Welcome to the Cafeteria

Don't be a stranger, children! Take a seat and prepare yourself for the tastiest, most nutritional food to ever crawl on your plate <3!

~ Lunchlady Ginger

The cafeteria is a pleasant mix of pink, turquoise, gleaming white, bog water greenish brown, blood red...oh wait no, that's actual blood. From behind the counter a large, extremely muscular lady stares at you with gleaming eyes and take a puff of her cigar, and exclaims cheerfully "Hope yer 'ungry, love, cause Ginger's got some right nice treats for ya!" Something falls out of her enormous afro, and into a pot.

A green chalkboard lists the day's specials, though "Jollymeal C" is hardly what anyone would refer to as descriptive. Hopefully one of the students at the tables can help you out. The sound of something screaming comes from the kitchen, followed by an ominous silence.

"Always a good sign when lunch fights back."

Open House Rules Reminder

General Rules
- Only ORPs are allowed for this event, and only certain characters may create one. There will be several "area" ORPs available as well as...
--club booths (only the club president may make a booth thread, these can be clubs both "official" or those with enough members to apply)
--sample classrooms (only teachers may create these)
--various information/refreshment booths (ToTers and Student Council members may create these)

Pro-tip: If you create a booth, decide whether or not you want it to be game-heavy/RP lite, or if you want it to be more conversation/interaction heavy. Games are fun ~ but remember that it's hard to really hold a conversation during them.

Quest Character Rules
- Only characters that have a quest thread may by played in this event
- You may play more than one quest character if you so wish
- You may only post in the event subforum
- Each QC will get a "visitors pass"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

~ this acts much like the skull pins, in that it locks down unwieldy natural forms, and in addition, also locks down the visitor's natural abilities. Meaning your character won't have access to any of their powers, reapers won't be able to summon their weapons, ghosts won't be able to go through walls, etc. etc.

Pro-tip: While not against the rules, we would recommend that you avoid going too deeply into the topics of your character's background, their natural ability, their FEAR attack. As these are the main things we may ask for you to change should you enroll your quest student at some point.

A black figure stalked the shadows of Amityville Academy's hall. A piece of paper waved back and forth in the movement from the figure's neck marking him as one of the visitor's checking out the Academy. A potential new student perhaps? If one got close enough they might be able to make out the figure to be a dragon based boy, a Night Fury to be more exact.

Only when the hall seemed emptied of others did the figure emerge yellow eyes gazing at a door. Turning his head up slightly he took in the scent of food and quickly made his way to the door. Takeo wasn't exactly the most friendly monster at first, perhaps a bit stand offish to others and accidentally rude perhaps, but really he is just socially awkward.

Tail swishing behind him sharp eyes looked about the cafeteria as if ready to attack anything that jumped out at him. The only person there though it seemed at the moment was the lunchlady. With the appearance of food however Takeo's eyes suddenly lost their sharpness as he quickly hustled to the counter with the look of a hopeful snake knowing there was a delicious mouse being held above it's head. Looking down he was soon disappointed to see a weird concoction there instead. Blinking he twitched his wings which were folded neatly behind his back, "...Fish?" Takeo questioned still hopeful that maybe he was getting a decent meal.

Food... no guitar... food... no guitar... Roch had been torn as he gotten to school, presented with a guest tag to join the open house thing. But, obviously, food had won. The train food hadn't been nearly enough for the food loving boil, and this was the perfect chance to try out the stuff he planned on living off of for the next couple of years.

He stepped into the cafeteria, looking around and wondering why it seemed a bit empty. That thought didn't last very long as his eyes fell on the massive... lady? Hell, if she was cooking, she was a lady to him! Standing behind the counter. He grinned at her, then glanced at the sign about taking a seat and looked around. He wanted the one closest to the food, so he headed across the room and dropped down at the table nearest the counter, only then looking at the monster kid that was already there.

"Nice outfit," the punk boil said. "Maaaan, I'm starving! That train ride was WAY too long."

"You can say that again," a deep, scratchy voice put in. "I'm jackin' starving." Pause. "Ate all our snacks on the way. Didn't last long enough. They never do." Nahm surveyed the available offerings behind the counter with apparent satisfaction, the gleam of teeth brightening in the darkness inside his hood. "Don't think I care what it is right now, as long as it's not wiggling. Even if it is."

The faint glow of his eyes shifted towards the other two boils with their guest passes. "Wiggly food makes me cough. Tickles on the way down," the grue said, and grinned.

He cast a look towards the door. Ahm had better catch up soon, or he was going to eat his brother's share.

"Yeah? I've always liked it, myself," Roch said. "Then again, there isn't much food I don't like. Um, name's Roch, by the way," he said, offering his hand to the newcomer and glancing over at the other boil curiously. He looked a bit... jumpy. "Were you on the train, too?"

He kept glancing over at the counter, though, his eyes running over the various specials up for sale with blatant speculation. He planned on trying all of them, but he might not be able to do it in one sitting. Maybe one day, sure, but then he wouldn't get the chance to see the other places, as well!

Never one for a quiet entrance, Dominic burst the the cafeteria doors. No, he couldn't have just quietly opened them, he needed the grandeur that only bursting could provide! He was like one of those alien things, bursting forth from the underbelly of the school into... The spotlight of the cafeteria? That didn't seem right. Clearly, navigational skills were not the donkey demon's strong point.

"Well, this is awkward," he mused to himself, "I could have sworn those doors led to the auditorium..." He shrugged, as if to say 'oh well, whatever' and spotted a couple boils seated at a table near the food. He ambled his way over to them, big grin plastered on his face.

"Is this where I can grab some grub?" he quipped, then eying the wriggling food, frowned disdainfully. "I see they mean 'grub' quite literally.."

"Yeah. Zombie cows," Nahm said disgustedly. "Fearplanes, interweb, cranial implants, and in this day and age they have to stop a train for zombie cows." He accepted the proffered handshake, his grip firm. "Roch, huh? I'm Nahm." He eyed Roch with some curiosity. "Undead, reaper, or funky-a** monster?" he inquired.

"Rather have grub than non-grub," he replied to the donkey-eared boil who'd made an - er - dramatic entrance. "They're pretty good. Especially with a little spicy mayo." Mmmm. Now he really was hungry, not that he hadn't been before.

"I'm thinkin' your a monster, but I'm not sure. Oh, you mean me? I'm a reaper. I'd show you my scythe, but I'm a bit... impotent at the moment," Roch drawled, fingering the chain he was wearing. "Oh well, the food smells like it'll be worth it."

He looked at the newcomer, wondering idly if he hadn't made a big enough entrance. "Nice entrance, do you practice?" He held out his hand to Dominic with an easy going smile.

On the tail end of a rather boisterous jackass, Merry sauntered into the cafeteria with a swing in her hips and tooth pick held limply between pale lips. The tip of her tongue prodding at it absently to make the pointed tip flick up and down. To say the flame haired ghoul was bored would be an understatement, she was irritatingly unstimulated. Previous assumptions that this open house would be fun were beginning to wither and die, and Merry wasn't happy about it.

The school of her dreams, filled to bursting with students and hopefuls alike, and there was as of yet nothing going on. Jack all mighty. At the very least the cafeteria was open, and with any luck at all there would be food. If there was not? Well, for the sake of all within the large room there had better be.

Pausing just beyond the double doors, the colorful ghoul propped a hand on one shapely hip and surveyed the room. Macaw wings stretching downward to brush the tips of vibrant feathers along the tiled floor before refolding tightly along her back.

All the while her feather tipped tail swept in short arcs behind her. Twitchy movements reminiscent of an irritated cat.

Right behind the chimera came the also swaying hips of another feathered female. Except this female had a lion's tail swishing behind her and two cat ear's sticking out of her dark hair. Nefertari, a slender muscled sphnix, yawned a bit her fangs glistening in the cafeteria light. Man that train ride had been boring. She hoped this place could offer some excitement. She blinked as the girl infront of her stopped and seemed to survey the area. Yeah it looked like so much was going on.

The girl was obviously athletic as her long legs were firm and her stomach flat as a board. The same could not be said for her chest since all she wore were a pair of short shorts and a mid drift. Around her forehead, glinting in the black locks of her hair, was a golden anhk headband. The feline monster stretched again, a few things popping.

The donkey boy didn't seem all that interesting but this girl certainly did. She looked pretty good and seemed to be the best looking one at the moment. She brushed her lion tail against the feathered tipped one and spoke with a slight accent, "What's a girl got to do to get some excitement around here?"

Dom wrinkled his nose at monster's reply, he definitely preferred his food to not alive when he put it in his mouth. But his appetite had been strange lately, regardless. Leafy greens, they just called to him. Blegh! Scanning the food counter, he was assured that some of the food was indeed dead, and more importantly, not moving.

"I'm sure it's just delightful... And yes, daily, practice makes perfect and all that dreadful junk," he replied to the other boil, taking a seat.

"Hope you don't mind if I join, I'm Dominic but it's much easier to just call me Dom."

He glanced at the two girls who came in after him, and let out a whistle. He was grinning stupidly, who knew if the demon even liked girls? One thing everyone would quickly learn though, was he liked to stir up trouble. And lots of it.

"Yeah, nice to meet you, Dom," Roch said, before following the other boil's eyes and closing his mouth. Two super hot females just walking through the door. Damn, but he hoped they didn't hear his impotent crack.

What did you talk to ghouls about anyway? He had no jackin' clue. He reached up, then let his hand drop, feeling like an idiot. No guitar, remember?

He turned to the lady behind the counter again, wondering if they were gonna get fed anytime soon.

A gentle touch along the tip of her tail pulled the chimera's attention and she had to bite off a soft hiss as red eyes landed on the ghoul beside her and those mixed features. Feline and avian clearly, but nothing else? A rival? No, nothing of the sort. It was perhaps delayed a second or two, but at last she smiled to the sphinx. A toothy grin that showed pearly incisors to to perfection. "That's a very good question."

The singsong waver of a whistle sounded, and she turned automatically towards the sound and it's origin. The Jackass, she should have known. Her grin never wavered as she regarded him, admiring those long ears before falling to linger on his face. Perhaps there was a little fun to be had here after all. She chirped at him, lips pursing, then chuckled before crossing the room to join him along with the other boys. Taking a seat on the table top and crossing long legs one over the other. Glancing briefly at the other ghoul near the door, curious if she'd follow, before turning back to the others.

While one hand wandered back to spread along the table for balance, the other was offered out to the boys, each in turn. "I'm Chimera, though Merry works just as well."

The reaper specifically recieved a rather appraising sort of look, a single brow arching as she lingered on the numerous metallic studs decorating his face. "I like your hardware. You got anymore hidden away?" Perhaps she'd noted his unease, or perhaps she was simply flirting, regardless, her voice had dipped into something close to sultry.

The sphnix grinned as the other ghoul appraised her. She did the same, similiar thoughts running through her head. Girl wasn't a rival and looked like she wanted some fun too. DIdn't look half bad either.

The whistle made her feline ear twitch and she glanced to the donkey boy who had made it. Hmm, interesting. Donkeys had a tough texture, at least the last few she had eaten. The human looking male, must be a reaper, did not so much please her. She didn't care for magic unless it was undead magic. At least mummies had cool spells.

The look in the girl's eyes suggested a game and Tari wanted to play. She followed the girl, swaying her way over and sat next to her on the table. She did not cross her legs but them the stretch out long to an empty seat. "And I'm Nefertari, but Tari I prefer," her r's were purred out by the feline female.

She grinned as the girl asked her questions, fangs sparkling as she glanced at the reaper. Interesting thought, her eyes gave him a once over.

"Pleasure's all mine.. Uh..." he trailed off, realizing the other hadn't given his name. Not that Dom really gave him a chance to, he'd sort of changed subjects rather quickly.

He laughed a little at the chimera's reaction, glad she'd seen the humor in it. Impishly he loved tricks but he wasn't feeling particularly offensive today. He took her outstretched hand, shaking it enthusiastically. "Well now Merry, aren't you just vibrant?" he chimed smoothly. He nodded a hello to the other ghoul, sensing a predatory air about her. He hoped he wouldn't have to remind her that he was not, in fact, on the lunch menu.

He then proceeded to glance between Merry and... the other guy, that stupid grin still on his face. He never really found it difficult to talk to ghouls, or anyone for that matter. Dom wondered how the reaper might react.
