It was cold. Biteing cold. So cold that even her wet-suit didnt keep it from sinking into her bones when she tried to take to the water. Okay so maybe it had been dumb of her to even try.... but... well... sometimes crazy was worth it.
She had rung out her hair, but as sea salt tends to do with hair, her hair has tried into a mass of loose spiral curls. She padded into a coffee-shop that was within walking distance from her little home, late enough that it was almost abandoned, and grinned as the barista did nothing more than roll her eyes at her slightly damn, swim-suited self.
She sweet talked a coffee out of the young man behind the counter ( She often played her violin out front, and it brought a lot of attention to the shop when she did, so sometimes she got nice perks, and strolled over to a lounge chair, flopping down and kicking her legs over the arm rest so she laid on her more like a hammock.
This chair was the best. It was right under the heating vent. Stretching luxuriously as the scent of coffee and warmth seeped into her, she indulged a little and unzipped part of her suit down to her extremely ample bust so she could better feel the warmth.
It was such a nice coffee shop... For a moment Zoe couldn't figure out why it was so empty, then it dawned on her that usually people did not go to coffee shops so late... considering they usually had s**t like school and jobs to go to the next day.
How sad for them.

Didn't Desdemona know about a life without obligations.
Well. Without those obligations, anyway. She still had plenty, between her added workload for the Negaverse and Poppy, her pet project in Axton, the upcoming GED, and never mind just trying to live which was a whole other thing.
But on a night to night basis before patrol? She liked to take at least a couple of nights a week to herself, even just a few hours, to go and do something. Often it involved a club or a bar, but here and there she liked to hit places like coffee shops, something quieter and more intimate.
Here she was then, nursing a latte as she hovered idly over her GED prep book, paying less attention to the questions themselves and more to swirling her pen in the ends of her hair. (Hanging past her shoulders, now; too long. She really did need to cut it.)
It was quiet here. Both a blessing and a curse, because it made for good studying conditions and all... but Desdemona was not much good at being left alone with her thoughts and all. So when the door opened and a person of interest stepped in, a rather pretty thing in a wet suit of all things, needless to say the girl had her attention without even trying. And being anything but shy, she stood smoothly to her feet, smoothing out her skirt over her leggings before walking over.
"Hate to intrude. But you must tell me, darling - are you one of these notorious 'polar bears' I keep hearing about?" she said in a light, friendly way, flashing her a grin. "What's that like?"

Zoe had almost been ready to doze, so comply was the sudden rush of warmth of the coffee shop, that she hadent exactly noticed the lovely creature approaching her. Which was a damn crime.
So when her voice roused Zoe from her sleepy haze, she grinned up at her, mind focusing back to the present and away from napping. " You could say that. Though usually Polar-bearers are in it for charity. I apparently just like to torture myself, and I do it for free. " She grinned up at the girl with a mischievous smile. " Its pretty fun thought. The water is so cold if gives your body a rush of adrenaline, it can literally take your breath away. " She tilted her head, eyeballing her pretty new friend.
" Care to give it a try? " She shifted her legs so that she was sitting like a normal human being, the young man from the counter bringing over her coffee and a refill for Des that hadn't even been asked for yet. frayedflower Short tag is short, forgive me! 4-30: Just requoteing incase you forgot about this one smile
