Hobbies:Cooking and Baking - This, so much this. Elissa just loves making food for other people. Something about the process relaxes her and keeps her focused at the same time. When the finished product comes out and tastes good, that's icing on the cake (sometimes literally). On top of that, if people enjoy the meal she put effort into making, she is beyond satisfied. Making people happy and giving them support and sustenance brings her great joy. It's the process of producing something and making people happy with it that does it for her.
Volunteering - Elissa has never had a problem with giving time to or for others. She regularly volunteers in places like soup kitchens and helps out with public events where she can. She doesn't always have much money to donate, so hard work is the way to go. When people smile and events run without a hitch, it is immensely satisfying to her.
Virtues:Generous - Elissa is a very giving person, whether it's of her time or of her other resources. She likes to contribute to whatever she can however she can, whether it's through volunteering for public service or simply foisting some lunch onto someone who doesn't have one.
Mothering - Elissa wants to coddle and baby every precious sugarlump cinnamon roll she meets. She's one of those people with an intrinsic desire to gently rub your head as you tell her about your day. She's very snuggly and gentle in general, with a deep well of patience to draw from. She likes to spoil people rotten and make them feel loved; if someone leaves feeling warm fuzzies, she considers her job done.
Sweet - There's just something about Elissa that radiates geniality. She has a certain charm to her that seems to make her likeable. It's something in her general kindness and bright personality that gives her a general appeal. She is warm and inviting, and the way she speaks seems very gentle and helps to draw people in.
Flaws:Pushy - No, no, you DEFINITELY need to eat something, you WILL eat this food she worked so hard to make for you, and if you can't eat it all now you are definitely taking it home and she will call you later to make sure you actually ate it. Elissa sometimes gets a little forceful in caring for others, to the point that she shoves good care onto them even when it's obviously putting them off. She'll badger them to eat well, she'll badger them to sleep right, she'll badger them to tell her about their day. She kind of forces people into letting her care for them in this respect.
Saccharine - Elissa can be sweet, but she can also be
too sweet, and with the worst timing. Her kind, motherly side kicks into high gear and becomes cloying. She ends up trying too hard and it almost becomes a bit Stepford Wife-like. In fact, there are times when she doesn't seem to realize that slathering the comfort on someone or babying them is only going to make the situation worse (or at least make them very uncomfortable). She kills with kindness.
Meddling - "I'm helping!" No, no she is not. In her desire to help, Elissa can become blind to the harm she's doing. She doesn't leave well enough alone often, and so people with situations that can resolve on their own often get them exacerbated by having her entangled in them. It takes a really hard whack (emotionally, sometimes physically) to get her to realize that her presence is actually screwing things up more than helping. Until then, she'll just march right up and keep trying to help while the situation spins out of control.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Dark green, kind of... ordinary shaped. Not too wide, not too narrow.
Hair: Pinkish-red (let's call it a deeper shade of magenta), longish. She keeps her hair tucked into a single drill curl that goes over her shoulder. (She thinks of it as less like a curl and more like one of those cornet pastries.)
Face: Round shape, some freckles, mostly across her nose. Fair skin. Curvy build.
