A large dining room filled with folding tables and chairs. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served here, though students are not required to eat at the cafeteria. Food is free, but due to budget concerns, seconds are generally not allowed unless the student has increased calorie needs. There is an attached kitchen separated by a half wall where students pick up their meals on plastic trays.

Gαвяıeł Bяαđføяđ "A witty saying proves nothing"
I am here: Cafeteria With: No one ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗Gabriel had woken up relatively early that morning. Earlier than the rest of his friends, for sure. It was the first day of classes, and Gabriel's first day as a college student. He wanted to make sure he got a strong start to the semester. After all, the early bird catches the worm, or some dumb saying like that. He showered and got dressed in a blazer, grey sweater, and jeans. He felt like it was the perfect blend of formal and casual--the perfect first day wear. He would appear well put together, but not like he was overdoing it.
After sending a quick text to his still-slumbering friends that he was heading to the cafeteria, Gabriel left his dorm room. He still hadn't met his roommate, but he figured there would be time for proper introductions later. The previous night he had been rather upset and spent the rest of his night alone in his room, even after his roommate had come back. And then this morning, he was gone before they were even awake. He headed to the cafeteria, making his way silently through the line and picking up a plate of french toast, a glass of orange juice, some bacon, and an apple for his breakfast. He sat down at a relatively unoccupied table, and started to eat his meal. ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

One does not know their destiny, Nor the sacrifice it takes. But when a purpose is revealed, A new person it makes.
Now bound by life and name Though weight is all but the same. Life brings the weight of expectation. Name brings the weight of lamentation. The halls looked so different with morning light streaming in, brightening the beautiful arched ceilings. Reshwyn was still in awe as she glided down the hall. Behind her was a small girl, slightly shorter than the already short Reshwyn. She kept close to the princess, just shy of stepping on her heels, and quietly fiddling with the edge of her red dress. "Come now, Rin, you look absolutely delectable," Reshwyn chimed back to her friend and retainer as she peeked over her shoulder. The princess herself made sure her own blue dress was in order, pristine as always. "I wonder what breakfast will be like. Maybe a scone... some strawberries... oh, maybe they will have those uh, macaroons I think they were called." While Reshwyn's thoughts went to that of sugary delicacies, a small, girly voice came from behind her as Doerin finally spoke. "You know you mustn't have so many sweets, Wyn..." "Yeeees mother~" Doerin spoke up again with a small huff, "and this is just so much shorter than I am use to..." "Well it suits you quite well, dear." A little giggle followed the statement from the girl in blue.
After navigating the halls for a little longer, the pair finally reached the cafeteria. Previous navigational skills of the palace back home was proving to be quiet useful in learning the academy's layout. Heading straight for the food, they were left wide eyed and just about drooling from the smorgasbord before them. While Reshwyn looked down toward the sweets end, Doerin was looking at the stacks of breakfast meats. "Meet back here in ten?" Doerin nodded before heading off.
Not too long after, the two girls returned together, with their respective trays. Reshwyn had just what she described before, and was very proud of herself. The smaller girl in red, though, had a plate of breakfast sausage, ham, and applesauce. "Ah, a lovely cup of tea to wake me up, and I see your usual milk?" "Yes, but I do hope there will be rabbit tonight. That would be heavenly," Doerin quickly retorted. Reshwyn just smiled and gave her foxy friend a little pat before turning to find them a table.
A quick scan later Doerin's eyes fell upon a suitable table with but one occupant; quite the well dressed boy who she wouldn't pin to be the loner type from just looking at him. Hmm, after last night, I feel like I am in a friend making mood. Best to polish up on my diplomatic skills, yes? Reshwyn nodded to herself before ushering Doerin to follow her toward the waiting table. Stepping up opposite to the boy, the princess put on her best smile with a slight tilt to her head and a slow blink to add to the picture. Trying too hard? Never. Doerin was standing beside her, just a slight step back as she was still getting out of the habit of always being in her charge's shadow. But as usual, it was Reshwyn who spoke first. "I beg your pardon, but do you mind if we sit? If you would like some company that is."

Gαвяıeł Bяαđføяđ "A witty saying proves nothing"
I am here: Cafeteria With: Doerin, Reshwyn ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗Gabriel was chewing his french toast and scrolling through his phone when he felt the presence of someone walk up. Looking up from his phone, he caught the sight of two girls. One was looking at him confidently, wearing a blue dress covered in constellations that complimented her light blue hair nicely. The other girl was standing behind her, wearing a pink dress that on her short frame made Gabriel think of an elementary schoolgirl. He smiled pleasantly at the lead girl as she looked at him, blinking slowly with her head slightly tilted. Was she trying to be cute?
His smile turned into a smirk at the thought, and he glanced at the two girls' hair again. White and blue were unusual colors for humans, but it could happen, especially with hair dye. He decided he would give the girls a chance, for now. If they turned out to be inhuman, it was no skin off his nose. He would just say he was finished with breakfast and leave. "Go ahead and sit," he said with a smile, gesturing at the empty seats across from him. "My friends haven't woken up yet, so you'll get my undivided attention," Gabriel said with a big smile, somewhat sarcastically. He didn't intend for it to come out cocky, more playful and friendly.
After the girls sat down, Gabriel asked them a question that would seem innocuous, but would help him determine if the girls were human or not: "So, where are you two from?" ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

The cafeteria door burst open and slammed against the walls with a loud crackling bang. A determined young witch stood in the entrance with her arms held out to intercept the doors that tried to swing back, “HOLD YER FORKS- AND SPOONS...too I guess...hehe” Althea shouted off the top of her lungs to get everyone’s attention, though she had already achieved that with her loud door slamming entrance. Her hair and clothes were still dripping wet, it looked as though she had ran for miles to get there. The witch did not mind the others students watching her; her true goal was to be noticed by one particular person.
Agnes, her lunch lady muse with a hairnet, and beastly potato salad recipe. Good ol’ Agnes was the only lady who could sprinkle sparkles on her mornings. Althea’s gaze traveled over the hushed crowd of students towards the lunch counter. Her eyes fixed on the old woman whose age could be counted by the geographic wrinkles on her face and wobbling turkey neck that sagged far down to her chest, and her pale veiny cheeks. The woman’s face was surprisingly calm, though it looked as though it had not moved in ages. Althea stared deeply into her shimmering sunken eyes. The witch was still as the two continued to stare, until the old woman rose up her boney left hand with shaky thumbs up. Althea’s eyes twinkled with joy, she happily skipped over to the back of the lunch line, and she patiently waited her turn to claim her prize. She released a small squeal of joy for each step she took. She paid no mind to the students that continued to stare.
Althea’s happy expression began to melt as the student in front of her began to give her beloved Agnes a hard time. He had his eyes on the special plate of food Agnes had set aside for Althea. Agnes did not utter a single word but only gave a small shake of her head. The student continued to persist until the hungry witch stepped in.
“Hey Fart Sparkles, you wanna have special French Toast from Agnes you better treat her like the damn queen she is!” Althea hissed in the student’s face. The student awkwardly backed off and quickly settled with a bowl of cinnamon oatmeal before he retreated from the strange witch, “Yeah, that’s right-hmph!” She sneered before she turned her gaze over to quiet Agnes, “Thank you again Agnes, you are my morning star.” Althea smiled at Agnes, as the old woman handed her a plate of French toast topped with jellies and berries and a side of eggs and hash browns and sausages. Agnes’ face moved only to smile as the young witch grabbed the plate and went on her merry way. She found a cozy table, well as cozy as a cafeteria lunch table could get. The table was slightly warm beside the window, soaking up the warmth of morning sunlight. Water still dripped from her long damp curly locks, she shifted the ends of her long hair onto the seat beside her as gravity was starting to become an unwelcomed friend to damp hair.
Before she was about to happily dig in she noticed a large sweet mound of yellow fruit sitting on the other side of the table. The witch had never seen so much pineapple on one plate, “Holy Neptune! That is a glorious pile of pineapple!” She said as she held her hands over her eyes like binoculars and aimed them towards this plate before she pointed them but towards the one who feasted on the pineapple. A male with a dark complexion and very little hair, the two almost looked like exact opposites, “...But tell me…with that much pineapple, does it feel like it is eating you?” Althea jokingly asked as she lowered her hands. Some random Snapple fact popped into her mind, something about the acidity of pineapple being strong like stomach acid, or something like that. The details were rather foggy but she was too tickled by the thought not to ask. Her talk about pineapple peeked Fuzzy's curiosity, he peered out from her hair to look at the plate of pineapple. She looked down to her own tasty meal; she used her fork to cut a corner from her french toast and happily took her first bite. Her body began to move, she lightly shook her shoulders. An odd habit she had whenever she enjoyed her food. Her friends back home would call it her happy food dance, “I envy your stomach, my name is Althea, pleased to be your morning table buddy!” The young witch said with a smile as introduced herself; her left cheek was stuffed with food. She paused for a moment as she realized she said a lot of odd things in one sentence.

Reshwyn Words: Dark orchid Thoughts: Teal
Doerin Words: Forest green Thoughts: Coral "Ah! It seems as if lady luck would smile upon us this morning."
Reshwyn was overjoyed that she had gotten past the first step in a diplomatic situation, the terrifying hello! Now everything should just flow out, right? Friends? Oh my, this might be an even better situation than I thought. If I can get on good terms with him now, when his friends get here I will have someone to back me! Reshwyn had been worried that it would take her a while to find herself a good group of friends to help her through her time at QCA. She must put on her best face and nail this interaction! It would save her a lot of trouble going around and meeting more people, even though she would eventually still need to do that.
As Reshwyn sat, practiced movements brushing out her skirt and making sure it all flows neatly around her in a perfectly ladylike mannor, she looked over her morning breakfast mate. He seemed quite well kept and fairly handsome to go with. Looking his best was definitely a priority to him, as was the fact that it was so well coordinated. He didn't so much seem to have an air of importantce or athority as she was use to seeing back in court from all the nobles trying to show off, but more so a relaxed confidence. Nobility as well? No, it was too early to tell. Doerin quickly followed the princess, sitting as close as she could without ruffling their skirts together. She too kept the same air as Reshwyn, ladylike movements that kept her dress in order. Her soft eyes also took in the black haired boy, thought didn't linger quite as long before dropping to her food for a moment. But attention was quickly shifted back to the boy's question as she politely waited to start on her food.
"Ah, home? We hail from just beyond the norther border of Aeston, the trade town of Moraenia and the gateway to the Icelands. So coming to this wonderful city is a touch familiar, and yet in such a different light. I can't help but feel excited." Reshwyn was again the one to respond, keeping her composure calm, yet bright as she was taught so well back home. The thought of home just made her smile more. "And what of our kind, morning companion?" Doerin piped up, asking the boy across from her, just as curious as he seemed to be.
But before an answer could be provided, two things happened in quick succession. First was Doerin's attention being pulled away, a somewhat familiar scent reaching her nose. Doing her best to be descrete, she did a quick scan just beyond the boy across from them. I could have swarn that was the scent of... 'Francis,' but curses, I have no vantage from this angle! Could it just be breakfast playing tricks on me? But before much thought could be put into it, a second interuption broke out. The loud voice of a girl boomed through the cafateria as a student made quite the entrance, which continued through the food line. Reshwyn couldn't help but let out a soft, cute giggle. "Seems like there are quite the lively students who attend this school. Thankfully makes for an eventful school year."

She looked him in the eyes while he spoke, he had her full attention as she would with anyone else. She liked the sound of his voice; it reminded her of the sound of stag hooves trampling over damp forest floors. This time she chose to keep that to herself, when she recalled Mr.E’s reaction to her words at the bonfire yesterday, often she would picture bits of nature when she listened to people, it reminded her of home. The witch smiled as she continued to listen, water droplets dripped onto the table from her hair as she leaned a little more towards him,“Yeah, I get those cravings sometimes- Hm, it’s been a while since I last ate pineapple too. I can never tell when it’s really ripe- Don’t like sour surprises.” She said with a sour face, she stuck her tongue out a bit.
“Ha!” She loudly snorted at his response to dangerous dinning, “I used to think that way, last time I ate something dangerous my whole body turned purple and fuzzy for a whole month…Well, I wouldn’t say used to, the experience was at least 9 out of 10, I had fun startling my little sister, and the neighbor’s cat- oh there was that one squirrel too- HA, and the mailman…oh wait, he’s still seeing a therapist after that- guess it wasn’t all that funny- but that face. Pfft. I’d do it again for laughs- well not scaring any mailmen…” Althea rambled on, as she showed a multitude of expressions. She slumped back into her chair as she thought about the poor mailman until the pineapple loving student she shared a table with revealed his name, “Ha, Lloyd-What an interesting name.” She complimented;Lloyd…lllllllllloooooyyyd, Floyd, bloyd, zloyd- wait is that even a thing? Then the other ones don’t seem real either- ugh focus Althy! Lllllloooydd…rythms with Floyd, makes my mind also think a void, let this help me remember the name! Althea did her routine mental chant to help me remember a new name. She treated it like a spell, it worked very well but she was not sure if it was really magic that helped her.
She noticed Fuzzy had curiously poked out from her hair; she raised her hand to greet her purple friend with a gentle pet of her finger. She softly rubbed in a circular motion over the tarantula’s purple carapace. Fuzzy responded by wrapping his front legs around her finger and gently rubbed his long black fangs against her finger without piercing her skin. The actions looked quite hostile and sudden but the witch simply smiled as she new her tarantula friend very well. Althea looked to Lloyd after hearing his question about ritual dancing. What seemed like shock quickly melted into vibrant amusement. Fuzzy seemed to be taken back by his question when he suddenly released her finger and crawled down her arm onto the table. Althea did not seem to react much to the tarantula movements and casually went on.
“Dancing for Agnes? Pfft-No, the dancing was all me, I don’t contain my emotion very well.I was just excited. First meal of the day is oh-so-important, ya know?” Althea said with a brief giggle, “Agnes is a friend of the family. My mom asked her to keep an eye on me.-” She paused as she slowly leaned over the table towards Lloyd and raised her hand beside her mouth to quietly share a secret. More water droplets fell onto the table, “She has a crush on my uncle, I’m TOTTALY rooting for her. I think she spoils me a little cause she wants to get closer to him.” Althea said with a giddy smile, “If there is something you want I can ask Agnes next time.” Althea said with a smile before she dug her fork back into her food and scooped up a mouthful of egg and sausage. Althea ate her meal as if it were the first time she ever ate such delicious food. Her enjoyment seemed more genuine than any TV chef or food commercial model. Althea did that with every meal, and loved every bite as if it were the last. She would probably thrive in the food porn, but her mother would never allow it, or had she ever considered the idea, “So Lloyd, are you a first year student?” Althea curiously asked after she finished chewing her food, and licked away any lingering flavors from the corners of her mouth.

Gαвяıeł Bяαđføяđ "A witty saying proves nothing"
I am here: Cafeteria With: Doerin and Reshwyn ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗Gabriel gave a small chuckle and smiled at the girl as she said that "lady luck had smiled upon them". It really was such a cute thing to say. He watched her as she sat down, her every move calculated and practiced. She was someone who was used to being watched, and had to make sure every move was perfect. Her white haired friend was equally as poised, and he gave them a pleasant smile. The blue haired girl seemed to be studying him, no doubt making snap judgement on his character, as he was doing with them.
When the white haired girl explained where she was from, Gabriel's head tilted to the side and his eyes grew wide. Moraenia, in the Icelands? It was one of the few cities that outsiders were allowed in, just on the border of the Icelands and Aeston. He didn't know too much about it--he'd never visited the Icelands, unlike many of the other lands in Eimera. "Too cold," his father had said. There was only one significant thing he could think of happening in the city recently--someone had tried to assassinate the princess, but had failed. His father had been quite shocked at that bit of news--Moraenia was one of the more stable cities in the Icelands, without as much infighting. For someone to attempt to assassinate the princess was a grim sign.
Unfortunately, that told him basically nothing about what the girl could be. The royal family was human, but he wasn't sure about the demographics in the city. For now, he would go on the base assumption that she was human. If it turned out she wasn't, it was only one breakfast, not a commitment to being friends. He would just have to avoid anything more significant until he was sure about her race. The white haired girl asked where he was from, referring to him as their "kind morning companion". Gabriel's smile grew bigger, but before he could answer, there was a loud commotion at the doors of the cafeteria.
Gabriel turned in shock, never hearing a single person come so loudly into the cafeteria before. It was some girl with purple fluffy hair that he had never seen before. She was dripping wet, and just overall seemed a mess. Gabriel watched her with mouth agape as she entered the line for food. The blue haired girl's words brought him out of his shock, and he turned back to face her. "Yes, there certainly are some loud and interesting characters here," he said with a laugh. Who exactly did that girl think she was, behaving like that and disturbing the peace?
"As for your question, I'm from Aeston. The city of Oredale to be specific," Gabriel told the girl. He almost launched into his speech about how his family had fought in the phantom war, and had been attending the school for generations. But would the girl care? She was from a foreign country, so the idea of his family being war heroes might not have mattered to her much. Instead, he opted for something else-- "My name is Gabriel Bradford. It's a pleasure to meet you two lovely ladies," he said, extending his hand across the table to the blue haired girl. Once she shook her hand, he would extend it to the white haired girl as well. ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Ethan Wishart If there is no place for me in this world, I will create my own.
I am here: cafeteria I am with: alone I feel: a little bored
The night of the festival was the first night since the end of last year that Ethan had spent in the dorms. He’d spent the summer with his moms, and while having a family was nice in it’s own way, it was something he wasn’t quite used to. In short, he appreciated the space, and was glad to be back.
He hadn’t spotted his roommate yet, and he was wondering if he’d been assigned one yet. It was possible they’d missed each other so far, but it also was pretty common for some rooms to be left half open for any students who arrived at the school late. Rather than worry about it, Ethan got himself ready for the day, and then went down to the cafeteria for some breakfast.
After grabbing some fruit and oatmeal, along with a cup of hot tea, Ethan looked around for an open seat. He didn’t spot anyone he knew. Well, anyone he knew and liked. It was hard not to know Gabriel Bradford, especially if you weren’t human. It hadn’t taken long for Ethan to learn to avoid him. Someone else caught his attention as well. A rather loud and animated purple haired girl. He didn’t necessarily dislike people like that, but . . . maybe he’d just eat alone today.
Ethan took a seat at an unoccupied table, and ate while glancing occasionally at his phone. Dessa had texted him, telling him to have a good day, and to say hello to Ms.Dovark if he saw her. He smiled lightly as he typed out a response and hit send.

height:4'6" weight:~50lbs profile: link classes: link▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁ The fae had dropped into bed completely content~! Dancing with Terra and Sena had been so much fun, the energetic girl had happily led with dancing, or at times tried to copy some unfamiliar dances from around her. For being the smallest, weakest, and most out of her element of the trio, the fea’s personality seemed to have made her leader for the night. She’d not even realized in the slightest that she had been the one to choose every activity! She had been far too busy admiring Sena and Terra, and just generally trying to have fun.
Alas, Iridis’s dreams were not as sweet. Rather, her newfound fear of not being widely accepted by her classmates that had sat in the back of her mind, ruminating, expressed itself in dark laughter and clawing hands in the setting of what her mind could cobble together of what a class would be like. She would always have been nervous about her first day of classes, but that brief run in with Gabriel had added another layer to that anxiety. Being too weak, and failing miserably, had found themselves a companion fear to nibble away at the back of girl’s mind.
Waking up was a lonely ordeal. Her parents weren’t here, not any of her friends, there was no one to tell about her fitful sleep and unhappy dreams! Humming, she sat up and swung her legs out of bed, shaking her head vigorously. No! She could do this! She should be excited about class, and seeing more knights in training! Waxy wings fluttered as Iridis smiled, believing that a smile could lift her spirits.
Not more than forty or so minutes after the flower fairy woke, she found herself in the cafeteria, seeking breakfast. Big, dark orchid eyes flitted around the room, mouth slightly open as she considered the food options. Did she simply ask for food? Or, was she meant to get it herself? Did she pay somewhere? Mmm, the vendor stalls of yesterday had been much more clear to her as she’d watched how people interacted with them. Hmm. Oh! She could just ask for he-
!!!
Quickly, the fae stepped back, having spotted the mean man from the day before. H-he hadn’t seen her right? Sena had truly shown him up the day before, but without the confident knight by her side, the flower fairy was decidedly afraid of the man. Moving quickly towards a table, she sat down, nibbling on her lower lip as she hoped to be less visible this way. She glanced to the other end of the table, blinking as she saw the little horns atop the head of the boy sitting alone. ”Like your antlers~” Not one to be shy, Iridis led with a compliment, although her voice was low like she was trying to be quiet. Waving in greeting, the girl glanced first towards Gabriel’s location, and then over towards the food, before landing back on the boy. ”Am Iridis. Uhm, can you tell how get food? Not sure if pay.” The soft scent of flowers would have slowly worked its way around the table, a side effect of the fae’s presence.

Reshwyn Words: Dark orchid Thoughts: Teal
Doerin Words: Forest green Thoughts: Coral As the cafeteria began to settle back into it's morning rabble, Reshwyn found herself in a happy glow. It was quite refreshing seeing something so... silly, as it was the polar opposite of the stale courts back at home. If there was an outburst, it was someone trying to bid for power, or get their point in over the other loud mouthed nobles. No, this was much more fun, and even calming, for Reshwyn to be part of. Granted for Doerin, the rabble was a bit more for her to keep tabs on in order to keep her charge safe, but the relaxed, happy vibes that Reshwyn was giving off helped keep her white haired friend calm as well. Reshwyn's attention was also pulled back at Gabriel's words, nodding to his comment. His laugh seemed genuine and hearty, though she did sense a slight disdain behind it. Probably old habits of hers, though.
The princess had almost forgotten her question when Gabriel brought it back up, head tilting slightly to the side at his answer. A hand rose to her face -- fist closed, pointer finger gently tapping her cheek in a slow rhythm -- as she tried to place the city. She had a brief lesson on the neighboring countries back home, especially Aeston, but there was just so much that she was still trying to take in. Before she could remember any specifics, the boy introduced himself and offered his hand. Reshwyn smiled once more, returning a dainty shake to Gabriel before he turned to her companion. Thankfully Doerin had been keeping so calm or she may have hesitated to take this gesture, but instead she accepted with a small smile of her own, and a slight nod of respect. But as Gabriel and Doerin shook and parted, a hand went to Reshwyn's chest as a small gasp escaped. "Oh goodness, how silly of me! How could I let you introduce yourself first, where are my manners! I am Reshwyn Glaiderre, and the pleasure is most irrevocably mine." She bowed a little herself, hand still gingerly placed upon her chest. Aaaaaa, how could I forget the most important diplomatic step! For friendship introduce yourself first to offer the olive branch, not wait for them to introduce themselves. Goodness! Doerin giggled softly and placed a hand on Reshwyn's arm to try and settle her charge before looking back to Gabriel and responding in kind. "And I am Doerin Owendale. Please treat us well."

I am here: Cafeteria With: Reshwyn and Doerin ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗Gabriel's mouth lifted in a half-smile as he watched the dreamy expression on the blue haired girl's face as she took in the chaos around them. The cafeteria certainly was a lively place, and Gabriel remembered his first experience there after being home-schooled well. It hadn't been the happy glow the girl surrounded herself with. His reaction had been more like her white haired friend's, calm surveillance of everything that was happening at once. It was so new, so interesting, that he didn't want to miss a single detail. The blue haired girl nodded in agreement to his words about the loud girl, and Gabriel gave her a more sincere smile than his laugh had been.
When he explained where he was from, the girl cocked her head to the side. He watched her finger as it began to tap-tap-tap her cheek with sparkling eyes. That was such an adorable mannerism, although it did tell him that she wasn't entirely sure where that was. He couldn't be upset, though. If she had named another city in the Icelands, he would have had a similar confusion, balling his hand up to his mouth as he tried to place it. Maybe he could tell her a bit more about his home city one day?
He extended his hand to the girl after introducing himself, and she placed her dainty hand in his. Her handshake was carefully practiced, while dainty her hand wasn't a limp noodle. He shook the white haired girl's hand next, and returned her small smile and nod. His brow rose when the blue haired girl gasped, dramatically placing her hand on her chest after he finished shaking the white haired girl's hand. He wasn't entirely self-absorbed enough to think that her dramatic reaction was because she had finally recognized his name, or something like that. Her following words, however, answered the question. She was shocked at herself for not introducing herself first. Gabriel gave her a chuckle, his eyes crinkling.
"Your manners are just fine, Miss Reshwyn," he said to the girl with a smile. Her name seemed somewhat familiar. Had he heard it before when he was reading that news story about the near-assassination? She still had her hand clutched to her chest, as though she has committed a grievous blunder. Maybe, where she was from, she had? Her actions were clearly well practiced, and such a lapse was clearly shocking to her. Her friend put a hand on her arm, trying to comfort her. After a moment, the white haired girl introduced herself as Doerin Owendale, and said a phrase that made Gabriel feel as though he had been shot. Please treat us well. Why did he feel such guilt at the girl's words?
He gave her a smile, masking his confusing inner feelings. "Of course," he said, but his mouth felt dry. Orchid eyes filled with tears came to his mind. He certainly hadn't treated that flower thing well. Trying to shake the thought from his mind, he took a sip of his orange juice, trying to remove the cottony feeling from his mouth. He wasn't entirely sure if he meant the "of course". He still knew nothing really about the girls, except where they were from. If they turned out to be non-human, there was no way he could treat them as well.
Don't get sentimental, Gabriel. Those monsters don't feel the way we do, His father's voice rang through his head. That was right, wasn't it? Even if these girls turned out to be non-human, they wouldn't feel as sad about his abandoning them as a human would, right? The rationalizations didn't do much to get rid of Gabriel's sense of unease, however. He just had to hope that his face had remained a blank slate, as he had been trying to hold it. He needed to ask something to distract from the guilt in his chest-- "So, uh, have you joined any clubs yet?" Gabriel asked, wincing inwardly. That didn't exactly come out smooth. It would have been more appropriate to ask about classes first, but he wasn't sure how he would react if he heard her list one of the magic ones. ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Ethan Wishart If there is no place for me in this world, I will create my own.
I am here: Cafeteria I am with: Iridis, also kinda everyone else I guess I feel: She seems nice
Someone . . . liked his antlers? Ethan glanced up from his phone upon hearing the compliment. Before him was, a colorful young lady who had taken a seat across from him. She was kind of soft-spoken, but clearly didn’t shy away from others. Not that Ethan was the most intimidating person. As she waved, Ethan noticed her glancing around slightly. Was she looking for someone? He followed her gaze, but quickly glanced away when he found himself staring at Gabriel again. Looking back towards the flowery girl, Ethan wondered if she had she been unlucky enough to have met Gabriel already.
Putting that question aside, maybe he should repay the compliment? He ought to thank her at least. As he responded, his gaze slip upwards slightly, to the top of her head, “Thank you. Your uh, petals are neat too.” Is that what he should have called whatever it was on her head? Hopefully she’d understand.
Next she was introducing herself, and asking for help getting food. Hm. Did that mean he was the nicest looking person with a plate of food in front of him? Not that he minded helping out an underclassman. He smiled and responded, “Nice to meet you, Iridis. I’m Ethan. You don’t need to pay, just grab what you want and show the lunch lady your student ID.” Ethan took a sip of his tea, and then added, “And, if you’d like, you can come back and sit with me once you get your food.” She seemed pretty nice, and maybe he could convince her to join the archaeology club.
