Welcome to our dear contest, run by ~Lady Kanna~ and LoveByLetters. The lovely totems you see in the post above are from a breeding between Aelius and Unwanted, the proud bucks of Rosalie Satre and Friedrich Grimm the Last. The one you're all trying for is the second of the litter, this beautiful buck proudly displayed in the banners. But what is it we're asking you to do? For this contest, we're not just looking for your typical chosen blurb and guardian personality, oh no, we would like to see more. In other words, we would like to see you create an enemy for the Grimm family. Whether this is someone out for revenge or a figure who wishes to see them face justice is up to you, but we really want to see what you have to think up. Have the Freds "stolen" something from them? Are they a woman Ghastly has left scorned from another port? Or something completely different? Give us your best, and write us a detailed profile of this individual, and perhaps what their future plans are. Keep in mind there is a wedding coming up that could use crashing, should your character be bold enough... We do have a few rules for this contest, and hopefully it'll be a lot of fun for everyone! Rules1 ) Please make sure to read everything! 2 ) Follow Gaia ToS and shop rules! 3 ) You're good to enter no matter your status here. Newbie or regular, you are more than welcome to have some fun here! 4 ) Entries may be edited up until close time, just please note at the top of your form in red if you have! 5 ) Do not discourage anyone from entering please! No guilt-tripping either! This is for fun, and we'd really like to see what everyone can think up! 6 ) If we add new rules, they too will be in red! Feel free to check back! Questions may also be PM'd to us, though Kanna might be easier to contact. 7 ) We'd really like it if you would continue these plots after you win! ;u; It'll be fun, trust us! 8 ) Please keep this for posting entries only! ;; It makes it easier for us, just keep your well wishing in thread. <3

Jacob Grimm generally disapproves of everything...including rhymes The eldest son of the Grimm family and current patriarch. Wilhelm Grimm is a Ghastly sort, he's had women from every port... Ghastly is a pirate, not much more to say here._________________________________ About Ferdinand Grimm not much is known, although his love for men makes his big brother frown... Ferdinand is increasingly good with flattery, both in and out of the office. The Friedrichs Grimm made carefree mischief every day, until their hearts got stolen away... The Friedrichs, more commonly known as 'The Freds' are a troublesome pair._________________________________ Charles Grimm has never been very good, he'd kill most of his siblings if ever he could... Charles is not currently all that relevant, though it might be best if you just don't talk about him. Georgios Grimm is spoilt bad, everything she's wanted, her brothers made sure that she had... The youngest of the Grimms, Georgie is also the most important of them all, being the only girl._________________ A woman as fine as blood and steel, no man could ever make Rosalie kneel...A blacksmith by trade, and while not yet a Grimm, it's to be assumed she will be soon.

1) Is it possible to make our villain a b*****d of the Grimm family? ________Yes, it's possible. If it's their dad's kids -- and therefore of age with the rest of the Grimms -- they'd not believe s/he was a Grimm, because they wouldn't believe it really was a b*****d because (honestly kind of hilariously sad but true) that their dad had the balls to cheat on their firebreather of a mom.
Alternatively, for a younger character, it could be one of Ghastly's kids, Ghastly could deny it, and then they'd be given a token position on the offchance they were one of his kids but not really full recognition.
If you do choose to go with Ghastly, a suitable age for this character would be 12-13.

{Who's Lurking in the Shadows?} Guardian Name: Switch Personality: Fleet-footed daredevil Chosen Name: Lucian Kinlan Personality: Flightful. Always getting into trouble, always disappearing, always appearing at the most inopportune moments/when he needs something. Presumed dead for many years on one of his high-flying ventures. Great at playing the last-ditch attempt to get clean card to win his brother's help and sympathy. Always chasing his next big score (or, as he puts it, "one last score") Somehow, they (mostly, his family) always believe him. Smooth talker; charming in a seedy way. Whip smart and brilliant, but impulsive and has a temper. Competitive, vengeful, has a long memory for things that don't go his way. Can be dangerous because of that . Not prone to failure, so he almost enjoys the high of almost getting caught. Backstory: He was trouble since the day he was born. His mother almost died giving birth to him, and his life has been on an upward journey to bigger and better scores since then. The stealing began at age 8, when he briefly headed a gang of street urchins and used them to distract shop-owners while he pocketed as much as he could - first bread for his family and then larger, more expensive things he could sell for some coin instead. The scheming started then and never stopped. When he was 14, he pulled off the then-biggest heist of his young career, breaking into the home of a well-known inventor and stealing the man's prized work. He returned it a week later, just to prove he could, but his lookout failed to watch the road and both were caught by a passing guardsman. They held him for two days before letting him go, marking the first of countless times he would put his family through the ringer. But his benevolence disappeared that day along with his trust for other thieves. Pulling cons became a drug, a natural high that Lucian sought with increasing urgency. It was like a puzzle to him, figuring out where and when and how to obtain Object X, or how to make Mister Somethingorother do this exact thing he would otherwise never do. He loved the thrill of winning, of taunting the law and getting away with it. That it always wound up benefiting Lucian was just icing on the cake. Six years ago at 20, Lucian ran a high-profile heist on the docks, attempting to hijack a merchant ship stocked with precious goods. A swordfight ensued. Guns were fired. They got away, but the ship went down not far off the coast of Northport. Lucian Kinlan was presumed dead with the crew. Since then, he's been laying low, biding his time, rebuilding. Soon, he'll reappear in his brother's life as if six years have not passed, asking for favors as if he has't been dead this whole time. And this time, he'll have revenge on his mind. Motive: Lucian is not used to failure, and on the rare occasions when it happens, he will not let it go. The last time he failed, at 14, he made sure his lookout suffered twice the punishment he did. He is vengeful and tends to perceive others' actions as personal slights. Details would have to be hashed out, but I'd like for the Grimms to have had something to do with the ship going down in Northport. That was a big, big moment in his life and also forced him to spend six years slowly rebuilding (he probably had to spend a while recovering from injuries too). That's also six years' worth of major heists that he's had to let slip through his fingers. Lucian is not pleased and he's also not afraid. His reasoning, just because there's an entire pack of Grimms doesn't mean they're infallible. He's going to find their weak spot, not matter what it takes. The fact that he knows he's brilliant only makes him that much more determined. Once he catches wind of the wedding and of Rosalie, he's going to try to target her. He hasn't figured out quite how or what he'll do, but he'll see her as the weak link - or at least as the Grimms' weak spot. Depending on how the timeline works, he might try to wreak havoc at the wedding, or he might use the wedding as a way to scout things out (likely the latter). I'd like him to meet Switch first before attempting anything big, because Switch is going to very quickly become his sidekick and make him even more determined to pull his revenge thing off. It's also going to be weird, because he'll have to constantly battle his instinct to throw others under the bus to keep himself safe, and he might try to do that to Switch a couple times before realizing that that is absolutely not going to fly.

{Who's Lurking in the Shadows?}
Guardian Name: Kearney Personality: Trickster, cunning, & smart witted (smart a** wink ). Chosen Name: Aedan Kane Personality: Aedan is two faced ninja . As an outward appearance he is hardworking, determined, smart, and likely to succeed if pushed by the right person. He is loyal to his family, yet despite his mothers pushings; may never have a family of his own. He is actually liked by law enforcement and trusted despite his families, and his own criminal past. He is friendly with a Detective McGrath, who believes that Aedan's actions are just and take criminal justice to a superior level. (It should be known that Detective McGrath, is also a transsexual, (huge tabo) but, is well trusted and liked within his force.) Aedan's interior motive is that of his own justice. His aim is to take down the crime bosses that he believes bring out the worst in all people. He believes that it his job above all else to take down these bosses and have them pay for their "sins". He has no remorse, no looking back, and is also well supported and connected. Aedan believes he can take justice to any that deserve it...he's a vigilante! (wildcard bitches! I just always want to say that; don't mind me wink Backstory: Aedan grew up on Priondragás (modern day Ireland) His father was a pirate (told his family he was a trader) and he worked for the Grimm's. When Aedan was of age he joined his father on the seas. At first, Aedan thought his father was a trader. His father Cocidius (Coci) would tell him long stories of his travels to more "modern" lands, and to places that sweat of gold. When Aedan came of age, he had always wanted to take up his father's trade. Cocidius was very reluctant to let Aedan onto the ships during the winter, but Aedan had spent his summers fishing on the large ships with his father, so he didn't understand why his father was against him joining his fathers trade. Coci came to Aedan one day and said to him, "If I let you onto our ship, you have to promise that whatever happens you must keep it within you, that is the way of the sea, you must never tell your mother, or your sisters, you must promise me that lad; There are some things we do on the seas, that we would never do while we were on land." The words: "There are some things we do on the seas, that we would never do on land". never seemed to stick with Aedan. Once he became apart of pirating he never looked back. Why would he? Every bad thing he did was rewarded; either with money, swords, women, drugs, and sometimes guns. That was until the day that his father was murdered. Aedan's primary job on the ships was security. Once they landed port, the shipment was un-shipped, and he made sure when someone asked questions...they stopped asking questions. The shipment was on Palisade, there was an argument between his father and "who ever" was taking the shipment. Coci was trying to explain, frantic in a sense. Aedan was at his post at the top of the ramp where the shipment was being unloaded. Before he could do anything, he saw the sword drawn from behind a ghastly figure dressed in black, with a golden pocket watch dangling from his black attire (The baby Georgios!? no one can tell as of now, ((needs approval from...you!)). That golden chain or watch, whatever it was, has stuck into Aedan's mind. Aedan is still roaming the seas pleasing his bosses with their wishes, upping his ranks among most; and ever perplexing and enchanting the law when he takes down some under boss, when he is just a "sailor". Motive: When the Grimm's took down Aedan's father they knew that Coci had taken him upon one of their pirating ships. What they didn't know, but well suspected; the look out that saw Coci's death was none other than his own son. Instead of confronting him directly, they move him up in the ranks, giving him higher risk jobs, with higher rewards, in order to gain his trust and loyalty. However, Aedan still plans to find out which Grimm murdered his father. His plan is to move up in ranks, gain their trust just like his father did. When the time is right, he will take his revenge, but their will be a cost. (Maybe he is a really close friend/apprentice to Wilhelm; Wilhelm took him under his shoulder after his father died? ((With approval from you!)) I think that's it! Thanks for encouraging me to join in this contest! Thinking up the plot and characters was really fun, I def enjoyed it smile 3nodding

{Who's Lurking in the Shadows?} Under construction.Guardian Name: Odem Personality: Self-Assured Chosen Name: Rembrandt _____ Personality: Quizzical, philosophical, observant... all of these adjectives, and more, would describe Rembrandt. (Or Brand, for short.) If playing the staring role on his personal stage has taught him one thing, it's that diving head first into something, like a shallow pool, leads to injury. Calculated decisions, and an in-depth thinking process has become Brand's more prominent characteristic. Associated with it comes level-headedness, emotional detachment, and a powerful ability to persuade others. Some call it manipulation, others charisma. Tomato, tomato. However, his higher thinking has done nothing to quell his temper that flares every once in a blue moon, but when it does, it burns hotter than all the suns of the solar system combined. He has a tendency to fixate, especially when its something that was able to stir his anger, or any strong emotion. (Its a rare occurrence, I assure you.) Backstory: What's your character's life been like up until now? Important time factors, etc... Motive: Why're they on this path? Why the Grimms and not anyone else? Tell us what brought your character on their path, and maybe what they plan to do!

{Who's Lurking in the Shadows?} Guardian Name: Shandor Personality: Proud, Loyal, Realistic Chosen Name: Daciana(Dah-chyan-ah) GaborPersonality: Daciana is the flawless jewel of the Gabor family and tribe, the youngest of a rather old family. Because of this, she has been pampered, coddled, and dotted upon since birth. None think that she can do any wrong. Her tears have always been swept away by the hands of many, and her mood always brightened by dancing and music in her honor. This has gone far in shaping Daciana into a completely spoiled and utterly rotten child. She is beautiful, and she knows it. Every man she meets is willing to throw himself at her feet, and she knows it. Her family will do anything in their power to protect and love her, and she knows it. She also takes advantage of all of these things. More than once, she has knowingly led a young suitor to a world of pain at the hands of her perhaps overly protective older brother, Andrei. Usually it is after the suitor makes some comment or does some action that sparks her ire. And, as is common amongst the sheltered and spoiled, Ana is extremely naive about the world. Though part of a very powerful Romani family, Ana has been protected so thoroughly from the evils of the world and the enemies of her family that she has no idea how to survive on her own, and would never survive a night on the streets without the protection of her brother. She doesn't realize this, but he does. Backstory: From birth, Ana has been loved and cherished. Her mother, as knowledgeable as any can be about how the world shapes a child, decided to protect Ana from the evils of the Gabor tribe's way of life. But in being so determined to protect her sweet baby, Pala Gabor (figuratively)smothers her and shapes her daughter in an entirely different way, without truly realizing it. She neglected to teach her daughter the ways of surviving a life constantly on the move, never taught her any kind of 'street sense' that all Romani children seemed to posses from a very early age, and never taught her to protect herself from a woman's worst enemy; a man. She realized too late what she had done to her daughter when Ana turned fifteen and grew almost over night into a woman with a beauty unlike any other, and with suitors to match. Ana never seemed to notice that Andrei became her constant guardian after that. She had always been close to her brother, and ever loved his company. And if he scared the ugly boys away, well, who was she to stop him? Motive: What is Daciana's motive? Well, you see, it is not so complicated a thing. Her family was in some port city putting on a show, financing the extravagant living she had come to expect, and Ana herself had been...elsewhere. Elsewhere, in the arms of one that calls himself Ghastly, who is not truly ghastly at all to look upon. You see, Ana has had men. But she has never had one quite like Ghastly Grimm, a true rogue of the seas. Her overprotective family has always scared away men from beyond the tribe, and none of the men within have ever truly sparked her fires. However, Ghastly....here was a man, and a pirate to boot! Her mamì had told her stories of lusty pirates stealing women away to be their wives. To a sheltered girl such as herself, this prospect held a lot of merit. To her, it was love at first sight, as any first love is to a girl of seventeen. He whispered sweet nothings to her in bed, treated her like a princess, and told her he would be back for her when next in port. But he didn't come back for her. In fact, he was with another woman the next night. Daciana would never have known if the woman hadn't been from her own tribe and hadn't given every lascivious detail to the rest of the clucking birds around the fire that night, unknowing that with every word, Ana felt like crawling under the very dirt beneath her feet. She was heartbroken. But very quickly, Daciana was enraged. How dare he defile a perfect jewel and then cast it aside for something lesser? How dare he promise to return to her and steal her away, but bed another the very next day? Perhaps it is an example of her naivete that she didn't see Ghastly for what he was. Either way, she wanted revenge. And who better than her brother to help her get it? You see, though spoiled and sheltered, Daciana has always been....persistent. Willful. Full of pride, and, perhaps, quite rash. She quickly realized that with enough coin, any pirate will talk, and soon her and her loving brother Andrei knew the city Ghastly called home, and set out to lie in wait for his return. They would make Ghastly Grimm pay for breaking her young, foolish heart. Because truly... Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. ~~~~~ Some things that could/might happen: Ana realizing she can't scare Ghastly. Ana instead targeting Rosa and Georgie(and any other woman involved with the Grimms, including perhaps Raj). The hiring of mercs. Something going horribly, horribly wrong for either or both sides. Andrei will be played by Nyx, and he's...missing some part of his moral code? He is more than willing to protect his sister and make her happy by any means necessary, including killing people. She, however, doesn't know that last bit emotion_dowant The possibilities are truly endless. emotion_awesome

{Who's Lurking in the Shadows?} Guardian Name: Mocha Personality: Energetic, loyal, enterprising Chosen Name: Saif ibn Kadir Personality: A demure young woman, her greatest asset is her willingness and ability to talk to people (or, well, listen and provide questions - she stammers when she talks about her own hobbies). She functions well in social settings and is an absolute stickler for ettiquette - she makes certain to learn the fashions and traditions wherever she's staying. What many don't realize is that, of course, her application of fashion and manners is her way of getting into all the best gossip circles (and of course she belongs! Foreigner though she may be, she knows exactly what to say and who to please, and she always brings the sweetest, most luxurious morsels as thank-yous for hospitality), and then getting all the best information. Despite this, she's beginning to get too old to flit about social circles and dances single, and people are beginning to look upon her suspiciously. She makes friends quickly and has the ability to keep up the appearances of loyalty, never doing anything to sabotage someone - something that can hurt her, since she's always prized making alliances above her own comfort. Her true loyalties lie, of course, with her family first, but she may need to learn that sometimes the best defense is a good offense. Backstory: Her father was a wealthy chocolate merchant from the Wardwood equivalent of Yemen. As such, she grew up coddled and wealthy, a little complacent in her place in the order of things. She and her twin brother (he's older by a few minutes) were the greatest of confidants growing up, and she often trusted him with all her secrets - as he trusted her with his. She grew up trained in all manner of etiquette and customs, as was only proper, Though spoiled and accustomed to the lot that befits a wealthy young lady, Saif moved to Sunderland with her brother only a few months after her family's deal with a different family who traded textiles (a deal that, unbeknownst to, well, most residents of Sunderland, went quite south!). Her brother acts as their father's official representative in Sunderland, while she enjoys parties and social gatherings like the sweetest of social butterflies. This serves to hide the fact that most of their family's money is safely squirreled away in Wardwood Yemen, so that the pair cannot take too many risks - but it also means that they have to make many beneficial trades to maintain their lifestyle. Motive: Ferdinand Grimm and her brother, Hoawin ibn Kadir, had, ah, relations during a negotiation a few years back that Hoawin had been trusted to perform on his father's behalf. They parted amicably, of course, and nothing seemed to go wrong...at first. But three months later, the Kadir family's shipment to their trade partner had inexplicably gone missing. The trade partners, of course, blamed the Kadirs, and the Kadirs blamed their trade partners. That was, until Saif stepped in. Some sleuthing led the family to suspect the Grimms, once they figured out that Ferdinand was indeed related to the well-known Jacob Grimm, who had of course also been quite interested in both the Kadirs' chocolate (an expensive luxury, one that demanded high prices in Sunderland and certainly would have created profits for Jacob) and their trading partners' coffers of expensive textiles. Saif is ready to make her way into the Grimms' circles like Ferdinand once did the Kadirs', looking clueless, sweet, and innocent without her brother - perhaps starting by courting one of their men? She does need to make a match, and soon!

 Thank you all for entering! It was simply a pleasure to look over all of your fantastic entries, and I must say it was rather hard having to pick. We do hope you don't let these amazing concepts fall to the wayside, as they're beautiful characters, and there's nothing wrong with having a whole menagerie! Now then... The winner of the buck is... Ashtiel Arykosa! If you could please send me your certing info, that would be great! Just like doublechecking here~. We're both deeply looking forward to what you'll do with Daciana, and please, please do bring this into hilarity. HOWEVER. Like all good things, there is more! There are indeed consequences for making this decision rather hard on us. And thusly.... MoonRazor..... This lovely doe is yours. We do hope she'll be a good fit for Lucian (we certainly thought so!) and perhaps we'll see this dashing young man around soon.... Especially at the wedding. Plus we thought it would be even more hilarious because she's got more of Unwanted's coloring...Same to you on getting me the info for certing! We both can't wait to get into this mess with the both of you!

We need to have a plotting season on aim. This wedding must be crashed in spectacular fashion. MOON, Daciana would totally throw in with Lucian once she realizes his goal of targeting Rosa. Ugh, this could become truly amazing.
