Rules:
Do not use the lineart provided for anything but this hiring thread. All work posted must be your own work. We will hire at our leisure. Even if we like someone, we may take awhile to hire them. Primarily because we need time to discuss if we even need a new member, time to review that persons behavior in the shop before, and also to consider if that position is needed at that current time. NEW! If you are brand new to the shop, this puts you at a disadvantage... We don't know you! We welcome applicants from both newbies and oldbies, but we will need to get to know anyone who applies before considering them for a staff position. This thread does not close. Embi is in charge of hiring! Ember does take in to the considering the critiques of the entire staff team, but the ultimate decision lies with Embi. Embi often watches this thread. If you are not chosen, don't sweat it! Lots of things are taken in to consideration. If you have not heard from us in 30 days it is safe to assume we are not going to contact you- but fear not! We may just be in a lull and not need additional help. You are welcome to reapply as time goes on. NEW! For colorists: If you ask us for critique, we will be honest with you. We will not be hurtful, but sometimes applicants' skill levels just aren't what we are looking for at the time. If you receive a critique that indicates you are not ready to work for the shop, keep practicing! The only way to get better to is to keep drawing. You are always welcome to reapply when you feel your skill level has increased. If you edit your form, please include in red the time and date you did so at the top of your form. We have our staff credit system public! Please ensure you're comfortable with payment before applying! Loremasters help us create lore, manage quests/RPs, and work on META's. Their job is to work with Yushika and nepsah to create the world the customers play in! We need a lot of help creating information and more hands on deck, so we're opening up Loremaster positions! We are seeking to hire at least 2 new Loremasters.
Responsibilities:
Creating new lore and expanding on the information already present. Help to run events, especially META's. Have a hand in all new racial lore. Manage RPs and ensure they fit within the world. Manage and approve quests. Answering lore questions to the best of their ability. Seek approval before adding lore to the guides or making them canon. Work as a team with all involved with lore (which includes other Loremasters, the General Manager, and Co-Owners).

Nightmare Academy has been gaining quite a bit activity! We've realized that we need more hands on deck for coloring and would love to open the doors and add some more colorists! We are interested in adding at least 2 new full-time or part-time colorists. We are not looking to hire any Guest Colorists at this time.
Full-time Responsibilities:
Coloring at least three characters for any major events, should they be needed. Finishing breedings and customs within a timely manner (30 days) Grow characters within a timely manner (30 days) Be willing/able to take on free work, such as RP point customs, quest raffle wins, or monthly birthday frankens as needed. Produce clean artwork and fix any mistakes when they are brought to their attention. Keep in-mind racial lore and limitations on coloring! Some characters cannot have certain traits, and others can! Help to run events. Have a hand in racial lore of races they create (unless they would rather pass) Work as a team with other colorists. Work with Loremasters to provide specific premades for major events as needed
Part-Time Responsibilities:
Color at least three characters every two months. Color at least two characters for any major events, should they be needed. Finishing breedings and customs within a timely manner (30 days) Grow characters within a timely manner (30 days) Be willing/able to take on free work, such as RP point customs, quest raffle wins, or monthly birthday frankens as needed. When applying, keep in mind NMA has 3-4 major events that you can usually count on happening: Haunted Hallows in October, Winter Solstice in December, Hunter's Jubilee in February, and a late spring/summer event that varies in its dates. These are events that will require Colorists- small events are thrown throughout the year depending on what Loremasters or individual colorists have planned.
Application Samples: While we welcome people with all sorts of art styles to apply, we have a general aesthetic here at NMA. Styles with particularly hard shading/highlights or painterly styles may be better suited for different lineart. : ) If you are unsure of what style to go for, be sure to check out some of the Nightmares/Daydreams in the drop-offs to gauge what we already have here in the shop! Your lines should be similar to what the bases have- a basic pen tool will do. Binary (used in pixel art) lines are not acceptable.
When you are making your samples, be sure to save a copy that does not have the clothes on it - all Nightmares/Daydreams should be able to get a wardrobe update later without having to redo the entire thing.
The following features are okay to add to the samples:
Custom faces Custom Tendrils on Geists/Geist Hybrids Custom horns keep in mind that no custom horns should be smaller than the base horns provided. Hybrids may have mixed features from other races! This means if a Geist and Imp breed, they can have tendrils and an Imp tail, or even have tendrils on their tail.
The following is not allowed:
Extra limbs or new body parts Spikes, unique ears or tails, etc. Features that break canon lore. If you are unsure if it breaks lore, review the racial lore posts or ask a member of staff for clarification. You may not mix horns from different races in Hybrids - i.e., an imp/bapho may only have horns from one of their parents, a set of imp AND bapho horns.

Please do not post your samples anywhere but here in this thread. You may show them to other shop patrons, but staff are not allowed to give you critiques. We want to see what you want to make, without us prodding you in a specific direction. If you absolutely need a critique, you may ask for Embi-lamb to do one for you once.

Certist Search: CLOSED
We are currently looking for 1-2 new certists to assist with the current certing workload. Our main certist has acquired a job and has requested help. If you're interested, please use the form below!
Responsibilities:
Working on a team with your fellow certists to follow a certing schedule. You will need to communicate with one another to determine who will cert on which days. Follow the certs as an example. There are certain sizes that things need to be re-sized to. We'll give you the low-down on that once you've been hired! Be knowledgeable about certing rules. Create new dorms for newbies. Drop certs in to dorms. Fixing and correcting certing errors. Re-organizing dorms for those who request cert swaps. You will need to have access to PhotoShop or another program that allows for text layers, pngs, resizing, and multiple layers.

You can make up the names and details for these kids for the sake of certing! This way you won't have to go looking for their correct info! Do not be afraid to use your own certs as examples. We'll be looking for someone who can match the certs as closely as possible, and personality will also be a big factor. We have a large team and we need to make sure we can all get along![/size]
We are currently looking for a new guild manager to join our team! If you like working on large teams, love the shop, and like doing lots of little tasks that help keep the guild organized and running smoothly for colorists, this may be the position for you!
Responsibilities:
Working on a large team with many personalities. Updating all guild lists as required. This includes the owner list, custom/breeding trackers, event win trackers, etc. Maintaining and updating the template thread! Homing familiars to correct dorms/characters/users. Colouring familiars and trinkets for events. Be familiar with shop lore to answer ask staff channel questions in the discord server. Manage the RP point thread by keeping track of people's RP point claims, etc Must be comfortable editing and writing BB code. Anything else that needs doing! You will need to have access to PhotoShop or another program that allows for text layers, pngs, resizing, and multiple layers. Keeping track of back-up pets and keeping event pets and back-up pets organized on the server

Are You Familiar With Lore: At this point, I would say so. I review and double-check the lore subforum frequently. I make sure to confirm that a lore fact is in play before I run off with an idea.
What Are Some Ideas You'd Like to Contribute: My ideas are primarily for explorations, new areas, and story events that people can incorporate into their roleplays (and eventually join in on themselves). The potential events could range in scale from a brief interactive news flashes to lengthier "legitimate" metas. A new race idea is in the bundle, but ideally, I would stick to what we've got (in terms of art assets) to avoid taxing the colorists too much (unless they're open to the extra work, haha).
Why Do You Want to Work For Us?: NMA has a unique atmosphere and a compelling lore of a sort that's difficult to find these days. I would be honored if I could assist in building the world's story and making it shine even more.

Why Do You Want to Work For Us?: I love this shop, I love to art when I am stressed. I also feel that the fact that I LOVE full customs and reference-heavy customs makes it so I fit in the shop nicely.
Anything Else: PLEASE send me critiques. My art is ALWAYS changing always evolving sometimes it helps to see the opinion of others. Line Art is my favorite thing to do. Shading not so much, but if anyone ever needed anything lined I'd love to help.

Rather then one large cert dump once a week, or whatever, I'm more likely to try and tackle one or 2 posts a night so there isn't a huge backlog of things to cert. I will quote movies randomly.
