EVENT RULES AND HOW TO [ General Rules and Regulations ]:
- DO NOT DELETE ANY POSTS. If you make a mistake, simply edit your post to reflect that you have erred, and make a new post!
- If you have any questions, there is a handy dandy Q+A thread!
- Please respect other players! Everyone wants to be able to play and have a good time, so please play nicely!
-This event is primarily focused on the RP storyline aspect. Please be FAIR to other players. If you are in an ACTIVE Thread and you cannot respond, please post in ooc that you will be afk for a while or have your character exit the thread.
- At the end of the event, there will be newbie / veteran nominations, so make sure to keep an eye out for anyone you think deserves a nomination! These will be user voted on.
[ Communication, Blast Chats, Special Events ]:
- At any point if you need to contact any of the GMs regarding extenuating drama, you may pm WE ARE HALLOWEEN. Otherwise, please use the Q+A. Our shop gms will be more than happy to help with battle mechanics.
- It is highly recommended that you join our AIM blast chats for teamwork and general info. If you would like to join our event blast chats, please do so HERE! This chat was specifically made for users to enjoy. Please abide by the blast chat rules thank you!
- Make sure you read the daily announcements before doing anything else. They will affect IC lore and event changes. You can have it bookmarked HERE.
- One major GM "WORLD EVENT" update will happen once every 48 hours. There will be prompts scattered in between, but the major ones are the ones that require a prompt from the user (minimum requirement) to get rp points in the future! Everything else is up to you and how you want to develop this character.
[ How this event works/ RP information ]:
- The Goal in this event is for your character to survive 7 IC days. This is easier than it looks, and you will see below a few rules that you will have to partake. Inactive characters will automatically be considered "terminated". Your character has the ability to survive around 4 days without activity. The main priority in this event is of course, RP.
- A GM will post a "major world event" once ever 48 hours. It is up to your character if they wish to interact with it, though doing so will majorly benefit their survivability. High risk, high reward!
- All RP points you make in this event you can transfer to another character you on. The only catch is that character has to already have 25 RP points or more so you aren't just growing a cardboard slate!
- Please disable sigs when posting in large ORP threads so people with slow internets don't get overwhelmed by pages and pages of sigs!
- Please type [ ENTER ] at the top of your post if your character is entering the area for the first time and [ EXIT ] if they are leaving for another area so people know not to quote them!
- Please USE AND INCLUDE THIS OOC QUOTE FORMAT WITH ALL OF YOUR RP POSTS. This will help everyone out. Don't forget to quote players you are talking to![spoiler][quote="OOC"] [b]Character's name:[/b] [b]Character's faction:[/b] [b]Character's journal link:[/b] Link to journals here [b]Character's survival stats: [/b] GO [url=http://www.thesporkedken.com/adopt/dayzerouser.php]HERE[/url] to search up your character and link to their bio! Make sure to plug in your character's ID. [b]BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER[/b] Description here to help people out as to what your character looks like. Feel free to include a LINK to their art and/or avatar.
[/quote]
[quote="HERE YOU SHOULD QUOTE ANYONE YOU ARE TALKING TO"][/quote] [quote="QUOTE MORE PEOPLE IF YOU ARE TALKING OT THEM"][/quote] [/spoiler] [ Different Thread Types and Meanings ]
- Your character can either be at HOME BASE (free reign orp with no worries about being attacked) or in a ZONE. Each ZONE has a subforum. You can only enter the ZONE your character is ICly in at the moment. In the zone you can choose from these options:
- EVENT ENCOUNTERS (MAIN ORP) : Major event orps will happen in these threads. Go here to obtain exclusive clues and secrets to this event! No PVP will be allowed in these threads.
- QUEST THREADS (QUEST RP) : Quest threads are threads that you can explore. You can view the list of them per zone HERE. You must roll through the instructed mechanics to try to get to the end of the infected thread, there where is always the chance of a reward! Be aware that there is also risk in entering these threads as well... There are also faction quest threads per faction, which you can read in your faction's main info threads. Those go in the faction home base.
- GM ORP THREADS (GM ORP) These are threads that are open for all players. You can attack other players here to obtain there loot, but you can also fight exclusive mobs in these high risk zones for better loot for yourself! The conditions for each thread are different.
- PRP THREADS: You can PRP in a thread, but be aware that low risk zombie encounters may happen. Please keep on reading below to see how mobs spawn in your own prp threads!

STEP 0: DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS The format of the meta and the storyline of the entire meta will be posted in daily announcements listed HERE.
[ GM EVENT UPDATES ]. There will be a storyline update usually once every 48 hours. This is the bread and butter of the event and how the plot progresses forward. Consider this the only mandatory part of the storyline, to continue forward!
- Your team may and WILL depend on you during GM event updates. In the event that an entire team heavily neglects a GM event update, it will be disbanded and the players will no longer have a safety hub! Make sure that you enter the event first, and then check out everything else later! Event updates last a minimum of 48 hours, giving you lots of time to fill out the usually simple prompts and posts!
- If you miss or cannot post in an event update that is no problem! Just skip to the next event update. As these are not precisely linear storylines but more "instances" that events happen at, you are free to jump back whenever you have an opportunity and help out your team/yourself as well for exclusive IC bonuses. YOU ARE A SURVIVOR: You are a survivor from day zero. It has been a month since the original day zero. Groups have been scattered. Food is now getting more and more scarce.
Around you, the city is barricaded, the bridges have been dropped and there is no way out of this city, many people have tried and failed. Your only hope is to survive, though rumour has it that a survivor has made contact with the outside world, and help is coming in only seven days
This is day one of seven.
Your character has no items other than what is in their minis inventory (see below).
Your character starts off in one of the four factions (see below). If you do not like your character's faction for some reason, or want to move later on, this is okay, you will need to contact Zoobey and request a move explaining why. Please only move if there are extenuating IC or OOC circumstances preventing you from rping your character otherwise.
If your character misbehaves in their faction or disobeys they may be ejected from the faction. This will make them a factionless character. Factionless characters have NO safety/safe zones to interact with other players.
You MAY encounter characters from other factions while searching around in the various zones. If this happens, it is up to you how your character personally proceeds in this situation. THE INFECTED: Infection contrary to popular belief does not spread with a bite. As this has been a month, all those in the event are immune to common infection (bites, scratches ,etc) from the infected, unless this character passes away.
[ The Infected ] The city is plagued with infected. These are humans that have not died yet, but are in their final stages of infection. Their bodies are in decay, and they have lost all sense of humanity other than base instincts. The infected may stay in this state anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks before finally passing away. These are generally easy to defeat. It is not recommended to kill them as they will always come back as the undying. Instead, it is highly recommended to disable them, usually by chopping off their already decaying legs and arms. The infected are surprisingly resilient.
[ The Undying ] If a character passes away, they will come back as one of the undying. This is a very horrific process as a mass of shadows form from the decaying/peeling body, and there is nothing you can do to get rid of those who become undying. At this point undying are possible to defeat: their appearance simply seems like a swarm of shadows with elongated limbs. Existing undying seem to gather in swarms together like thick clouds and are generally easy to avoid (just avoid the darkened areas of the city). An infected human who has been severely mutilated to the point of passing away will always come back as the undying as well. This process may take several hours to a few days. IN THE EVENT OF DEATH:There are several causes of death, make sure that your character is well maintained so this does not happen to you! Remember the goal is to survive! If you do pass away however, please post HERE for a "second chance" event.
[ 0 HP ]: If you reach 0 HP, there are still a few options for you. If anyone in the thread has a healing item and heals you within 12 hours of you hitting 0 HP, you will be revived with that much HP remaining. For example 0 + 2 HP heal = 2 HP. Your HP cannot go lower than 0
[ 0 Hunger/ 0 Thirst ]: If your survival stat (see below) on the minis site reaches 0, you will be considered instantly dead.
[ Special GM event ]: There are special GM events that come with thousands of OOC warning signs. However, if you choose to ignore them, you may be faced with potential instant (gmed) death.

STEP 1: CREATING A DAY ZERO JOURNAL- All players need to create a gaia_crown [ CHAPTER JOURNAL ]. Please do this before you read on any further. Use the form below to make your journal in this subforum. Post in the first post the code below. The rest of the posts are up to you - you may even post solos in your journal. STEP 2: KNOWING YOUR FACTION:All players start off in one of FOUR factions. Here are some general rules for each faction:
[ Faction hubs]: Each faction has a "hub" subforum. In that subforum, any orps/prps/rps done will be considered within the safety of that faction. In the event the faction is disbanded, the hub will be lost as well! All rps done within the faction are considered safe and non battle rps. You may only rp with people in your faction. You may rp in the hub at any time, even if your character goes out for the day to any zone, therefore you could have multiple hub and zone rps.
- DISTRICT 1 : UNIVERSITY - DISTRICT 2 : PRISON - DISTRICT 3: APARTMENTS - DISTRICT 4 : MALL
[ Faction info post]: Each faction within their hub has an info post. Make sure to read them as it explains info involving how it works, where it is located, and quests you can do for the faction!
[ Faction leaders ]: Each faction has 2-3 leaders, run by our shop GMs. There is one primary leader and 1-2 assistants. They will be there to icly interact with you at all times and their information will be posted in your faction's info thread. Please take advantage of them being around to give your character opportunities!
[ Faction ranks ]: Each faction has a ranking or "loot" system. This is an IC mechanic that may lead to item rewards as well. "Good" faction behaviour is rewarded within a faction. Read your faction's info thread for more information!
[ Faction quests ]: Different factions have different goals, called quests. You may pick 1-2 quests from the faction's quest pool per day to complete. These will give you faction IC rewards. Please refer to your faction's information thread for the list of quests. New quests may be updated throughout the event days. Faction quests should be done within the hub. [ FACTION 1: The Unis ]: exclaim [ READ HERE FOR FULL INFO THREAD ] exclaim - Location: Emerston University, located on the highest hill in the city. - Faction Leaders: - Student President: Corey Lane (Enoh Love) - Mascot: Charles "Charlie" Miller (Lilwolfpard) - "Department Head of Engineering": Dr. Caroline Kendall (Nothing Yet)
- Motif: An open book symbolizing the endless possibilities, and the Laurel wreath symbolizing why Emerston University is the BEST UNIVERSITY EVER. The university has a proud sports history with many of its athletes making it into professional sports. While the highest any alumni has ever achieved has been a bronze medal, the fact that they've been to the Olympics is a fact that this school doesn't hesitate to crow about. All faction members wear their school emblem, which is an open book.
- Facilities:- Private washrooms, shared laundry machines. - Health department. Maybe there's a health major or professor around to help patch you back up in case you're injured... - Different cafeterias to prep food, however most of the equipment is old. Some of the things should have been replaced ages ago. Some of it works, some of it doesn't. - Emerson U Library; it's a place that many students have heard about, but about a third of students never went in there for the correct intended purpose of studying. Emerson University boasts a very large library filled with many books that contain vast amounts of knowledge... Or at least a lot of flammable paper that can be used to start fires. Suggestion: start with the boring books first.
- Benefits: - Look at this Campus; Emerston U has a maze-like campus filled with many different departments that specialized in many different majors. If there's something you need, or something you need to look up, chances are you can find it somewhere on campus. - Working electricity; the engineering majors have managed to get the back-up generators running, however the campus is quite dim. - Running water; students are heavily encouraged to shower regularly despite the quarantine.
- Draw backs:- Unsecure; the dorm buildings were built with maximum occupancy in mind, not security. In addition, the dorm rooms themselves have thin doors and thin walls... - Undrinkable water. Due to no information about the current virus, the only safe water to drink is bottled water. You don't want to know who did what to the water tower. Again. - Incredibly Bad Lighting; in order to help save the budget, all light bulbs in student dorms have been replaced with energy efficient bulbs. These energy efficient bulbs have also been used everywhere in the campus. While there's lighting, it's quite dim and strains your eyes after awhile.
[ FACTION 2: The Crooks ]: exclaim [ READ HERE FOR FULL INFO THREAD ] exclaim - Location: Apple Minimum Security Prison - Faction Leaders: - Warden: Magnus "The Boss" Fury (played by Blade Kuroda) - Warden's Assistant: Micky Norm (played by Nio Love)
- Motif: A red ball and chain with a sword. It used to be a higher security prison built on top of an apple farm, however due to funding cuts it was turned into a minimum security prison where those who committed light, non-violent crimes (such as petty theft, embezzlement, fraud, etc) were sent to. Every former inmate wears a pair of handcuffs strapped to the same wrist as a sort of weird bracelet or an apple pin.
- Facilities:- Semi-private toilets in that there's a toilet in every cell.... buuuuut cells don't have privacy. Semi-private showers in that they're group showers. Do us all a favor and refrain from soap jokes. - Working kitchen and laundromat; warm bland prison food and clean clothes for everyone! - The Medbay; during the initial outbreak, a doctor fled to the prison and now takes up residence. In exchange for being fed and kept safe, they offer their services to give immediate and quality care to anyone who shows up.- This is a flavor NPC only and does not offer additional healing benefits.
- Benefits: - Incredibly Secure; nobody goes in or out without the Warden's knowing. - Working electricity; the prison has fully functioning lights and someone figured out how to make the fence charged with electricity. Everyone takes turns pushing fried undead corpses off and away from the fence. - Working facilities; all faction members enjoy fresh clean laundry and use of the gym when they aren't out scavenging. There's even a doctor on hand to give treatment to serious injuries!
- Draw backs:- No privacy; considering every room is a cell, your neighbors can both see AND hear what you're doing. The shower facilities are also shared. You're also pretty sure there's someone watching you through the security cameras... - Strict lights out; at 9pm every night, it's "lights out" and all lights inside the facility automatically shut off. There are no flood lights outside, either... - Undrinkable water. Due to no information about the current virus, the only safe water to drink is bottled water. Besides, nobody's replaced the pipes in years. The water has a light brown tint and a coppery smell to it. - The Howling Ward; when the virus first broke out, the local police managed to lock some people up. Unfortunately, while those people have died they've reanimated. While you're pretty sure they're locked up safely behind bars, you never know if and when someone could slip through the bars... It really doesn't help that the power is out in that area either. Until further notice, the Warden has advised all faction members to stay away from that particular part of the ex-high security prison.
[ FACTION 3: The Downtownies ]: exclaim [ READ HERE FOR FULL INFO THREAD ] exclaim - Location: Clearview Apartments, located downtown - Faction Leaders: - Apartment Manager: Zelda Collins (played by Smerdle) - Head of Security: October Flynn (played by kuropeco)
- Motif: An umbrella with four culinary knives. All members of this faction carry an umbrella or have an umbrella symbol somewhere on them. Members used to carry culinary kitchen knives, however after Frank from Apartment 160 slipped and fell on his while running from whatever was going on, the community reluctantly agreed that maybe knives were better off left in the kitchen.
- Facilities:- Private bathrooms, including shower/bath units and toilets. - No official medical facilities; survivors are left to fend for themselves. - Private kitchens, however no electricity means cold meals unless you pay a visit to... - Mysterious Chef on the Third Floor; apparently before the virus hit a famous TV Chef lived in the apartments. They've barricaded themselves in their apartment and refuse to come out. The only time the apartment door opens is if someone leaves food outside. Even then it's not open long; the mysterious chef snatches the food and retreats back into their apartment. Just wait a bit and the door will open again, this time to drop a plate of delicious smelling (and tasting) food outside their door.- This doesn't have any additional benefit, but at least Downtownies 1) don't have to cook themselves and 2) have the luxury of eating something delicious. Said food is also hot. How did they manage to cook it? The survivors will never know. - This is an NPC for flavor only. Any attempts to forcibly enter the apartment will result in the Mysterious Chef shouting colorful expletives at you. And refusing to feed you. And revoking your delicious food privileges.
- Benefits: - Running water, however the water is not safe to drink. - Privacy; there are enough rooms for all faction members to have their own apartment. Said apartments also come with an amazing view of the city -- just don't mind all the shambling undead bodies. - Secure; a key card is required to access the building. A security team is also on high alert 24/7.
- Draw backs:- No electricity; survivors must use the dark fire escape to go up/down the fire escape stairs. Said stairs are not lit. Did we mention the apartment complex is 22 stories tall? - Undrinkable water. Due to no information about the current virus, the only safe water to drink is bottled water. Clearly the government put something in the water. - Keycard required; in order to enter/exit the building, all faction members must use their keycard. This is an IC item only. They must also ICly have an umbrella. This will not be reflected as a minisite item unless they also obtain one in-game.
[ FACTION 4: The Mall Rats ]: exclaim [ READ HERE FOR FULL INFO THREAD ] exclaim - Faction Leaders: - Head Janitor and Key Master: Guy Riley (played by Marushii) - Bullseye Becky" Rebecca Fong (played by Molten Tigrex) - Jeff (played by lurks beneath)
- Motif: A pair of mall doors that someone threw money at. Members of this faction either worked retail, or were in the mall when the virus first broke out. All members of this faction carry a cheap plastic whistle that produces a shrill sound when blown. Members are also taught different signals, from “I need help” to “I’m being overwhelmed - RUN!”
- Facilities:- Public washrooms. No shower/bathing facilities. - No official medical facilities; survivors are left to fend for themselves. - Many places to prep food due to wide selection of restaurants. - The Everlit Arcade; while most stores in the mall don't have power, the arcade is always active 24/7. Since money is useless, all members of this faction have been issued unlimited arcade guns. Strangely enough, all the ticket machines are still working... and all the prizes are securely locked away behind the game counter. The only way to get them is to insert enough tickets...
- Any attempt to get the prizes with force will summon security, who will revoke your Arcade privileges. In addition, prior to your ejection your picture will be taken so that those who do have cards can draw all over your face in shame. Shame.
- Benefits: - Running water, however the water is not safe to drink. It's also out of taps. Taps that are in the kitchens and in the public washrooms. Needless to say, people are discouraged from drinking from the faucets in the washrooms. Just don't. - Semi-Privacy; there are enough stores within the mall for 1-5 survivors to make themselves at home. Ish. Did someone say "pillow fort"? - Variety of Facilities; need to cook something? There's loads of restaurants you can do that in. Need to do research? Good thing this mall has a tiny library! Or maybe you want to unwind? There's an arcade and a movie theater on the third floor of the mall that you can go to.
- Draw backs:- Previously Looted; when the virus hit, the mall was one of the first places to be looted. While it's secure now, anything that could have been scavenged is gone meaning that faction members will need to go outside. At least the arcade works? - Semi-working electricity; the grid the mall is on is somewhat active. The Arcade is the only place that's lit up 24/7. The lights and electricity in other parts of the mall randomly flicker on and off. - Undrinkable water. Due to no information about the current virus, the only safe water to drink is bottled water. At least the looters left the various soda flavorings alone, meaning you can create your own drinks. - Shared bathrooms; did we also mention that there are no showers in the mall? Seriously your only option is a sponge bath.

STEP 3: YOUR CHARACTER'S SURVIVAL STATS: Survival stats monitor how well your character is doing outside of battles. Every day, regardless of what you do, your character will become hungrier and thirstier as well as potentially cold. This is monitored on the minis site. In addition, [on site items ] are tracked here, and can be used to recover food/drink/ wear clothing, bribe players, and even upgrade your battle stats! On site items are called "on site" or "minis site" items.
Make sure that you place in your OOC RP QUOTE a link to your stats (see below on how to).
exclaim TO ACCESS YOUR CHARACTERS SURVIVAL STATS CLICK HERE. exclaim
If you have more than one character, select a character first!
DAILY EVENT:Once every OOC day (reset at midnight PST), you may use the daily event located at the top of the page below your character's stats header to generate a random event. This may recover a bit of health or drink for you or let you salvage/forage a random item to use! Remember that you can only keep ten items on you at all times, so before using daily chance, it might be prudent to discard an item!. YOUR HUNGER/HEALTH/CLOTHING: Your character has stats displayed at the top. There are four primary stats to look out for:
[ Clothing ] This shows how much clothing you are equipping/carrying. Different clothes have different "warmth" values, which are required to access the later zones of the event. Remember that you can only carry ten items on you ever! Think of this as items you need to pass zone restrictions, RPG style. If you are "naked" the entire event, you will never get to the final zones!
[ Hunger ] This is a very important stat. If this stat reaches 0, your character is officially dead for the rest of the event. Consider this stat a priority! Every day, regardless of it you refresh the site or not, the site will automatically deduct -3 hunger from your character. That means in 7 OOC days your character will automatically die from hunger if it is neglected. You may fill your hunger using food items obtained from IC events OR from trading with other players.
[ Thirst ] This is a very important stat. If this stat reaches 0, your character is officially dead for the rest of the event. Consider this stat a priority! Every day, regardless of it you refresh the site or not, the site will automatically deduct -3 thirst from your character. That means in 7 OOC days your character will automatically die from thirst if it is neglected. You may fill your thirst using drink items obtained from IC events OR from trading with other players. [ Location ] This just tracks for you what location your character is at! YOUR STATS: Click on "My stats" icon and it will generate a bbcode of your stats to place in your OOC SPOILER QUOTE for RP. It will also generate a link for all users to see your stats on the minis site. YOUR INVENTORY: Note: Do not use any recovery items when the stat is full. You will lose the item for no good reason. Save it instead!
All items have a purpose on the site. There are five types of obtainable items. To use an item and view what it does, simply click on it and view the description! Some items are logged, so it is important you go to the appropriate threads before "using" it!
Remember that you can only equip TEN items at a time, if you have exactly ten, and you are granted an item via an event, your inventory will be too full to be given that item! It is up to you which items you wish to discard. Discarding is entirely at your discretion and does not need to be rped.
[ TYPE: Food and Drink ] Food and drink items may help or harm a player. It is up to you to figure out what an item does when it comes to food/drink! Food items have a high chance to recover your hunger, drink items recover thirst. These are tradeable, as long as the trade/gifting transaction is rped in an actual (simple!) RP before trading (logs are kept of all trades to make sure they are RPed).
[ TYPE : Clothing] Clothing items have a hidden numerical value. When it is in your inventory, you will be considered able to ICly wear it. This adds to your CLOTHING STAT value. Certain zones can only be ICly accessed by users who have enough of a clothing stat value, otherwise they will take a food/drink penalty deduction daily. Clothing can be traded/gifted with accompanying rp.
[ Healing Items ] Healing items heal your health monitored through battles. To use a healing item, go to this thread and follow the instructions to heal your character. Then, remove from your inventory by selecting "use".
[ Weapon Items ] Healing items heal your health monitored through battles. Click on an item. If it explains it is a weapon, it will also show what stats it has when you own it. You must KEEP the weapon in your inventory to use its special dice when you battle (against mobs or users). If you remove the weapon, you go back to your default 2d6-6 stats. If you have TWO weapons, only one may be active ICly, so choose which one you want, and discard OR trade the other one!
[ Junkyard Items ] Junkyard Items are very precious when traded for information in the junkyard here to try to bribe for info!
[ Special Items ] Special items may have a use to play in the plot later for those lucky enough to have one. Keep a hold of them, they are very precious! They cannot be traded. Look at the description to use them!
. ITEM TRADING: exclaim Items can only be ICLY traded by two characters in the same zone. To view more on how to trade items ICly, please go HERE.
A REMINDER THAT ALL ITEM TRADES ON SITE ARE LOGGED. If we see questionable item trades that have NOT been rped out in the Junkyard, we will remove ALL items from BOTH users in question exclaim REDEEMING ON SITE ITEMS: In thread events (on Gaia) such as GM ORPS and mob loots may drop ON SITE items. If you obtain an ON SITE item, go ahead and claim it HERE. Please give at least a day for the GM staff to grant your item, meaning if you do obtain an ON SITE item in threads, make sure you understand it wont be granted immediately! YOUR MAP: Each player in every faction has been given a map. On the minis site, when you manage your stats, you can also click on a map zone adjacent to your location. So for example, if you are in zone 2, you can click on zones 1 or 3. This will move to to that zone ICly and you will only be able to rp in that zone. If your bbcode data generated above says you are in zone 1, and you are rping in zone 5, then your rps will be considered voided. Make sure to MOVE to that zone before you rp there. You can only move once a day
Certain zones require that you have a specific clothing value
Certain zones may drop unique items and weapons found ONLY in that zone!
"Home bases" can be rped at any time. The zones are simply on extremely dangerous "eritical areas" with lots of mobs, while home bases (your faction home base) is considered a "safe" zone.

STEP 5: IC BATTLING AND YOU When you leave the safety of your hub and travel to each zone, you may encounter "mobs". This is calculated by rolling a dice when you "enter" a thread to see if you summon a mob (see below for more info).
exclaim Remember, HP carries across threads so if you have 45/50 HP in Thread A, then take 5 damage in Thread B, then are attacked for 10 damage in Thread A, in both Thread A and B your HP is now 30/50. As long as you have a home base, your HP is healed daily at 11:50 PM PST for any NEW rps happening AFTER that time. exclaim YOUR BATTLE STATS: [ YOUR STATS ]
HP: 50/50
Base Attack Dice: 2d6-6 (Roll 2 6-sided dice using the Gaia RNG dice in guild posts. Add the total. Subtract 6 from it).
Base Defending Dice: 1d6 (Roll 1 6-sided dice using the Gaia RNG dice in guild posts. You may defend another player who is not already defended but this will use up your turn. Quote them).
- All players are humans. Basic HP, basic dice. Normally humans are weaker at 10 hp with 2d4-6 dice, however given the meta and circumstances your HP has been "scaled up" temporarily. Mysterious!
- Due to you being actual human players, at different health points, you will hurt and begin to take damage. How you RP it is up to you:
- At half HP they will ICly be much slower and move sluggishly. - At 10/50 HP their HP range is critical! They have sustained heavy damage! Be careful! - At 1/50 HP, your character is considered defeated. Characters who are defeated will drop ALL THEIR ITEMS. All these items will be donated to the JUNKYARD (see below). And yes, this does include weapons. - You drop all of your items each time you reach 1/50 HP. If you are healed, pick up an item, and someone attacks you then you can either drop the item for your attacker or take the damage and send the item to the Junkyard. Please note that while death may not be permanent at first with your allies there to help you, there may be a time when you don't quite come back to life all the way... - Camping/griefing will be dealt with appropriately. - IMPORTANT NOTE: HP carries over between threads and it does not reset. The only way to recover HP is to use special healing items. These items are one use only, so be sure to use them wisely.
The key to the meta is survival. Players will have to make personal decisions whether to fight mobs to obtain items or fight other users. Once again you can only PVP in a orp thread (or GM orp, where not mentioned otherwise). MOBS:: As this is a zombie apocalypse, at any point, an infected may pop out and attempt to attack you! All mobs are either GM controlled, or in the "copy and paste" format called "ZONE MOBS". When a mob is defeated, they will have a chance of obtaining usable loot for your character! Here are some stats to note:
[ MOB NAME] General name of mob
MOB HP: How much HP it will have to defeat it.
Mob Autodamage: Every time you take a turn against a mob including healing and defending, it will do this much damage to you. For example, if it says 2 autodamage, you take - 2 damage to your HP a turn.
Mob Special Ability: Some mobs have special abilities such as halving your HP, etc etc.
Mob Loot: Upon defeating a mob, it has a chance of dropping on-site (minis site!) loot. This could be from food/drinks that will help your character to whatever else under the sun. Be sure to redeem all on-site loot HERE.
VERSUS THE MOBS: If you would like to initiate a battle with an undying, make sure to follow these simple rules!
[ STEP ONE: CARDIO ] : When your character is in a zone that is not their home team base, they may create a PRP/ORP or SOLO RP. This is useful for interacting with users from different factions as well as gaining supplies dropped by mobs.
[ STEP TWO: THE DOUBLE TAP ] : In the first post of that thread you are creating, quote all players involved (where applicable) and roll 1d10. Go to the ZONE MOB THREAD applicable to your zone (for example zone one's zone mob thread) and match your dice to the zone results. Immediately COPY AND PASTE the mob code to your first post, if your roll summons a mob.
[ STEP THREE: BEWARE OF BATHROOMS ] : All players quoted who are planning to RP with you must do the same and roll 1d10 upon entry. If they summon a mob (if their dice roll matches a mob number in their respective ZONE MOB THREAD), they need to copy and paste the mob info to their post as well. They must individually now take on that mob before helping you.
[ STEP FOUR: WEAR SEAT BELTS ] : You must successfully defeat your own summoned mob (where applicable) before assisting others. Once you have defeated your own, then you can group up and help them. Think of it as you/other players being "ambushed"! IF you did not summon a mob, or another player did not, they may immediately pick someone to assist.
[ STEP FIVE: NO ATTACHMENTS ] : If a mobs become too overwhelming, you may flee the thread! It is up to other players if they wish to flee as well. You will not get any loot for fleeing (rp points are applied normally).
[ STEP SIX: THE "SKILLET" ] : Remember when attacking, you may use the stats of any weapon you have "Equipped". Simply link to your SURVIVAL STATS in the ooc to prove you own the weapon, and click on the minis site on the weapon in question to see what its stats are!
[ STEP SEVEN: TRAVEL LIGHT ] When you have defeated a mob, roll to see what loot you get from it. Redeem it HERE. This applies to all players who helped you kill a mob. Keep in mind that you can only own 10 items at a time so if you redeem an item and you already have 10 items, you will not get that redeemed item!
[ STEP EIGHT: GET A KICK a** PARTNER ] Need help? Want to invite other players to hop in? Put a [!] in your thread to let other players know they are invited. There is no limit to the amount of people in a thread. Only players who successfully kill the mob get the loot. HOWEVER: if a player hops in, as long as they are new to your thread, they must also roll 1d10 to summon a mob first. When a thread is done, label it as COMPLETE or CLOSED VERSUS PLAYERS: Sometimes, it just happens, that a player obtains loot from a victory kill or has in their inventory something you really want and you just happen to be in the same zone and same thread as them. You may now initiate PVP.
You can only select ONE target per thread and attack them once. Others can then join in, either to attack OR defend the person being attacked.
A person can only take a MAX of 20 damage in a thread. Example: Player A quotes Players 1, 2, and 3 to attack Player B. Player A, 1, 2, and 3 do 26 damage total. Because this is over the 20 damage limit, Player B takes only 20 damage. The last 6 damage is ignored.
Once a person has the chance to reply, they can choose to either take the damage and retaliate OR flee and drop and item.
If they attack back: they can only select ONE target from the attacking group. Therefore if Player B is attacked by Players 1, 2, and 3, they can pick 1, 2, OR 3 as their target.
If they choose to flee: they take NO damage, but will be forced to drop an item of their choice. This item is then granted to the other player who would have done the most damage to them. Items are granted via the minis site.
For example, lets say Player 1 attacks for 4 damage, Player 2 attacks for 10 damage, and Player 3 attacks for 8 damage. Because Player 2 did the most damage, they would receive the item. Let's say Player 2 and 3 both hit Player B for 10 damage, and Player B opts to leave the thread. In this case, both Player 2 and 3 would roll 1d20. Whoever rolls higher gets the loot. Alternatively, Players 2 and 3 could instead RP out who gets the item if they're going to be nice about it.
If this is a 1 vs 1 situation, then the same situation applies. It means it is always good to be the player that attacks first! Keep in mind though, if you attack first, there is always a chance you will be attacked back, and potentially retaliated by multiple members of the other team. Or have other people ambush you the thread! Then the tables are turned and the player attacking first will have no chance to flee/drop an item, and must be ready for counterattacks!
If there is NO REPLY after you have attacked and 12 hours have passed, it is automatically assumed the player being attacked is AFK. You may select another target in the thread. The AFK player cannot "cheat" and post in another thread, if they do so they will be banned from the event. Instead, when the AFK player comes back, simply look at their quoted location, and see how much damage they took. Choose to either attack back (quote the player) or leave the thread. It is up to you! It is recommended in PVP threads that you [ EXIT ] a thread once you are done. You cannot exit if you are engaged in any form of battle/activity (such as picking up/obtaining an item).
If a player is DEFEATED, (as in they have 1/50 HP) they will drop ALL THEIR ITEMS. All these items will be donated to the JUNKYARD (see below).
Players who are defeated in a battle thread do not die, but instead automatically retreat back to their home base.
WEAPONS:When you obtain a weapon item and it is in your on minis site inventory, your character will automatically wield it. While wielding a weapon, your attack dice changes from 2d6-6 to whatever is listed in the description on this minis site You can verify this if you click it in your inventory! Please note that if you are defeated in battle, your weapon is one of the items that you will drop. When you lose a weapon, your attack dice returns to 2d6-6.
If for some reason you have more than one weapon in your inventory, you can select one to use! RECOVERING HP:There are three ways to recover your character's HP in this event: Method 1: Every day at midnight PST your character's HP will reset to full. If you are in a PVP battle during reset, the HP recovery will take place after battle. Your HP will only reset if you are a member of a faction still standing. If your faction has been destroyed, your HP will not reset and you will need to rely on the other two methods to heal yourself: Method 2: You can obtain HP recovery items on the minisite and use them here! Method 3: Play Junkyard Poker and redeem your cards for HP recovery. Please see the Junkyard thread for more details.

ZONES AND YOU Outside of the four faction districts, from event start to finish, there will be 6 zones total. Each zone will unlock every 2-3 days. When you move to an ICly unlocked zone, make sure to announce it in your minis site portion too! The higher the zone number, the more difficult the mobs are, the greater the rewards!
You may only move adjacent one zone per 24 hours.
Each zone has a [ GM ORP ] which you may participate in for event plots.
Each zone has a [ MOB THREAD ] That shows which mobs spawn if you post solo/prps/orps of your own in that zone
Each zone has a [ SCAVENGING THREAD ]. This is a unique orp thread where you can post inside to "scavenge" for supplies dropped by others in that zone. Just a note that scavenging threads DO have pvp turned on, though you will not encounter mobs in it. Think of it as the "cornucopia" from the Hunger Games.
Each zone MAY have a [ SPECIAL ENCOUNTER/QUEST THREAD ] If you dare to go to these, something truly magical may happen (anything from boss battle, to puzzles to solve!). THE RADIO: The radio is a new function we are trying in this event! It is a blast chat that is purely for IC means only. If your character owns a radio item they will be invited to the radio event blast chat. It must be equipped in their inventory at all times (proof on the minis site). As long as they own a radio on their on site (minis site) inventory, they will be allowed to use the blast chat HERE. A pruning will be done daily: players without radios will be removed from the chat.
In the IC chat your character can use the radio to communicate to other players. Simply talk as you would through a radio icly. Set your aim alias as your character's name and zone. This is a great way for players to icly communicate with each other in different zones and in the same ones as well as figure out what to do!
[ BLAST CHAT SHORTCUTS ]
!alias (CHARACTER NAME) Type !alias YOUR CHARS NAME HERE to set your character's name first. If your character name is not set or you speak oocly, your message will be ignored and you will be booted from the chat permanently if you continue to persist.
For example, I type !alias Columbus and my name will show up as (Columbus exampleaimname362) in the blast chat.
!off Turn the chat off
!on Turn the chat on
