At first, it sounded like there's a flock of birds nearby, with their incessant chirping a distant away. Easy to ignore. However, it became louder and louder at a shockingly rapid rate. Before they knew it, the flock of birds hit the party.
Starlings, finches, robins, magpies, pigeons and more. Hundreds of them in various species suddenly came flying out of nowhere, people would have to duck in order not to be hit by them. The flock seemed to be aiming right at the party goers though, as the main flock flew straight through the cafeteria doors and windows. Smaller flocks zoomed around the people gathered outside, bothering them. The chirping sound produced by such a large flock of small birds was overwhelming, screams and shouts were barely audible over such a shrill noise. The larger flock that flew into the Lab building was creating even more havoc as they flooded through the corridors and into the rest of the Lab building. Those that crashed into glass doors and walls died and fell to the floor, while the rest snaked in and out through the doors and windows.
The party was being attacked by birds ceaselessly, and no one knows what is really happening.

Dead birds littered the floor, the unfortunate ones that flew into walls and tree barks. The area, even inside the building, was littered with bird feathers and unfortunately, bird poop as well. What in the world happened just now?
It didn't took too long for them to find out.
Kyou, confused and still reeling from the shock, decided to check out what type of damage the birds had done to the rest of the Lab building. To his surprise, the door to his office was ajar. He was pretty sure he shut the doors when he exited it earlier today, and there was no way the birds would be able to break it open. Upon entering his office, he discovered to his surprise that two of his metal trunks where he had kept fel essences were forced open, and some fel essences were missing from them!
The birds were a distraction! The true target was stealing the fel essences!
Knowing this, his first thought was that he had to get them back, he has to find them! So he hobbled over to his desk on one crutch, opened his drawer and took out his fel essence detection device - an ornate board with a golden needle. (pictured here) Only to be surprised to see that the needle was going wild, pointing in every direction. This means that the fel essences are not in the same location, they had been spread all over the town!

Since there is only one detection device for fel essences, and the fel essences had been scattered all over the city of Gaia, Kyou had to whip up some quick magic in order to help with the search.
Each team will get a petri dish filled with water, with a silver sewing needle in it. The silver needle will help guide the team to the nearest fel essence that they will need to recapture. However, unlike the device that Kyou has that has a huge tracking distance, the silver needle in the petri dish can only track fel essence in a half mile radius, and it will cease to function by midnight.
Each team will also get a bag filled with a handful of empty glass vials and jars that is meant to keep fel essences within. Because Kyou has a feeling that the scattered fel essences might not be in their original vessels anymore. Inside each vial and jar is a small piece of paper with inscriptions on it. It is meant to draw in fel essences that has no physical form, such as fel essences related to sound or wind. However they will need to be fairly close to the fel essence in order for this to happen. This was also a last minute magic that Kyou came up with, because he will be unable to come with the teams for the hunt due to his... disability. He would only slow everybody down. Should the teams run out of glass vials or jars, they could return to the Lab where Kyou is for more.
Fel essences are radioactive, although they have a fairly low level of it.That is why they should be handled with care. The radioactivity of fel essences are harmless to Raevans though, so if permissible, it is best to have a Raevan handle the fel essence. If that option is not viable, it is best to protect yourself when retrieving the fel essence. Whether with gloves or other form of protection. It is best not to have skin contact with the fel essence, as it might have long term effects.
With that said, when the teams are ready, they should head out and search for the missing fel essences.

Fel Essence #60 Slithering Snake Skin
Coiled at the bottom of this jar seems to be just an old, wrinkled stretch of a snake's moulted skin. However, if you give it a tap on the glass or a shake of the jar, the seemingly dead and lifeless shedded skin will begin to move like a normal snake! Surely, this was just a skin that a snake had shedded a long time ago, something useless that had been discarded so that the snake could grow. But it was as if the skin had forgotten that it is no longer encasing around an actual snake, and continued to move like one. It doesn't need to feed on anything, but if allowed out of the jar, would still bite even if it has no teeth, nor venom for that matter. Fel Essence #61 Fragrant Excrement
A few pieces of cat poop sat at the bottom of this vial. One might wonder... WHAT THE ACTUAL s**t???!!?! But yes... these few pieces of dried cat poop are indeed, a fel essence. If you take a careful whiff around the cork of the vial, you could smell the smell of the poop permeating through. However, it doesn't smell like excrement at all! Instead you would smell the smell of soothing lavender, the smell of grass after a rain, the smell of a sea breeze even. All pleasant smells that draws you in, continuing to enchant you. Until that is, you realized you're taking whiffs from a few pieces of cat poop. The pleasant smell seems to change at random, and depends on the individuals.
There is no attempt to try and taste the excrement... yet. Fel Essence #62 Howling Wind
What makes the wind howl? Depending on a few factors actually. If the air movement is high enough and vibrates at the right frequencies, we would hear it 'howling'. We could also hear a howling wind if it is passing by fast enough between two buildings. Like the concept of whistling. However, this gust of wind is not flowing fast enough to produce sound. It just felt like a gentle cooling night breeze, but accompanying it is an awful howling sound that makes you feel uncomfortable. When looking up to the sky during a thunderstorm, a person can see lightning forking, branching, and zig-zagging across the sky just before a thunderclap. Lightning does this to travel the path of least resistance from point A to point B as the air of our planet is filled with all sorts of gasses, elements, particles, and moisture that makes it impossible for it to reach the ground in a straight line. Except this one. This particular bolt was affected by the magic of the Storm and shot straight to earth without forking which gave it the appearance of a purple-white spear. Although it hums innocently within its container watch out! It still packs the same deadly amount of electricity as any other lightning bolt! Fel Essence #66 Silver Lining
"Every cloud has a silver lining", or so the saying goes, but one particular cloud actually had this metaphorical glitter. When the Storm encroached upon the world and blackened the skies with rain, one little puff of a cloud strangely remained its normal white color. Once the Storm finally ended and all the clouds dispersed, the only thing that remained of that single unchanged cloud was its pure silver outline which floated safely down to the Earth below. Simply holding onto the jar that contains it makes anyone feel positive that nothing will ever go wrong and if it does, there will always be something very good waiting just around the corner. The states of water are taught in grade school science classes all over the world and no doubt any 1st grader would be able to tell you that water turns to ice when cold and steam when hot. As an Essence, it seems this innocuous pint of the most prevalent liquid on earth has got it backwards. As the temperature climbs, the water freezes rock solid into ice. On the other hand, when the mercury falls it vaporizes into steam. Best to keep it at room temperature at all times to avoid any mishaps! Fel Essence #68 Grapes of Merriment
A cluster of Concord grapes sits in this Essence jar looking as fresh and crisp as if just picked off the vine. However, upon touching one of the plump fruits, it bursts open into nothing but juice! But wait...is that the scent of alcohol in the air? Turns out these perfect looking beauties have actually fermented from the inside and each berry is a pint-sized pocket of wine! As if blessed by Bacchus, this stuff is potent; a mouthful of grapes packs enough punch to make even the most tolerant of drinkers start to feel tipsy! Fel Essence #69 Truly Lucky Clover
Deeply rooted in the Irish culture, and widely believed all over the world, it is said that finding a four-leaf clover by accident would bring you good luck. Even if this believe had yet to be proven. But what if there is a four-leaf clover that truly really brings you good luck? The past owners of this four-leaf clover would say so. Winning lottery, getting the girl of your dreams, bag full of cash dropping from the sky. A lot of good things had happened to everyone that owned this little four-leaf clover. With no consequences either. Unlike as depicted in movies, no misfortune befall these people after their good luck. The person that picked up the bag of cash had since invested the money into a successful business. The four-leaf clover truly brings only fortune.
However, for some reason the clover couldn't stay long in someone's possession either. Sooner rather than later, it will switch hands. Whether by accidentally dropping it or leaving it back somewhere, the owner will always lose it. It was as if it's saying that one cannot have good luck forever. Fel Essence #70 Unlucky Rabbit's Foot
In quite a few cultures, a rabbit's foot is an amulet that is said to bring good luck. However, this rabbit's foot does just the opposite. The foot's history had been ridiculed with misfortunate and even tainted with blood, literally. The spot of blood on the foot was rumored to had belonged to it's last owner before Kyou retrieved it. The man had been met with a gruesome end in some sort of freak accident. According to information that Kyou had gathered, at least three other of it's past owners had met their end before their time.
Traditionally, a lucky rabbit's foot had to be obtained a certain way, such as the rabbit must be found in a cemetery, on a full or new moon, or it had to be killed a certain way or on a certain day or date. However, one might also believe, how could the act of killing an innocent creature just to obtain it's foot bring good luck? Fel Essence #72 All Seeing Eye
A normal peacock's feather seem to rest inside of this jar. But if you look hard enough, the eye at the end of the feather will blink! Not only does it blink, but it seem to move around sometimes as well, as if it really is looking at something. Out of curiosity, Kyou had once tapped into the eye, trying to glimpse what the eye is seeing. Or even if the eye works like an actual eye, having the capability of sight. To his horror, not only does the eye able to see, it could see far more than he could have expected. Things not of this world, spirits, the past from someone else's eyes, and even into other realms. The eye will show you what it sees, and not everything you see is something that you wanted to see. Having realized this, Kyou severed the link between him and the eye immediately. What else could the eye see is yet unknown, but Kyou has a feeling that it could see far more than what he experienced. Perhaps even into the future...
Because of this, it would be dangerous if the eye fell into the wrong hands. Fel Essence #73
Poison Apple
Everyone had heard about the Snow White fairy tale, when the evil queen gave Snow White a poisoned apple, she took a bite and fell into a deep sleep. The story might just be fiction, but what if I told you the poisoned apple actually exist?
The apple within the jar might seem just like a normal apple, but the person that took a bite from it would beg to differ. Having eaten a piece of the apple that had been cut out, the unfortunate person was almost immediately plague by blurred vision, loss of balance, rashes, slurred speech and convulsions. All symptoms similar to deadly nightshade poisoning. Thankfully the victim was sent to the hospital just in time, and the doctors were able to deduce that it was belladonna poisoning, ignoring the ramblings about an apple. As the culprit sits quietly back at home on the dining table, it's flesh not even browning as most apples do. Fel Essence #74 Sinking Coconut
Coconut fruits in the wild are light, highly water resistant and buoyant. When a fruit fell from a coconut tree, the sea current will carry the fruit to a new land where a new tree will be grown from the fruit. That is why most coconut trees grown along the shore or on beaches.
However, this peculiar coconut has no buoyancy to speak of. When dropped into the water, it sinks right to the bottom like an anchor. If you shake the fruit, you could hear the coconut water splashing gently within, which means there are air inside the coconut. However it refuses to stay afloat, against all logic. When picked up as well, the coconut doesn't feel especially heavy, just like any normal coconut. How strange. Fel Essence #75
Upside Down Onion
Everyone knows that plants are supposed to grow with roots in the ground, drawing nutrients from the earth, and leaves are supposed to grow above the surface, processing light into energy for the plant to grow. However, this onion seemed to had gotten the wrong memo. As it's roots grow upwards towards the sky, and the leaves growing into the ground. Even with the hardness to penetrate dense earth, much like the most stubborn of roots. They seem to work as intended as their position though, the roots absorbing sunlight while the green leaves absorb nutrients from the ground.
