Attire» He likes contrast - strong, dark colors matched with creams or white and bright accents. Favors blues and purple, and always tries to look as fancy as possible. He only rarely takes his veil off.

Personality» Akakios is a charismatic, if subdued, young man. He has no qualm against using this charisma to his advantage if it proves useful to him, and to get what he wants. He can be erriely quiet at times, and tends to carry an air of sadness and melancholy around him at all time.

His subdued nature can be a little off-putting to others, but he either doesn't notice or doesn't care much. He lives his emotions deeply and doesn't do any effort to restrain them - he finds no shame in crying in public, for example. He knows that bottling up does more harm than good and does his best to encourage others to express themselves freely in his presence, be they mortal or god. Akakios believes in two things - emotions, as well as knowledge, are meant to be lived and shared, not simply kept for oneself. As he gains in maturity and confidence, he will start to get himself involved more and more, and will be completely unafraid to voice his opinion, even if it proves impopular. Akakios is also a perfectionist - everything needs to be done at the best of one's ability, or not at all.

In spite of his grown-up appearance, he still has much to learn and can be surprisingly naive at time.

Lament's curiosity knows little to no bound - at first his curiosity went into learning to write and read, but has since panned out to pretty much anything - more words, more discoveries, the reasons why others act the way they do. It is quite easy to get his attention if one offers knowledge, and the beloved ones can just as easily get favors out of the boy this way. He can ask questions quick enough to make nearly anyone's head spin, and enjoys learning for the sheer joy of learning, and now that he older is coming to enjoy teaching as well. He focuses easily on things, learn quickly, and can remain still for long period of times, uncharacteristically so for a boy his age. He can certainly be more than a little overbearing, and certainly is an upcoming scholar as well as a composer.

His quest for knowledge led him to dabble into many things - from carving, to gardening, to the starting of calligraphy. Akakios has a wide range of hobbies outside his influence, and he fills his time depending on where his whims take him.

Abilities» Compose - Words come easily to Lament - as long as he remains within his domain. He is able to compose and put together poems, small texts, and stories in a record time, as long as they are laments, and they do not miss their intended mark.

Relief - If you can summon a feeling, you can also take it away. Just as easily as he can induce grief through his laments, he can take someone's grief away - and make him a part of himself, usually gaining a better understanding of the source of the feeling.

Inspire - Inspire inspires mortals/immortals with dirge/grief/sadder ideas. Akakios, by using this power, instigates such skewed creativity in others to create a work of whatever art is in their nature to do that is an honor of Lament for whatever being it is that needs lamenting. Essentially, writer/musician/artist would have prayed to him for this blessing during their grief for help in a divinely inspired soliloquy or gravemarker or whatever in days of yore and he would have chosen whether or not to inspire them.

The Pantheon
Harmodius, Creation/Destruction He came out from the scary-looking pod, it seems like so long ago now... I was so young, and I didn't really understand. I don't completely understand now, either, but... I just hope Crys and I were able to help him with his sorrow. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best we could do at the time, and we put all we had into it. It made me realize that it wasn't truly the dead that needed me... but those who remain behind.

Lucius, Universe Harmodius' son. He died when the sky went away, I remember that. It was so scary... I don't think ill ever be able to forget it, even if I tried. Harmodius asked us to assist his passing, honor him as it were. It was hard, but... we did our best. I just hope it was enough. And that wherever he is... He is at peace.

Gianfar, Knowledge Gianfar was my first teacher, but he's missing now. I just hope that he's okay, wherever he is. Hopefully he will return so he can see how much I learned in his absence. I would love to talk to him again.

A gift from his father, before he remade the Underworld. Akakios is rarely seen without at least his book, and seems to prefer quills to pens, in spite of quills being less practical.



A gift from Taj, contains the parchment Mystery has given him.



A scrying mirror, given to him by Nergal. It allows Akakios to contact his father - or any dead soul of his choosing - through it.

Grace : Jessica's daughter. Her and Akakios have more or less grown alongside each other for all of his life. The girl can see the dead, and wishes to become something akin to a priest, or guidance to help the living mourn their lost ones. With that in mind, she had entered Kios' service, and also serves as a close friend and as a mortal anchor and opinion, as he lacks mortal influence since his rebirth was quite different. Grace is played by midnight_medea.

Sanaet : A priestess with a rather rough life - though if Akakios has any say in it, that life is now behind her - permanently. She is a close friend and companion to Lament. Sanaet is played by mistalina13

While at the pantheon, Akakios lives with Tajnevaki and Keme, as outlined here. He also still has that little backroom in the library should there ever be a need.
