Thousands of years ago, when the worlds were one, the people lived in peace and harmony together. They celebrated life and light, a gift they believed was given to them by a realm known as Kingdom Hearts. However, light cannot exist without darkness, and soon the people began to fight each other for the light and in fear of the dark, sundering the one world into many. It was at this time that Kingdom Hearts sought to protect itself, creating a blade of mystical powers known as the χ-blade. Still the war raged on, and the people sought a way to acquire this blade, bringing about their own mystical weapons known as Keyblades. Champions of both Light and Darkness vied for dominance in what came to be called the Keyblade War, and the ensuing clash was so terrible in its violence that it shattered the χ-blade into twenty pieces, seven of light and thirteen of darkness. In the aftermath, Kingdom Hearts vanished, never to be seen again.

Still the war raged on, now simply for dominance of light or darkness, and the sundered lands formed three unions: first, the Kingdom of Light, ruled by a monarchy which sought to bring Light to the world and eradicate the darkness; second, the Dark Dominion, governed by autocracy, which desired darkness to reign supreme; third, the Lands of Twilight, lead by democracy, which sought an equal balance of light and darkness while taking side with neither. The Keyblades continued to show themselves, and soon each union developed schools to train those who wielded them, as well as any others who desired to join in the war.

For thousands of years, the Kingdom of Light and Dark Dominion have been at war. With neither side being more powerful than the other, they were at constant stalemate. Recently, however, the tide of battle has begun to turn in favor of the Dark, and inexorably the defenders of the Light have been whittled away to almost nothing. On both sides of the war, the Keyblades have been brought into play; they seem to be more numerous on the side of the Light, but more powerful on the side of the Dark. However, the Dark Dominion has learned to negate the powers of the Light Keyblades, and has been steadily destroying those who can wield them.

Nestled deep within the heart of the Kingdom of Light, there is a school for a certain type of student. The students are often chosen to come to this school around the age of thirteen or thereabouts, and one thing connects all of them: a strong heart, strong enough to wield a Keyblade. The selection process is unknown, and just as varied as the students themselves. By the time their five years of schooling is finished, each student is capable of joining the war between Light and Dark. The school is run by Master Eraqus, the foremost trainer of Keyblade Masters in the kingdom. There is a wide and varied selection of classes, from magic to healing to war tactics.

Another thing that sets these students apart is the Galiants. The Galiants are people and creatures from around the world who choose to partner themselves with someone. The reasons for the partnering are as different as the Galiants themselves. The Galiants also aid in training the students, as each Galiant is capable of giving their Keeper innate abilities that make them suited for particular skills.

Life at Kingdom Academy isn’t much different from your typical school, save for the combat lessons. There is teenage drama, rivalries, frustrations over poor marks, and bad cafeteria food, just as there is in any other school. However, underlying the general gaiety and commotion is a sense of urgency. Each student knows before coming to the school that they are being trained for combat, and will be joining the war against Darkness as soon as they graduate. But there is one thing the students don’t know, and the teachers are doing their best to make sure the student’s don’t find out until absolutely necessary.

The war against the Dark has gone much worse than expected. The Keyblade Masters have been nearly wiped out, and only five remain, three of whom are currently teachers at the Academy. Terra, Ventus, and Aqua are teaching classes in their respective disciplines while Sora and Riku are still fighting on the front lines, though they lose ground at an alarming rate.

Master Eraqus has ensured that all of the teachers are aware of the situation outside of the Academy’s walls, however they have agreed not to worry the students with the grave news, which could potentially undermine their learning. Instead, they focus on training and teaching everything they know in order to ensure their students’ survival when they inevitably graduate and head to the front lines.

  • Galiants - players have the option of giving their characters what is called a “Galiant.” The Galiant is a Disney character who is bound by their own will to the “Keeper.” The Galiant can choose when to bind him or herself to the Keeper, though most tend to choose to bind at birth, thus being able to ensure the Keeper is raised and taught in a way the Galiant requires or desires.
    • Galiants may or may not age as the player chooses.
    • Galiants have their own physical bodies separate from that of their Keepers.
    • Players may choose whether or not to keep the back-story of the Galiant they choose. (i.e., the Beast being the prince of his castle and turned into a monster by an Enchantress, Hercules being kidnapped and turned mortal, et cetera).
    • If multiple players choose a Galiant from the same Disney movie/show/etc, they may work together to match the histories of their Galiants or not as they see fit.
    • Having an evil Galiant does not make the Keeper evil, nor does having a good Galiant make the Keeper good. The Keepers and Galiants are separate entities, and the Galiants choose their Keepers for various reasons. It could be that an evil Galiant is trying to corrupt an otherwise good person, and conscript them for the Dark Kingdom, whereas a good Galiant could be trying to redeem a character from the Dark Kingdom and have him/her join the Light Kingdom. Anything is possible!
    • If a Galiant typically works as part of a team that is rarely, if ever, seen apart (i.e., Chip and Dale, the Three Good Fairies, Lock, Shock, and Barrel, et cetera), they can be counted as one Galiant if the player chooses. Alternately, teams may be split up if the partner Galiant hasn’t been chosen yet.
  • Keepers - the character a Galiant is assigned to can be any Final Fantasy, The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts, or original character you want. Due to the nature of Galiants, a Disney character cannot be a Keeper, though they can be a non-partnered Galiant. Likewise, a Keeper can be non-partnered as well.
  • NPC - There are certain characters and Galiants that are not allowed to be auditioned for. Those characters are as follows.
    • Ansem the Wise - Ansem the Wise is the leader of the Light Kingdom, and is partnered by his Galiant, King Mickey.
    • Master Xehanort - Master Xehanort is the leader of the Dark Kingdom, and is partnered by his Galiant, Maleficent.
    • Sora - Sora is one of two powerful Keyblade Masters currently fighting on the front lines, and is partnered with his Galiant, Goofy.
    • Riku - Riku is one of two powerful Keyblade Masters currently fighting on the front lines. His Galiant is forthcoming, and is partnered with his Galiant, Donald.
    • Kairi - Kairi is one of the seven Prince/Princesses of Heart, and is currently with Sora and Riku on the front lines providing services as a healer. She is partnered with her Galiant, Princess Anna of Arendelle.
  • Headmaster - The Headmaster of Kingdom Academy is set in stone, currently played by Soryuju Ryutetsin.
    • Master Eraqus - Master Eraqus is the headmaster of Kingdom Academy, though he does teach a few classes as well, particularly those focusing on the Fifth Year students learning the use of their Keyblades. He is partnered by his Galiant, Yen Sid.
  • Teachers - Teachers can be auditioned for, as can their Galiants. The following teachers are set in stone, however more teachers can be added to the roster.
    • Terra - Teaches combat with a student’s primary weapon, and will assist Master Eraqus with training those Fifth Year students who have Keyblades as necessary.
    • Aqua - Teaches general combat-magic, and will work with students who have the potential to become powerful spell casters.
    • Ventus - Teaches advanced skills outside of combat and magic to students, and will assist with enhancing a student’s innate abilities.
  • Keyblade Masters - graduated students who have earned their Keyblades and are to be sent to the front lines of battle
    • KEYBLADE MASTERS MUST BE AUDITIONED FOR AND APPROVED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Prince/Princesses of Heart - seven beings of purest heart, whose Galiants are the original Disney princesses (Aurora, Belle, Alice, Snow White, Cinderella, and Jasmine) that were listed canonically in Kingdom Hearts.
    • Kairi is the only Princess of Heart who is set in stone. Because the seventh Princess was Kairi in canon, she will have another Disney Princess as her Galiant.
      • Kairi is not a student. She will be out aiding the war, providing her services as a healer.
    • Prince/Princesses of Heart are the only characters required to have a Galiant.
    • PRINCES/PRINCESSES OF HEART MUST BE AUDITIONED FOR AND APPROVED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Weapons - Keepers will have their own weapon of choice, and may dual-wield if practical. Galiants can help determine the weapon to be used, but it is not mandatory.
    • While totally unique weapons are encouraged, it is not necessary. So if someone else has a broadsword, you can have a broadsword, too. But if you’d rather have a b*****d sword or a Claymore or a rapier or a chain-sword, that’d make things much more interesting!
    • All students will begin with a “basic” version of their chosen weapon. Around the fourth or fifth year, depending on the combat prowess of the student, they will be awarded with an upgraded version that will boost certain aspects and abilities of the character.
    • Basic weapons do not provide stat enhancement, however, the “upgraded” version will increase the top three stats by up to two (2) points.
  • Keyblades - Keyblades will be assigned to students in their Fifth Year at the Academy, however use of the Keyblade is not mandatory.
    • Use of the Keyblade must be auditioned for and approved.
    • Keyblades may be auditioned for and assigned before the Fifth Year, however there must be a good backstory and reason for getting the Keyblade early. “Because I want one” is not, I repeat, NOT a good reason.
    • The Keyblades do not replace a character’s weapon, but rather are used to enhance the character’s stats and/or abilities.
    • The standard enhancement a Keyblade gives is an increase of one (1) point to all stats while the Keyblade is in use. More specific enhancements must be auditioned for, not to exceed a total of fifteen (15) points, with a maximum of five (5) points to a particular stat.
    • Keyblades can not be dual-wielded. You get one (1) Keyblade. That's it. One. Uno. Ein. Ichi. Whatever the number "one" is in Russian. Just in case it wasn't clear the first time, you can not have more than one Keyblade.
    • Keyblades are intended to be a last resort. They are specifically reserved for major boss battles and/or classes specifically for training in the use of the Keyblade. Anyone caught using a Keyblade outside of the training class or a boss fight will get their Keyblade privileges revoked. There will be additional in-character punishments as well.
      • If you want your character to abuse their powers and go to the Dark Kingdom, CLEAR IT WITH ME FIRST. Otherwise, it's three chances to edit out the abuse before having the Keyblade revoked.
      • Once the use of a Keyblade has been revoked, there is no getting it back.
  • Spells/Abilities - Galiants can be used to help determine what types of spells (fire, water, gravity, et cetera) and abilities (high-jump, dodge-roll, et cetera) a keeper can use. For the purpose of this RP, a "spell" (outside of the normal Fire, Blizzard, Cure, et cetera) is defined as any ability that alters or affects the world around the caster or affects another character and is often characterized by drawing from the user's mana pool (MP), and an "ability" (outside of the normal Jump, Glide, Strike Raid, et cetera) is defined as anything that alters or affects the caster or the caster's weapon directly, which may include ancillary effects such as a shockwave.
    • When it comes to adding elements to a weapon, if the element is added to the caster's weapon, it's an ability, and if the element is added to someone else's weapon, it's a spell.
    • Upgraded abilities can override the lower levels, so you don't have to waste a skill slot on jump if you can do a high jump, or a slot on glide if you can super glide. Alternately, if you have a character whom you think is likely to use the lower-level ability separately from the higher-level ability, you can go ahead and keep them both. However, this does not apply to spells. You can't cast Fira if you don't know Fire, for example. This only applies to physical abilities.
    • For the multi-level spells (ie Fire, Fira, Firaga), the various levels increase strength by 50%. Here's a handy-dandy little chart thingy so it makes sense:
      • Standard (Fire, Stop, etc) - no change, 1x Magic Attack
      • -ra (Fira, Stopra, etc) - 1.5x Magic Attack
      • -ga (Firaga, Stopga, etc) - 2x Magic Attack
    • You do NOT have to list Guard as an ability. If it's just a basic guard, anyone can do it, it's like ducking. Do you see "can duck" as an ability? No, you don't, so don't waste that slot on something so basic. Now, if you want to do something special with a guard, such as a counter-guard or guarding someone else, that would take up a slot.
    • If a character has multiple magical elements they are able to use, their strength in those elements will not be as high as someone who works exclusively with a single element.
    • The number of spells and abilities a character can have will be determined by the level a character is at, to be explained below.
  • Passive Abilities - Some abilities will be "passive," like Combo Plus or Leaf Bracer, meaning that they're pretty much always in effect and don't have to be activated or anything. Passives do take up an ability slot, so don't think you can get away with more than your allowed abilities just because they're always active!
  • Spellbilities (you read that right) - Sometimes a character will have an ability that will also double as a spell, or vice versa, as it's something that may have multiple effects in multiple areas. Most commonly this is done by having a spell activated either during or at the conclusion of an attack. However, if an attack only has the weapon imbued with an element and not actually causing a spell-like reaction, then that would simply be an ability.
    • Let's use Blizzard Raid as an example. Depending on how Blizzard Raid is described, it could be either an ability or a spellbility. If, in the act of throwing the weapon at the enemy, a Blizzard spell is activated at any point, this would be a spellbility. However, if the weapon only has the Blizzard/Ice element attached and a Blizzard spell is not activated at all, but simply deals Ice damage, then this would be an ability and not take up a spell slot. I understand if this is confusing; please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need further clarification.
  • Limits/Limit Breaks - a Limit Break is a spell or ability that does not take up a spell or ability slot. Limits or Limit Breaks are essentially "desperate times call for desperate measures," and can only be used when the character is on the verge of defeat.
    • Using the Limit or Limit Break WILL (I can't stress that enough) deplete the user exponentially, draining them to the point that one more blow will finish them off, essentially 1 HP. These Limits or Limit Breaks are not to be used lightly.
  • Stats - A breakdown of certain attributes of a character, assigned a certain number in order to denote the strength, weakness, or prowess of the stat.
    • A ranking of 10 in a stat is considered typical of the average human.
    • Stat enhancements with either "upgraded" weapons or Keyblades are not subject to typical stat limitations, except as listed for the particular weapon type.
    • A character's hit points and mana pools (HP and MP) are calculated based on the Defense stat (HP) and Magic Attack stat (MP). HP is Defense times 4, MP is Magic Attack times 2.
      • Example math: Defense = 12, M. Attack = 12, HP = 48 (12 x 4), MP = 24 (12 x 2). Simple, right?
      • Yes, HP and MP are affected if your defense or magic attack is altered. This goes for both positive and negative effects, and lasts for the duration of the effect.
      • HP and MP Boost abilities add 2 points overall. Every plus (+) adds an additional 1 point overall.

  • Students
    • First Year - Students can have up to three (3) physical abilities, and three (3) spells. Stats are up to 50 total points, no more than 13 points per stat, and no less than 1.
    • Second Year - Students can have up to four (4) physical abilities, and four (4) spells. Stats are up to 60 total points, no more than 16 points per stat, and no less than 1.
    • Third Year - Students can have up to five (5) physical abilities, and five (5) spells. Stats are up to 70 total points, no more than 19 points per stat, and no less than 1.
    • Fourth Year - Students can have up to six (6) physical abilities, and six (6) spells. Stats are up to 80 total points, no more than 21 points per stat, and no less than 1.
    • Fifth Year - Students can have up to seven (7) physical abilities, and seven (7) spells. Students may also audition for a Keyblade, and will learn the use of one. Stats are up to 90 total points, no more than 24 points per stat, and no less than 1.

  • Non-Students
    • Teachers - Teachers can have as many abilities and spells as the player wants, and may audition for a Keyblade. Stats are up to 110 total points, no more than 30 points per stat, and no less than 1.
    • Keyblade Masters - Graduated Keyblade Masters can have as many abilities and spells as the player wants, and must audition and be approved for a Keyblade. Stats are up to 110 total points, no more than 30 points per stat, and no less than 1.
      • If a Keyblade Master is also a student, they are restricted to the stat limits and spell/ability allotment of the year they are in.
    • Prince/Princesses of Heart - Prince/Princesses of Heart can not have any combat-based abilities, but may have support and healing-related abilities and spells. Princesses of Heart may apply for a Keyblade, however the Keyblade can only enhance the healing/support abilities and spells. Same rules apply for stat/ability limits, depending on what class a student is in, or if the Princess of Heart is a teacher.
      • As Kairi is a Princess of Heart, and canonically has her own Keyblade, despite Kingdom Academy being Alternate Universe, Kairi may have her Keyblade if her player chooses.
      • Prince/Princesses of Heart are non-combatants, and therefor do not use the Stat system.
      • Prince/Princesses of Heart do have the ability to use their weapons and/or Keyblades offensively, they simply will not have any special abilities or magics that allow for combat. They can defend themselves, yes, but they won’t have the expertise in combat to be able to fight along side the graduated students and/or Keyblade Masters.

It is not necessary to use all of the points or slots allotted for the various classes. These are listed as a maximum total only.

This is probably going to be the easiest part of the RP. Behold:

For a physical attack: Attack || Defense
  • If Attack is higher than Defense (Attack > Defense), the attacker wins, and the defender takes HP damage equal to half the difference rounded up.
  • If Attack is lower than Defense (Attack < Defense), the defender wins (and may counter-attack), and the attacker takes damage equal to half the difference rounded up.
  • If Attack and Defense are equal (Attack = Defense), neither wins or loses, and both wind up in a lock or stalemate with neither taking damage. Or one point if you two really want to be brutal to each other.
Same thing for a magical attack, just put Magic before Attack and Defense, take those stats, same formula. Simple, right?

Speed/Agility simply determines if certain actions can be taken against another. For example, trying to dodge an attack would invoke the Speed/Agility stat. If the attacker’s speed is higher than the defender’s speed, the defender would fail in the evasion. If the defender’s speed is higher than the attacker’s speed, the defender would succeed in the evasion. If they have the same stat value, we can flip a coin (where attacker is heads, or 1, and defender is tails, or 2), or the players can come to a mutual agreement about who wins and who loses.

Please keep in mind that the stats are not all-encompassing. They’re here for a reference, and are not the end all, be all of Kingdom Academy combat. Only use these if role playing doesn’t determine the proper scenario, or if you and whoever you’re combating with come to a disagreement.

  • In addition to what is listed above, follow the Gaia ToS, as well as the standard Guild rules and guidelines. Specifically these and these. Oh, and this and that, while we’re at it.
  • FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STAY IN CHARACTER. If I see any more Sephiroth/Kuja yaoi smut in this iteration of the RP, I’m going to choke a b***h. With a chocobo. Think of the chocobos! I'm sorry, but Sephiroth doesn't giggle or bat his eyelashes. Seriously.
  • Put your profiles in the Audition Thread. ‘Tis what it’s there for. Alternately, you may also PM me. You may only post your profile in the Kingdom Academy profile thread after I have approved it. Any profile posted in the Kingdom Academy profile thread without first being approved will be deleted.

Kingdom Academy Keyblade App

(And by F.A.Q.s I mean a question that was asked once that I gave an answer to that isn't already answered anywhere else that also has some significance. And one that was a joke. ;D)

Q: How would you define the school? Is it general education or higher education?
A: It’s more middle/high school to college type. There’s no set “definition” since this is based in a fantasy realm where everything is ~*MAGICAL*~ and doesn’t necessarily follow the same rules as our world.

Q: Are you going to go in depth and name classes that are under one study/field?
A: I'm considering it, mostly as a point of reference. While this is a school-based RP, classes and whatnot aren’t the main focus. Think of it more like Harry Potter. We’ll see more stuff outside of classes than inside of them.

Q: Are we going to have courses, and will we require a certain number of credits to graduate?
A: Since there’s really no set curriculum for the RP, students can graduate after reaching a certain amount of experience and responsibility. For example, a student who routinely skips classes, is caught breaking rules, and can’t even light a candle magically isn’t going to graduate, even if they’re in their fifth year. I did add in courses, though, mostly so we don't have schedule inconsistencies with time skips and whatnot.

Q: Are there going to be uniforms?
A: I’d prefer not to have uniforms, but we can say there is a dress code policy where students who want to wear a uniform may do so, and those who don’t want to do so just have to dress somewhat modestly.

Q: Are there school sports?
A: Only if beating each other up in sparring competitions counts. 8D Nah, we can have sports teams and whatnot. Blitzball team tryouts start Friday on the third week of school. (Someone else can organize this, I'm terrible with sports XD)

Q: Is there a school curfew?
A: Yes, 10pm is lights out time.

Q: Is there going to be an “evil” teacher, like Snape, that adds dynamic tension to the scene? A person everyone loves to hate?
A: Maybe not named Snape, but if anyone wants to play a lovably despicable character, they may audition. ;3

Q: Will the students be housed in dormitories?
A: Yes, though anyone who lives close to the school has the option to live at home. Dorms are located in a wing to one side of the dining hall. Even numbered rooms are on one side of the hall, and dedicated to the girls, while odd numbered rooms are on the other side and house the boys. There are two students to a room. Whether or not they get along is an entirely different story~ ;D

Q: What's the technology level?
A: Tech level depends on the world. Any KH-canon worlds haven't made any advancements in the technology they have from the most recent game. For worlds you're making up, you can have them at whatever technology level you want. I would just like to keep laser beams and teleportation terminals and all that fancy high-tech futuristic stuff to a minimum. Also, you can't have your own car. Getting that in before someone asks. For personal tech, things like laptops, desktop computers, and MP3 players are fine, but please no game systems or cell phones if at all possible. We have magic to replace the cell phones, and I doubt the kids would be allowed to have their own games on campus.

Q: Are duels between students allowed?
A: Only with strict supervision in a designated area, and with magically blunted weapons to avoid risk of serious injury.

Q: What world is the Academy on?
A: Essentially it’s the Land of Departure. Twilight Town is nearby, though, so some classes may be held there if the teachers think it’s a good idea. Not to mention there’s plenty of places in Twilight Town for adventurous young heroes to go get into trouble, too! ;D

Q: Are the living situations co-ed?
A: Boys and girls will share the same building, but will not be allowed to be in the same room together.

Q: Are there rules regarding student relationships, or student/teacher relationships?
A: RP-wise, relationship away. School-wise, don’t get anyone pregnant, don’t spread STDs, and only if it’s consensual between both parties and neither party is a minor (under the age of... let’s say 15). As for student/teacher relationships (school-rules, not RP rules), don’t bang your students while they are still *your* students. Once the teacher is no longer “responsible” for the student (i.e., so long as that student isn’t in that teacher’s class), and it’s consensual, then sure fine.

Q: Will the Galiant and Keeper be able to travel back to their home world again?
A: I would say so, since this is a school RP. There’s likely going to be breaks and holidays and whatnot.

Q: Is there a limit to what worlds our characters can be from, or what race our characters can be?
A: Nope. Make s**t up, I don’t care! xd Just give it a name and an alignment and I'll add it to the world list.

Q: How does travel between worlds work?
A: There are several different methods of transportation that can be utilized by characters.

First, Gummi ships. I'm going to assume we all know what a Gummi ship is. If not, here, educate yourself. Now, in the Kingdom Academy universe, these ships are either commercial or personal, though one would have to be fairly rich to have a personal Gummi ship. Think of it like flying in this world: you can either take a commercial airline, or if you're rolling in dough you can have your own private jet. Students won't be allowed their own personal ship, but their parents or guardians can certainly allow the student to use said ship. Just not at school. No taking your car to Hogwarts, people! In the world list clear up there at the top of this page, worlds that allow commercial Gummi travel will be marked with a {G}. Private Gummis can get pretty much anywhere, but be prepared to be attacked by Heartless if you enter the Dark Dominion without their permission.

Second, the train. The train is essentially an expansion on the one that took Sora from Twilight Town to the Mysterious Tower in Kingdom Hearts II. I call it the Magical Disney Train. The train system has been expanded to include several worlds spanning all three kingdoms. Primary stops include the capitals of the kingdoms, the Academies, and various tourist traps. In the world list waaaaay way up top, known worlds with a train station will be marked with a {T}.

Third, dark corridors. Everyone knows what these are, they pop up in every KH game ever, you basically rip a hole in space/time with your Powahs of Dahkness~. All the bad guys use them at one time or another. While these will allow your character to go wherever they need to go, they are still restricted to dark characters and Nobodies. This means that unless your character is a traitor, anyone at the Kingdom or Twilight Academies will not have access to these corridors, unless they're a Nobody. Now, please keep in mind that these corridors will corrupt anyone who travels them without protection. The primary means of protection are the Black Coats, though the only other time someone can travel these corridors safely is if they are a Prince/Princess of Heart. Because the PoH has no darkness in his/her heart, there's nothing there to corrupt, so they're by nature safe.

Fourth, the Lanes Between. These are basically the Dark Corridors for the cool people. They're fraught with Darkness, and the only method of protection from that Darkness is the Keyblade Armor.

And now for the fancy restrictions everyone hates, yay!

The Keyblade Armor/Black Coat are severely restricted. I am going to be excruciatingly picky about who will be allowed to have a character with either one of these. Because these basically allow free travel between the worlds, I will only allow someone to have one of these forms of protection if I feel like they can be trusted to not abuse their powers. YES I'M PARANOID, DEAL WITH IT.

Q: What about the Star Shard?
A: No. No Star Shards. Stop trying to break my game. D<

Q: Can “normal” or "upgraded" weapons be Heartbound (i.e. Heartfelt Adventure style), and thus storable in hammerspace?
A: Yep. Alternately, they can be just like normal weapons and kept in sheaths!

Q: Can my character have/wear hotpants?
A: Go for it!

Q: Are there only 5 keyblade masters?
A: Oh hell no. Keyblade auditions are open, the only question is who gets approved and who doesn’t. xd (Psst, the only way you won't get approved is if you try to make your Keyblade stupendously powerful, or if you're trying to take a Keyblade that clearly belongs to a canon character [like the Kingdom Key or Way to Dawn or something], or if it's for a Keeper under fifth year without a decent back-story for earning it early. Again, "because I want one" is not a good reason to give your fourth or lower year student a Keyblade.)

Q: Is Ansem the Wise a keyblade master?
A: Only if it’s canon. Which doesn’t look like it, according to Wiki. Unless and until the games themselves (or Tetsuya Nomura himself) say(s) otherwise, Ansem is just the head honcho king dude. Now if you mean the Seaker of Darkness Ansem, still no, he beat the crap out of people with that shadow dude thingy.

Q: Can my Keyblade grant more than three points to a stat?
A: Only if it grants less than three to other stats. The maximum stat increase is 15 total, no more than 5 per stat.

Q: Is a Galiant necessary for being able to perform magic?
A: The Galiants aren't necessary for magic, but having one can enhance your ability to perform said magic, and if the Galiant is of a different magical nature than the Keeper, can even teach some minor magics outside of the Keeper's usual limitations. But only very minor spells.

Q: Does a Galiant’s power grow with his/her Keeper? Or do they always have that power, and just work better as a team or something?
A: It depends on the Galiant. For example, Zeus, being a God and all, would have Phenomenal Cosmic Power, but would willingly limit himself so as not to fry the brain of the poor, pathetic mortal he’s working through or with. Meanwhile, Iago (again, for example) doesn’t have that kind of power since he’s just a manipulative loudmouth parrot, but he would be able to grant his Keeper some powers of manipulation, things like that. Zeus wouldn't be able to grow, since he's already so powerful, but Iago may be able to learn a few new tricks.

Q: If a Galiant existed beforehand, why do they bond? Does it give them form, ala summons?
A: The Galiants will bond for different reasons: some for personal gain, some for mutual benefit, some for shits and giggles; the reasons are as varying as the personalities of the Galiants themselves. In some rare cases, such as the Olympian Gods, yes, the bond does give them a more tangible form, but for the most part the bond is made for other reasons, depending on the Galiant.

When a Galiant bonds to a Keeper, they're granting that Keeper a certain amount of use of their inherent powers. Through this bond, whatever powers that Galiant has becomes channeled by the Keeper. This is two fold: not only does another being possess the skills/magic/what have you that the Galiant grants, but the Keeper can also boost the Galiant's powers to a certain extent via the "powers growing thing" that was mentioned before. Again, there are certain limitations, such as with the Zeus and Iago example mentioned earlier. Since Zeus is already a God and has all the power ever, he wouldn't get any boosts aside from that more direct influence, even though he may choose to bond himself for whatever reason. However, because Zeus is an Olympian God and they canonically have very limited influence in the mortal realm, he may choose to bond to a Keeper in order to affect and/or manipulate the war as he sees fit, again with limitations to avoid frying said Keeper's poor, mortal brain.

Q: Say someone lost their heart; would the heartless, then, have the Galiant in some way, like a corrupted fusion or something of the sort?
A: Because the Galiants connect themselves to the Keeper's heart by their own will, if such were the case, the original link could potentially be severed, and the Galiant could choose to re-establish the link with the Heartless in an attempt to restore their Keeper.

Q: Is it possible to damage a Galiant heavily enough to fracture or otherwise harm the Keeper's heart?
A: Yes. Killing the Galiant would be especially devastating, though, so please don't without clearing it with me and the person playing the Galiant/Keeper first.

Q: Can the Keeper/Galiant bond be severed or broken?
A: Yes. This can be done either voluntarily by either party, or can be done forcefully by an outside influence, such as the previous question of becoming a Heartless. That would forcefully break the bond, though it can be re-established. If the Galiant were to break the bond, they can do so gently so as not to damage the Keeper, though there is the potential for damage if done forcefully, such as an evil Galiant not being able to corrupt a pure/good Keeper and deciding to break the bond and thus damage the Keeper's heart.

Q: Since the Galiants are tied to the heart, can a Nobody have a Galiant?
A: The simple answer is no. The slightly more complex answer that includes KH:3D spoilers is as follows in white: First, let's work on the mechanics of a Nobody. A Nobody is what happens when someone becomes a Heartless; the body and spirit are essentially left without a Heart. However, as we learn towards the end of 3D thanks to Braig/Xigbar and Xemnasanort or whatever name he wants to go by this time, the body does seek to replace its lost heart with a new one. As I understand it, this can be done by filling the vessel with another heart, such as one taken from Kingdom Hearts itself as was Xehanort's plan using his own heart, or a new heart will begin to be forged. Here, have a Wiki quote: "[...]recently near the end of Kingdom Hearts 3D, it is revealed that nobodies can form hearts of their own as they become more self aware, and that Xehanort had been lying to the rest of the organization about this fact all along." So, at first, because there is no heart for the Galiant to bond to, the answer is still no. However, once the body begins to forge a new heart, that would give the Galiant bond something to adhere to, and would thus make the bond possible, if unstable until the heart itself is fully formed. However, by that time, the person in question ceases to be a "Nobody" by definition, as the Nobody is, again, the body and spirit without a Heart. So the answer is still technically no.

Q: When you say Keyblades cannot be dual-wielded, does that only apply to fighting with two Keyblades, or does that mean they can’t be dual-wielded with the “main” weapon?
A: You cannot run around swinging two Keyblades at once (yes I now this breaks Roxas and Valor form and what have you), but while I don’t know why you’d want to wield the Keyblade and main weapon at the same time, you can certainly do so, assuming your primary weapon is able to be wielded single-handedly. You can't use a bow and arrow in tandem with a Keyblade, for example, unless you've got an extra set of arms. If you chose to wield both weapons in this manner, however, the Keyblade’s bonuses will override any and all other bonuses given by the primary weapon, if any, as usual.

Q: Because students only have a limited amount of abilities and spells they can use, and the teachers have an unlimited amount, how are classes structured so that students can learn their magic, but still stay within the spell limits?
A: The teachers’ primary duties are to hone their students’ skills in magic and their abilities, and new spells and/or abilities will only be taught after the students are proficient in their previous spells/abilities. For example, a student who hasn’t mastered a basic High-Jump ability won’t be able to learn Double-Jump, and a student who can barely cast a Fire spell won’t be able to learn Fira, Firaga, or Firaja. RP-wise, new spells and abilities won't be learned until the student graduates to the next year. Though they can practice the higher levels of spells and abilities all they want, the student won't actually have the spell/ability/spellbility added to their lists until they start the next year.

Q: Are we doing the elemental strengths and weaknesses? Like, Fire is weak to Water, Earth is weak to Air, things like that?
A: If you want to cast a Water spell to put out a blaze caused by a Fire spell, that's all fine and dandy, but the spells themselves won't negate each other.

Q: Can you explain how magic and stuff works with the Galiants?
A: Galiants can be used as a guideline for assigning magic and abilities to a character when that character is being created. While it’s not necessary to build a character’s combat style around a Galiant, it can certainly help if you hit a wall trying to come up with spells or abilities. Really, that's about it.

Q: Is there a similar Academy in the Dark Kingdom?
A: So many people seem to want this... Fine, fine I'll work on one. Sheesh.

On the day before classes started, students were getting ready for their next year at the Academy. Most were moving in and getting settled into their dorms, others were already there. Friends met up after the summer break, and new dorm mates were found and (usually) befriended. The feast that night had Master Eraqus making his yearly welcome speech as usual without any more disruptions than normal. Students chatted amicably with each other, made plans for the next day, and spent their time catching up with friends.
