Super Sailor Monoceros HP: 29/75 DMG: 13 (+1 from Article of Strength bracelet) (+4 from talisman) = 18 Talismans: 0
Damn. He was out of Burst charges now, feeling the strain on his magic just at the thought of using it again. No, he needed to use the Flash again. And the Talisman to boost it. He backed up as the legs exploded and he was suddenly smacked by the back of the hand at the end of its arc, sending him flying and crashing into the ground. <********, that hurt. He wasn't doing so well anymore. He needed a rest. That much he knew.
"Quill Flash," he hollered, lifting his hand and firing it directly at the skull, clutching the talisman and boosting its power.
A burst of porcupine quills flies from Sailor Monoceros's hand, which can cause shallow scratches and/or minor puncture wounds. Any attempt to remove the quills before they vanish will cause sharp, pinpointed pain in the area; however, they don't sink in much deeper than skin-level. A user can choose to have this attack cause permanent damage or the injury will fade when the magic expires. This attack will last 20 seconds and can be used three times per battle.
Considering how much the skeleton was already crumbling, the fact her lungs hurt, and the fact that she had already used up her beam, Viatrix didn't feel particularly like participating in this battle any longer. They defeated the skeleton. Aokigahara got the help they needed.
"Yes please," she murmured, reaching up with her paw to rub at her ear. "And can you not be so loud? Cat ears are kinda sensitive."
"Sorry," was a murmured response from Encke, and she grumbled at him for a few more seconds before curling into a contented ball on his shoulder whether he wanted her there or not.
"Would you mind staying down?" griped Hydor, watching in distaste as the dark, choking smog began to clear up but the skeleton still attempting to hang onto whatever form of life it thought it held. "Go back to being dead."
Hydor attempted to land another well-placed kick for good measure.
The heady feeling disappeared as mysteriously as it came, leaving Basiluzzo to blink up at the skeleton as it began to crumble faster. It didn't make him terribly useful, but he was able to belatedly register Encke's questioning and wave a vague thumbs-up back at him. He wasn't sure what had just happened, but Basiluzzo didn't seem to be any worse for the wear for it--
Encke didn't seem worried, at least, and he probably hadn't been affected.
He backed away from the skeleton, trying to make sure he was away from any errant last-minute hits. He could probably have thrown another rock, of course, but his momentum had been interrupted, and now Basiluzzo was trying to get it back. Difficult, considering it seemed like the skeleton problem was well and truly handled...
She could breathe again, she was pretty sure, but enough of the residual coughing kept her from finding the time or energy to wind up with another stone to launch at the giant skeleton. But it looked like everyone else was able to take care of the last of it. Good. Tikal didn't particularly want to have to throw another rock at it.
Maybe the next time she had to fight something, it'd be against something with flesh, something she could bruise--
The scratches left on Phaethon's ankles effectively derailed him from trying to attack the skeleton again, and he scrambled the best he could to get away from them, from the torso that the skeleton had turned into, from that smoke, and everything else.
Maybe it was almost dead again? That had to be a good sign, right, that it was falling to the ground? Nevertheless, Phaethon and his rocks were not at all keen to stay within arm-swipe distance of the thing.
It was a good thing he was wearing boots, or maybe those scratches would have taken more of his skin with them--

MONSTER HP: -100/1000
Under the relentless onslaught of magical and physical attacks, the monster began to crumble. Tjilaki’s icebergs knocked its hand aside as it grasped to make an attack. It let out a horrid shrieking noise as Encke’s comet smacked straight into its hollowing skull. Enhanced punches and kicks from Cybele, Skoll, Anser, and Imbrium made contact with cracking, crumbling bone, making it snap and slash and struggle, but the beast was clearly coming apart.
Charybdis’s declaration as she threw her infused attack made Aokigahara smile as he approached the last lantern post, sliding his gift from the merchant off the staff attached to his weapon.
The fighting continued as he placed it on its post. The monster reached to grip Scylla’s tentacles, but as soon as bony fingers wrapped around the magic, they crumbled to dust and fog, and Monoceros’s last Quill Flash made a shoulder bone crumble to pieces. Hydor’s foot, even unmagicked as it was, was enough to make the bone it came into contact with fade.
The last lantern rested on its post, and there was a burst of violet light, brightening the entire Wonder, as if it were midday on Earth. It faded, and the skeleton made a rattling last breath, and then collapsed, fully, into dust.
The entire Wonder felt lighter, somehow, as if the pain and hatred and grudges that had lingered there had been put to rest with the monster that had formed from them.
The dark fog the skeleton generated dissipated, and Aokigahara turned back to where the battle was. He wove through the graveyard carefully, returning to where he’d left everyone else, and he was grinning, even though his legs ached and he had to work to keep his breathing even, after running the length and breadth of his Wonder to light the lanterns.
There was something new painted on his face, glowing lines that many of those assembled would recognize instantly.
“Thank you, everyone,” he said, looking out at the crowd. “I...don’t know what else to say. I’m not much one for speeches. But you’ve helped me, and all the souls on this Wonder, immensely tonight. I feel certain that this has made an immense difference.” He frowned, faintly. “Is anyone seriously injured? Do we have healers who might help, if they are? If not, feel free to return home, but—I promise, I’ll remember all of your faces, and I hope to meet you again under better circumstances.”

Thank you so much for participating, everyone! I hope you all had fun!! You killed it very good and i’m very proud.
You can continue to mill around and chat with Aokigahara, but the bulk of the RP is finished and you’re all welcome to make exit posts! Pls hit me up for followup rps if you would like. Thx. <3
Everyone who participated will leave with one charged talisman, which can be used to dust a single unbonded feral youma and cause damage or irritation to stronger or bonded youma. EVIL SPIRIT, BEGONE.
The super senshi grinned wide, wiping blood from her nose with the back of her hand, as the beast fell and Aokigahara came back into view. His face glowed, etched with markings that Skoll recognized as transcendance markings. Honestly, she'd have to look into it going forward; she wanted cool markings too.
She was winded, but the adrenaline of the fight still kept her limbs moving. Hells, she needed to make a visit to her own homeworld after this and see if any beasties rise from the forest.
"Ain't nothing sleep and some anticeptic once I'm home won't fix. Happy to help, Aokigahara. I'm Skoll, by the way, one of the moons of Saturn. Consider you welcome anytime among my forests," she said to him, holding an arm out to clasp his forearm in greeting. "Besides, this was fun!" Leave it to Skoll to think a fight against a giant skeleton with some weird miasma fun.
Cybele's smile grew into something more satisfied as the skeleton monster continued to crack and crumble under the onslaught of her and her allies. Good. It was already nearly dust by the time the daylight flash of the final lantern came through to finish it.
A calmness followed. The lack of the subtle heaviness that had been hanging in the air since they'd arrived reminded Cybele of the moments following her purification. That was good. It was nice that she'd been able to give back and do something to help this place.
Then Aokigahara returned, and Cybele's eyes locked onto his face for a few moments. He was glowing, and when he hadn't been before. Was that how it worked? Purify your world, and it would protect you? The concept, at least, was simple enough.
"I'm happy to help," she said, the comment brief and formal, perhaps because she had something else on her mind.
She turned to the other senshi, her smile faltering somewhat now that the intensity of fighting side by side was over. "Should we go back together?" she asked. There were difficult things to talk about, but putting it off for longer did not seem wise.
The wonder felt better. Felt more like a place she'd actually want to explore than one that belonged in some of the eerie suspense video games she sometimes played. Aokigahara came back and was glowing because of it. Reminded her a bit of the story Encke told about how he got so glowy -- and why she wasn't glowy, yet. Help the place of power, get rewarded for it.
Aokigahara helped his place of power, and he got rewarded for it.
"Of course!" Anser shot him a wide grin. "Think Encke'll be happy to see another transcendent!"
She gestured to her brother with his cat and his husband, if Aokigahara was wondering who she was referring to.
She glanced back to Cybele, wondering why she seemed so ... off. "Yeah!" Anser offered her hand to Cybele. "Wanna catch up!"
Unfortunately for Anser, she didn't quite know what catching up was going to entail.
At last, the skeleton nightmare was vanquished, Scylla's power wailing on dust. Around her tentacles the wisp whirled gleefully, before dancing its way back into Scylla's hair.
"Congratulations, Aokigahara." she said with a grin, "Hopefully you'll have a few less poltergeists running amok from now on." The transcended senshi smiled to the newly-glowing knight. "I'm no healer, but it anyone is tired and needs a quick pick me up in order to get home safely, I am happy to share some of my energy."
A hand extended to anyone who wanted to take it, and Scylla offered the energy of her homeworld to any who would need it.
Oh. Good. It was dead. The skeleton vanquished and people celebrating, Imbrium turned her head to Alphubel, giving the other a tired look. "I'm going home and to bed." she informed him. "Ring me sometime." she wriggled her crest at him. "We should catch up."
Victory!!! Charybdis could feel her legs starting to give out, and nervously looked between Voyager and Ara.
"Glad to help, Aokigahara!" her voice was tired, and she punctuated the sentence with a massive yawn. "You look really shiny now, good job. If you need any help cleaning up, call me tomorrow. I'm a real good cleaner, okay? We can wipe down some of those dusty tombstones and stuff, get the place all sparkly and shiny like you."
But not tonight. Charybdis wandered over to her best friend, grasping at Ara's hand. "Let's go home, okay? I'm sleepy and the skeleton made some gross stinky stuff. I need to smell a chocolate chip cookie, stat."
Monoceros was exhausted. He'd used all his magic fighting this thing. But it was finally over, and there was a kind of peace that settled over the place. He couldn't enjoy it for too long, fearing he'd pass out or something if he relaxed too much. Taking a deep breath, he managed to force himself to find his way home.
