INSANITY NIGHTMARE STATUS EFFECT

- If your Insanity infected (from the Phoenix status effect from the meta) character goes to sleep, or perhaps even has a lapse in consciousness, they will begin to dream. However, this is not a normal dream, the lingering taint of Insanity has affected their subconscious, and even faintly, those around them. That means, even if your student did not attend the meta, as long as those infected by Insanity linger around them, they too will dream strange dreams, dreams which they cannot wake up from normally, dreams that they have no control over. Dreams which their mind has convinced them first and foremost that whatever they are experiencing is real and extremely terrifying

gaia_nitemareright [ The Unknown: ] You are in a strange room full of curious items, trinkets that sparkle and gleam to the touch, familiar items, perhaps ones belonging to you or those close to you. Suddenly, you notice a room below you, simple and dark. All your instincts are telling you to run away from it. You try to run, walk away, but your feet continue heading down the dark hallway as you can only helplessly watch yourself move forward; descending downwards.

Your fears get the better of you as voices, images and flashbacks of people you know, begin to taunt and accuse you. Your friends, those you watched dissipate and die begin to form around you, cloudy shapes corrupted and melding together whispering to you accusingly. Why didn't you save them? Why didn't you help? It gets darker, you cannot see anything now, not even yourself, even as you feel something grab you and pull at your feet, dragging you forward. There is nothing you can do as you are pulled slowly, struggling the entire time; to your demise as the vague figures of your friends simply watch. You wake up just before you realize exactly what the thing was at the end of the tunnel... perhaps they are still waiting for you.

gaia_nitemareright [ The Chaser: ] You wake up, and the first thing you see in your room is a shadow from the corner of your eye. You recognize them: a person, a creature perhaps, someone from your greatest fears, but there is something off about them, the colour washed away from their appearance, grey, as they get closer they talk to you in convoluted whispers that cause you to shake in terror as you reach one hand out -

- Somehow you escape and meet up with your friends. You try to tell them something is after you but no-one believes you. They laugh it off. Slowly, during the course of the day, you watch them get killed, one by one, and even as you try to fight the assailant, seemingly invincible, off one last time, you realize that you are the only one who can see them. They make a gruesome spectacle of your last friend and slowly turn to you... you realize there is no escape. They whisper to you, perhaps words you understand, perhaps something nonsensical entirely, playing on your greatest fears and paranoia. At long last, you accept your fate, and just right before the pain escalates, you finally, truly wake up for real, but something grey shifts in the corner of your eye.

gaia_nitemareright [ The Strangers: ] You notice there is something wrong with your friends, their bodies are slowly showing strange signs of infection, tips of their fingers, eyes, arms, turning grey. At first it does not seem like a huge issue, until you notice from the corner of your eye the way they look at you, hungry, as you turn around, the way they move together, eerily in unison, the way they whisper to you, sparking your greatest paranoia.

Your friends have been replaced by the Insanity, and you know it wont be long before it takes over them entirely your friends now only strange, mocking replicas. Even if you show your friends mercy, they begin to attack you, screaming and hissing about bringing you Home. Desperate, you fight them off, you realize you need to kill your friends and bring them peace. One by one, you take out each of your friends, as they chase you. One by one they turn to stone until there is only one left. Just one more person, you can do this.... You finally wake up, none of this is real, yet you feel as if you remember seeing a flash of grey tainting your friends. Can you really trust them?

gaia_nitemareright [ The Reality: ] You wake up, and are surprised to see you are surrounded by your friends, and family. They are smiling at you, encouraging you. It is peaceful where you are, you are living in a small cot, a small haven, a place where you feel truly at peace. You can smell the warmth of the place, a place built from your happiest memories. You feel secure and at peace.

Days pass by, everything seems perfect, every day another beautiful moment. And yet, you feel a strange heaviness in your heart after each day, as if this was not meant to be. As if you should not be here. It tears into you, and unable to bear it much longer, you ask one of your friends or family members where you are. They tell you it doesn't matter, and you should stay. If you stay here, you will be here forever, it doesn't matter where your body really is. Horrified, you try to leave, but as they chase after you and try to cajole you, you realize there is only one exit.... Just before you attempt to take your own life, you truly wake up for real, or is your body still sleeping and rotting somewhere?.


gaia_nitemareright [ The Loop: ] You and one or several friends encounter and incident, and you can only watch in horror as they die before your eyes.

You wake up, and relive the day again, understanding immediately what you must do: save them. You manage to avoid the first incident, but because of it, you inadvertently kill off another friend or make the situation worse as your friend simply falls for another incident and dies again. You wake up and relive the day every single time you try to change the timeline and fail, watching your friends die in different sequences. Their deaths get more and more gruesome. At long last you realize what the problem is: yourself. If you had not changed the timeline, things would not have gotten so out of hand. You have a choice either to kill your friends and put them out of their misery or to kill yourself. As you commit to this choice, you finally wake up, for real, perhaps to relive the same timeline again.

- Hunters have caught "the flu"! This varies from Hunter to Hunter.
- Trainee Hunters: Trainee Hunters have the worst symptoms, from nausea to a feverish chill to a chronic dizziness that won't stop spinning at times. Talking is difficult, words come out slurred, and even their weapon speaking in their head seems too loud. Walking around is extremely difficult and requires tremendous effort. Using the slightest bit of physical exertion is tiring and summoning a weapon leads to a total blackout.
- Intermediate Hunters: Intermediate Hunters also have the feverish chill and nausea as well as odd spots of distortion in their vision as colours often blotch and shift in hue. Sometimes they see odd things: a shadow of a figure behind a hunter that doesn't exist at all, there seem to be odd shadows jumping once again at every angle. Walking around takes a good amount of physical effort, like running a marathon. Summoning a weapon is extremely draining, they can do this for all of one attack before passing out.
- Full Hunters: Full Hunters vary in effect, but for NEW full Hunters, the feelings of a feverish chill, nausea and colour distortion also prevail. Shadows seem to be surrounding them at all angles, unexplainable and entirely imaginary. Summoning a weapon is difficult, all damage is HALVED, but they can still do this, although charged attacks for NEW full Hunters is just about impossible. Walking around, even standing up still makes them feel queasy, it is still difficult.

STATUS EFFECT: INTENSE BISHOUNEN

ALL PLAYERS: Have been struck with a case of intense bishounen syndrome. Yes, even the girls. Yes, you have all become beautiful bishounen guys, just in time for Valentines day, you are welcome. Side effects may include:
- Long beautiful bishounen hair
- INTENSE EYES SO INTENSE
- A long sultry gaze
- Occasionally, bishounen sparkles
- Instant six or eight packs of your pick and some extremely well proportioned muscle tone
- Deep manly voices.
