theodore penny TACITURN LUDDITE
It didn't take long after Theo arrived in Ashdown for him to conclude that it was populated by a bunch of weirdos. He doesn't think its citizens are moral degenerates or anything, despite his vigorously home-grown appearance, Ashdown's just a little... strange is all. Rumors of missing kids and people with horns can sway a guy, even one who's chosen to live here too. Theodore is a quiet man who likes rainy days, a strong cup of coffee, and a good book, preferably all at the same time. He's not a big fan of fancy phones though, or anything you need electricity to run. Except cars. He likes those. Theo's been fixing them up since he was a kid and they've always had an unspoken understanding.
troubles, past and present
NUCLEAR FALLOUT (12/2016 - ???)
Dorothy and Geraldine are gone. Theo is not aware that his daughters even existed. Still, he knows something has changed, many things, and for the life of him he cannot fathom why he moved all the way to Massachusetts to chase a woman who grates on his last nerve. He's being forced to open up as he tries to get to the bottom of his life, but it's a difficult task for someone who's one step up from being a shut-in. The prevalence of magic helps a little, pushing him toward people whether he wants to be pushed or not, but it is up to Theo to take the final steps.
NUCLEAR FAMILY (??? - 12/2016)
Just over a year ago, Theo and Bekki's divorce was finalized. Two months after that, she decided to move back home to Ashdown with their kids, leaving Theo to choose between relocating across the country or never seeing his daughters again. He chose the move.
Ever since he arrived, Theo has felt rather out of place. He had no real trouble getting an apartment and a couple of jobs, but friends are another story. It doesn't help that he's just not all that friendly. His life is kind of monotonous these days, brightening only when Dorothy and Geraldine come around to visit.
powers
WHAT'S THAT SMELL (RISER)
Any human within a radius of fifteen feet from Theo will lose the ability to smell any odors they find distasteful for twenty-four hours after activation. This effect reactivates every time someone comes within the required range, extending the twenty-four hour countdown until he leaves their presence.
RISER WARG UPGRADE
Upon growth to Riser, a warg will find that they now can communicate with their familiar. Though their familiar is not a scintillating conversationalist, it's now possible to be much more exact about information and to better use your familiar as a scout.
THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR WALKING (DREAMER)
The soles of Theo's shoes never wear out, the insides never rip, and the uppers never scuff or stain. The rest of him might get filthy, but his shoes will always be as immaculate as the day he bought them.
SYMMETRICAL CUTS (FIRST FRIDAY)
All Theo's cuts are perfectly symmetrical when he has a symmetrical design in mind.
WATCHMAN (OPT-IN)
Theo is capable of staying up for 24 hours straight without any appreciable loss of quickness, skill, or... anything. He's just up.
