[CIVILIAN HERE]
Name: Mariam Estella Tramontana
Nickname: Mary is what she gets the most for obvious reasons, Stella only sometimes. She is Unfond(™) of “Miriam” and any of its associated nicknames due to constant mixup with her own name.

Sign: Virgo/Libra cusp

Blood Type: O+
Fav. Food: Snow cones/shaved ice is tied with Italian ice
Hated Food: Soups; she likes stews and chili, but soups have no
substance as far as she’s concerned

Hobbies:Off-roading/ATV - When the stress of life starts to be too much, it’s nice to be able to go out to the range, the countryside, wherever, with her ATV or her dirtbike and just
ride. She’s never been competitive with it and feels no desire to be, but she’s been at it for a few years now and is comfortable with poorly outlined trails in the middle of nowhere.
Strategy games - RISK is her favourite of All Time, but she does like Civilization and Warhammer, and she can be convinced easily enough to sit down to a game of chess, go, or Catan. She likes to get into the zone and can be quite ruthless at the gaming table. Of all of her hobbies, she is perhaps the most competitive here.
Sculpting - If a game doesn’t work to let her zone out, she does enjoy sculpting from raw clay. She has a studio in her house, a small one with a potter’s wheel, and she’s on first-name basis with the people who run a pottery shop where she has her pieces fired. Modelling clay is also tons of fun, and she tried bonsai once. She doesn’t make anything to sell, but she’s willing enough to talk prices if someone is, for whatever reason, interested.
Virtues: Ambitious - Mariam’s parents are both high-level jet-setting executives, and some of that has definitely carried over into their daughter. Part of it is due to their just as sky-high expectations of her, but Mariam naturally reaches for the top. She’s been raised with the eventual goal of either succeeding one of her parents or starting her own (obviously multimillion dollar) business. She puts in the time and the work to get the top scores and awards, always working toward that vision.
Steadfast - Mariam is very patient when it comes to putting her plans into motion and working towards a desired outcome. She is very hard to deter from her goals and tends to be very reliable when set to a task. One way or another, if it’s important, she’ll get it done. Even if it’s not important, but she would be better served to do it, she’ll get it done.
Principled - There are certain lines that she just doesn’t cross, and she holds to this with an ironclad grip. Peer pressure? Never heard of ‘er. Mariam has a strict set of guidelines she follows, all the standard “don’t cheat, steal, murder” things, but she has her own on top of them. No hitting an opponent when they’re down (unless they
really deserve it). No unnecessary roughness on the field. Don’t involve people that have nothing to do with the argument. She has no problem telling other people when they run astray of those principles, either, feeling it’s her duty to say something if she sees something.
Protective - Of the people that Mariam considers dear, she is very keen on ensuring their personal safety and happiness. She is absolutely the friend that will go beat up your brother/ex/neighbour/whoever if they’re mistreating you. Granted, the beatdown is not always physical, as she prefers to take routes that leave less physical evidence, but if someone she cares about is in trouble, she’s there. Similarly, she is protective of her spaces, boundaries, and routines, and she has no problem asserting herself when she feels like they’re being trampled on.
Flaws: Vengeful - “Eye for an eye” is the simplest way to put it, but Mariam absolutely believes in the power of retaliation. If someone did something to her, why shouldn’t she retaliate to dissuade them from ever doing it again? If someone hurt her or hers or took something of theirs, she will absolutely seek to wreak havoc on them in return any way she can. This can tread sometimes on the very thin razor’s edge of legality, but she’s always careful not to cross that line, at the very least.
Hell-bent - There is determination, and then there is sheer dogged persistence even in the face of evidence that such a course is unwise. It’s not that Mariam can’t be dissuaded, but that it’s astronomically hard to do so. Depending on the level involved, the threat of physical danger itself may not be enough (though, threaten with her parents finding out and she’ll usually acquiesce at that point). Give up? What’s that? Never heard of her. At the end of the day, hell, high water, and wild horses could not stop Mariam from going after something she wants badly enough. She’s been fortunate enough to avoid disaster. So far.
Patronizing - Maybe at the heart of thing she means well, but if Mariam knows more than you, better than you, or is more skilled at something than you, you will know it. She tries to pass it off as confidence, and she is certainly confident, but she has very little patience for people who don’t keep up with her. ‘Surely you can do that?’ is not an unheard sentiment coming from her. She’ll argue that she’s pushing people to be their best selves, unable--perhaps even refusing--to see that she’s doing it in a way that’s more alienating than helpful. When she inevitably pushes someone away because of it, it’s all their fault, of course. If they’d just done what she knew was good for them, then they wouldn’t be having this problem, now
would they?
Possessive - What’s hers is hers and what’s yours is hers if you’re hers. She does have a healthy sense of material ownership, and she’s no thief, but her protectiveness does have a less friendly side to it. There’s defending her friend, and there’s alienating her friend’s other friends because she’s convinced they’re no good. This inevitably leads to alienating her friends when they get tired of putting up with it, which is of course
obviously their fault for not seeing that she just had their best interests in mind. It takes a very specific, very strong personality to keep her from going overboard and keep her from this particularly nasty manifestation of “I know best”. Because that personality also has to have the patience to put up with her trying anyway, it’s safe to say this Venn diagram of people that meet both criteria is very nearly two discrete circles.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
