Jaro made his weekly shopping trip, not to the nicer stores closer to the college, but one of the neighborhood markets that was closer to his home. The scrapyard predictably wasn't near the city center as to some it was an eye sore, and was slightly on the outskirts of what was considered to be a residential area. Each week he came to the market and strolled to local small stores for things he needed, never venturing further downtown unless he went to see his nephew (more accurately: harass his nephew). This week was no different than usual, up and down each aisle slowly because he had the time, look at everything and chat up any employee he recognized. He was currently looking over bottled sauces because his cooking skills were only so-so and if he was lucky he could ask that little store clerk for help picking one out if she came by. She turned the best shade of pink when he called her, 'lovely'.

Aodh was wandering the market, mostly looking for things that would catch his attention or helping someone if they needed it. He was between jobs again, the local temp agency would get a hold of him when they had another, and it left him with too much time on his hands. Too many thoughts in his head. The market was was oddly relaxing which he had not expected. Seeing all the various things that some people had made themselves made him smile and he found himself drawn to a booth with hand made jewelry. The intricate detail was something else all together ...

Jaro tucked a bottle into his shopping bag, looking smugly satisfied as he turned from the pink cheeked girl and took himself elsewhere. He browsed some fruit, turning over an orange in his hand before looking up through the crowd. He spotted a bit of blonde hair, nothing familiar, just the eye of someone who seemed always to prowl when he was out in the world. Generally nice hair would be connected to a nice body and then possibly someone worth meeting. The auburn haired man pursed his lips and tossed a glance at the back of the blonde, moving over a row to browse somewhere else out of sight and possibly get a better angle.

Aodhan was smiling up at the vendor, chatting with them about the process of working the wire and how they made the designs. It was something he had done for a bit himself, at least until it had not been enough to keep him occupied ... He was holding a pair of bracelets, woven chainmail bracelets, and raising them up to the sky to really inspect. It was a familiar posture, just because he always did have a good idea for detail ... The young man was taller than he had been last time he had been here. More filled out, but the blonde hair was the same - that same ridiculous pale shade - and the he still managed to only faintly tan, not heavily. His smile was another giveaway as he lowered the bracelets back down and was asking a few more questions. iloveyouDIE should there be jaws music playing or summat?

Jaro's new angle revealed the young man's identity... and he knew him. Aodh had worked for him years ago... before he'd gone to college. He was young and eager and- no not like that!!Jaro had actually enjoyed his enthusiasm for the work, his talent for it when he was interested, and the fact that he also may have been able to make him blush with compliments had been good fun. But he had been young then. Jaro actually liked Aodh. But he was just a kid. Now he was gone to college and back- now he was grown. Jaro was intrigued. He moved into the same row of booths but didn't approach, simply watched.

Aodh had learned to haggle, maybe even just enough to smile and be charming and get the price to be something more reasonable. He knew the cost of the materials and by talking to the creator, he had an idea of how much time it would have taken. It was absolutely something he had picked up from Jaro. Never mind that he was not that short, thin teen that he had been. Aodhan was taller, more fit from all the boxing, and carried himself entirely different. There was less uncertainty in the way he stood now. The bracelets he was still holding were a dark gunmetal color. It was rare that he even liked a piece of jewelry but these he did and - He looked away for a moment, silver-gray eyes scanning the crowd. Aodhan thought he had seen a familiar shade of auburn but he shook his head. The frown flickered away and the smile was back, that charming smile, as he resumed haggling.

Jaro found himself tempted, itching to interfere, but he didn't. He turned away when Aodh looked back, bending to tie his shoe- except he didn't have ties he wore slip ons or sandals almost all the time if he wasn't wearing boots in the workshop. By the time he rose again Aodh had turned away and Jaro moved closer, the booth right behind the blonde, but the opposite side. Right out of his peripheral vision.

The blond had just gotten the crafter to agree, his smile widening. His eyes were full of mirth and, for once, he was actually enjoying himself. Aodhan had forgotten how much he had missed the markets in Ashdown. "Thanks, ma'am, I really appreciate it." The bracelets were paid for and one slid onto each wrist, just to be balanced. With one final smile to the woman, he was turning to head to another stall to inspect. Still had that feeling he was missing something.

Jaro smirked and finally decided to make his move. He brushed past Aodh, near jostling him, but as he did so one of the bracelets was hooked in his finger and stolen straight from the young man's wrist before he continued steps ahead. Yes he was obvious but this was better than chatter.

Aodhan wobbled for only a moment, not expecting to be jostled. "Excuse me," he said, not even rude about it. As if it was his fault.The young man realized it immediately, the pull and then the weight of the bracelet gone. Aodh spent a solid five seconds not quite able to believe someone had lifted his bracelet so poorly before he was staring hard at the back of the person who had taken it. "Hey!" Aodh was weaving through the crowd of people, intent on catching them. That particular flash of red and dark skin and he knew them. "Oi!" Definitely having to weave his way through the people to catch up now.

Jaro walked briskly, just out of the market area and turned the corner. Instead of continuing away he leaned against the wall and waited, playing with the bracelet as he did so.

Aodh picked up the pace, having to jog a bit because he lost him in the crowd. He caught sight of Jaro turning and heading out of the market, down one of the alleyways that was not in use at the moment. The blond skidded to stop as he turned it himself, actually going a few steps past the other man. He turned on his heel and then held out a hand. " Jaro." It really was him. He knew it! "You know that isn't yours." Aodh could honestly remember the number of times the older man had lifted things off of him just to get a reaction. To make him react. Not getting a hello until he got his bracelet back.

"Aodhan." Jaro had a coy sort of smile, head tilted in greeting. The bracelt had been relocated onto his own wrist in the meantime. "It does look good on me though, doesn't it?" Jaro was fond of jewelry, necklaces and bracelets, beads and bangles he put into his hair or had the women at the hair salon do for him. He didn't look like he was going to give it back yet. "How long have you been back? And you didn't come to visit? College has certainly done you well..." Smirksmirk.

Whether the bracelet did or did not look good on Jaro, Aodhan had no comment. (It absolutely did.) Instead he was biting at his lip a moment. Right. Reassess the situation. He wasn't a teenager anymore and Jaro still could fluster him with a smirk??? "A month," he replied, shifting awkwardly on his feet and his hand falling to his side. Not getting that bracelet back quite yet. The smirk, the way he was being looked at ... It triggered that same kind of brief head duck before he met Jaro's eyes reaction it had years ago. "I've been busy." Another awkward shift, stop smirking at him. "Working."

It was good to know that Aodh acted just as he had before. If not for the appearance change, he'd be sure no time passed at all. "A whole month. I'm wounded." Jaro shook his head and sighed, straightening up from where he leaned against the wall. The bracelet was hooked on his finger and tugged off, offering it back. "What are you doing for a living? Aren't you supposed to seek your fortune after college?"
