A simple outdoor space cleared out to make a dance floor. There is a live band on a makeshift stage, playing a wide variety of music. Around the dance floor are tables to sit and eat food at, and rest weary feet.

The tall blind woman stood alone at a high circular table amongst a forest of many others. She hunched her back slightly to rest her forearms on the tabletop. The woman quietly dwelled in a small social area beside the dance floor where people enjoyed food and festive drinks before they return to another round of dancing. A smile graced her lips as she contently listened to the various conversations and the busy feet that moved to the music at the dance floor. The various sounds around her melted into a sea all around her, she felt every vibration graze her skin and tingle through her souls of her feet that were planted on the ground. The sounds illustrated a world only those who lack sight have the fortune of knowing. Her eyelids remained sealed; the thin flesh concealed a precious secret.

She held a tall green glass in her right hand with colorful silly straws and tiny umbrellas that poorly disguised the drink’s true contents. Not that she would care if anyone found out. Her index finger gently rubbed along the side of the smooth glass to the rhythm of the festival music. Beneath the table there was a faint rattling sound of metal that chimed off beat from the music. A chain that hung from her belt with a blue glass bottle at the end of it swung on her belt. It moved to its own rhythm. The swinging motion never lost momentum no matter how still the woman remained, and it never lost a beat.

The woman aimed her face down towards the table as one of the umbrellas began to twirl in her glass. A small mischievous sprite childishly giggled as it ran like a hamster in a wheel on top of the paper umbrella. She then heard many other small voices, small sprites and spirits skipped around on her table, a few others hikes up her arms as if she were a mountain, some playfully dangled and swung on her braids that moved as if the wind ran through them. She reached into one of the pouches on her belt and pulled out a small rock of candy and placed it on to the table. Many of the tiny entities flooded to it and happily feasted on the sweet treat that looked as though it were quickly melting away to nothing. The woman normally ignored the little rascals, but the festival put her in a charitable mood, “Dis is a speshal trate, don’t go tinkin you’ll be gettin' more- an' yer better be on yisser best behavior too.” The blind woman muttered in a thick accent as she fished out one of the straws and brought it to her lips.

It took a moment for the liquid to reach her as it passed through the many loops and bends in the silly straw. She did not mind the wait as the silly tool amused her. Such things were not around when she was young, so once in a while she took the time to enjoy them. A smile graced her lips when she finally had her first sip.

    I'm in a better place. I won't forget that.

I am here: Off to the side
I am with: Ms.Dov-I mean- Penelope?
    I feel: A little nervous

Ahh, the festival sure brought back memories. A time to be merry and have some fun before the school year. Of course, Eden was here as a teacher this time around. She grabbed some food from the vendors and wandered around, mostly just keeping an eye on things. Nothing was getting too out of hand, so it wasn’t like she had a lot of work to do. She made her way to the dance floor. No, not to dance. She would nev- err, well, just a few years ago she had. Let’s just say Eden didn’t see herself dancing any time soon. No, she was here to see Penelope. Ms.Dovark? Hm, what did she call her former teacher? On that note, introducing herself would be kinda awkward. “Hi, I’m your coworker now and I’m also a girl now, by the way do you got any booze to spare?” Perfect. She would need a drink.

Eden spotted the teacher immediately. Even though she knew the woman was blind, she still felt like she was being watched as she walked up to Penelope. Eden had always suspected that what Penelope missed out in actual vision, she made up for in something else. Whatever she had behind those shades. Either way, she would probably hear her sitting down across from her. Eden made a short gesture, and a convenient breeze carried the scent of alcohol from the drink to Eden’s nose. She smiled a little. This woman really did not change.

Ugh, now for the awkward part. Eden’s cleared her throat, slipping into a voice that Penelope would more than likely remember. A masculine voice came from her lips, as light and playful as when she was a teenager, ”You know Ms. Dovark, everyone knows what’s in that glass of yours.” Eden didn’t like how easy it was to slide into her old voice, but that was a benefit of her powers. It let her dodge vocal surgery and voice training, at least. She just hoped Penelope would remember the voice of Abel Viano. If not, well, then she'd kind of embarrassed herself for nothing.

Penelope made a small crack to peer through her eyelids as someone approached her table. The woman was a little more lax at opening her eyes while she wore the dark shaded glasses. She praised the inventor the day the item was introduced into this world. She acquired a rather odd and colorful collection as time went on. Before then she spent Her jewel gaze peered into the blackened world of the blind and her eyes revealed strange and hidden spectacles. Symbols and glowing blurs of the mischievous spirits that lingered near. The most dazzling sight were the people around her, though through her eyes they were not anything but a dazzling collection of floating star constellations. Each were unique in their own way and told a few stories, yet it was a dazzling world she briefly looked into. Only to protect her secret. She peered enough to know who stood before her, and the paths she had crossed with them.

The blind woman aimed her head towards a familiar voice with a smile on her thin pink lips, “ Ah if it isn’t ab-. naw, eden. sweet dove, welcome ter de cru.” Penelope corrected herself, the nostalgia of a familiar voice brought back warm fuzzy memories, or that could have just been the booze. Though it was too early for that. She chortled when Eden pointed out her feeble attempt at hiding the identity of her drink. She aimed her face down towards her drink, her fingers ruffled the silly straws and tiny umbrellas, “ Aye, but they don’t nu waaat they’re missin' oyt on. not really…honestly, dees silly wee things were mostly meant ter 'umor me.” She playfully grinned. Sweet drinks and food were enticing, but a drink without liquor was very bland. The woman preferred more hardy flavors in her food to teeth rotting sweets. She lightly muttered a series of numbers under her breath along with the rhythm of the swinging bottle

“ Ah, enoof av that- oi wus really lookin' forward ter yisser return, dove. we shud celebrate!” The blind woman said as she raised her hand up into the air, mustering her earth magic through her fingertips. The ground gave a slight rumble, abrupt. Then a large empty glass flew out of nowhere over the crowd of people and landed in the blind woman’s elevated hand. In the distance there was an annoyed shout ‘Hey, who did that?!’ but that did not seem to break the tranquil air of the festival. The little sprites that loomed around her mischievously snickered, “Only wi' a rayle draink of course.” She cracked a small grin as she gently placed the glass onto the table and quickly brought up a flask from one of the pouches on her belt, though she paused as soon as she brought the mouth of the flask to the brim to the cup, “ Ah, oi forgot ter ask if yer wanted ter draink.….” She said as she aimed her head in Eden’s direction, the braids in her hair bobbed when she moved her head. She gave a light chuckle, ” In de mud for a draink wi' dis auld bat?”

      I'm in a better place. I won't forget that.

I am here: off to the side

I feel: never to early to start drinking

Eden smiled when Penelope seemed to recognize her, though she was a bit surprised to be called by her actual name rather than her deadname right off the bat, though she did almost slip up at first. "Ah, di-" Eden stopped herself, realizing she was still speaking in her masculine voice. "One sec." She cleared her throat, and then started again, speaking in her new normal voice, distinctly feminine, but still reminiscent of her old voice, "That makes things easier. Did uh, the headmistress tell you?" She'd had the whole thing planned out in her head, but she supposed skipping it all would be easier. "Thanks for the welcome though, it's so weird being back. I feel like I'm not even the same person anymore." Eden trailed off a bit, reflecting on everything she'd been through. Realizing what probably stuck out the most to a cisgender person, she was quick to amend, "Ah, not just uh, my new . . . look." Well, it was a little more than that. But she didn't need to get into her medical history with Penelope. "It's just uh, been a while." She didn't really want to get into the stuff with the Knights either. Eden realized there wasn't a whole lot she did want to get into.

She did want to reconnect with Penelope though, and turn their student-teacher relationship into a real friendship. "I did always like being called Dove, though. Uh, could you tell? Way back then? Or was it just that I'm like, kind of a bird?" Penelope had usually reserved her bird nicknames for her female students, though even in the closet, Penelope hadn't shied from referring to Eden as such. She'd never thought to question it, though now that she was out, it was something she was curious about.

At least she found Eden's attempt to joke about her beverage funny, giving a laugh before essentially waving her concerns off. With the topic on alcohol, Penelope said they should celebrate her return with a drink. Eden watched as Penelope raised her hand into the air. Eden, knowing the woman had more than a few tricks up her sleeves, waited patiently. She was not disappointed. The ground rumbled, and soon enough, a glass had flown right into Penelope's outstretched hand. Eden laughed a bit, asking, "Do I want to know where that's been?" Ah, not like it mattered. It looked clean enough, and the alcohol would kill any germs.

Just an Penelope was about to pour the drink, she seemed to remember something. She made a point to ask if Eden wanted to drink with her. Eden supposed she was just being considerate, rather than pressuring her into it. Eden gave an awkward laugh as she admitted, "I'm not ashamed to admit that's why I came over in the first place. I've been looking forwards to sharing a drink with you."

“ Aye, dare wus a staff meetin' before yer arrived, ter inform de staff av anythin' new. yu were mentioned.” She said as she straightened her posture and planted the palms of her hands against the table. When Eden spoke of her worries Penelope gave a slight shrug, “ Well, oi can’t ‘see’ anythin'. ” Penelope joked as she took another sip of her drink. As the liquid splashed down her throat she felt more and more relaxed, like soaking in a warm bath, “ You’ve alwus been strong, de uneasy feelin' 'ill pass faster den you’d tink. de students 'ill luk up ter yer nigh, be inspired, an' seek guidance. often most are more open minded den others but you’ll soon realize 'oy quickly they 'ill becum our strength.” She softly spoke.

When Eden asked if she knew, at that moment a veil of déjà vu cloaked her mind. She not only heard the girl’s voice but many others overlapping. Voices from the past asking the same question- old, young, dying, healthy, angry, happy, sad. Hundreds and thousands all in an instant flooded her mind like the sea and made time feel stretched. Many she remembered as clear as day, while many others were faint echoes of the past. A slight downside for such a long life span, every conversation causes nostalgia. She had learned to repress the feeling over time, though occasionally a few slip through. Drinking helps, it numbs the mind. She aimed her head towards Eden. The only thing that was ever the same was her answer to such a question,“ I’ve alwus been bloody sensitive raun others, oi tend ter peck up on things before others realize it themselves. Dove wus jist me bein' subtle in a wai.” Penelope said with a small nod, it was a partial truth. The full truth of her awareness consisted of details that will only raise more questions. Details she preferred to remain unspoken. She took another sip of her drink before she continued, “ Though jist cos oi peck up on things, so'tiz not me place ter revayle. so'tiz a path for yer ter discover.” Penelope softly smiled off a painful truth. Not all that she knew was good; she had to endure many painful things. That was something she would never reveal. The bottle continued to swing from her belt as she conversed.

Penelope smiled when Eden admitted to wanting a drink. She slowly twisted the cap of the off the bottle, “ Nigh dat is music ter me ears.” She chuckled as she began to pour her a drink. She listened to the liquid fill the glass, the bottle was smaller then the glass yet it seemed to contain much more then it appeared and showed no sign of running out. She pulled the bottle away when the glass was full and pushed the drink over to Eden, “ Dis is 'oy yer really celebrate. i’m sure you’ll due a grand job 'ere, oi luk forward ter 'earin' waaat songs 'ill fill de 'alls durin' yisser class.” She said as she raised her glass.

        I feel: Ugh

Eden nodded as Penelope mentioned the staff meeting. She supposed the other teacher couldn’t see that though. “Oh. Uh, makes sense.” She was “mentioned.” Eden supposed it was normal, but she couldn’t help feel a little anxious over it. Everyone knew about her, but she didn’t know about everyone. Bleh. She was sure she’d most of her coworkers soon enough anyways.

Eden didn’t bother suppressing her eye roll when Penelope said she’d always been strong. Wasn’t like she could see it anyways, and it was better than laughing while she was talking. “I don’t know if I’d say. . .” Eden let out a sigh as she trailed off. Penelope was trying to be nice here. “Thank you.” And hey, Eden had been through a lot. Maybe she was strong. To the part about the students, she added, “Though I’m not too worried about the students. There’s brats in every bunch, but I’m . . . looking forwards to being someone the kids can rely on, if that makes sense.”

Eden frowned a little as she asked her question. Penelope seemed to space out for a second before answering. Her frown only deepened as she basically confirmed that she’d known. Eden . . . hadn’t been expecting an actual “yeah I knew.” Maybe something like, “I could tell you preferred Dove for some reason. Whodathunk you were trans lmao.” She wasn’t sure how to feel about it, if she wished Penelope would have said something back then, or if things were better the way they were now. Eden guessed it was pointless to think about. Smiling a little, she sighed and told Penelope, “You’re awfully mysterious, you know that?”

Eden smiled as she received her drink. She joked, “It’s a shame you don’t keep a spare straw. Looks like fun.” Eden took a sip of her drink the old fashioned way. “You know, us Knights are pretty good at holding our liquor.” Eden realized halfway through speaking what she’d just brought up, but managed to finish her sentence without faltering. She wasn’t sure if Penelope would already know about her Knighthood. Her situation with them was . . . something she had complicated feelings about. She was proud to be a Knight, but her removal from active service was a bit of an embarrassment, as much as she knew she needed it. She didn’t think she had the right to be boasting about being a Knight when she couldn’t even handle her duties. Maybe she wasn't so strong after all.

The blind woman smiled as she listened to Eden’s words. Regardless of the doubt Eden had over her words or if she was even aware of her doubts she remained in an unruffled mood. Penelope would believe even when Eden did not. It was hard to sour her mood when she was drinking to her hearts content, “Never dry shoite moment wi' dem, oi love kids, their pure 'onesty an' curiosity 'umors me.” Penelope smiled as she recalled the many odd questions students had asked her about herself or just remarks she heard. No matter how much the world had changed over the years her love for children never changed. She placed one hand on the smooth polished table; there were small den imperfections on the surface wood. Sturdy yet weathered and scarred, this table may have some interesting stories to tell if it could speak. Her fingertips also detected small crumbs of food that was left behind by those who occupied the table before her. She quietly flicked them off the table like ants on a sandwich plate, “Aye, oi understan' dat pure well” She smiled, she felt the same when she first started, whatever many years ago that was.

Penelope took another sip of her drink before she released a response and rubbed away whatever resilient crumbs that tried to cling to her fingers, “'a, if oi 'ad a penny for every time oi 'eard that- ah, well none av it wud be raun cos i’d spend it al' on drinks!” Penelope said with a grinned until she caught a rather pungent whiff of a couple smoking a cheap brand of smokes. She crinkled her nose for a moment until she gotten used to the smell. Luckily there was a mischievous breeze the brushed most of the scent in another direction. She lightly tapped all five fingertips on the table, each in rhythm of the swinging bottle, “ 'a, oi 'ad more- but. well, oisin did not seem ter loike dem al' dat much an' tuk de rest. 'is sense av 'umor is bloody bleak. auld basstard.” Penelope softly sighed as her fingertips spidered back to her drink.

The blind woman aimed her head towards Eden when she mentioned her knighthood, “ Ah? dat sounds loike a challenge!- though many knights i’ve drank wi' cud not keep up wi' me.” Penelope said as she placed her bottle filled with liquid delight onto the table. The little spirits that stood on the table top merrily skipped around the bottle with mischievous laughter, “ Perhaps yer can chucker better, willin' ter 'av a go?” She asked as she took another sip through her silly straws, this straw she used this time was zig zagged and bright green.

          I feel:

Eden listened as Penelope talked about her love for the kids. Eden wondered if she’d come to have that kind of passion about her job in the coming years. For Penelope it did make sense though. Eden had no idea how old the teacher was, but she hadn’t aged a day since Eden had met her, and had heard rumors that no one aside from the headmistress had known a time where Penelope Dovark had not been a teacher at the school. Even if it was an exaggeration, it probably had some truth to it. So, to keep a job as a teacher that long would only make sense if someone loved kids. Her mind a little sidetracked, Eden asked, ”I can tell you love your job. Ah, but I knew that when you were teaching me. Er, how long have you been here, Penelope?” It wasn’t something she’d ever shared with her students, but Eden was hoping that as a coworker, she might get an answer.

Eden laughed a little as Penelope joked about her mysteriousness. Despite it, she was awfully easy to understand and get along with in other ways. It only piqued her curiosity more, but Eden didn’t want to bother her with too many questions right off the bat. Eden sniffed at the air when she smelled someone smoking. She'd smoked rarely in the Knights, but had been smart enough to quit before she sustained any real damage to her lungs or throat. Having to smell someone else smoking didn't help her much. Luckily, before she could do anything, the winds changed, putting them downwind from them. Eden supposed she could go and scold whoever the offenders were, but she’d take after Penelope and just leave them be.

Eden glanced around with Penleope mentioned Oisin. Where was that . . . uh, horse thing? Kelpie. Whatever. Eden figured she’d get to have her reunion with him later. Instead, she just joked back, ”Maybe he’s off drinking too.”

Penelope had taken her comment as a challenge. Eden wasn’t quite sure she wanted to get drunk her first day back at the school, but surely the headmistress would understand if Penelope was involved. She took another sip from her glass, and responded, ”Well, if you can promise I won’t get fired for getting s**t-faced my first day here, I suppose I can’t say no.”

Penelope aimed her head towards the sky when Eden asked how long she had been at the academy. She would feel the cool night air brushed against her face. She lightly scratched the bottom of her chin in thought, “mmm….'ow long?” She lightly muttered with a clueless long winded sigh, “Uh, oi lost count after two ton years, dove.” She casually said with a small chuckle before she took a sip of her drink. She lightly licked her lips. She had been around for a long time, but it had not felt long at all, days and people pasted faster then droplets of rain in a storm. Penelope had no intention of hiding her age; she was an honest old gal.

“ 'a! that’ll be de day.”Penelope snickered at the thought of her Kelpie friend drinking. Or even eating a bowl of cereal. She had never known him to drink or eat mortal food. No matter how long she has known him, Penelope knew very well that Oisin preferred to eat human flesh, all but the liver. She managed to change his taste in meat, to smaller critters. It was the only condition he had to follow if he wanted to travel with her. Less trouble for her. Oisin has kept good to his word, but the lack of human flesh has made him rather irritable, which the blind woman has grown used to.

“ Pbha! ah aye, oi promise! naw nade ter worry at al', i’ve done dis many times an' oi still 'av me job! though, i’m not too sure yisser liver 'ill be gran' so, dove.” Penelope laughed before she finished the rest of her drink, “Ter more gran' days as de academy! oi 'av a feelin' dare 'ill be many craic times ahead.” Penelope she tossed as she refilled her drink before a brief raise of her glass and took another sip.

I feel: can't wait to be drunk

Eden gave a deliberate nod when Penelope cluelessly repeated her question. Eden immediately got the feeling that she wasn’t getting a straight answer. She sighed a little, though Penelope did mention that it’d been well over two hundred years. Which, probably meant that it’d actually been way longer than that? Eden was a little tempted to ask for clarification, but knew well enough that Penelope could have given her a more exact answer had she wanted to. She casually responded, ”Dang, wonder if I’ll stick around that long.” The two hundred years at least would be possible for her. She couldn’t really imagine anything else happening in her future, at least.

Eden smiled a little when her joke got a laugh. She really didn’t know a whole lot about Oisin, but apparently he wasn’t much of a drinker. His loss then? ”Well, more for us, I guess.” Eden wasn’t sure how Penelope’s bottle thing worked, but there was probably a limit to how much liquor it could hold? Literal infinite booze kind of seemed like a waste of magic. But honestly, she wouldn’t put it past Penelope to do something like that. She'd get the most out of it, at least.

Eden stared at Penelope a moment when she mentioned that she’d done this many times before. She supposed she couldn’t pretend to be surprised though. ”Ms.Dov- Penelope, I don’t think that’s something to brag about.” As for her liver, Eden shrugged and took a long sip. ”Well, I’ll be the nurse’s problem at that point.” She was hoping it wouldn’t come to that. But if it did, well, then she wasn’t wrong.

Eden laughed a little as Penelope downed the rest of her drink before making a toast. ”I think we were supposed to do this earlier. But yeah, I can drink to that.” Eden took another sip, and then asked, ”How’s the school been since I left, anyways? Hope I didn’t miss anything too crazy.” There was always something going on, at least. She figured this type of catching up was easier than asking about her age or any other kind of prying. She’d probably have a good story or two, at least.

Penelope smiled as listened to Eden speak and sipped her drink. She enjoyed many things, a friendly conversation, a nice drink, and a peaceful environment like perfect clockwork she enjoyed the peaceful flow over everything moving around her. Every sounds and movement went accordingly to the rhythm of blue bottle that swung on her belt. She knew Oisin was not far, and in a crummy mood no less, though she knew he would not mind being left out of drinking celebration, he never liked alcohol and was even more crabby whenever the blind woman consumed it. She could feel his gaze searing at her from a distance, yet she ignored it. Often she would ask him to watch over the greenhouse while she was away, but the kelpie would often veer from that task, it was rather boring for him. The mood was too peaceful to bring notice to the party poopers around her. She raised an eyebrow as Eden jokingly told her being a drunk was nothing to drag about. It was true; though it was a truth the woman did not seem to mind, “Ah, is dat so?” She softly muttered as she aimed her head towards the sky in thought, “I’ve never been wan ter care…but…” She softly nodded her head as she poured more alcohol into her glass, “Suppose somethin' loike dat cud cause trouble..” mostly with the headmistress whom the blind woman was used to her nags but rather avoid to not ruin her buzz, “Well….let’s jist keep it a secret between us den.” She said before she burst out laughing, she knew many suspected her of being a drunk already, not that she cared.

Penelope blew a light raspberry through her think lips, “'a, noonsense dove, never too late an’ never too early ter celebrate. Oi learned dat from de norn mountain iron dwarves way back in de day.” She said as she raised her glass up, her index finger gently tapped the side of the glass. They were a merry bunch especially after making a large hall of money in resource trades. They song loud enough to for their voices to be carried throughout ever stone carved hall to the front gates on their massive fortresses. The feasts were not half bad either. Perhaps all those celebrations were the reason no one has seen a Dwarf. There were probably more logical reasons behind that. Penelope knew why but fancied the humorous thought over the truth. She simply cherished the fun memories. The Dwarves’ extinction was not the first race she was present for at the time of their end. She downed another glass with a reminiscent smile. The rhythm of their songs still pulsated through her veins.

The blind woman chortled at Eden’s question as she refilled her glass. There were certainly some odd days but nothing too exciting to share, “'a, an academy full av magic, whaen isn’t dare somethin' crazy goin’ on? Well, dare wus a very interestin' curse outbreak, students were turnin' into rodents, first year drama…. THEN, a student stole a serpent vine seed from me greenhouse, they accidentally flushed it down de lavatory. De entire school’s plumbin' wus a nightmare for months, they are very troublesum evasive species. Oi believe dare are a few still slitherin' aboyt ter dis day…” She continued laughing as she slowly rubbed her tongue over her top row of teeth behind her lips and took another sip of her drink, “Naw, nathin' oyt av de norm, but who knows 'oy long de peace 'ill last, we 'av an interestin' new batch av individuals…” She said with a smile as she detected a sweet scent in the cool air, the smells of festive treats were carried over by the wind. The aroma lured playful spirits over with the hopes for a few sweet nibbles. After she spoke, it felt like ice water filled her veins, there was a bitter truth to it that she only she knew, a truth she could not tell anyone. She aimed her face down towards her glass, “Best be ready on yisser toes Dove.” She said it as a joke but all educators new how quickly things can escalate in their line of work.

What a night for dancing. While the evening air was chilling those standing and sitting around, Loli was quite comfortable moving about the dance floor. Granted she was use to much colder weather, so tonight her long, black coat was only buttoned at the top, just below the brown, leather collar buckled around her neck. While that did hide her cleavage, it did nothing for the small black tank top that left everything below her chest bare, and the pair of black short shorts that clung to her hips. She was moving very gracefully on matching platform boots that came up to her knees, dancing and spinning with the tail of her jacket flitting about behind. It had been a while since Lolicia had been around people. Even longer had she set foot on the QCA grounds. It felt almost like homecoming, a child again dancing about with her fellow knights in training. Granted she didn't quite look her age either, so she probably could have blended in quite well. But tonight she just enjoyed the night air with the music leading her. Every now and then she would scan the croud, interested if there were any familiar faces still here. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't until she had been dancing for quite some time before she noticed none other than the lovely Penelope Dovark. "Well what do you know, she is still around!"

Weaving her way through the crowd, still with a spin or two and a flourish here and there. She couldn't help being over the top. It was how she fought, it was how she lived her life. Just keep moving, always moving. Though the really fantastic thing that made her stand out was the large straw hat that sat skewed to one side. It perched just right to fall over one of her eyes, a cigarette tucked under the other side, behind a long ear. As she neared, Lolicia was making sure everything was in order; coat wasn't running away, short black hair hung neatly from under her hat, almost even let open her jacket but decided against it. I guess it's not like it would really matter to Penelope, but a girl's got to look her best, right? I wonder what other teachers are still arooooo- Her thought was cut short by the sight before Lolicia. Penelope was drinking as usual, not surprising, but she wasn't drinking alone! And boy was the other girl a looker. A beautiful splash of red, such cute short hair, and a friend of Penelope? How could Lolicia complain.

"You haven't changed a bit, Penelppe dearest!" While Loli herself may have changed quite a bit, her voice still had it's childlike charm to it. Even when she came to a stop, standing next to Penelope, she didn't actually stop. Body slowly swinging, Loli shifted her weight from one foot to the other, even staying perfectly with Penelope's rhythm that she remembered so well. Having overheard Penelope's last couple comments, she chimed in. "Sounds like QCA hasn't changed a bit, but now I am not the one causing a fuss!"
Lolicia's deep blue eyes shifted to the girl sitting across from Penelope, a sweet smile on her face. "And who is this lovely flower?"

                I'm in a better place. I won't forget that.

                I am here:
                I am with:
                I feel:

Penelope seemed to be, mildly concerned about her suggestion of curbing her bragging somewhat. She spoke a few slow sentences in response, ending with some light-hearted laughter. She smiled and added, "Wouldn't wanna see you get canned, you know? I'd have to leave campus to meet up for drinks in that case." Hmm, perhaps she'd end up a drunk too at this rate. Well, at least she wouldn't be alone.

Eden raised an eyebrow as Penelope mentioned something about learning to celebrate from dwarves? The older teacher often said some questionable things, but she supposed her statement didn't really seem anything other than straightforward. She joked, "Did you learn to drink from them too?" She'd heard dwarves could hold their liquor pretty well, though she'd never met one herself.

Eden listened intently as Penelope recounted some tales from the past few years. Nothing too crazy, but Eden had a laugh listening. Before she could think of anything to say in response, a foreign voice had addressed Penelope, saying she hadn't changed a bit. She'd said the same thing, hadn't she?

Eden turned to face the newcomer, but she really wasn't prepared for what she saw. An elven woman wearing a rather eye catching outfit stood before her, swaying slowly in place. It took a moment for Eden to take her eyes off her, hoping her staring hadn't been too obvious. Just act natural Eden. Keep drinking. Eden took another long sip, avoiding eye contact with the stranger, When she up again, asking Penelope about the "lovely flower", Eden choked on her drink.

She managed to set her glass down and catch her breath after a cough or two. Normally, such a compliment would have gotten just a slight blush, but given the embarrassment of her extremely obvious reaction, her face was currently beet red. Could she blame that on the alcohol?

Now teeeechnically, she'd asked Penelope, and Eden was flustered enough where she was mildly tempted to just fly away, but opening her mouth, for some reason, seemed to her like the best idea. "Uh, E-Eden. My name, I mean. Is Eden." This was going well already. "I'm the new music teacher. Here, I mean. At QCA, of course." Perfect. Everything she needed to know. Eden decided now was a good time to shut up. She took another long sip of her drink. Was it a bad time to ask Penelope for a refill?

She raised her eyebrows with an agreeing nod about the getting fired, though blind woman had been through worse situations. Penelope formed a rather smug grin on her lips when Eden asked if she learned how to drink from the Dwarves, “ 'a, they wish. More loike oi taught dem a few things.” She snorted as she took another sip of her drink, her braided hair shifted as she moved her head. She learned to drink way before she met them, possibly when her age was only two digits. For being as old as she is, one would think it was impossible to recall her early years, but not for Penelope. There were no images that would surface, only sounds, tastes, smells, and textures. Her mind did not dwell on the thought; she did not want to unbury old feelings.

Penelope chuckled as her ears detected a familiar voice; she aimed her face in the woman’s direction, “ Well 'owaya, sproyt.” Penelope grinned as she placed her glass down onto the table; she heard an all to familiar phrase from Lolicia, “ Yer nu, oi 'av been tinkin av gettin' a new 'airstyle, maybe sum red.…” She chuckled as she waved her hand past her oddly braided hair. She could not resist the joke. The blind woman could care less what her hair looked like, she never put much care into it, “Lolicia, gran' ter 'ear yer again, an' 'appy ter 'ear you’ll be joinin' de cru too” She smiled towards the woman. She lightly pressed her lips together as she heard the two communicate, her head made a slight tilt as she heard Eden’s shy response, “ Eden, both yer an' Lolicia are returnin' Alumna…” She paused for a moment then released a short sigh, “ Ah, nigh i’m feelings auld…” She muttered as she refilled her own glass, “ Care ter join de 'ooley?” She asked Lolicia as she lightly pushed her magical bottle flask to the center of the table.
