RPable Locations
Main Office - Once an inviting space with lots of plants and wide windows, the office could now more accurately be called The Umbrella Depository. Zelda spends time here occasionally, but these days the room is locked more often than not unless someone is undergoing the initiation ceremony.
The Security Office - On the first floor, opposite the main office. October can usually be found here, asleep half of the time with his umbrella in his lap. It's a smallish office, with an L-shaped desk that has broken computer equipment everywhere and several screens that were once used for, well, security, but now are pretty much useless. It's a good place to go if you want to get away for a while...
Resident Lounge - Couches. Chairs. Ottomans. Hammocks with pillows. Cushiony (if well-used) delights. Over time, most of the comfortable furniture scattered around the ground floor has been gathered here. Thanks Octoberbama.
Break Room - Back when the building was fully staffed, this room was off limits to residents because it was where Clearview's maintenance staff took their breaks. Now it's off limits (and locked multiple times) because it's where the food is stored. On top of a large number of cans and bottles of water, there is still a half-full vending machine in here, as well as a Ladies of Tim Horton's charity pinup calendar, neither of which you will likely ever see.
Cafeteria: - Already arguably the best place to gather because of its large size, the cafeteria is one of the few spots on the ground floor with a copious amount of natural light due to its glass ceiling. There is no longer any real privacy because that ceiling must be manned by security at all hours, but who's hanging out in a cafeteria looking for privacy anyway?
Sensory Deprivation Chamber Laundry Room - Small, cramped, dark, eerily silent. Still somehow smells of fabric softener a month after the outbreak, and as such it can be a comfort to those who are looking for a place to be alone.
Exercise Room - While none of the equipment that ran on electricity still works, there are balls of every size and color begging to be touched, as well as a kickass trampoline with only a couple of faded blood stains.
Roof - Take in the view while you can because it surely took a lot for you to get up here. The people who handle roof security pride themselves on making the climb every day, but they're all crazy.
Pool - It's hard to tell that anyone ever died in here, but they totally did. Still, it's the one outdoor spot residents are permitted to reenter the building from that doesn't require the salute, so if you need some vitamin D and are also forgetful, this is the place to be. Swim at your own risk.
The Sun Deck - Within sight of the pool lies the former sun deck. Though it is run down and ruined after a month of little to no maintenance, people still come out here to stick up their art and positive affirmations. If you'd like to hang something, PM your image and its title to Smerdle.

It was difficult to be bored during the apocalypse, but somehow Zelda was managing it. She had already patrolled all of her usual spots this morning, and though she had decided that checking the unclaimed umbrellas for defects was a good use of her time at this point, it felt rote and monotonous today. She sighed, looking up at the people gathered nearby.
"Hey! Anybody want to play a game?"

October was asleep.
He probably should have been awake, doing his job - whatever that was - but instead, he was sound asleep (and snoring lightly) on the overstuffed, ratty couch in the resident lounge, feet propped up on the armrest. His umbrella lay across his lap, arms resting atop it, and he hadn't taken off his glasses; with his head tilted to the side, they dug a little awkwardly into the side of his face, but he seemed neither to care, nor notice.
He kept snoozing away, oblivious to the outside world and anyone that might have been in the room with him.
If you manage to wake him up, he might give you something...

[ Roof ]
The spatula moved in a wave like pattern, back and forth, across the older stonework that was laid years - decades ago. The cement stood out dark against the bright - UV destroyed stonework all around it.
Okay, he had worked hard all day and it was finally finished. The apartment had asked him to come here to fix this and that and the other thing, and when those were done, surely something else was broken. Wiping his forehead and tucking the rag into his hip-holster toolbelt, he stood up at the patch work he did on the half dozen leaks that were being complained about. Ever since he had found shelter here, his skills as a contractor (aka. fixer upper), he was put to work constantly. On the bright side, he wasn't being put out on the street with those things that were wandering around. Those things that were insulting imitations of what once were.
A month has gone by and he still keeps his cell phone with him. It was a sliver of battery left. He turned it on and off occasionally, hoping with all he had that she might turn it on to a message or a missed call. Sarah wasn't calling. She wasn't messaging him. Maybe she had lost her phone, he had thought. Pushing down any negative thoughts that lingered in the corners of the mind, threatening to put worse imaginations in the foolish optimism's place.
Pulling out a paper, he looked down the list for the next job to be fixed up. "Seriously Zelda..."
Honestly, they live in an apartment. If there was an issue with one apartment, go into another one. There were plenty vacant ones now.
Just beyond the edge of the roof were the groans and shuffling of what was below. He didn't give them a time of day to look. He had other things to do than to remind himself of his situation. He was alive and He was still moving.

[Cafeteria]
It seemed like it was going to be another day in this zombie apocalyptic hell. Michael made his way into the cafeteria, hoping to grab a bite of something to eat.
"Eh? What sort of game?" he asked Zelda, making his way over to her table.

[[ Main Office ]]
Zelda wasn't at the Main Office today, that was okay by her book. He left the folded to-do list on the Apartment Manager / Superintendent's desk before shuffling into the back for a bag. This was his bag. There were many like it, but this was his bag. The one with the velcro name tag that read "M. Lame". Opening it up, he noted that it was empty. Slinging it over his shoulder, he was going to go upstairs and venture around some more. There were a lot of rooms left unchecked above the fifth floor. That was going to be his destination.

[Lounge]
There was clearly a person who was displeased by October's lack of doing a job. The doctor, dressed in a semblance of a doctor's coat to identify his profession had just finished bandaging and tending to some people. Having come into the lounge to check on his fellow survivors, he hadn't expected to find October sleeping. Standing behind the chair, looking down upon the (blessedly) ignorant male, and crossing his arms-
"Flynn." An attempt to call his name, with some impatient foot tapping ensuing.
"Goddamnit Flynn."
Granted Sho didn't have a good reason to wake him up. But there was something vaguely irritating about somebody resting when you weren't resting.
"You useless tosser." grabbing a pillow from a nearby chair, he didn't hesitate to throw it into October's face.
[ Sun Desk ] - ((I am off to bed, but anyone is welcomed to quote me so I can reply tomorrow!))
Lorena leaned in to look at a particular image that had been newly added to the wall, it was a photograph of a woman in her late thirties folding the hand of her little girl. Both were smiling, so happy, so not touched by this catastrophe. She sighed, wondering where her husband had run off to in such desperate times, didn’t he know they had to stick together? It would have been the sound thing to do, not leave her here with strangers. Granted she’d gotten to know many of these strangers, he still shouldn't have run away like that.
Shifting her eyes to the next image which had been posted, this time it was a message. You are alive, smile! Lorena chuckled softly, head bobbing up and down slightly in agreement. Indeed, she was alive! She leaned back again, taking a few steps back as well so she could get a better view of the whole wall. Her eyes roamed the pictures and messages wondering how many of their owners were still alive. But that was quite the morbid thought wasn’t it? Perhaps she’d put something there herself tomorrow or something. If her husband saw it at least he’d know she was alive and doing well.

LOUNGE
October was sleeping because he'd done work, okay. And by "work" it really meant that he'd spent all of five minutes taping up a tarp over one of the broken windows on the first floor, after which he'd deemed his energy entirely spent and had sloped over to the resident lounge. It was here that he'd found his favorite couch - the squashy, orange, slightly beat up one that smelled faintly of graham crackers - and curled up for his midafternoon nap, which would be followed by the all-important late afternoon nap.
Sho's yelling and foot tapping, alas, didn't seem to wake him up, October's face smashed into the side of the couch as he snoozed, but he did mumble something about umbrellas in his sleep.
Zelda shrugged and smiled simultaneously, placing the umbrella she had been examining on the table in front of her.
It was the cop. Nice kid. "Don't know. Majority rules."

Corven was bored out of his mind. Things were slow today he noted, people were...calm. He really didn't like this. He walked around till he came upon October in the lounge. Sleeping. Oh this was going to be fun.
His perfect target was right there. He hefted his prized plush a bit before smirking."HEY OCTOBER!" the male then lobbed the poor...innocent plush at the sleeping male's head. If that didn't wake him up...then perhaps pushing him off his perch would.

Rajni was for the most part, minding her own business. A small book with torn edges, yellowed pages, a little blood splatter on one corner from having to deck someone at the opportune time ...
Moby d**k. Boring stuff. She had no interest in the whales or the book's conflicts, but honestly? It was something to do. In this zombie apocalypse, something to do was better than letting your mind wander. Better to get caught up in Ahab's revenge boner than go insane from the lack of TV. God what she'd give for an episode of Always Sunny.
Zelda announced some kind of game, Rajni stayed quiet, watching. Not ignoring, just watching.

Huh. It was almost impressive if it weren't irritating..
Sho was ready to wake up October in a different way, when he was interrupted by the entrance of another person. "Could you be any less discreet?" Discreet equated to annoying, bothersome- but Shouichi didn't state it outright. He just rubbed at his temples in suppressed annoyance. "I imagine the success rate of your plush versus the earlier pillow is quite low, wouldn't you?"
Taking a step towards the next chair over, he half-sat, half-stoof against its arm rest, taking brief notes. He wasn't going to stand in the direct vision uselessly of somebody who may or may not wake up. Jotting down some quick notes from his observations earlier in his notebook- he was constantly aware, constantly observing, no matter whether it was his fellow survivos or the enemy that laid outside the walls.
not really too involved directly, just wanted to quote you though! >o<

The plush bounced off of October's head, rolled merrily to the side, and underneath a table. If Corven attempted to push him off the couch, he would just roll off uselessly onto the floor and continue sleeping, which was either very impressive or very freaky.
