She wasn't entirely sure where she was. In fact she had come across this town in the forest and was standing at the edge of the village for a while now, trying to place wither she had ever bee to this place. Looking down at herself she realized she was quite the sight. Covered in debri and mud, sticks and leaves it had been awhile since she had a decent meal or bath. Rubbing her arms she looked down at the radaku she had managed to ...acquire? That wasn't quite the right word...the beast had found her in the forest and now refused to leave her side. It was because of her that she had managed to survive this long.
Still getting use to her being around she had tentatively given her a name Nixav as she was tired of referring to her to as beast. Reaching down she gave the creature a small pat, this was a village Nixav had brought her to but it wasn't home. Sighing she couldn't blame the creature, in fact Nixav had managed to get her to some sort of civilization after what felt like months of wandering. How had she been able to do it when she was young? Perhaps...the sense of time passing was different then...
Taking a step forward Niav opted to stay outside of the village and Korra assumed it would be the last time she would see her.
Sighing she ran a hand through her messy hair, she got the odd stare as she came to the center of the village, but for the most part she was tired and and wanted some real food. Surviving on what Nixav had caught for her she felt a bit silly, she should of learned how to hunt from her father, she always said she was going to. But first she needed to find her way back home.
Coughing as she tried to talk to the first person she came across she realized she was parched for a drink so perhaps that was the first thing she should try and get. It wasn't hard to find someone who sold food and water but as she reached into her pockets she realized that she had very little in the way of currency.
"Excuse me.." She managed in a squeak to try and catch the vendors attention. With a hand she gestured towards the delicious looking baked bread with some sort of fruit spread on it. It made her mouth water and that helped get her voice going. "How much?"
The vendor gave her an appraising look, as if judging her based on her current state of messiness. Finishing with the customer he currently had he turned to face her. He was a large man, reminded her of Uncle Chal the fact he was a shifter probably added to that.
"Ah..just take it." He managed in a low gruff voice as he looked around to make sure other customers were close enough to hear him. Taking a slice he offered it to her quickly. The jam was spread thickly and her fingers trembled as she felt its weight settle into her hands.
Looking up she shook her head, "No no..I can pay...I don't have much but.."
"Just take it girl," The vendor managed with a small smile, before he pointed to the vendor across from him. "My neighbor there sells the best sweet water...why not go get some?"
Blinking Korra smiled, her lips were a bit dry but as she bit down into the bread she felt like her body would melt. It was delicious. "Thank you sir..." She felt guilty not paying him but turned towards the stall he indicated. Walking up to it the woman gave a quick glance to her and the half eaten bread in her hand before she gave a questioning look above her head.
"Are you lost?" The older woman inquired as she dished out a little cup of her sweet water before handing it to Korra. The young woman stared blankly as suddenly both her hands were filled with kindness.
"Ah...is it that obvious?" Korra asked quietly, taking a small sip of her beverage. It was also delightful to taste on her tongue. The older woman gave a chuckle before nodding her head slowly.
"No offense my dear but you look a little...ragged. Judging by your look you seem to be of the wind people. You seem to be far from home." The woman noted as she went to to retrieve the empty cup from Korra's hand and began to clean it.
"Ah...no....its been a long time since I've lived there...I live with my fathers in Tale now..." Korra explained as she went about finishing the bread, licking the jam off her fingers.
The woman paused for only a moment as she cleaning before she gave a slightly raised eyebrow. "Tale you say? Your..not that far from it, though I understand that the forests of Jahaur can be a confusing place if your not use to them." It was obvious the woman was trying to be kind, not many people got...'lost' especially when they were honestly only a few miles away from the border of the forest.
"Y..eah...my fathers use to tie a string to me when I was little...I got lost so frequently. I've been ..wandering for awhile now though...I got seperated from them when the extremists were...rising." Korra managed as she felt a pang of loneliness, she missed them so.
"Your poor child... come you can get cleaned up in my home..I am Avia." The old woman spoke as she placed her cup down and gestured towards the small building that was behind her.
Grateful Korra nodded her head, she was excited to get clean and to help the woman and the gentleman with anything they asked.
