Guild Community Fakemon Event: Eeveelutions!
Eevee and its evolutions are long time favorites for a lot of the pokemon community. Known for its unstable genetic makeup, Eevee could potentially evolve into any type under the right conditions, but recently pokemon has fallen out of its trend of creating new evolutions for the remaining types that haven't been discovered.
Additionally, the guild is soon coming upon its March Fakemon giveaway, so as a fun guild community event, we're opening up fakemon submissions for Eeveelutions!
The rules of this event are simple. We have a list of unused eeveelution types, and if any type stands out to you as an eeveelution that you'd like to bring into the guild, then create a thread in the Fakemon subforum and start working on your idea. Please keep in mind that the same Rules for Fakemon Creation apply for creating eeveelutions in this event.
If you would like a template or guide for how to start tackling this project, please feel free to use the fakemon creation guide for a nice outline to get you started!
When you've started a thread for that eeveelution, post here in the event thread with the following:
- 1. Quote a mod
2. What type of eeveelution you're working on
3. A link to your thread
4. A list of usernames for anyone who is helping you work on it
List of Unused Eeveelution Types:
- -Steel
-Ghost
-Poison
-Bug
-Dragon
-Rock
-Flying
Once you have finished your eeveelution, edit your post and mark it as finished and awaiting review. This event will be end on March 10th, 11:59PM PST, so try to get your submissions in before then!
Any eeveelution types that have multiple submissions by the end of this contest will then be put to a vote to see which the guild likes more and wants to adopt as the guild eeveelution for that type.
Once the Eeveelutions have been chosen, anyone who helped work on the accepted eeveelutions will receive one at lv 10.
Any types that have not been claimed or finished by then will remain open until the next Fakemon Giveaway in September.
FAQs:
Q: Will participating in this event mean that I can't submit another fakemon for a year/count towards my 3 Fakemon limit?
- A: Nope! Anyone and everyone can submit an eeveelution without worrying about any of that. These submissions are part of this event and will be considered separate from other fakemon.
Q: Do the eeveelutions have to be monotype?
- A: Yes, that way we can support multiple people/ideas filling each type's "slot" so to speak.
Q: Why isn't Normal, Fighting, or Ground type on the list of unused eeveelution types?
- A: Normal type is already essentially taken by a basic eevee, but won't say no if you have a unique normal type evolution idea for eevee. Fighting and Ground types are already covered by one of the fakemon submission several years ago; Meleeon. To avoid redundancy, we took those types off of the list.
Q: Do I have to work alone on my eeveelution submission?
- A: Not at all! Like with any other fakemon, we encourage you to work together with the guild community to help build these evolutions so that you have help bringing your creation to life.
Q: I have an idea for an eeveelution, but someone is already working on that "type". What should I do?
- A: If you want to work on that eeveelution, talk to the person who already started it and see if you can work together or combine your ideas! Who knows, they might like your idea better. If not, and you have a drastically different idea or image in mind, you are of course welcome to make a different submission for the same type, and when they are finished, the guild will put all ideas to a vote to see which the guild likes more and wants to adopt as the guild eeveelution for that type.
Q: Can I submit multiple eeveelution ideas?
- A: Yes, however you can only officially work on one at a time. That means if you start a project and post in this event, you must finish that submission and have it under review before you can start another submission. You can, however, help other groups for other eeveelution types and give ideas and suggestions as one of the helping members for another submission, you just can't spearhead a new submission yourself until you finish the one you have. We want this to be a creative event for everyone to have a chance to shine and participate in.
