently falling to the ground, or lying in the fresh fallen snow. There doesn’t seem to be anything particularly magical about them, but they are beautiful and make pretty keepsakes. Quote: Prompt 2 (Snow Spike): Ice and snow? Fine. Hail? Slightly less fine. Large, icicle-like shards of ice falling from the sky? Horrifying. For no apparent reason, Destiny City is plagued with another strange phenomenon, only this one can strike at any time. The icicles plummet from the sky with no warning, regardless of a clear or cloudy sky. The spikes range in size from a few inches up to two feet. Sometimes only one might fall, or sometimes a torrent of them, but they never fall far longer than a minute at a time. Some have reported a strange green lightning in the sky just before the icicles fall, so there seems to be at least some warning. Injuries and damage have been reported across the city, so it’s best to stay vigilant and hope for the best. Quote: Prompt 3 (Holiday Blues): One day, in the very early morning hours, a strange, bluish fog rolls in. It floats low to the ground and is incredibly dense and incredibly cold. Anyone who inhales even a single breath from this fog will be met with a sudden, harsh sensation of sadness. It’s the worst part of the holidays—the Holiday Blues. The fog slowly spreads through the town and is gone by mid afternoon, but the sensation of sadness, loneliness, and nostalgia may linger for longer than that. Scientists are explaining the bluish tint as just being a natural phenomenon, but in Destiny City, ‘natural’ isn’t really something anyone should expect. Today would have been a good day to stay inside. Quote: Prompt 4 (Flurries and Flowers):Strange snow flurries have been blowing through town, frosting entire buildings. Sometimes they come out of nowhere--overnight, or in the timespan of just a few short hours. Sometimes, only minutes. Snow falls rapidly and ice coats doors and windows, sealing them shut. These snow flurries are knocking out power, and worse--trapping people in buildings and cars. Sheets of frosty ice build up quickly and have caused major inconveniences. But, it’s not all bad, if you can find a way to appreciate the small things. After these flurries, in addition to the fresh snow and ice, beautiful flowers in the shape of snowflakes have sprouted up, too. They grow in small patches and permeate a pleasant, sweet fragrance. They can grow on any surface, as long as it is covered in snow or ice. If the flowers are not kept in freezing temperatures, they melt, but for the duration of their lifespan they are beautiful, fragile things. Quote: Prompt 5 (Snow Fairies): On a cold winter night, when the moon is nearly full and bright in the sky, you hear laughter. At first, you can't place it, but then you feel little pokes and prods, tugs on your hair, your clothes. Sometimes you think you see something out of the corner of your eye--a small, icy body. Sometimes you hear wings flapping in the night. As long as you are out in the cold, you feel eyes on you and you find yourself the target of small mischief from what seems to be icy little fairies, though they move too fast for you to see or grab. They never speak, only laugh. When you go inside, or venture anywhere with too much light or heat, they seem to disappear and do not bother you again. Quote: Prompt 6 (Frozen Time): Midnight is a magical time of night; parties, dancing, kisses--there are a number of rituals celebrated in the winter nights. Every night has a midnight, but this one is special. There is an old church and bell tower on the quiet outskirts of town, near a beautiful forest that has been decorated with lights to celebrate the season. Maybe you are alone, maybe you are with friends, or maybe you’re at a party celebrating one of the many events--whatever the case, small, delicate snowflakes have been falling lightly for the past hour. And then--suddenly--they stop. The clock strikes midnight and the bell echoes a low, metallic chime that feels like it can be heard for miles. By the second chime, you realize that nothing else is moving. Snowflakes are suspended in the air and all living creatures--plants, animals, and people alike--are completely frozen. The clock chimes twelve times and the world is still frozen. Suddenly, there’s no way to tell how much time has passed--but nothing moves. Maybe it feels like a moment, maybe it feels like an hour. You can try to leave the area but you can never go far enough that the church is out of sight. In an instant, time seems to snap back into motion. To everyone else, it feels like no time has passed. To you, you know. The church seems eerie and foreboding and if you return you feel uncomfortable, as though you have broken something and are unwelcome. If roleplaying with a partner, multiple characters can remain unfrozen as the world around them freezes! Quote: Prompt 7 (Mysterious Mail): The mail is always bad this time of year, but it seems like something's gone a little extra wrong. You’ve received something that’s not quite right. Maybe it’s a box that looks like it’s from a completely different era, wrapped in brown paper and tied with dark twine. The box has scuffs and scrapes and a yellowed name tag--with your name and address on it. There is no return address and no indication where it came from. If you open it up you will find some sort of timeless item that feels as though it is easily decades old. It may not be particularly valuable, but this item seems to have been lost to time--and somehow ended up in your possession. Any time you look at it you are filled with the same sensation of timelessness. Maybe it’s an old letter with no return address, no name on it; it's impossible to tell who it is from or how it got there, given that it might have arrived in your mailbox, your front door, or maybe it even just showed up inside your house. If you open it, the letter is dated from decades ago and contains some surprising information; it is a letter lost to time and contains some secret. The content of the letter is up to the player; it might contain a confession of love, an admission of guilt, the secret of some crime--no matter what the letter contains, it leaves you with news to reflect on. Do you try to seek out anyone mentioned in the letter? Do you investigate or try to hand the letter over to someone else? Does the content of the letter reflect your life in some way? ...Do you have to worry about someone breaking into your house to leave strangely coded messages? Maybe you’ve gotten both and really need to phone up the post office to see what’s going on. Quote: Prompt 8 (Snowbunnies): Winter seems to bring out the cutest of all rodents; this isn’t the first time that small, white rabbits have infested Destiny City. They’re small, rarely larger than a guinea pig, and have large eyes and wiggling noses. They are always pure white and seem to show up whenever there’s snow. They aren't menacing or evil, they're just everywhere. They seem strangely domesticated; they are sweet, curious, and friendly creatures that will eat anything you give them. They always seem cold to the touch, and when they shake, little snowflakes sprinkle off of them. While they seem to be social creatures who seem to appreciate anything warm and will cuddle up to steal body heat, they are too skittish and fast to be kept for pets. They can show up just about anywhere, either alone or--often--in pairs. They tend to wander off on their own without any trouble, but if you surprise them or try to catch or hurt them, they may bite. Their little teeth are enough to break skin, but after one bite they run away. The bite itself isn’t bad, but the effects are a bit unpleasant: for roughly two days after the bite, the injury is cold and the victim will feel random, cold, shooting pains. Their core body temperature will drop and they will often be sent into random fits of shivering. No medicine seems to help, and no amounts of blankets or hot baths can soothe the chill. You're just going to have to deal with it and hope it gets better… Most experiences with the bunnies are perfectly pleasant, you just have to worry about them burrowing. There are holes peppering Destiny City, and with the fresh fallen snow it can be impossible to tell where they are hiding. The holes range from small holes to several feet deep, so can be a minor inconvenience to a potential hazard. On the bright side, sometimes you wind up covered in bunnies looking for warmth from their sudden guest. On the other hand, there are a rising number of trips to the hospital for twists and sprains. The bunnies always leave with the snow, so best to enjoy them--or avoid them--for as long as you can. New Prompts:Quote: Prompt 9 (The Snowmen) : Destiny City has no shortage of creatives looking to take advantage of the snowfall, so the snowmen popping up around the city are not so surprising, themselves. It’s how often you keep seeing the same snowman. Maybe someone’s making identical snowmen across the city, but there’s just something off about it. Sometimes the same snowman will be facing a different direction than when you last looked at it, or maybe it’s moved altogether. Sometimes in what seems like the blink of an eye. It never moves while you’re watching it, but when your eyes aren’t on it, there’s no telling what might happen. It could be someone playing a prank on you, but why? And how are they getting away with it? The snowmen can’t be moving on their own, right? It doesn’t help that when the weather warms a bit and they begin to melt, they morph into hideous, frightening monstrosities. Somehow, even those seem to be stalking you, right until they completely melt and disappear. Quote: Prompt 10 (Hostile Garlands) : Festive garland has been hung all around the city. Destiny City has never skimped on their decor, and this year is no different. What is different is the way some of the garland seems to slither around the poles and arches it's hung on. Maybe it looks like an optical illusion at first, or maybe it’s just so strange that it doesn’t seem like it can be real, but it doesn’t take long to figure out that that’s not any ordinary garland–it has eyes, and teeth, and it’s the strangest looking snake you’ve ever seen but that doesn’t really matter when it’s attacking you. It is fast, and aggressive, and it blends in perfectly. Sometimes it seems like it’s five feet long, sometimes twenty; it doesn’t seem to have any venom, but its fangs are long and if it wraps around you it can be very constricting. There’s no telling what it wants, but it sure does seem to like to fight. Note: The snake is not a youma but can be used as a battle requirement for a character. It can only be used as a battle if there are two powered characters involved; you cannot write a solo and count this as a battle, and your character must be powered to count this for a battle. If you repeat the prompt with the same character, only one will count for a battle requirement. The snake will always disappear before it can be caught. Quote: Prompt 11 (Cracked) : There’s always a surplus of homemade candy and treats this time of year, and you’ve happened across some gorgeous hard candy. Maybe you picked it up in a shop, or maybe it was a gift, or something you found at a holiday party. It’s sweet, it’s savory, it’s just about anything you could want in a candy. Except, you bite into it too hard and hear a crack. You don’t feel pain, but it seems impossible that this was from the candy and not a tooth cracking. If you check, you’ll find no damage, but for the next few hours, you hear the sound of cracking ice–constantly. When you step on a sidewalk covered in snow, when you pass a glass window. Sometimes, if you turn fast enough, you see the cracks. When you blink, they’re gone. The sound is jarring and alarming, and sometimes you can feel the reverberations of the crack around. It can be disorienting, and every step feels like you might just crack the surface of the Earth and fall through. Quote: Prompt 12 (Little Helpers) : You’ve acquired all the ingredients to make your favorite holiday treat and you’re prepared for a busy day of baking tomorrow. When you go to bed, everything is neatly arranged so you can get started bright and early. When you wake, you smell the distinct aroma of baked goods–the ones you had planned on making. When you investigate, you find that someone had used your ingredients to create your holiday treat–perfectly. Did someone sneak in and make treats for you? Did you bake in your sleep? …Are those tiny little footprints in the flour? Quote: Prompt 13 (Sweet Treats) : There’s no shortage of holiday themed popup shops and specials at your local places, and after a long day there’s nothing better than a nice treat for yourself. Maybe you decided to try something new, maybe it was a gift, maybe you got one of the coupons in the mail to try the place out–however you wound up with this drink, you’re in for a good time. No matter what your preferences are, the drink is delicious. Hot, cold, sweet, bitter–there’s a version of it for everyone. But, the flavor isn’t what makes the drink so special–it’s how good it makes you feel. There’s no alcohol in it, but drinking it can leave someone feeling tipsy, warm, and in a general good mood. Inhibitions aren’t lowered and there’s no negative repercussions for having the drink; it might make children more hyper, but the drink just has the ability to put someone in a pleasant mood.

Individual Participation RewardsSometimes luck isn’t on anyone’s side; this prize rewards participation without any competitive nature! For every five roleplays or solos that reach 500 words, a player can claim one Growth Item or one IC RP item from our regular pool of one time use IC Items, from our current Limited Edition IC RP Item Pool, or any item from a previous Limited Edition IC RP Item Pool (with the exception of any items that were given out as special/exclusive rewards in certain RPs). You cannot claim an IC RP Item or any Item that was winnable in a player run event, however you have access to any IC RP Item given out in a similar staff run event. You can claim up to three rewards through this method! If you participate in ten roleplays or solos that reach 500 words, you will have the option to claim one permanent accessory or enhancement in place of one Growth Item/IC RP Item! For example, if you do fifteen roleplays or solos, you might claim two one time use IC RP Items and one permanent accessory, or you could claim three growth items, or one growth item, one enhancement, and one IC RP Item. You can mix and match what you would like to claim as long as you have the RPs to support it! Any roleplay started from December 1st until the end of the event can be used towards an Individual Participation Reward, but regardless of how many words you write towards a solo or roleplay, or how many characters you have in that roleplay, it will only count for one claim. RPs do not have to be finished before the event ends, but we strongly encourage players to finish them in a timely fashion and not just write until they reach 500 words. Please try to finish all of the roleplays you start! To claim these rewards (growth items, one time use items or permanent accessories) you will need to use the following form and post in this thread: I would like to turn in (#) roleplays for a reward! link Trading for: (What are you claiming? If you are claiming for an RP Item but don't know which one yet, just say 'IC RP Item/Enhancement/Permanent RP Item' ; you can PM the mule to claim your item if you need more time)

Please also remember to edit your claim into your Growth Item Log or your IC RP Item Log log! You cannot gift this item to anyone else! This is for you, and you alone! You will have up until 11:59 PM (PST) on Sunday, January 8th to claim for Individual Participation Prizes! Roleplays must be started between now and then but. They do not need to be finished to count towards Individual Participation Prizes, but they must have at least 500 words posted for you to claim them. Any roleplay started until the deadline can be used to earn Individual Participation Prizes; they do not have to be based on Holiday prompts.
