Step into another world, and learn the history of Queen Cordelia Academy.
Hundreds of years ago, the most powerful country on the continent, Aeston, was in the middle of a civil war that tore the nation apart. Upon the untimely death of their father, King Athalos, Princess Cordelia, the rightful heir to the throne, and her brother, Prince Rian, who had the support of their father’s private army of magic users, the Phantoms, brought the nation to its knees with their conflict. When the dust settled, Cordelia was crowned Queen of Aeston, and began her rule. With a broken nation and a disheartened people to rule, she did her best to usher in an era of peace. During her rule, she established a school, which was named in her honor, Queen Cordelia Academy.
The school started as an academy for aspiring knights to learn their craft, while treating the general education as secondary. The school prides itself on staying ahead of the times, and has changed countless times throughout the years. Today, the education of its students is Queen Cordelia Academy’s primary focus. The old knight school still exists however, and offers combat and magic training to any who desire it. While taking knighthood classes is not required, many choose to as a way of exploring their powers. General classes at the main academy are required unless the student is over eighteen years of age, or their race's age of majority, though college level courses are offered as well.
Queen Cordelia Academy prides itself on being a progressive utopia of a school, but it is not without its issues. With free education for all, there is a lot of friction between the poor and homeless students who come to the school for a better life, and the rich families of high blood who attend the school out of family tradition. The school survives mostly on donations from the noble families, and doesn’t wish to risk alienating either group, or tarnishing its reputation by acknowledging the problem. With student crime on the rise, and a social climate more hostile than ever before, will Queen Cordelia Academy descend into chaos, or will it return to its former glory? And with trouble brewing in the world around it, does it have any choice but to prepare students who can rise to the occasion?
