These fashionable dreamers come with pre-determined powers - but that's about all we know about them! To win one of the cuties pictured above, please complete their profile with a High Concept and Trouble to compliment their powers!

The dreamer on the left is codenamed MODCLOTH and is by our staff artist endejester! The dreamer on the right is codenamed CARHARTT, and is by our amazing guest artist Rejam!!

[size=14]HIGH CONCEPT[/size][/align]A high concept is your character distilled down to five words or less. This is where you lay out your character's core pieces. Tell us what your character is about--what they do, who they are--and how they differ from others of their character type. How is your character going to be played? What sorts of stories will you tell? How do they fit into the world of Ashdown? This section is for broad strokes. You can go into more detail later!

[align=center][size=14]TROUBLE[/size][/align]Your character's trouble is their main plot going into the story. "Deal with their new powers" is not really a good trouble because everyone shares it, but "I have a problem because of xyz thing that I am/do" works a lot better. So "I accidentally light things on fire" IS a trouble, but a better example would be "Because I light things on fire, I have a standing warrant for my arrest with the Ashdown police department." They can be internal, stemming from internal turmoil or aspects of their identity, or external, stepping from an outside cause. It could be personal demons, family reputation, obstacles in the path of their personal goals…

While your trouble exists to complicate your character's story and give you fodder for plot conflict moving forward, it shouldn't take over everything your character does. There is definitely space for characters like Uchiha Sasuke, but that's not a character that will be easily knit into the storyline. Consider how you're going to interact with other players and characters as you write your Trouble, and it will pay off as soon as you get into the game.

We ask you to include this so that we can easily create threads linking your characters into the game's plot. Ashdown will have common prompts offering story hooks, rewards, or powers that would otherwise be unavailable.

This is where you put history and personality details that don't fit in the expansion of your high concept, relationships (for good or ill) your character has with others, etc. This is also where information like their age, the location of their main stomping grounds, etc. goes. TACITURN LUDDITE

Theo has barely been in town eight months and he already thinks you're a bunch of weirdos. Not in the "loose-moraled east coaster" way you might think, considering he looks about as American as baseball and presumably has some of those bible belt values in him somewhere (he doesn't), Ashdown's just a little... strange is all. Rumors of missing kids and people with horns can sway a guy, even one who's chosen to live here too. He's a quiet man who likes rainy days, a strong cup of coffee, and a good book, preferably all at once. Not a big fan of fancy phones though, or anything you need electricity to run. Except cars. He likes those. Theo's been fixing them up since he was a kid and they've always had an unspoken understanding.



NUCLEAR FAMILY

Just over a year ago, Theo and Bekki's divorce was finalized. Two months after that, she decided to move back home to Ashdown with their kids, leaving Theo to choose between relocating across the country or never seeing his daughters again. He chose the move.

Ever since he arrived, Theo has felt rather out of place. He had no real trouble getting an apartment and a couple of jobs, but friends are another story. It doesn't help that he's just not all that friendly. His life is kind of monotonous these days, brightening only when Dorothy and Geraldine come around to visit.

WELL-MEANING ENABLER

Do you want a thing? You should buy it. Want cake for breakfast? You totally should eat cake for breakfast. Want to enjoy the first nice, sunny day of the year? Take a day off and come hang out! Carin is very quick to enable you to do or buy what makes you happy, even if you don't necessarily need it or can safely afford it. Heck, she'll probably even help you get it! She does all of this with your best interests at heart; taking care of yourself is super important, after all!

POOR DECISION MAKING

Unfortunately, she's not immune to her own enabling, and is also very susceptible to being enabled by others. She has a hard time committing to saying no when a friend says do it, especially if she's already got it in her head that she wants the thing. More often than not she finds herself in a financial pinch with her job security in question. Not to mention the overwhelming stuff in her apartment that she just can't bring herself to get rid of.
