User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. Name: Zoe Nêreus

Nickname: None

Age: 18

Birthday: May 25th

Sign: Gemini

Gemstone: Aquamarine.

Blood Type: A

Fav. Food: Dolmades

Hated Food: those jarred shrimp cocktails in the firetruck red sauce.

School: Nada. Kicked out of final year of Crystal for her... herbal passtimes.

Hobbies:

Weed || Zoe is a social marijuana smoker and enjoys kicking back with friends and passing around a bowl - it's a great way to relax and get people to open up. She is also fond of experimenting with making edibles, and her pot brownie recipe is, like, choice, bruh.

Flirting || Zoe enjoys flirting for flirting's sake, making passes at people and having passes made at her in return. She makes double entendres as easily as she breathes and is affectionate with her friends and open with new acquaintances. It doesn't necessarily mean she wants to go further - making hearts flutter is enough of a thrill by itself.

Music || Zoe has played the violin since she was a child. She is classically trained, but of late prefers to play pop selections and up-tempo songs. She likes to show off her musical skills, and is happy to play for friends or hire herself out as musical accompaniment when she's short on cash. Which is most of the time.

Surfing || Zoe took up surfing as a pre-teen. She is skilled, but avoids the competition circuit - too much stress, and surfing is meant to be chill. She can be found at the beach most of the time, catching waves and soaking up the sun.

Virtues:
Carefree || Zoe doesn't sweat the small stuff, or the large stuff, or any of the stuff. Even under pressure, she is cool as a cucumber - though she also does her best to avoid potential sources of stress. She is not the sort to worry about the future or agonize over past problems. Zoe lets life happen and bobs with the waves. Que sera sera, you feel me, bruh?

Shares Easily || Zoe is generous with her time, her belongings, and her attention. She opens up to people quickly and tries to get others to do the same. She takes a communal approach to personal property - what's hers can be yours if you need it, you dig? - and loves sharing experiences with others. If she wants you to read a book, she'll lend you her copy. If she wants you to hear a song, she'll put her headphones on your head. And if you've just gotta taste something, she wants you to go ahead and help yourself to her plate.

Joyful || Zoe wakes up with a smile on her face and progresses through her day with a spring in her step. She takes pleasure in being alive and doing things that make her happy, and does not see any reason to waste time being miserable or moping around. She has no trouble looking on the bright side and seeing the good in almost any situation.

Flaws:
Non-commital || Zoe hates making concrete plans, preferring to go with the flow and do things when the moment strikes her. She avoids responsibility like the plague - having people counting on her to do stuff is just too much pressure, and that's very no bueno.

Unmotivated || Zoe has no plans. Zoe has no goals. Zoe would be perfectly okay if her life continued at its current pace and trajectory for the rest of time. While she is not resistant to change, she does not actively seek to better herself, improve her skills, or advance in anything resembling a career path. Zoe is okay with the status quo and has no reason to challenge it.

Mean streak || If Zoe doesn't like you, she has no problem letting you know. She can be snide and catty with the best bitches, and ruining your day will by no means ruin hers. She holds grudges for a long time and is slow in forgiving - it's so much more fun to just be mean.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Colour, shape. No heterochromia (different-coloured eyes), please!

Hair: Blue -see reference- about to her mid back with a tendancy to curl when wet or in humidity. Likes to pull the front part back so it wont get in her way when she plays.

Face: Olive skin, heart shaped face.

Your MAIN COLOUR should dominate. Your SECOND COLOUR should be used for trimming.

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack:
"Mermaid Sinking"

Malay summons a glimmering figure of a mermaid made out of water, which then "swims at the opponent" visually right before the watery figure hits, her lovely face distorts showing long carnivorous teeth and a more scary version of the mythological creature.

When it hits, the opponent's mouth and nose fill with sea water, and the victim then coughs / spits up the water until the attack is over.

Effect last 20 seconds.
Can be used twice per battle.

Super Sailor Scout Attack:
"Mermaid Drowning"
Malay summons a two glimmering figure of a mermaid made out of water, which then "swims at the opponent" visually right before the watery figure hits, her lovely face distorts showing long carnivorous teeth and a more scary version of the mythological creature.

When it hits, the opponent's mouth and nose fill with sea water, and the victim then coughs / spits up the water until the attack is over.

Each mermaid can attack a different opponent or the same for a stacked effect.

Effect last 20 seconds.
Eternal Sailor Attack:
"Fury of the Sea"
Malay summons a large wave of seawater under her feet-which sort of just rises magically out of the ground, in its wake are the watery shapes of mermaids jumping in and out of the spray. She can summon it and slam it into an opponent, causing physical damage that one would expect from being hit by that much water ( and as a result slammed into other things like the ground and buildings in the torrent ) with the ability to sort of surf atop the crest of the wave if she so chooses. When the wave is about to crash into something, the playfull mermaids bare sharp teeth and clawed fingers, letting out a screech as they dive at the pray, their shapes melding back into the wave as it makes impact.

Can be used twice per battle.
Wave lasts for 40 seconds or until impact.
*VISUAL REFERENCE -is a nerd
VISUAL REFERENCE 2 -is still a nerd *
VISUAL REFERENCE 3 -is even more of a nerd

*NOTATION - It takes on average 3 to 4 minutes for the average person to drown, so the chances of these first two attacks ( even stacked, with all first and second staged used on one person ) fatal on a powered opponent, even stacked, is minimal.

Her sister was staring at her with wide eyed horror, holding onto the bars of the staircase... not quite brace enough to come down into the fray, but supportive enough of her big sister that she couldn't make herself leave. She had been expelled at the end of the school year. And because she had been 18 when it happened, her parents never found out. She had simply packed up her bag from Crystal, grabbed her Violin case, and cone to the local community college. She had taken her whole GED test that same day, and walked out - in her mind - a free woman.

Her parents payed so much money for her to go there, you think they wouldn't kick her out for a little weed. Of course telling the librarian she should remove that stick from her butt and enjoy her high quality pot brownies probably hadn't been the best possible move from her. But whatever.

She had simply gotten up every-morning, loaded her surfboard onto the upper rack of her little blue classic bug, and driven to the beach. She had spent all summer surfing, making-out with cute beach boys and girls, and playing her violin for fun. The money thrown into her violin case had just been a bonus, and even allowed her to slowly gather a sizable chunk of savings. Oh yes, she had her eyes on a new violin... maybe even another surf board... so many possibilities, because Zoe had never had a job of any sort before. And she didn't exactly consider playing her music a job, so the fact that people just literally threw money at her for it was a welcome wonder.

Only now her parents had found out what happened. They had started questioning why she wasn't receiving any college applications, and when she had announced she assent going to college, they had decided to try and simply submit her applications for her. Only they had discovered their daughter had never technically graduated. She stopped attending crystal in May.

And it was not going well. Her father was yelling at her, and her mother was staring at her with something between pain and sorrow. " I have had enough. " He boomed, his accent so thick sometimes it was hard to even understand what he was saying. " You have played us the fool for the last time. Get out. "

Zoe rolled her eyes, her father was such a drama queen. " Okay okay papa, Ill go " She reached for her car-keys, only to have her father snatch them off of the wall.

" Oh no. That car that you did not pay for. It stays. You go " He ground out. Zoe narrowed her eyes, and she could see out of the corner of her eyes little Troya gripping the banister so hard her knuckles turned white.

" Fine, whatever. " She picked up her cell phone, one she had bought herself especially because it was waterproof, and slid it into her pocket. " Ill take the buss, save me some dinner mama. "

Only when she looked back to her mother, she was holding her older brothers military duffel bag, her tiny hands shaking. Zoe blinked at her uncomprehendingly as the bag was placed in her arms, gently, as if she were handling a bomb.

" You have 10 minutes and I want you gone. " He said, watching his oldest daughter with eyes, that to Zoe, were now that of a stranger. He turned on his heels " Make sure you are not here when I come back. " He said, not looking over his shoulder.

Her mother gave her one last look, her shoulders hunched slightly in on herself, and followed him into the kitchen. She stood there for a moment. Not believing, and her heart pounding. Her father never bluffed. She turned her head, slow as if she were in a horror movie, her eyes locking with her sisters. In unison they turned and ran to their shared bedroom. Zoe opened the bag and started shoving her most treasured things in, a headband her brother had given her, the little case that she had kept her earnings from playing violin in, her weed, her e-book reader, a few cords and chargers... her mind was frazzled. She couldn't seem to remember where anything was, what was the most important to her? A picture of her and her siblings? She had pictures on her phone? Her laptop? She looked at it longingly, and Troya, precious innocent baby Troya, scooped it up and started covering it in frilly girly stickers " He'll never know the difference. " Zoe gave her a smacking kiss on the forehead, and shoved as many cloths as she could fit into the bag, and zipped it shut. It was so full the zippers bulged. She had no shoes... Zoe kicked off her flip flops and shoved them in a side pocket, cramming her sockless feet into her favorite boots.

She heard the kitchen door slam. Her and Troya stood stark still, and they could hear their parents talking. Her little sister threw her and locked her in the tightest hug her tiny body could manage. " Go! Be safe " And she sounded suspiciously like she was trying to keep from crying. Troya always acted older then her 13 years. Zoe bolted down the stares, two at a time, and scrambled out the front door, just as she heard her fathers shoes on the hard wood floors. The door slammed shut behind her, and she stood in the front yard for a moment, blinking in the sudden dark. She could see the outline of her mother watching her, but her father was no where to be seen,

She walked over to the gate, keeping an eye on her mothers form. Her phone buzzed. She looked at the text, seeing Troya's face on her screen. " Hes throwing away your stuff... Ill hide your surf board. " Zoe bit her lip, hearing things crashing from inside the house, and left the yard, leaving the gate open behind her.

She took a deep breath. Its ok, she could make this work. She started to dial a friends phone number, but when she pushed send, her phone did nothing. She tried again. And nothing. Looking closer she tapped the screen " No service, please contact service provider. "

Zoe just stared at her screen for a moment, standing on the sidewalk, military style bag on her back, violin case in one hand and a phone with no service in the other... She took a deep breath, and started walking.

There were some problems living in a space that was meant to be an office, and not an actual home. One was that there was no kitchen. There was a microwave and a coffee pot, which Jason had been kind enough to leave for her use. Of course he was being kind in the fact he was letting her stay here for free. Her single bag of possessions was dumped in the corner. She had a cot, and a window that looked off to the back end of the beach.

She could overlook the problem. She loved it. It was hers, kinda, and she had a sudden abundance of freedom. But... she also didn't have her mother cooking for her anymore. So she looked at her coffee pot, and the pocket of change and wadded up dollar bills. Of course, there was a full kitchen in the actual restaurant, which her office was attached to, but she had no idea how to use any of the industrial fryers or stove tops. Plus burning down the building would not be the best way to pout her in Jason's good graces She scooped up her change, and headed to the grocery store. She had no idea how much she would be able to get, she knew well enough that her parents always bitched about how much they spent on groceries, so she was almost apprehensive. Her fears died off rather quickly though.

Ramen... some cheap vegetables. Ooh hotdog's were on sale. And it only rang up to less than 7 dollars. She now had 37 cents to her name. Oh well, she had enough food for a while. Besides during the day she could usually sweet talk food out of Jason. Granted it was usually fried food, but he was amusingly protective of the young surfers in the area. It was a close knit community and as soon as he had found out that she had been kicked out of her home, he had offered the office as a home. But even though she was a very physically active person, a steady diet of fried foods would make anyone bloat up.

She didnt consider herself a very vain person, but the idea of turning into a manatee wasn't something that made her happy. The Bok Chow was a flimsy attempt of adding something healthy to her diet, but oh well, its not that she really paid that much attention.

She looked at the coffee pot and stuffed a packet of ramen in the glass pot, and half off the little packet of Bok Choy she scored for 50 cents. She cut up a hot-dog with a plastic knife she had taken from the deli counter at the store, and perched on the little office chain in the corner, watching the water drip down and cook the.... well it was technically food, in the pot below. Once it was about half way filled she dumped in the little seasoning packet. She sat down on the floor in front of the coffeepot and watched it with an intense fascination that a cat watching a glass door of a washing machine.

To be truthful, this was the first time she had cooked for herself, if it could be called cooking. She had next to no domestic skills to speak of, aside from baking, and one could not live off of pot brownies... well... maybe they could, but you really shouldn't. So she felt a swell of pride as she saw the noodles turn from cracker like squiggles into something that was edible, and the soup turn from starchy water to salty broth.

Zoe smiled, even feeling proud that she had been adult about her food and put the soft yummy cabbage wilted into the soup. She pulled out a pair of chopsticks that she had taken from a local takeout restaurant. She had ordered one eggroll, and making direct eye contact with the girl at the counter, and stuffed a whole handful of chopstick packets into her pocket, taken her dollar eggroll, and left. She had no dishes to speak of so once she felt that the food was done, she simply rook the lid off of the coffee pot, sat down cross legged on the floor of her tiny room, and chowed down on the first meal she ever cooked for herself.

She had another half of Bok Choy, and the one more bad. A case of ramen, two packets of hot-dogs, and pocket fulls of ketchup, mustard, and soy sauce packets she had taken from the deli counter. She also had all of the chopsticks she had taken, dumped unceremoniously on the little desk in the corner. This would last a while, she would need to find a way to get more, but as she sluped up hot noodles with little chunks of hotdogs, all she could think of was the big bang theory tv show, Maybe she should try and make "spaghetti with little hotdogs cut up in it"

The thought made her giggle, and she was suddenly content. She leaned back against the little bed that was pushed up against the wall, giving as much floor space as possible, and felt more free and relaxed then she did in a long time. She leaned over and flicked on the ancient little box TV that was probably older than she was, and watched whatever old rerun that happened to be on the channel the tv was one, drinking down the warmth of her soup and eating soft noodles and crunchy leaves.

After she was finished she plunked the pot down in the teeny tiny sink in the corner ( She would wash it later... maybe ) and crawled into her bed, pulling up the blankets to her shoulders, watching the fuzzy tiny screen and letting herself slowly drift off to sleep. Not to bad for a first meal, She even did it all with just one container. Not many people could say that. Well. Maybe they could, she didn't really know, but she liked to think that she had done well.

Zoe shuddered a little bit. It was October, Halloween in particular. Her halloween costume had been a little bit of an inside joke. Seashell bikini bra that she had strung from found shells no the beach, a sequence pair of underwear with bright green ruffles, and some seashell barrettes that had been in her duffel bag probably sense she was 5 years old. That and a few handfuls of glitter and artfully applied makeup and sea-grass, and she was a perfectly acceptable mermaid. One could make due with very little money invested if you were fine with it being horribly slutty. It had certainly been hilarious watching peoples eyes glue to her chest, ample as it was, struggle to stay contained by the shells held in place by rope twine.

Fun as it had been flirting and enjoying the copious amounts of free booze... she had been FREEZEING. Like literally, at one point she had found a cutey willing to let her snuggle up under the wings of his jacket simply because she couldn't feel her fingers... So now, as the parties had died down and people had started leaving in pairs, Zoe found herself unaccustomed put off by the idea of finding a warm body to drag home to her bed. So she trudged down the soft sand towards the little beach snack shack. She had wandered close enough that her feel were covered by particularly exuberant wave who had scampered farther up the sands then its siblings.

And it made her jump. It was like ICE WATER.

Not that the ocean was ever cold, but she stared at the waves and suddenly understood why she had felt a little melancholy all day. The water would be to cold for her now. It would make her sick at best... if the air was to cold for skin to be out in the open, the water could leech away life giving warmth and leave you a corpse before you thought to get back to the shore... because before you died you would feel numb, then blissfully warm before you drifted off into the waves. A mildly irritating misadventure being pulled out further then intended could literally be the last thing you ever did.

She sighed and crossed her arms, tapping a foot, naked toes slapping the damn sand, and gazed at the waves like it was a naughty child caught in the act.

Oh well, there was nothing to be done.

She heard someone clearing his throat and looked over her shoulder, to see the owner of the snack shack standing beside the little door that led to the kitchen. The metal roller was down, blocking the counter that served as a table top, locked securely for the night, as it had been for hours. If she had a watch, which she did not, she would know that it had been closed exactly seven hours and forty five minutes. He was a huge bear of a man, burly, covered in tattoos, beard that would make any lumberjack proud, but he was legitimately one of the most "good" person she had ever met. He took care of people, gave hot coffee and food to the homeless, did clothing drives with his biker gang ( who knew bikers were so into charity work? ) and he even let her live in the little room behind the building that she was sure was meant to be an office. She didn't particularly mind that he considered her a "charity" case, but he was protective of her in his own gruff stand-offish sort of way.

If she was a betting girl she would say it was due to the fact he had a daughter of his own somewhere. She didn't know where the girl was, or even her name, but there were pictures in the corner where Jason did his paperwork, and considering he had a wedding ring tan line she imagined it was touchy detail of his recent divorce.

He didn't want to talk about it, and she wasn't one to pry.... well... not when the person was literally giving her a place to stay for free. " You need something papa-bear? " She said with a happy grin. He was looking at her with a bit of a frown, and she could FEEL his disapproval of her outfit radiating from him, which made her grin even more and prance her way over to him.

" Girl, your going to freeze to death. " His voice was deep and gravelly from years of smoking, but he didn't say anything more then that, and tossed plastic usps package at her.

Zoe blinked and caught it out of reflex before it hit her in the face. She blinked owlishly and looked at it, then back to the gruff man before her.

" Go put some cloths on " He grumped and took off towards his motorcycle without another word, and watched him walk off, knowing better then trying to follow him. She wound a piece of hair around a finger, a nervous habit, as he drove off.

Had he waited here to hand her a plastic mailing bag?

Shaking her head, she unlocked her little room, with its tiny sink, microwave, a teeny tiny bed, an even tinier desk, and a TV that was probably older than her. But it was home... Kinda?

She flopped down on the bed and ripped into the package, using her house key to rip through the surprisingly durable plastic. What the heck was this..? As she pulled out the material, recognition dawned on her head, and she had to fight back uncharacteristic tears. For someone of her generation, she was unusually materialistic.... but this... this was something that MEANT something to her... that only someone who really knew her would even think to get.

She ran her fingers over the thick black material of the wet-suit lovingly. She let her eyes roam the human shaped expanse of craftsmanship, taking in all the details, the zipper, the seams, the blue line that graced the side and the little starfish insignia at the ankle....

She sniffed.

She wasn't crying. Just... dust in her eyes. The building was old. Dusty. Dust. Yeah, that was it.
