A few hours later you and your guide make your way out of the tunnels and out into the open. The feel of the dry wind and hot sun reach you and you realize that you have been led out of the city and into what seems to be a large city built at the base of the mountain. You can see people dressed from rags to armor made of chitin walking around.
"This is what good running away brings. Welcome, sir, to one of many rebel posts." The man says, gesturing grandly at the small city, a grin spreading across his lips to reveal several missing teeth. "You wanted to strike at the city? These are the people to help you, or rather you help them. Or... you can go back through those tunnels and try to find your way elsewhere. Up to you, sir."

Takera followed the man throughout the tunnel paths for what seemed like hours. The man was very silent and seemed to have his mind about where he was going. It was a little easier for Takera to accept that his decision might have been the right one since he felt no malice from this man. After quite some time they had finally reached an exit to the cave. A bright light shined in, bathing over the man and Takera illuminating everything. Takera winced at the bright light after having been in the darkness of the tunnels for so long. He rubbed his eyes and slowly opened them. As his eyes adjusted he was astonished to find that it was practically a village all it's own out in the desert. Takera could feel the heat beating down on his partially exposed face. He decided it was best to leave his hood up for now as the sunburn might be nastier than just generally being uncomfortably hot. Takera's breath was stolen in a quick moment as he took in the sights of the large city base before him. He glanced around the scenery, taking in the appearances and clothing of those throughout the area ahead. The whole place was splendid in it's own right albeit giving off a strong feel of the populace being 'rag tag'. Takera nodded in acceptance of the man's statement towards running away. Takera's eyes happened to pick up the sight of the man's toothless grin as he looked over the city. Albeit the loss of teeth, he seemed confident.
The man continued on to give Takera the same ultimatum he originally proposed, but Takera was already here. The time had be spent, it's better that it not be wasted in back tracking. He took a deep breath and relaxed for a second before straightening back out and turning to the man. "Would you mind telling me your name, sir?" Takera asked, though impatiently he spoke before getting an answer. "And, is there perhaps somebody in charge that I could speak to? I have a lot I wish to discuss.." Takera paused for a moment with a look of concern. "The city seems quite well. Is there perhaps a water source nearby you were able to tap into?"

The man frowned, "A water source? There are many throughout the desert. Some well hidden, others well known. The mountain itself has it's own that flows through the entire range, it pools at the base of it where the mines are... however now that I think about it, I don't know where it flows in from..." Turning away from you the man walks off into the crowd and continuing on in his own thoughts.
Standing at the entrance of the city from the mountain you can get a good look at the flow of the city. By the center you can see a congregation of people around what looked to be soldiers.

Takera listened as the man gave a general idea about the sources of water in connection to the mines, noticing the man's discontent. The man simply turned, ignoring all the other questions, and walked off into the crowd appearing to be lost within his own thoughts. This gave Takera yet another bad feeling. He felt as though his being here might be a mistake, but it did him very little to leave without some means of help or at the very least some important information. Takera peered into the crowd looking for any familiar faces, but then immediately caught sight of something farther on ahead at the entrance of the city. There seemed to be a gathering of people around what appeared to be soldiers.
..Soldiers? Takera thought to himself. He felt compelled to draw in closer and see what was really going down. He slipped into the crowd, hood still up and disappeared from sight for a moment before drifting in behind the gathering and watching the events that were unfolding before them.

The call to arms is raised among the rebels. Soon the large mass files out disorderly into the tunnels leading back into the city. It is easy to see the blood lust in the eyes of the men and women. You can see that several generals and a large force of soldiers hold back, watching the movement of the rebels into the tunnels. You are left with the decision of following the rebels back into the tunnels or to remain behind.

The crowd shifted as Takera reached the other side. He soon realized what was actually taking place. As the civilians parted to either side or gathered in the center, a mass of people were heading back into the tunnels. The blood lust clearly visible in their eyes. Something big was happening, though from appearance Takera wondered if perhaps these people were only out for blood as opposed to any strategic value. He glanced back across the remaining people only to find something more valuable to him at present point. He could make out the sight of a large force still remaining just up ahead of him. At the fore front of this force were rather noticeable figures that one might only assume were Generals, or high standing military individuals. One of them happened to stand out the most. He had to be at least seven feet tall, but his sheer mass was that of a monster. Takera scratched the back of his head through his hood. Aside from the giant, he wasn't exactly seeing anyone from his intel that fit that person's description. Well, it's now or never, I suppose.. Takera thought to himself as he broke out into a few light strides from the edge of the civilians out into the open in direct line of the generals not far from him. He lifted an arm and began to wave, a slow sway of his arm. "Yo." Takera spoke up to the Generals as his eyes glanced along them looking for reactions. "Got a minute? I need to talk to whoever is in charge." Takera said quite bluntly. He kept his other hand in his pocket and studied them carefully not sure of how they might react to an unknown like himself.

The giant of a man glances at your direction, "The herd is leaving you, little man." He grunts before turning to walk away, several of the generals following behind. However one stays behind watching you carefully.
"Is there something you need? Were you not properly equipped for the raid?" The general asks, his eyes looking at your merchant clothing with a frown.

Takera locked eyes for a moment with the giant. A bead of sweat rolled down his cheek. More than just his size, there was something else. The feeling wasn't anything of the ordinary. He sighed heavily after hearing the giant's remark. Herd? ..Really? he thought to himself as he happened to notice one of the generals still facing him. He seemed as if he were sizing Takera up. The man asked in earnest if something were wrong. Takera realized immediately that this man was judging him off his current appearances. Takera walked up to the general with a steady pace, stopping just outside double his arm's length. "Equipped? Do you have something more substantial to offer than what the others in the tunnels were carrying? If not, I'll have to make due, but.. there is something else I have my eye on, and speaking of which. I may or may not have some information that might interest you. That is, assuming the others aren't fearing away from the coming fight." Takera spoke confidently as he places both hands off to each side open palmed, gesturing with his body language to bolster his confidence and bring more appeal to his words.

The general sighed softly, glancing back to the retreating generals. 'Merchants... never can be humbled.' Looking back to the man before him, the general crosses his arms before his chest, "Unfortunately, no. You will have to make due, but if you have any information pertaining to the mission at hand out with it, otherwise you might end up missing that very mission."

Takera frowned as the man sighed watching as he glanced back at the retreating Generals. The General crossed his arms, which came across as a reclusive body language. He was blunt with Takera, pushing that the information need be spoken before it's too late. Takera eased his shoulders as he let his arms fall to his sides. His head hung down an inch or two, the hood causing a shadow over the top side of his face.
A wolfish grin spread across Takera's face as he adorned 'the role' to the best of his limited experience. Takera reached back into his back pocket pulling free three marbles that he maneuvered from his palm to the in-betweens of his fingers. The marbles were a marvel to behold under the radiant sun light. They shined brilliantly. Takera drew the hood back slowly, the wolfish grin prominent--a complete copy of the one that he had bared witness to recently with the merchant and the man that lead him through the tunnels. He tossed a marble from between his middle finger and index finger into the air, catching it between them as it came back down. The entire time his eyes were locked with the Generals. "You don't recognize me, do you?" He inquired of the General. "I suppose it has been some time since I really let go." Takera followed up.

The general frowned as he watched Takera, "I'm sorry but what? Who-". The man froze on the spot, his eyes wide with fear. His mouth gaped open, his feet stumbling over themselves causing him to fall to the ground. Hands held up defensively he tried to scramble away but toppled over again. "Please.. don't kill me. Please..." The man begged. His eyes held Takera's but it wasn't Takera he saw... "Mmm.. nah." Marble shot out from between Takera's fingers, peeling some of his skin as it span through the air and impaled the man's skull. The man sunk to the ground quietly.
"It's usually more compelling if you have a pink wig. At least purple, c'mon. The man said as he walked pass Takera, a wolfish grin spreading on his lips. Standing over the fallen general, the man sighed heavily, his hand running through his shoulder length pink hair. Shrugging he bent over and hoisted the man to his shoulder and turned to face Takera... facing him was the general in the clothing of a commoner... while holding the very same general on his shoulder. "Mind telling me what your goal was?" The pink had bled brown, the eyes were dark, the tone was dejected but... Sai grinned at Takera with the face of the of the general. "Hold that thought, we should hide this body and change before they notice us." Pointing to a nearby hut, he casually walked in.

It seemed as if his attempts to intimidate the man were falling apart throughout the process. Takera was too young and with nothing to prepare himself for it his appearance must've been much too lack luster to pull it off. The General spoke in confusion, but then immediately he began to fall apart in a level of fear that Takera has never seen, but experienced before. Takera's brow fuzzled. It was too sudden for the build up. Something just wasn't right. The man pleaded for his life desperately falling apart. His composure destroyed in only a mere moment. Takera took a half step forward reaching out slightly before hesitating. His character was one of a strong caring heart--an individual who suffered the most at the hands of the norm in a world as twisted as this. He urgently wanted to dissuade the fear of the man, but in that very moment a marble tore free with extreme rotation nicking the inner sides of his finger. It jettisoned forth embedding itself in the man's head in only what seemed like a split second. Takera's eyes widened, the hair on the back of his neck stood tall. A voice rang out from his blind spot that sent a horrifying chill down his spine.
>"It's usually more compelling if you have a pink wig. At least purple, c'mon."<
Takera felt as if he were moving in slow motion, his head turned under the weight of his fear burdened mind to see the figure motioning past him--Sai Orasakai. The wolfish grin completed the picture. Takera watched, his entire expression one of shock, the stress showed itself visibly across it's face from his weary eyes to the very color of his face draining away. He watched as Sai grabbed the man and hoisted him onto his shoulder. He was transforming rapidly to assume the man's complete identity right down to his voice.
>"Mind telling me what your goal was?"<
Takera could hear Sai's voice, but his fear was beginning to lapse into an uncontrollable rage. His head tilted down, memories began to flash through his mind like pictures of particular incidents. The battle field when hell rained down in the snowy plains. His comrades being reduced to crumpled messes. His body racked with a mind shattering pain as he was stopped flat in an attempt to flee with his brother. ..Zeru.. the thought echo'd through Takera's mind. A moment glimpsed forth in his mind. The moment in which he laid broken staring upon his brother's peaceful deathly expression.
Takera's mouth hung open for a second. He slouched a few inches, his arms draping down, he raised his palms up. His entire body pulsated as he released a breath. A dark purple mist seemed pour out from his breath before being carried off by the wind. His physical form was actually beginning to increase mildly in size as his skin began to change in areas and branch outwards. A single contact fell from his eyes into the palm of a hand that began to form claws from it's finger nails revealing the piercing green gaze of the one eye.
In that moment things began to gray over in his vision, a small stream of tears escaped his eyes despite the unchanging expression, a rather twisted expression. He gritted his teeth and in that moment--the world changed. As if time had stopped, things became grey and from a single spot only a foot ahead of Sai Orasakai a gathering of golden mist began to form a body. It was Zeru. He stared into Takera's eyes with a blank nuetral expression. One that would leave anyone to guess if he were uncaring or concerned. Zeru stepped up to Takera and placed his forehead against Takera's. Immediately Takera's eyes were carried forward to meet Zeru's point blank.
"Have you forgotten already, Takera?" Zeru asked. A warm smile spread across his face as his eyes closed. "I'm still here." Zeru spoke calmly before leaning back to a stand and turning back to glance over Sai. He frowned as he looked into Sai's eyes, only finding a cold darkness. Something that this world might consider it's 'embodiment'. Without returning his glance he spoke once more with a tone of great concern. "Don't get careless, Takera... Or you'll soon be joining me.."
As color returned to the world and time seemed to continue moving once more, Takera's expression changed to one of mild surprised, his eyes wide. He returned his glance down to his open palms as he leaned up to a proper stand once more. He drew in a great breath, his chest expanding. With a heavy exhale his body's transformation haulted entirely. The patches and portions of himself stopped exuding the miasma and a golden glowing border of mist began to encompass the corrupted portions of him. Quickly they enveloped the curse and his body returned to the complete purified form he normally carried himself in. The remainder of the mist separating from his body and being carried off by the wind brushing around them.
>"Hold that thought, we should hide this body and change before they notice us."<
Sai pointed Takera to a nearby hut. A stern expression crossed Takera's face. Sai's very presence still carried unimaginable weight despite having calmed his mind. As if his body produced the fear instinctually because of Sai's very presence. He watched as Sai entered the hut. Taking only a moment to re-insert the contact and return his eye to it's crystal blue color, he followed in tow not quite sure just what to expect, but completely on edge.

By the time Takera made his way into the hut he would find that Sai had already stripped the general down to his undergarments. He held the generals pants up with to the light in the small room and looked it over with a cursory glance before turning to face Takera. Tilting his head to the side he leaned against the table that held the dead body, arms crossed he pulled an expression that looked strange on the general's face. "I recognize you." The words hung in the air as the dark eyes of the general watched Takera carefully, his lower jaw wiggling for a moment.
Letting out a heavy sigh he dropped his arms and let the disguise down for the moment. It was a strange sensation and he imagined it would be an alarming sight to see as well. The features of the general melted away from his form as if it was painted on and someone had thrown a bucket of water, washing the image away. Bright blue eyes watched Takera now, "So... what was that? I'm not crazy about interruptions and that looks like you're not alone." The man let his hand drop to the table, his fingers idly drummed against the it's surface. "Ah, I remember where I've seen you... correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't you be dead?" A frown pulled across his features. Crossing his arms over his chest, he brought a hand to rub his chin. "Yeah, you should be... You were marked killed in action, I went over the files myself." The man began to pace the room, his words more to himself than to Takera. "I didn't kill everyone though, I made certain to leave a few survivors.. Ah, you went with Sorain." The name slid from his lips like a personal joke as he finally turned to face Takera once again, his palms on the table as leaned over it watching the boy carefully.
"Yes, that must be it. So explain to me: What happened to you, you're definitely different from before... you may be hiding it but it seeps from you anyways. And the strange chakra from before. And what exactly is your goal here, masquerading as me? Last person that did that ended up being my squeaky toy, you know of Notwen Uchiha?"

Takera pushed an arm through and slipped inside of the tent. As the tent cloth fell back into place behind him, Takera glanced towards Sai only to find himself distracted by the General's body laying across the table, stripped to nothing but his undergarments. Takera slowly moved off to the left side of the tent keeping his eyes locked on Sai. He watched as the legend was investigating the General's pants in the light before crossing his arms and tilting his head. Sai's focus finally reached Takera. Takera crossed his arms standing straight.
>"I recognize you."<
The words sent a chill down his spine. Takera noticed his jaw wiggle as the intensity hung in the air. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Is he.. mocking me? Takera thought to himself. As the tension seemed to let up, Takera's eyes widened. The General's appearance began to melt away from Sai. It was nothing like the basic transformations that most could do since their days in the Academy.
>"So.. What was that? I'm not crazy about interruptions and that looks like you're not alone."<
Takera frowned in frustration at the statement, the hand resting on his left bicep clenching tightly. He tilted his head down and continued to listen rather than speak and potentially talk over Sai. If he allowed himself to become steeped in the hatred, he might slip once again, and he couldn't afford to.
>"Sorain"< >"Notwen Uchiha"<
Takera closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "What happened to us?" Takera sighed as he looked down from Sai's face to the General's body. He shook his head and turned away from Sai. "My brother and I were taken by Sorain. When we came to we were under an incredibly strong jutsu that forced us to follow him in his travels, running constantly without much, if any, rest." Takera bit his bottom lip as he recalled the past events. "Broken down from the inhuman level of forced exertion, we were abandoned, and.. in our weakness we were taken captive by an underground group that dabbled in every illegal act imaginable. They forced us to do their dirty work, and in exchange for so much of it they guaranteed our release and freedom." Takera paused drawing a deep breath, his jaw hung open as he sighed heavily. "We were fools. We got careless and enjoyed ourselves too much the night before the day of our supposed 'freedom'." The hatred brimming in Takera's eyes. His arms dropped to his sides as his shoulders slacked. His fists balled tightly, they began to mildly shake. Takera gritted his teeth. "When I had awoken, I was in a field. I couldn't tell at first, but my body had been broken and beaten badly. I tried to recollect myself, but that was when I had come to face my brother, Zeru. He looked so.. peaceful.. as he laid there." Takera's voice began to crack. He paused a moment to regain his composure. "All the color was gone. He was dead. He was everything to me. All that I had left in this cruel world... I-I couldn't handle it. I broke down and blacked out for a very long time. When I awoke I was laying in a bed staring at the ceiling. The man who saved me entered the room to greet me. He told that he had found me amongst a field of bodies. Even though I was unconscious, I had been thrashing around in chaos making all of my wounds worse. The only way he could save me was do an immediate blood transfer. I didn't know it at first, but he was like those of us who carried a special bloodline. Though.. it feels more like a curse. Always, it hides just under the skin, threatening to break free, to destroy, to maim.." Takera paused turning back to face Sai. "He changed my name and enrolled me for special admittance into the Hidden Cloud Village." Takera took a few steps closer to Sai bending down to look him directly in the eyes. He found himself curious to see just what it was Zeru really saw in Sai's eyes during the earlier moment.
Takera leaned back, not breaking his eye contact with Sai. The thought of the name Notwen returned to the forefront of Takera's mind. He looked up and away from Sai as he thought about it. "I do. If I remember correctly he was a real thorn in my side until an opportunity came along." Takera smirked recalling a particularly satisfying ending to that debacle. His eyes glanced back down to Sai as he began retracing his steps through the questions. "Squeaky Toy..?" Takera raised a sharp brow. He shook his head. "The situation was simple enough. My team and I were sent here on a special mission to stomp out the rebels, ..as well as to acquire something particular from the royalty of the city." Takera reached back and pulled free the sack of marbles from his back pocket and laid them down on the table before Sai. "When I spotted these, something told me you wouldn't be too far albeit your seeming absence from the world over the years." Takera watched Sai's expression carefully. "I'm in a bind. Something caused the city to go into lock down and in the process one of my friends fled while the other was arrested by the guards." Takera stated before clenching his fists again, he gritted his teeth. "Kch. Nothing's changed. I'm still not strong enough to protect those close to me. In desperation, I tried to use the vagueness of rumors to use your influence. I had no real connection to these people and my bargaining chips were few." Takera kneeled to one knee beside the table, placing a hand onto the table for support before glancing back up to Sai. "I need your strength. I need to become stronger.. for them, if nothing else."
