An area for vendors to sell food and souvenirs. There are a couple of tables to sit down and eat at, but there are more tables over at the dance floor

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A Young Blue haired girl with a crimson red tail cautiously crawled out on all fours from the bushes outside the festival booths. Leaves riddled her tangled hair; her eyes were as wild as an animal. She took in the various scents the wind carried to her, the creatures and foods that cooked. She glanced back behind her, her eyes piercing through the leaves at what she left behind.

                A memory….

A young male with raven black hair and an green opal gaze brought young hatchling into a clearing. He kneeled down to her eye level with a smile, [“Tana, It’s ok, you’re safe here, but I can’t stay. I have to make sure they don’t find you.”] The boy spoke in dragon tongue to the hatchling, he gently pet her head as she anxious looked around the unfamiliar surroundings.

The Hatchling shook her head,[“N-no, please don’t! I’m scared! I don’t want to be alone again!”] Tana whimpered as she grabbed onto her friend’s arm with all her might.

“Ow-ow-ow- T-Tana, too much!” He winced as he pulled his arm from her lethal grasp, [“Tana, listen. There is nothing to be scared of. There are good people here.”] He said as he patted her on the head with a smile, [“You can make friends here. I will come back when it is safe. I promise.”]

[“Promise?”] Tana shot a pouty look to her friend who replied with a nod. She looked to the floor with a deepened sigh, as she tried to muster up her courage, [“O-ok…I’ll stay”] Tana agreed as she glanced towards the strange sounds.

[“Good- and Tana, Don’t. Eat. Anyone!…”] Her friend added, the hatchling looked back to see her friend had vanished without a trace. She felt a lonely chill run down her spine as she began to slowly move towards the noise; It’s ok! She motivated herself as she continued to move herself forward to were she was now.

                ..........

The Hatchling directed her gaze over to the festival. Her eyes curiously followed each passing creature. She thought back what her friends said about making friends. The thought brought a warm feeling to her heart. Her tail slowly swept the ground behind her as she slowly crept closer in the shadows of the tall booths for a closer look. Her stomach released a low growl as the tempting scents that filled her small nose; Wow, that’s this, that’s this? She wondered as she peered around the corner to watch the creature at work with the wonderful smelling food. Her eyes grew wide with wonder as she carefully moved closer to a small tray of meat pies cooling on a ledge. She was about to reach for a pie when she heard voices near her, her scales stood on end and she quickly darted off into the shadows with an empty belly. She shot icy glares to the group of creatures that approached the booth before she ventured off for more food.

She followed a promising smell where she detected minimal presences around. She came upon a large rack that was stocked with many delicious pies. Her growling stomach encouraged her to reach for the first pie she could grab. The Hatchling had been on the run with little time for rest and food. The delicate crust crunched in her hungry grasp, and sticky jelly filling goosed down her arms. She lapped up what she could before she reached for another with a more delicate grasp. She quickly chomped down on more pies. Crumbs and berry pie filling rained down from her hands onto the floor and into her lap. Her tail brushed across the ground behind her.

Chaosura Kiaku & Chao Jiao-long

If you face down because you’re going to fall/You won’t be able to see the universe

The sounds of excitement amongst students, their family, and faculty, there was a duo amongst them that was enjoying things leasiurely. Towering above a majority of the students and teachers alike was an elderly man whose hair had yet to fade from black to grey. Dressed in the formal attire of the nation of Drappon, was the recently hired history teacher Chao Jiao-long. His movements somewhat slow, his eyes scanned over the vendors who had showed up for the welcoming event. Having been here for roughly a month, he was finally reaquianted with the layout of the school he once attended as a student himself. "My! Quite the array of stands they have set up here. They even brought in dishes from the Icelands," He said as he began to stroke his beard. There were far too many choices for one old man to decide upon, but that is why he was depending on a certain someone to make a choice. "What do you say Ki?" He asked, looking down beside him.

At his side, was a small child. Appearing to no more than maybe ten, the boy scanned the area with his emerald green eyes. His somewhat messy looking spiky blue hair bouncing as his head darted around, he seemed to be lost in wonder. Dressed in a similar manner to Jiao-long, the boy was obviously the man's grandson. Of course, it wasn't by immediate relation or anything. His tail swaying back and forth as he sniffed the air, the jade scales shimmered as light hit them. "Grandpa! I smell something fruity!" He exclaimed happily, looking as if he was ready to take off running towards the smell. That was actually very accurate to say for this individual. Chaosura Kiaku, the adoptive grandson of Chao Jiao-long, was a very hyper active child and more than a handfull for anyone other than the elderly man. "Can I go find it? Please?" He asked politely, his tail making a swooshing sound as it began to wag like a dog's.

His dark brown eyes locked onto the smiling and excited face of his grandson, Jiao-long let out a soft sigh. "Fine, but whatever it is you find, you must bring back to me as well," He said as he presented a small coin bag in front of the boy. Gesturing towards some tables not too far away from where they stood, he found himself grinning. "I'll be waiting right over there. So don't keep this old man waiting for very long. Got it?" He told the boy with a bit of a chuckle hidden in his words. As he eased the coin bag into the boy's palms, he stepped back as he knew what was about to happen next. Standing firm as he watched the youth begin to stretch, he knew far too well this was going to be dangerous for someone, other than him. Smiling as the kid jumped up, he was quick to take off running around the venue at a stupidly fast pace. The sounds of people getting startled by the speedy shrimp ringing out, he turned away and went over to the nearest table and sat down. "He'll be fine...probably," He assured himself as he began to hopefully short wait.

Moving through the crowd after the scent of food, the youngster's movements were far too fluid. Making quick turns and sidesteps as he followed the scent, he didn't really pay much mind to those who were freaked out by the frequent near collisions he was making on his trek through the vendors. It didn't take long before he had arrived at his destination. Coming to a skidding halt, he nearly crashed into a teenage couple before he made the last second decision to turn and jump towards his target. Sending himself soaring over the the stall on accident, he landed behind it. His feet making first contact with the dirt, he nearly stumbled as he forced himself to stop. His legs shaking for a moment, his tail rose into the air as he winced in a little bit of pain. Realizing instantly that he went a bit too far, he was quick to turn around to face the stand. However, what was before him, was not what he had been expecting.

His eyes stopping at the sight of a small girl, who was absolutely covered in crumbs and fruity filling. His tail ever slowly drooping as he realized he was smelling her meal, he seemed almost disappointed. "Oh...Grandpa isn't going to like thi-," He began to say, before something caught his attention. Watching her tail move around, his eyes lit up instantly. Making a frantic dash up to her, he plopped down on the ground beside her and began to examine her tail. "It's like mine!" He exclaimed as he reached down and grabbed it. Gently holding it, it felt almost exactly like his. Lost in his own excitement, this was the first time he had seen someone else who looked humanoid and had a reptilian tail. It was something wonderous and new to the boy and he had no idea how to express his intrigue and curiousity other than to examine it.

The Hatchling put her feast on hold as she heard something race towards her, but before she could even release a warning growl it had her by the tail. Tana’s body froze into stone as she felt the creature’s hands rub a press against the crimson scales on her tail. She felt like it went on for minutes when only a few seconds had slipped by. A tingling ticklish sensation shot up her spine towards her head. When it reached her face, her skin changed to bright pink hues as the energy that rushed up her spine escaped in the form of bellowing pink smoke from her nose, and mouth, “Gao!” She shrieked. The energy expelled, her body began to move as she lightly squirmed from ticklishness. When she managed to regain control, heat radiated from her body, flames dancing in the back of her throat. With a bright red face decorated with sticky pie crumbs on her cheeks she quickly whipped around, pulling her tail from the creatures grasp and face it head on. [“Yo-yo-you-?!”]

She paused when she noticed his curious gaze, not the normal eyes of a vicious attacker. Gray smoke seeped from her mouth as her flames were extinguished. Shortly after she noticed his green tail with a small gasp, [“You?What?...Same?”] She mumbled in confusion in old dragon tongue as she crawled closer to him. She crushed chunks of piecrust and berry goo with her hands and knees as she moved closer. Her movements were cautious incase he were to attack her. She softly sniffed the air around him to examine his scent. It felt like forever since she last seen one of her kind, but something was off about this one. She narrowed her gaze when she looked into his eyes;Same, but not?....What? She curiously thought. It was not like the scent she knew back at her tribe, and she had never seen green scales- but then again, the hatchling had never seen other dragons then the ones in her tribe either. Miles away with all the questions running through her mind quickly snapped out of her trance when she suddenly remembered the incident with her tail. Pink hues quickly returned to her face.

Her tail slapped against the ground in anger as a cloud of red smoke escaped her mouth, [“T-that wasn’t nice! Very rude! Don’t do that again, ok?!”] She hissed, while her stomach interrupted with a growl. She had already forgotten her hunger had not been satisfied.

Run! Faster than the wind
xxxxxAim! Farther than the skies

As the girl reacted to his touch, she began to exhale a pink smog. Remaining quiet as he processed what was going on, his expression could perfectly symbolize the monkey with symbols slamming them rapidly as it tried to make sense of everything. Her tail escaping his small palms as she turned to face him properly, the girl shouted at him in some unidentifiable language. Caked in pie residue, she looked flustered to no end, but Kiaku wasn't aware of that. "C-Could you say that again?" He requested, sitting on his knees as he seemingly remained calm. This was only because his brain was still trying to wrap around the smoke that she bellowed out.

Blissfully unaware of how close he was to being cooked alive, his eyes remained locked into hers. His tail slowly swaying in the air, he cocked his head to the side as she began to ask him something. Well, that was what he thought she was doing. Observing her as she drew closer to him, there was something wild about her movements. She was like some kind of animal that was super wary of something new. In the strangest of ways, he found it welcoming. Having been raised in the forested mountains to the north of Aeston, this type of approach was a sight for sore eyes.

Sniffing him cautiously, he found himself taking a wiff of himself not long after. "Do I smell funny or something to you?" He asked, still unable to properly register how feral this child was. Noticing where her eyes had wandered to, his slowly found himself looking at his own tail. "Is the color strange to you or something?" He asked, smiling as he adjusted his sitting position. Crossing his legs, he planted his hands on his knees. This girl was pretty interested, wasn't she?

It was then that she snapped. Slamming her own tail down, she proceeded to growl something at him. Picking up parts of what she said, he could remember the pronunciation, but had yet to hear the meaning. Whatever it was, she was clearly mad. The red smoke must've had something to do with emotions? Opening his mouth to ask something, a loud rumbling stopped him. It didn't take long for him to recognize that sound. It was a stomach growling.

At that very moment, it dawned on him why she was so grouchy and mad. Glancing down at a chunk of the pie she'd been eating, he reached down and scooped it up with no hesitation. The berry filling dripping down his hand, he held it out to her. "Come on. I'm not going to bite you or anything," He told her, a soft gentleness to his words as he awaited her next action patiently. He wasn't very sure what she was, but he knew a few things already. She was similar to him, seemed to be around his age, and was hungry.

When the boy spoke to her, the hatchling growled. She could not understand a single word, yet she knew it was a language of mortals. While on the run, she noticed from afar that many of the creatures that inhabited these lands used it as a common tongue, and not a word of her own dialect was ever spoken. It made her feel so out of touch with her surrounds. The lifestyles of these people were so drastically different from what she knew back home. Everything was so delicate. The warm sense of hope of hearing her native tongue from another was quickly damped when the boy spoke.

Tana tilted her head as she watched the boy scoop up a large chunk of pie from the ground. Her stomach rumbled with glee. Her gaze widened as she watched him hold it out to her. The hatchling slowly began to lean closer; she looked back to him then the food. She examined how he sat; slowly she began to move her legs to mimic him. She released a tickled laugh, ”Guehehehe!” the position seemed silly to the hatchling. Tana’s gaze softened as she welcomed the idea of the offering, hungry hands quickly snatched the offering. She monstrous devoured it.

When the pie disappeared from her hands, she licked the last of the sweet flavor from her lips. The hatchling had taken quite a toll on the pie count. Hopefully there were enough pies for the contest. She shot a curious gaze over to the boy, many questions filled her mind, and the biggest question was whether she could trust him. The end of her tail flicked as she thought to herself;…….He did give me food… The hatchling eyed another large chunk of pie on the ground, she picked it up and offered it to the boy with a smile; He’s ok I guess…Maybe we can be friends! Her tail slowly began to wag, [“Just don’t do that again, ok?”]

Remaining seated upon the ground, Kiaku's tail swayed in the air. Feeling the pie filling drip from his hand, it left a strange sensation between his fingers. It was like a stickier version of mud had gotten stuck to his hands, but with a more pleasant scent. The girl mirroring his position, his attention remained upon her. Trying to make sense of her, he was certain that she may have not been able to speak the same language as him. Communication by normal means was out of the question, so maybe he had to try a little bit harder to get points across.

Before he knew it, a majority of the pie remains he was holding on disappeared. Looking at his hand, his eyes immediately shifted to the girl who was now laughing. Devouring what he had in his hand very quickly, she ate like a wild animal. "I interrupted your meal, huh?" He asked, as she began to lick her hands clean. His eyes shifting down to his palm, he stared at the filling that was left as residue. Licking it off himself, he could taste the pie's berry rich flavor, with a hint of dirt. It was kind of gross.

As she drew closer to him, he looked at her with a somewhat puzzled expression. Watching as she scooped up some of the pie remained, he was expecting her to start eating it in front of him once again. Her actions surprised him however. Presenting him with what she had picked up, he found himself staring at it. He had half expected her to dig into it immediately, but to offer him some of her food was a sign of trust? Perhaps? He knew animals that functioned in packs did this kind of behavior a lot with weaker members, right? Did she perceive him as a member of her own species?

His emerald eyes examining the pie remains that she offered him, there was a bit of hesitation to him. Seeing visible dirt on it, he remembered the taste of it mixed with the filling. However, there was something about the look within her eyes that was waiting for him. Taking her offering, he was very quick to devour it. Trying not to taste much of it, he almost swallowed the pie whole. Luckily, he had never really seemed to see much of his gag reflex kicking in, if he even had one. Panting a little after swallowing the darn thing whole, he smiled at the girl. "Thank you," He told her, his voice somewhat shaky.

After a moment of recovering, he stood up and looked at the stand that the girl had been taking from. Feeling a bit guilty, he set his grandfather's coin bag down on the counter. Peeking at the prices of he pies, he opened it up and began to shift through it a little. Pulling out enough to cover for what he assumed she had ate, he left it there without saying a word to the man who was operating the stall. Tying the bag back up, he attached it to the side of his pants. "C'mon. You can't be staying here the whole time. This place is full of other things than just the pies," He told the strange girl as he held his hand out to her. It was the first time he'd seen anyone like himself and he felt he couldn't quite leave this one alone.

She released a small cloud of yellow smoke from her lips as she happily watched him eat the food; Oblivious to his discomfort. A little dirt meant nothing to the hatchling. Food was food even if it is uncooked. She was just happy to repay the kindness. The hatchling checked her surroundings whenever an unfamiliar loud sound rang out in the distance. She was still not used to the various smells and sounds, but she hoped she could trust her friend’s words. That this was a safe place. Since she had been sprung out of prison, not a day has gone by where they were not on the move.

Tana curiously watched the boy get up, she grew a little tense at first from the sudden movement but relaxed as she watched him walk away. She slowly rose up to her feet as she heard the sound of small chiming objects from him. She tottered closer to see he had left shiny round metals disks on the counter, and from the sounds of it there were more stowed away in pouch he carried. She was familiar with what they were used for. She recalled a faint memory of the humans near her home using small objects for trade; mostly the chiming sound. Though she was not sure why he left them there.

She cautiously took a step back when he turned to her. He spoke more words her ears did not understand. The hatchling stared at the hand he extended out towards her. She wondered if he wanted to give her more food. A frown formed on her lips when there was none to be seen. Jelly pie filling was not enough to satisfy her hunger. She wondered what he wanted when she tried to recall the gestures she learned from her friend; Does he want… She thought to herself as she raised her hand, examining her crumb covered hands. She lightly wiggled her fingers before she awkwardly placed her hand onto his. She curiously looked to him to see what would happen next. A smile appeared on her face;Maybe a game?! She excitedly thought.

Seeing that the girl was pleased that he ate what she had presented him, Kiaku felt a bit better. He was willing to put up with snacking on such a thing, if it meant that she was happy. Course, he didn't even know what this girl's name was and she didn't really know him either. His tail swaying as he clearly began to dwell on the matter of what her hand was, he could hear the crowds of students and teachers moving around. Peering out from behind the stall, he wondered if it was a good idea bringing her out into the open. She didn't seem all too tame after all.

As he held his hand out to her, he wore as bright of a smile as he could. Noticing that she seemed a bit disappointed, he could only piece together that she was still wanting more food. Could that have actually been the case? Well, he didn't exactly have any food with him, but he had no issue running around trying to find something that would satisfy her. It may have been his fascination with the notion that maybe there was someone who had a tail like his out there. In all of his time in the city, he'd yet to see someone like him yet and was just assuming he was a human like his grandfather up until he started seeing the folks around town.

Finding her hand placed against his, he could feel the crumbs along the palm and fingers of her warm hands against his own. Clasping it, he began to pull her up with a somewhat high amount of force. "Come on! Let's find something else!" He told her as he was quick to start running. Dragging her along, he moved at a speed that was a fraction of what he initially started with. He had no idea how fast she was, but he had learned very quickly that he was a lot more agile and quick than a majority of individuals, other than those who had a talent with speed or could fly. "Let me know if I should slow down!" He chimed in as he looked back at the girl, his tail moving in a serpentine manner with each step he took.

Tana lightly flinched when the boy grasped her hand, and with no warning she found herself being pulled by the wrist. He spoke to her again, but failed to understand again. She stared at the back of the boy’s head with a wide-eyed gaze. Her feet moved automatically beneath her. Bare feet pound against the floor behind his swift steps. She managed to keep up though running on two legs was not her strong point- but any faster the hatchling would end up being dragged along ; W-where are we going?! She curiously thought as her crimson eyes looked about their passing surroundings. A chill ran down her spine as she felt many unfamiliar eyes fall upon her.

Her tail slowly rose up behind her while the scales on her tail lightly loosened into a chiming entrustment. Her hand slowly tightened its grasp, “G-gao…” She nervously mumbled under her breath. The unfamiliar smells and sounds overwhelmed her senses. She began to question if it was a good idea follow the boy. When he looked back to her and spoke her grasp began to slowly loosen. Her worries seemed to melt away even though she did not understand a single word. His expression made her want to trust him. A small smile formed on her lips as she followed behind him. Her tail lowered back down and her scales tightened as she relaxed. She was eager to know what waited for them ahead of their journey.

His speed hindered by his company, Kiaku slowed down quite a considerable amount. Passing by many of the larger students and teachers, he found himself reminded of how much of a size difference existed. Glancing back at the girl, he could see her struggling to follow him on two feet. She was a bit taller than him when standing up, but she had issues walking. Perhaps she was adapted to walking on all fours. "Are you okay?" He asked her, still a little wary of how she was currently.

The girl was a lot more wild than he thought she was. Noticing the markings upon her face, he came to a stop finally. Uncertain of where they were, he began to look around. Wait, was he going in the direction of his grandfather or not? Realizing he was a bit lost, he released her hand and began to look around. Sniffing the air, he tried to catch the scent of tea. Unfortunately, the smell of everything else drowned out the one smell he was looking for. It was seemingly hopeless at the moment.

As all hope felt lost, a sound snapped him back to. His stomach growling, he looked down and put his hand on it. He was now hungry. Of course, he ate the dirty pie and now he wanted food in his system. Wasn't particularly surprising to be truthful, but he did know he was burning off a lot of energy running around like he was. "Are you still hungry?" He asked as he gestured towards a nearby stall. It was one that was selling some kind of meaty product. The scent was dominating the air, and it was appealing to him. He didn't exactly like killing anything, but he wasn't against eating meat.

There had been some earlier concerns, but moving past them to go to the festival area had been managed. That itself hadn’t been too difficult; there hadn’t been much reason to hang around elsewhere; not having much else to do, and knowing that he couldn’t miss an event and not regret it later. There weren’t and hadn’t been, a lot of things like this back home, for a number of reasons; which, besides it being his first year here, made going more important. He hadn’t stayed long at the dorm once getting up; most of that part of the morning was used getting ready for the rest of the day. How long the event would last hadn’t been clear— Zurinh’s current stance on things was to make the most of it, looking ahead with some focus in the move off towards the area where everything was laid out.

Of what he could see; at the front part of the few rows, various booths representing different cultures, clubs, and other topics - earlier, he had skimmed through a flier - the crowds mostly started there. Before then, running into people hadn’t really happened, which was good and bad. The good part: while there were a lot of different people here, not many had seemed that okay with him being around, in the few conversations since arriving at the Academy. It had gone along with earlier ones, when first arriving in this plane. Because things had gone that way; it still made sense, with what knew or had been told offhand, both at home and while in Aeston. Diplomacy was present— that was also a first-hand thing, once being allowed through, while that didn’t entirely mean social views were the same as formal ones. Feeling sort of alienated… then wasn’t anything that expected, but had started up within the first day, going onto the first as a student.

Passing by a group near one booth at the front, one of the people there glanced his way; but didn’t do much else while he went by, seeming focused on a pamphlet they were holding more than else, the conversation continuing but after a short distance being overlapped by other sounds. Not really paying too much attention to the background; there was a stop a short distance away to look around, for a moment taking in the various booths around him after looking to the one he had ended up at. Besides the vend nearby, which focused on paper craft, there were various others that had pottery, drawn art, small nature-craft, among other things. Not certain which to ask about first, having some money with him but not a lot - what he picked out would need some thought.

After a minute, walking up to one - the drawn art - he paused, thinking over what he could say. Aiming a question forward, he tried to word it clearly; avoiding ambiguity as much as he could. "I have around —, would that be enough for a smaller work?" Getting a look in return, the person manning the booth stopped before giving a response, their suspicion clear but still putting forward an estimate. “The lowest was —. Other than that, it’s around —-.
” Waiting for a response then, for him to pick out one, this was attempted shortly by him; what he indicated taken from the nearby wall of the booth. Pulling out the needed money, it was handed forward before the small scroll was passed his way, Zurinh then giving a thanks before moving to walk ahead.

Tana
Dragon child

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the boy began to slow down, the hatchling was able to evenly pace her steps and move comfortable on two legs. Her movements appeared awkward and clumsy. She was felt more at ease on all fours, though she knew she needed more practice on two legs. Her friend that rescued her would always encourage her to walk her two feet on the ground to blend into this strange place he left her at. Though the hatchling was rather stubborn to let go of old ways that make her feel at ease.

She cautiously checked her surroundings when their short journey came to an end and he released her hand. She looked down to her hand; she was partly amazed at how lukewarm his touch was, not like a fire dragon’s temperate. She wondered what kind of dragon he was, and what other dragons existed in this strange land. Her gaze sparkled with curious awe.

She lightly flinched when she heard someone laugh near by, the tip of her tail flicked the air as she sot out the source. A young child warmly giggled with their parent at one of the food venders. Tana began to relax as she watched the two. She began to vaguely remember small details from her past, the festival made the hatchling recall the human village from her homeland. Many joyful expressions on the villagers’ faces while they harmoniously worked together surrounded by melodies and busy tinker sounds. She always loved the smell of herbs and spices they used in their warm meals. She also remembered how the curious children would try to touch her tail. She would growl at them, but her mother would quickly correct her and tell her to be gentle. Much of the detail was hazy, as well as the sound of her mother’s voice and face. The hatchling did not seem bothered by her vague memory of her mother, memories from that long ago rarely visited her thoughts.

The longer she dwelled on the thoughts; her mind began to grow hazy with a loud buzz. She tightly shut her eyes and shook the feeling off. Tana looked over to the boy with the green tail with a fresh mind. She wondered if she needed to be gentle with him too….

When the boy spoke again, her eyes lit up with joy, one word seemed to stick to her ‘hungry’. She remembered her friend had tried to teach her some words while on the run, though not many stuck with her recuperating mind from the experiments. Her hair began to give of a bright hue of blue as she prepared to speak back, “H….hun..gry….F….Foo..d.” She slowly replied with a proud smile as she followed him over to the booth that was decadently filled with meat smelling goods. The smell caught her stomach’s attention; it was quick to beg the hatchling for some meaty bites. She began to totter closer, her gaze bounced between the food and the boy as he gestured her towards the food; Giving me first bite? She wondered as she quickly snatched the closest morsel without hesitation and began to bite into the warm meal.

xxxxLocation: Festival Crowd - Vendors
xxxxCompany: None > Chao Jiao-long

It was a lovely day, perfect for enjoying tea, socializing with the affluent, and reading a book lightly while making appropriate off hand comments to stir the conversation forward. So why. Was no one. In. The. God. Damn. Tea. Club?! It was almost blasphemous. A flyer for the club, one that still had stubs attached to it crumpled in the young vicomte's hands as his gaze almost bored holes in the door. This was absolutely outrageous. Who would want to go mingle with in such a crowded and noisy place. The purpose of having servants was to bring that delicious food from the markets back to you so you could enjoy it in a civilized manner! No, no. This was not an elvish estate or one of his family homes but a school that catered to all sorts of... individuals. Ja was here so he might learn to use his power better while avoiding the shadow of his family and their history.

With a sigh the elf left the club room before heading out onto the campus grounds to find the head of the club. Ja had not officially joined the club yet, he needed to prepare and send for a suitable gift after all of fine elvish tea. It was the natural thing to do when making introductions... had that not arrived by servant to this man, this new teacher? Had they not also gotten the letter of introduction that Ja had spend two sleepless nights wording in an elegant but casual manner as not to be too pompous with his words? Had they not said to drop by when it was convenient in the response. Well there was only one thing for it now, he had to go out and find........ Chao Jiao-long.

With a little bit of meandering through the booths and searching, Ja-Jimsha could not find Chao Jiao-long for the life of him. How was anyone supposed to get anything done in this mass of people. Irate and defeated, the young vicomte found himself hungry to his chagrin. But what to eat? There were so many vendors of food from many countries. He knew of some but others, well they were truly perplexing to him. Take for example this delicious noodle that was kind of brown but had a nice salty taste mixed in with vegetables. It was filling but messy at the same time. As Ja-Jimsha devoured the food he forgot how he paid for the man in question appeared. He seemed to be waiting for something and the vicomte was left with a predicament. On one hand he needed to speak with this man. On the other hand he had greasy fingers and had already used up most of the disposable handkerchiefs. Franticly looking around the vicomte ended up brushing his lips with the back of his hand and then wiping that hand on the side of some banner while people weren't looking right at him. It was clean enough to use the remaining disposable handkerchiefs to clean himself off.

Approaching Chao Jiao-long, Ja-Jimsha cleared his throat before introducing himself. "Good day Mr. Jiao-long. I am Ja-Jimsha Solomon III, Vicomte of the Braelan house Solomon. It's my pleasure to finally make your acquaintance." The young elf said, trying to live up to his families name and limited prestige as best he could. Some things were great bout being a noble. Other things, such as introductions and colorful language were terrible. "I believe you are in charge of the Tea Clup that was recently created on campus. I was hoping if I'm not being too bold that I might talk to you about it for a bit."

Run! Faster than the wind

His question for the girl lingering for a moment, Kiaku ever slowly began to ponder if the girl understood what he had even asked. She had shown characteristics of a wild animal, so he began to have a few doubts she followed what he was saying. It didn't really bother him all too much, but it did put a damper on establishing some form of communication, didn't it? As he briefly dwelled on the notion, she reacted to his words. A strange, blue glow coming from her hair, he stood completely still as she slowly began to respond. Repeating the word 'hungry' and saying 'food', she clearly understand that part. The prideful smile she wore definitely established that. Nodding, he found himself mirroring the action his grandfather did when he did something right. Reaching up, he placed his hand on her head and began to ruffle up her hair. "Yes yes. We'll get more food," He told her, finding some weird sense of joy in her accomplishment.

As they drew closer to the stall, the scent was getting far stronger. He could recognize the seasoning used as a mix of garlic and curry powder. Those were used when his grandfather cooked deer or boar back in the mountains. It was already a nostalgic smell, given how it had been a month since they had left their mountain home. Nearly drooling at the smell, he was ready to start eating upon getting to the front of the small line. It didn't take much effort for the boy to convince the dwarf operating the stall to give them a large amount of the meat. What fascinated him about the meat was that it was wrapped around a metal rod. There was a large amount of it too that was just coiled around it. Handing it to the girl, he was quick to use what change his grandfather sent him off with to pay for the meaty meal. "Thank you very much," Was the last thing he told the dwarf before trotting away with the girl. Looking at her as she began to dig into it, he found himself smiling. She wasn't very patient at all, was she?

Opening his mouth to speak, he froze as he planned to address her about the matter. It was at that very moment, he realized something that he had yet to do. At no point, did he introduce himself to the girl at all, did he? Seeming as if he was defeated, he began to slowly look around. How was he going to go about this to this gluttonous girl? "I am sorry, I never told you my name. I'm Kiaku," He told her as he looked over at her. His movements slower as he walked beside her, he stared at the meat on a metal stick. Was she intending to eat the whole thing herself? "What is your name?" He asked as he gestured towards her. He didn't have the faintest idea if she'd follow what he was asking, but he was at least going to try his best to establish some form of understanding. He didn't care if it turned into a non-verbal thing, he just wanted to be able to communicate with someone who was like him. Then maybe he'd be able to figure out what he really was instead of assuming that he was human like his grandfather.
