Video Games - Axel loves video games. Not the frilly magic caster or foo foo story line type. The bloodier and more intense the better. He prefers to shoot and blow up things more than run back and forth doing a million quests. His favorite games are CoD (any of them), Gears of War and Island of the Dead. At least his top favorite ones anyway. He has a specific collection of games which he calls 'Keepers'. If its good and re-playable he will keep it, other wise he just takes the game back to the video game store for cash or credit.
There have been many times where he's stayed up days on end, shirking off his studying for playing online multi-player with other gamers around the world. Which has lead to his grades in school being some of the worst his teachers have ever seen. He just would really prefer to shoot some body with a sniper rifle a hundred yards away than crack open a text book. Besides, he plans to become a video game tester anyway once he graduates school so who needs to know that junk anyway?
Shelter Helper - When he has the free time, Axel does volunteer work down at the local animal shelter. He LOVES animals of all types. Furry, scaly or hairless. Axel believes that it is up to humans to take care and love every animal that needs it. And the shelter animals certainly need loads of love and care.
Whether its cleaning out pens, walking the dogs, playing with kittens Axel does it all. Sometimes he even goes outside of the shelter he works and does even more volunteer work when he can. Wrangling stray animals or helping with adoption events. He has a very high success rate at getting animals adopted. Ever since he was little he's always felt that every animal everywhere should know the love and warmth of a forever home. That no animal should go hungry. And if he ever comes across those who have abused animals, lets just say it takes a lot of will power to keep him from beating the s**t out of that person.
Some days Axel likes animals way more than people. Because they don't judge you or make snarky remarks. All they want is love, pets and food.
Mixed Martial Arts - At a young age Axel's parents had him in martial arts to keep him busy and out of trouble. He had fallen in love with the whole concept of being able to cool moves and sit someone down on their a** if they got a bit too cocky with you. Or course, his sensei's would always tell him that it was only suppose to be used for self defense. But the thrill of beating down an opponent still lingered in the back of Axel's mind. The full on contact of striking and grappling, dragging one's opponent down onto the ground and making them tap was just too temping to ignore.
As he got older though he began studying outside of just general karate. Studying Taekwondo, Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It eventually became a sort of release for him. All his anxieties and frustrations just melted away once he was in the ring and fighting. Occasionally from time to time he will enter into competitions or cage matches to bring in a bit of money if he's really strapped for cash. Though having to explain the swollen eye and bruises at school is interesting enough.
And forget about it when other guys learn of his hobby and skills. Every now and again he gets a guy who thinks he's tough that tries to take him on. Usually, as long as he's not too seriously bigger than Axel he lays him out flat on the ground with minimal injury and perhaps a bruised ego.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Hassaleh Heatstroke! - LOCKED
* How it Works - Sailor Hassaleh collects energy and punches towards the direction of an enemy that sends a waves of both heat and sand.
* Range - Arm's length. Can only hit one opponent at a time.
* Duration - 20 seconds
* Casting Action - Hassaleh pulls his clenched fist back, gathering energy before punching his enemy.
* Damage Summary - Anyone who is hit directly by Hassaleh's energy and sand will feel as if their skin is on fire and may even find they have blisters as well.
* Avoidable through - Avoidance. Stepping out of the way.
* Frequency of usage - Once per battle.

Virtues & Flaws
What Drives Me Virtues:
Animal Lover - Axel loves animals. LOVES them. His apartment is a general zoo or animals he has rescued or adopted. He has two snakes, three dogs, two cats, five parakeets, a couple of ferrets and various tanks filled with fish. He's always felt a stronger connection with animals than people in general. Like they understand him and he understands them. Animals are non-judgmental like people are. Its one of the main reasons of course as to why he volunteers at the shelter.
He would do just about anything to make sure that an animal was happy and safe. If he happened to spot a cat that was in danger of getting hit by a car he would run out into the street with no concern for his own safety to scoop up the cat and get it out of the road. He had crawled into a storm drain once to rescue a puppy that had gotten stuck. Sure he was filthy by the time he got out but it was satisfying to know that that puppy was safe and would be going to a place where it would be loved and fed and not stuck in gross storm drains anymore.
Even at the park he takes a bit of time out of his day to stop and feed the pigeons and squirrels. Of course, most people consider pigeons as nuisances, but Axel knows its not their fault. The reason they are so numerous and annoying is because people made them that way. They can't help what they are and now humanity scorns them instead of doing something to control their numbers. It makes him angry that humans can go out and destroy packs of wolves that are struggling to make a come back in the ecosystem to control their numbers but turn a blind eye to the pigeon over population crisis.
A White Knight - He is in a sense a white knight. Deep down inside Axel has a set of moral codes that he tries to his best to adhere to. But he knows that different situations sometimes compromise those morals, making things grey instead of black and white.
If he sees a girl being harassed by a group of guys he'll stop what he's doing, giving them a strong talking to and if that doesn't work lay them out flat. He opens doors for everyone. Little old lady gets her purse stolen? Axel drops everything and runs the thief down. He wants nothing more than to make sure the innocent are protected. That they don't have to fear walking out their front door because of some jack asses.
He just feels this driving need to help anyone who needs help, even if in the end he is not all that helpful. At least he tries!
Good Memory - While perhaps not always the brightest bulb in the box, Axel has a fairly good memory. Though occasionally he has slight hiccups from time to time from sustained head injuries while fighting. But in general he has a good grasp of retaining information he is told or specifics about things he's seen. Its not a photographic memory though. He wouldn't be able to draw you a picture of a vase with a flower in it that he saw two weeks ago, cause he just doesn't draw and has no skill in it. So please don't ask.
If you give him verbal directions on how to get somewhere he rarely gets lost. Tell him how to put together something and its done to an almost perfect t. Though he might skip a few steps if they seem to just slow down the process. He's good at remembering faces and sequences of numbers as long as its no more than ten numbers at a time. And while he generally does poorly in school, he can remember lectures his teachers have given. Though ask him to write it down and it'd probably all be short hand. He tends to use witty little phrases or songs to remember school things, it just makes it easier for him.
Flaws:
Cuts To The Bone - While Axel does have a good side, he also has his a*****e side which rears its ugly head from time to time. He honestly has no qualms about tearing into someone and breaking them down using his words. Especially if they have made him angry or upset. The backlash is generally harsh and devastating to the individual. And there is no surprise that if he knows something particularly embarrassing or degrading to the other person he will use it in verbal confrontations.
Depending on the situation he may or may not feel bad afterwards. If he feels it was justified he won't and if it ruins friendships oh well. There are always other people to hang out with. Some would say he has no social buffers as on occasion he can be an a*****e without even thinking about it. Either by making some sort of rude or inappropriate comment. He's like a lion stalking it's prey. Any weakness can be used to hurt.
Insecure - The opinion of other people weighs heavily on Axel though. Even though he's an a** and a poor student, what others think about him and how they perceive him gives him slight anxiety. On the outside it doesn't show as much as it thrashes about on the inside. When going to new places and meeting new people he always feels sick right before hand because of that anxiety. Half the time he has to talk himself out of talking himself out of not going.
Its something that he has had a hard time getting through. It especially effects him if he is going to a new class or a new fighting match. He wants people to think positive of him but in the end he knows everyone, or at least believes that everyone, is a judgmental p***k. They'll judge you on your looks, on your clothes, what you say. Its all just a never ending circus show where he feels like he's the clown with his pants down around his ankles and everyone in the stands is laughing at him. Some days he wished that he could read minds, that way if anyone thought negative of him he could just punch them in the face.
He isn't rich, nor does he have all the latest and greatest gadgets or the coolest clothes. Really he just looks like any ordinary guy. But if he feels you think him something beneath you it really just chews away at his self esteem. A lot of it probably comes from his father. Growing up Axel never felt like he made the man proud doing anything. Once he had gotten older, Axel had become slightly lackadaisical in his school work. What's the point of trying to make a man proud when he's never told you he was ever proud in the first place? There's no point in trying to give something you have little interest in you all when you feel you can't live up to the one person who's suppose to be a support for you's ideals. It leaves him with a bitter taste in his mouth half the time when he thinks about it.
Low End of the Curve - While not dumb, Axel just doesn't do well in school. His parents are actually surprised he hadn't been flunked yet. Somehow he manages just to skirt by with grades, but his dad figures its because the teachers of tired of dealing with him and just hand wave him on to the next grade.
In all honesty, Axel just doesn't like school at all. So he pays just enough attention to get the basics. He never studies, opting for either working on his martial arts or gaming. Cause blowing up people online in CoD is way more important than passing Monday's exam. He'll turn in homework sure, but usually if its something that he whip together right before school that's how he does it.
He's had a few teachers talk to him about his flippant regard to his school work, but generally he just sits there looking bored. Its a speech he's heard multiple times. How they wish he could do better or does he need some tutoring after school. Axel would prefer to spend as little of his non-required school time at school thanks.
