As soon as class was over Red kicked every student from her gym, leaving them to their own devices. It wasn't until three hours later that the doors to the gym unlocked, enabling access again. There was no official announcement. Anyone who should up would have heard it from word of mouth: Red intended to bring Jericho back. You know, that one dragon that went on that one raid? That ate several humans and was turned into a giant monster that sank the island? The ones that shot lasers from its eyes and rose the island after it sank it only to sink it again? Whether any of the rumors were true it not didn't matter. What mattered was that this "Jericho Bloodbane" was going to be brought back to Halloween soon.

As the students began to file in, Red ignored them. As usual. Red appeared to be preoccupied with writing something. The blackboard on wheels next to her seemed to be filled with writing. Perhaps it was a good idea to give it a quick read before taking a seat...

The OOC

Mission briefing will be coming soon, aiming to brief either tomorrow or the day after. This is the follow-up to Reds Class. You do not need to have attended that class to be part of this.

This is open to all Amityville students and faculty. No hunter golems, horsemen, or ToTers please!

There will be Insanity, Consequences, and a Boss Battle in this. There will also be no set timelines 'cause I suck at keeping to those. c:

To interact with Red, be sure to quote me in your post. If you have a question, quote+ask your question in OOC.

Also? Do not reserve posts! Write a line or two of RP, THEN go back and pad it if you must.

Here are the mechanics for this boss fight from Page 7:

The OOC

For a quick refresher, this is now what Red looks like however she is more solid and less foggy currently.

Also? The battle has begun! You can stick to Red's plan, or deviate from it. This is an ORP battle meaning there are no turn restrictions or post orders, save for the limits some roles have.

Blade_Kuroda

Jericho:

Jericho starts the battle with -15 HP. Having Red haul him from Deus Ex to Christmasland then landing on him didn't do him any wonders. For now, Jericho is considered "stunned" until you move with him, meaning anyone can make first post to kick this battle off. Or peace conference/powwow/whatever happens in RP.

Starting Stats:
HP: 85/100
Modifier to Hit: -10
Fears: Yes

Moveset:

Struggle:
Jericho can attempt to throw off the grappling hooks that are on him, once the Grapplers have thrown any onto him. To do so, Jericho will roll 6d20. The number of dice represents which grappling hook is affected:

1. Captain: Riley
2. Roch - Shadow Step. Does not affect grappling.
3. Pokerus - Can use draconic strength. Pokerus gains +2 to grappling checks vs Jericho.
4. Alexander - Death grip, can hang on longer. Alex gains +2 to grappling checks vs Jericho.
5. Marosa - Touching him can make the toucher become addicted to touching Marosa. Only affects Jericho if he ICly touches him.
6. Sharra

Let's say Jericho rolls 2, 15, 9, 9, 19, 8. Riley would need to beat 2, Roch needs to beat 15, Pokerus needs to beat 9, etc etc.

Let's say Pokerus rolls 8. Because of her natural ability, she gains +2 to the grappling check, resulting in 10. She would hold on, and that hook would not be removed.

For every hook in Jericho, the accuracy modifier everyone rolls to hit him will be lowered. This will start at -10. If all grapplers hit him AND manage to hold him, this means everyone will just have to -4 from their total to hit him. YEAH TEAMWORK!

In the event of a tie, Grappler wins. If a grappler has not rolled within 24 hours of Jericho rolling, then Jericho wins and his modifier rises as his grappler is no longer grappling.

Flame Breath:
Yes, Jericho breathes Insanity fire. No, Red is not holding his mouth shut since she's too busy preventing him from flying/striking with his wings/holding him in place as best as she can.

Roll 2d12. The damage done affects the three posters BEFORE Blade's post. -6 accuracy as normal.

Tail Sweep:
Jericho has a tail. It is a nice, sweepy tail that can knock people down. This works just like Flame Breath, except it affects the next THREE posters after Jericho.

Note on Double Posting:
If the same person posts twice in a row and is caught in either Flame Breath or Tail Sweep, they will take double damage.

Ice Queen

As Roch has the shadow step natural ability, all attacks vs Roch will be -7 instead of -6. Roch can only do this three times this entire battle.

Fear:
Jericho can use his Fear attacks. These are single-target abilities. Treat as normal Fears. Jericho does not need to flame breath/tail sweep three people successfully in order to use them; he can use them whenever he likes.

demon_pachabel

Shehk's Vial:
If/when splashed by Shehk, Jericho will remember who he is. He will remember everything up to that point: going Insane, destroying Hunter houses and leaving them homeless, being sat on by Red, etc etc. It is up to Blade what happens here, however it will last only for three of Blade's posts.

Draconic Rampage:
If there are no grapplers pinning Jericho down, Jericho can roll 1d20 vs Red. If he beats her, Jericho escapes Red's hold and can rampage freely. His modifier will then become -15.

Yep. -15. Protip: keep Jericho grappled.

Grapplers

Please use this when posting:

GRAPPLER

*** RP POST HERE ***

Name:
HP:
Grappling Tries: 5/5
Damage:

Grapplers:

1. Riley:
2. Roch:
3. Pokerus:
4. Alexander:
5. Marosa:
6. Sharra:

Current Accuracy: 10 - (# of successful grapples) = #

To Grapple:
Roll your attack dice. If you successfully hit Jericho, please mark it in your values.

ie, I'm Riley and I managed to roll a total of 11 against my BFF foggy dragon. 11-10 = 1, it's a hit. This is what my post would look like:

Quote:

GRAPPLER

hi im an rp post pewpewpew.

Name: Faux Riley
HP: 60/60
Grappling Tries: 4/5
Damage: 1

Grapplers:

1. Riley: Grappling!
2. Roch:
3. Pokerus:
4. Alexander:
5. Marosa:
6. Sharra:

Current Accuracy: 10 - 1 = -9

Yes, the Grapplers have changed to whether or not you're currently grappling as the other version was too confusing. XD Let's say I'm Alexander next. This is what my post would look like. Let's say Alex rolls 3 and 5.

Thanks to Faux Riley, Jericho's accuracy is -9. 8-9 is -1. This is what the post would look like:

Quote:

GRAPPLER

ohai this is where an rp post would go if i was making one ok

Name: Faux Alexander
HP: 60/60
Grappling Tries: 4/5
Damage: 1

Grapplers:

1. Riley: Grappling!
2. Roch:
3. Pokerus:
4. Alexander: Missed!
5. Marosa:
6. Sharra:

Current Accuracy: 10 - 1 = -9

At this point Alexander can try again until he hits, or his grappling hook/rope breaks.

Tries:
Every grappler can try five times before their rope/grappling hook breaks. When it breaks, a grappler can become a scrapper. Also if your rope breaks, quote Marushii to let her know. Who knows? There might be a way to keep grappling...

Keeping a Grip:
Jericho can sometimes Struggle. When this happens, Blade will roll 6d20.

6. Sharra

ie, first dice is vs Riley, second is vs Roch, etc. When this happens, all grapplers must roll 1d20 against him. If the grappler wins, they are still grappling. If Jericho wins, his modifier rises. If a grappler does not roll vs him within 24 hours, it is assumed that Jericho wins. Grapplers win in the event of a tie.

poke mattix

Seussi

Due to Pokerus and Alexander's natural abilities, they get a bonus when rolling against Jericho. Add +2 to your rolls vs Jericho. ie, Pokerus rolls 11; it is actually 13.

Tips:
+ Someone with The Eye might want to throw it on a Grappler. It might help.

+ Grapplers CAN use their Fear... before they grapple. If they use their Fear or take any other action, they are no longer grappling, and as such the modifier will change.

+ It might be best to have the more experienced/higher yeared Students make a move first to give the other grapplers an easier time grappling.

Medics

Please use this when posting:

MEDIC

*** RP POST HERE ***

Name:
HP:
Heals Left: 5/5
Heal Target:
Amount Healed:

To Heal:
Roll 3d8. The total is the amount healed. You can only use this five times.

Extending Heals:
If after you've healed five times, the bell breaks. You can continue to heal at the cost of your own HP. To heal, roll 3d8 again AND subtract 10 HP from your total HP value. You can do this until you have 10 or less HP.

Tips:
+ Dissipation occurs at -10, not 0.

+ Do not let Jericho or Red hit 0 HP.

+ You CAN use your Fears and/or attack.

+ Characters that have posted twice in a row AND have been hit by either Jericho's Flame Breath or Tail Sweep attack will take double damage. See the "Important Tips for All" below for additional information.

Infusers

Please use this when posting:

INFUSER

*** RP POST HERE ***

Name:
HP:
Ammo Remaining: 5/5
Amount Infused/Damage:
Infusion Total:

To Infuse:
Roll your attack dice. Modifier will be the total given by the grapplers. Please note the "damage" in "amount infused/damage," then add it to the "infusion total."

ie, let's say an infuser hit Jericho for a total of 3. I hit him for 4. The total will now be 7.

Tips:
+ Keep an eye on the grapplers' posts. These posts will tell you Jericho's current modifier. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you use the latest modifier! If you are confused, it is best to wait for someone to post the latest value.

+ Use your standard attack dice to infuse. For Y1 students, it's 2d6 or two 6-sided dice. Subtract the current modifier. The result is the amount you infused.

+ When you are out of ammo, you can become a scrapper.

Scrappers

Please use this when posting:

SCRAPPER

*** RP POST HERE ***

Name:
HP:
Damage:

To Attack:
Roll your standard attack dice. Use the modifier supplied by grapplers.

Tips:
+ Don't die.

+ Use your Fears.

+ Don't post twice in a row. Space them out, give other RPers a chance to throw in some hits too and to give Blade a chance to respond.

+ Really, REALLY don't post twice in a row. Anyone posting twice in a row that gets hit by one of Jericho's attacks will take double damage..

Important Tips for All:
+ Don't die. Death occurs at -10 HP, not 0 HP.

+ If your character dies, please quote Marushii and notify her of your character's temporary demise. You will be given instructions as to what to do next.

+ Don't post twice in a row. Jericho can and will HURT. Check out the spoiler for additional information.

+ Characters that have posted twice in a row AND have been hit by either Jericho's Flame Breath or Tail Sweep attack will take double damage. Let's say this is the post order:

- Bob
- Bob
- Sarah
- Sam
- Jericho attacks with Flame Breath! He rolls 2d12 and gets 5,7. 12-6 = 6 for those hit.

Flame breath would hit Bob, Sara, and Sam. Sarah and Sam take 6 damage, however as Bob posted twice he would get hit for 12. Ouch!

Let's say this happens:

- Bob
- Jericho attacks with Tail Sweep! He rolls 2d12 and gets 3, 12. 15-6 = 9 for those hit.
- Sarah
- Sarah
- Sam
- Charles

In this case, tail sweep hits Sarah, Sarah, and Sam. Sarah is hit for 18, Sam for 9. But wait! Sarah gets double-damage. She actually takes 36 damage. It is in your best interest to space your posts out.

+ If you are confused and/or have questions, please don't hesitate to let me, Marushii know~

Christof had been out of touch with a lot of things, concerned about his future, sorting out his present, trying not to think about the past... but when the rumor swept past, the hunchback couldn't help but become interested.

He had long let go of the dragon he had thought lost... but the more he had spent time with the insanity-renewed Riley, the more and more the absence of the dragon had weighed on him. It just hadn't been the same. They had started school around the same time, had fought together- with each other and common enemies... had created together... He wouldn't have been able to craft Chopper nor the Dune Buggy if it hadn't been for Jericho's help in raiding the old junk yard.

The more time passed, the more he realized... he missed his friend.

But Jericho's situation had been different from Mistress's. There had been no stone form, only fog and a memory of a creature that once was. How did Red think she could even contain him, let alone... whatever would be necessary to bring him back.

Suffice to say, the Igor was there at the appointed time, hovering in the classroom like a looming, lopsided shadow as he read every word on the board multiple times.

Sammy had gone back, fed the minis, wrote a note or two and left it on the bed and one with Ixxy. She changed into dry socks, dry pants, everything dry and ready to go where they went next.

Returning to the classroom the ghoul crossed her arms, eyes flaring her head tilted ever so slightly as she flexed the fingers on her burned arm. Insanity was a risk, but how often had she danced the edge of it? How much did it actually effect her?

She turned to Red speaking quietly, keeping her voice as civil and level as she could,
"Hey Red, if we're going to save Jericho, why do we need 'scrappers' is that in case we run into... well the hunters? Or something else if it involves insanity."

Marushi

Her eyes turned next to Christof, a nod of her head, "Hey. Figured I'd see you around. Riley will probably tag along and Maladore as well. You going to do Medic work with the Doc?"

In three hours Mort was quick to shake off the snow, icing, and most of the gingerbread tree scent from his clothes. But there was no room to be clumsy this time, no padded ground and Joy to look towards. Just more Insanity.

The zomboil was nervous when he re-entered the gym, eyeing the board with hunched shoulders and pocketed hands. Two in particular caught his eye, but he wasn't sure which was best . . . Well no, that was a lie: he knew where he wanted to go, but he wasn't sure if it was appropriate. Sammy was asking a pertinent question, so he sat down and waited for the professor to answer, tracing the contour's of Thor's figure.

He had walked in without his traditional hoodie or even a coat. Just a shirt, belt, jeans, sneakers, a red ribbon tied to the belt strangely, and one metal arm he was quite focused on. Thor had to be in perfect condition, for if his wiring went bad midbattle . . . Mrrr. He didn't want to think about it.

This was an experiment and he was going to see it through, start to finish. His own personal whispers wouldn't deter him from that.

The field trip to Christmas had been fun, but far too brief. It left Taima with a lingering sense of wanderlust that had persisted even after they had returned to Halloween. Although she had technically completed the class, she couldn't help remembering what the professor had talked about before they had ventured into Christmas: the student that had been detained; his unfortunate affliction; and the impending effort to recover him.

It was none of her concern, really. She hadn't known the missing student, nor was she particularly invested in his safe return. What she was, she realized as she wandered aimlessly through the library, was bored and restless. It was a feeling usually cured by some time in the air, but today, with the prospect of a greater adventure at hand, there was really only one option.

After a quick trip back to her dorm for the small notebook and pen she had dropped off after the field trip, she returned to the gym. The presence of the others already inside went largely ignored in favor of the writing on the chalk board. Taima read over it and jotted it down before taking a seat, her wings already twitching a little with the urge to go.

"You will keep t'the back of the group," Roch said sharply as he and Terra walked in. "Y'can heal, but you WILL NOT get anywhere close t'the dragon, do you understand?"

"You are being unreasonable--"

"Sure I am. My first thought was the reasonable one--if I knock y'out and leave y'in your room nothin' will happen t'ya except a witch of a headache," he told her bluntly. "This ain't like the trip we went on earlier. This could wind up with y'worse than dead."

"Then why are you coming?" She demanded.

"Because unlike you snots with idiotic plans of adventure, I knew the guy, and the more guys like me goin, the less idiots like you dyin." He hoped.

Christof's brows furrowed as he listened to Sammy's question. He was an Igor, yes, but the medical field was really Malodore's expertise. His healing patch-jobs often were slap-and dash at best.

He was built to punch things, and that was what he intended to do.

Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Mort. The zombie had grown considerably since he had seen him last- and his arm... it was fascinating. The hunchback gave his friend a small wave.

Malodore arrived with its full compliment of materials, including the field medical kit it had made in Cricket's class. It felt a strange mixture of emotions - wariness, to be sure, but also excitement and a grim determination. This was, truth be told, the first time it had willingly thrown itself into danger. Every other time it had been swept into it quite suddenly, or the stakes had suddenly been forced upwards at a moment's notice. But this time, it had made a choice.

It was here.

It read the blackboard, nodding firmly as it came to the Medic part of the description. Indeed. It would ensure that nobody died, though its gaze hardened a bit at the contact with Insanity section. Its unbeating heart squeezed a bit with pain at the idea of saving one dear one only to lose another... but inaction would mean Jericho was lost forever.

Fear had to be faced, and strength had to be drawn from it. Was that not their role?

Its own role clearly decided, it turned to look at the others present - it nodded gratefully at Sammy, whose presence had never been in doubt; was gratified to see Christof. Riley would be along before too long, it was certain. Mort and the others were... a surprise, but the more the better.

It sat down slowly, surprised at the odd emotions the gathering was creating in it.

Walking in, Marosa stood with his arms crossed over his waist.

Three hours wasn't enough time to prepare oneself for a rescue mission, but he had promised his help, and the fey wanted to be true to his word.

Glancing over the board told him the roles that were going to be filled, and he grimaced, unsure of which role would fit him best. It looked like there was already a medic, and he wasn’t sure if that was the type of job he wanted in the first place. He didn’t know this dragon very well, this Jericho, but knowing that he was someone that someone else wanted to rescue?

It was worth going on the mission for.

The faerie stood silently, eyes skimming over the words on the blackboard repeatedly.

Three hours was plenty to get ready, and Alexander liked to take his time so he used up all three to get himself cleaned up, changed into some fresh hopeufully not smelling like Christmasland anymore clothes, and to pack his first aid kit from Nurse Crickets class into a backpack that he then slung over his shoulders. He debated going to find Yin, to let the other boil know what was going on, and what he intended on doing, but decided against it. Instead, he had just jotted down a quick note to leave on his own desk in case somebody should stop by looking for him, and made his way out of the undead dorms and back towards the gym.

Upon arrival he was quick to seek out a familiar face, relieved to see that Mort was planning on going but feeling slightly anxious about the entire thing as well. He made his way over to his friend and sat down next to him, silent, because he likely didn't need words to convey any feelings that he was currently having. Just a small smile, meant to reassure his zombro, but probably more to reassure himself. He then turned his attention towards the board with all of it's writing, eye trailing along the words. Many of the jobs seemed dangerous, with exposure to insanity higher in some then others. He wasn't really sure what to think about that. Insanity had already transformed him once. He had died in a place that was concentrated with it and had come out of it all alright. He didn't have any delusions that this meant that he was invincible or even immune to any long term effects. No, it just meant that he was extremely lucky.

Hopefully that luck could continue to hold out now.

Settling back into his seat, he closed his eyelids with a small sigh. He knew that Yin was going to be angry when he found out about this, when he learned of the risks that Alexander was taking, of the dangers, of how he hadn't told him so that he could come along too. But it was at least comforting to know that he would be back at Amity, hopefully safe. Hopefully Sophie would stay behind too. That would really be for the best.

His eyelids opened again, and he sat up straighter in his seat. Resolved. Determined. He was going to help get Jericho back, because he needed to have some hope that it was possible.

Sammy looked at Christof a single eyebrow raised as flames danced in her hollowed out eye sockets. So he wouldn't be a medic it seemed, or rather was irritated at her comment. Sadly she didn't speak sign language and they lacked Amrita to translate.

She turned back to Red one last time shrugging so slightly, "I learned from some of the best." Was all she said before moving to join the plague doctor who had entered the gathering.

When she sat beside Malodore it was easy to tell her emotions, a hint of anger and sadness, a heavy dash of bitterness, all dumped atop a heavy portion of weariness. She seemed more tired then anything as she slumped beside the doctor.

The atmosphere was grim--it wasn't the time to give people crap, and even Roch looked deadly serious as he checked his zippers and pulled out a pair of fingerless gloves. Strapping them on, he looked at the board, mentally listing what parts he could fill.

Was he willing to risk insanity for Jericho? He'd done it when fighting Riley, right? The questions rushed through his mind as he weighed his abilities against what was needed. He was not arrogant, although many would probably be shocked to hear it. He KNEW he could die. He knew he wasn't a match for certain things, and he'd be the first to admit it.

His eyes went over the group, passing over Christof, Malodore, Sammy, and the other "war vets" without pausing on any of them--but it stopped at Taima, a scowl pulling at his lips, then landed on Marosa. He had no IDEA who that kid was. So he walked over to the fey, still adjusting his gloves.

"Yo," he said. "Name's Roch, and you are?"
