UNEXPLODED FIRECRACKER

In another life Aodhan would have been the knight that saves the princess. Except this is not a fairy tale and he really was never interested in princesses anyway but all that charm and charisma remains the same. He hides himself behind it, not letting people know just what is on his mind, just how much what you're doing is bothering him ... Sometimes he wants nothing more to explode, to let it all out, but that would be telling and instead he keeps himself in a careful check. At least until someone finds the cracks and can work their way in.

SEARCHING FOR PASSION

Aodhan comes from a long line of artisans, primarily crafting glassware and silverware. Some of his earliest memories are of watching his father work a piece of glass over a fire while he sat and watched on with rapt interest. As he got older he realized that these things, while he was good at them, simply did not satisfy him. Working with his hands - crafting - came naturally to him but it was not satisfying and so Aodh found himself reaching out to try anything he could.

From academics to sports to acting to other types of art, he tried everything he could to find himself something that would stir him. It left him with something of a reputation of a jack-of-all-trades, master of none. The young man thought he might have found it with boxing and for a time he did. It paved the way for college, got it paid for, but when push came to shove he found himself unable to muster the desire to push for the actual career of it. He really did not want to rattle his brain anymore than he already had.

Aodh has found himself back home after being gone for four years in a town where people talked about him. About the possible career he could have had if he had just stuck with it and not walked away. Now he is the jack-of-all-trades again, back home and not even working the family business.

He connects with people but does not let them in and keeps them at a certain distance. If they see too much of him they might notice the empty smile or the lack of real passion in his life. He is searching for the thing that will give his life meaning, something he can put his all into. This has lead to him taking random job after random job around town trying to find something to stir him, much like he had done when he was a teenager.

He tells himself it's a foolish romantic dream to think he can find the one thing that can give his life meaning. That he should just stop, settle down, make a career out of something serious but he cannot even think of that. Aodhan cannot stop himself from trying to search and it's left him with the bitter impression that he never will. Not that he lets on to his friends, not that they really know just what is going on in that head of his. Just smile and never let them see the inside.

Heat and fire are nice to Aodh. Hot items seem less so when he picks them up, flames still burn him but not as badly. Even the sun pounding down on him seems to not scorch.
