Or better to say, the blaring sirens woke you up, beeping a luminous yellow. For veterans it doesn't even take a second before you are armed and ready, while others look around sleepily, taking a few moments longer to wonder what it all meant-
- When you see several pairs of luminous yellow eyes staring right at you.
And then everything fast-forwards, almost immediately clear as a second and third shadowling, yes shadowlings very much like those from the Shadow Run course pop from under the frameworks and begin to devour everything in sight.
At this point you have two options:
Stay in the room and defeat the shadowlings
Base Shadowling: 10/10 HP A particularly bold shadowling blinks at you. It waves its feeble claws and antennae at you.
OOC: ATTACKING
- All players can only roll 2d6 - 6 (2 6-sided dice minus 6) for the damage they do. - Every time you roll you take 2 damage yourself from your usual HP pool. - You CANNOT use any special effects/ Fear/ etc etc bonuses right now, you can only roll 2d6-6 regardless of what year you are in. - When your shadowling hits 0 HP (you can attack until it hits 0 HP) you have defeated it! Run away!
????? ARE YOU EVEN A HUNTER? GO BACK AND DEFEAT THE STUPID THING YOU @#$#@$#$#
How did you even pass your Hunter Trials?!?!?
Finally, as you rush outside, you see Hunters running two different directions. Sun and Moon Hunters seem to be running towards the Main headquarters, while Life, Death and Mist Hunters seem to be running towards the gate outskirts towards the abandoned town.
Nevada had been sleeping peacefully, dreaming of holding hands with a certain boy when the sound of a siren interuppted her dream. At first it was quiet cracking of the hands, a clear defiant rejection and friendzoned....
And then oh god there was a huge alarm going off. Her body woke as Leroy pushed at her mind, forcing her from the dream. Eyes popped open as she looked around, groping for what the hell was going on.
it was then she saw the little creature.
"OH MY GOD THEY GOT IN THE BASE LEROY!!!" Nevada was in her pajama's as she summoned the Tommy gun. Blasting at the shadowling.

It was hard not to tell what Dakota was dreaming about. When the alarm went off, he sat up straight in his bed and shrieked.
"Nurse Tata to Doctor lovestick's office please, Stat!" The moon hunter rubbed his eyes blearily and looked around. While this was no doctor's office, and the nurse with the giant boobs was currently not present and performing a very nice and complicated of Nurse and Doctor moment, the hunter could tell one thing was for certain.
Oh yeah that too! He looked around and his eyes landed on the shadowy form. Something that reminded him of his childhood in some way.
"Oh hell no, Not my room a*****e." Dakota flung Chama at the creature. And missed. Guess the only sword working wouldn't get any action right now.

Marcus liked being married. Mostly because he'd fulfilled his promise, and was now tied forever to the woman he loved. Waking up with her was just the added bonus.Waking up to her and a gathering of shadowlings however, was no what he'd planned on. Strange dream aside, the moon hunter grabbed the ear cuff of his nightstand, half vaulting out of the bed to slash at them.
Ami didn't "wake up" because to do that it required one being asleep. Instead she was lying on her back, eyes up at the ceiling. She couldn't fall asleep. Still. It was such a pain to be an insomniac. Even sometimes when she wanted to sleep, she couldn't. So boo on you Marcus and Lex.
The shadowlings were a tired sight for Ami. Just because she couldn't fall asleep didn't mean she wanted to stay awake. In fact, she rather fancied sleep at the moment, considering she was in her pjs. Luckily Ami's reflexes had grown quicker and she managed to kick one out and lock the door. In that time Ami threw together a semblance of an outfit- just something more than shorts and a tank top. No makeup and unkept hair was certainly a disappointment though. A ponytail would have to do. The shadowling had already figured out that oh hey, it could shift under the doorframe because it was a shadow.
It was just in time though. Her glaive was already summoned.
Pasha had been reading gun-handling manuals all night long in a fit of anxiety and stomach-twisting teenage melodrama that usually followed agreeing to join a secret military on a secret island to fight secret things that secretly tried to destroy humanity. When she'd finally fallen asleep, she'd dreamt fitfully of rooms and keys and broken things. She'd found herself being talked to be faceless voices and shown strange things as though she were supposed to choose one from the other.
And when she'd woken up - well, she wasn't alone.
Groggily, the girl rolled off her bed and onto the floor, her hair spilling out of its messy bun. "Ugah."
Now, it was simply human nature to make unpleasant noises upon discovering unpleasant things. For instance, in the wake of nearly causing a nuclear meltdown in the middle of ones kitchen, one might make a sound like a dying whale. When one trips over ones younger cousin and goes barreling into a pile of lasagna, they might make a sound like a drowning cat.
When one finds that there is something skittering around in their room, knocking over their potted plant and causing general mayhem, one make a sound roughly akin to a car engine dying in the middle of nowhere as a blizzard comes sweeping in for the kill.
"Oh - oh no." Pasha whispered in horror.
It would be wise if you summoned me now.
The skittering black shape perked its antennae and swiveled towards her.
"Um - "
Now please.
The little creature leapt, and Pasha screamed, summoning Táo just as it collided with her body in a tangle of limbs and dirt.

Ami was going to attack, but then she realized her room was not exactly the best place for a fight with magical weapons and monsters. She rather liked her bed covers neat and tidy!
The night was peaceful for what Leon could recall before his eyes fluttered to sleep, the crashing of waves on the beach that was not far away from the compound that sprayed a fine mist of salty brine in the air that they all took for granted. The quite that they were allowed in recluse between their missions and daily tasks of ever vigilant duty.
A duty that prepared them for the blaring alarms that went off without warning and had the stocky built life hunter up and out of bed.
Did he continue his habit of wearing nothing while resting, you betcha. the little shadowling that crawled around the floor getting an eyeful before the chainsaw blinked into existence and covering his shame with the roar of its machinery.
"You lost, let me help you back into the shadow run room, it will be my pleasure!"

Jerry was sleeping as peacefully as he ever slept, tossing slightly on his couch when the twanging sound made him snort and jump, "Snrkk-And one and two awhaa..?" One eye blinked a little quicker than the other before he fumbled for his glasses.
The shadowling took another bite out of the ukulele with another heart wrenching twang of broken string.
Jerry screamed-
Throwing the lamp did nothing but shatter his lamp. He quickly scrambled for the lights.
