CAT TO A GOOD HOME

This contest is for the Guardian Cat of the Zodiac Court -- Zue. As a civilian, he is known as Sue Gottschalk. His former player is no longer able to be active with him, and so the GM team is ready to send this cat to a good home. But first, we have a few rules!

Rules for Eligibility

[01] Zue is a crucial part of the Zodiac Court, and all Zodiacs are also meta characters. This means that this character is RP-required, as defined below:

All Zodiac characters must be active in at least one RP thread a month, contributing at minimum one thousand words. This is the minimum requirement. We expect more activity than this, but this is the bottom line for what you will need to do in order to be considered an active Zodiac player. If you know that you will be on vacation or particularly strained for time during a certain month, you will need to PM the GMs and let us know ahead of time.

Failure to adhere to these standards will result in a loss of ownership!

[02] You may not apply if you already own another Zodiac.

[03] You may not apply if you already own another Guardian Cat.

[04] Winner will be expected to have a working knowledge of the Zodiac Court, Barren Pines, and the general shop storyline.

[05] Winner will be expected to plot with the rest of the Zodiac Court regularly and be an active participant in the faction, as opposed to simply being active in the shop on the whole.

The Zodiacs at a Glance

In the past… the Zodiacs were one of the strongest lines of defense protecting the Sol System containing the nine planets and their populations from outside Chaos forces. Originally born on constellations in the Outer Reaches, the Zodiacs were forced to move to the Sol System with their civilizations in tow in order to avoid destruction by Chaos. The Court of the Silver Millennium made an alliance with the Zodiac Court. In exchange for mutual protection, the Zodiacs were responsible for creating and maintaining an energy barrier known as the Surrounding around the Sol System. The members of the Zodiac Court lived in floating castles that patrolled the border between the nine planets and the rest of the Milky Way Galaxy. This unique job put them in seclusion at times, making them very close knit with each other but somewhat distant from Serenity and her Court.

In the present… the Zodiacs are trying to put together the pieces of their lost purpose. Prince Eon sacrificed his starseed to the Space Cauldron permanently to allow the Zodiacs a chance to be quickly reborn on Earth to help the senshi of Destiny City stand up to Chaos. This rebirth came during Barren Pines, a false school that was created by the Negaverse to experiment with high-functioning youma. An unforeseen side effect of this was the return of Princess Chronos and her Zodiac Court. Not long after they were reunited, the Zodiac Court experienced another tragedy. One of their own, Sailor Sagittarius, was killed by a Negaverse agent. Then Wiseman and Black Lady rose up and stole the Opal Crystal from Princess Chronos. During the events of Tartaros, more tragedy: Sailor Aries, the Captain of the Zodiacs, was killed in a battle with a youma. For a time, the Zodiacs were lost, but recently, Princess Chronos was able to recover her Opal Crystal while in Elysion.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:
I couldn’t participate in Barren Pines and so have watched the court start and read many of the RPs! I love how tight knit the court is suppose to be and how Chronos is such a gentle princess. I also loved reading Zue’s RPs and his grumpy attitude yet how caring he is towards his princess. I have always enjoyed reading the zodiac stuff and was rather upset when so many of them died (and then rose!). I also love reading the Gemini’s RPs! I just find all the characters to be so interesting and in all honesty I was somewhat jealous that I never got the chance to acquire one of the characters and be part of a group that turned out to be just plain awesome.

I would love to be part of the court to get all those chances to plot with them and to get a chance to enjoy another faction in the shop. I just love the zodiacs, as I know a lot of people do. I suck at finding words to explain stuff but I adore the zodiacs and would just love to be a part of them.

Writing Sample: It had been words that Elke had said that changed how he acted, that and he really had enough of the motel he had been living in. He spent a lot of his ‘free’ time as Zue, a big fluffy purple cat hoping that he could connect more with this guardian he was suppose to be. Was he any nicer to the zodiacs? Not a chance but he was trying. The words Elke has said to him had hit home and that was something he was having to live with.

He had decided the cheap way of living would be to spend time as Zue and take turns sleeping at the different zodiac’s houses. This was partly due to ‘over-seeing training’ and partially down to the fact that he was able to keep an eye on them. He would go out with Serenade, in fact he would only patrol with her and that was because he wasn’t sure he could deal with fighting with the others. He was their guardian but sometimes he just felt like Sue as if the Zue part of him was somewhere a million miles away but yet constantly there.

The night’s air was quite fresh, which was always good when walking around with as much fur on as he had! Cat form at night unless he got bored, he would then be human and probably found in an alley talking to the stray cats. Cats he could understand, the zodiacs not so much and it irritated him. However he found he was enjoying being a cat at night, the freedom to explore and attack anyway who tried to be nice at you. A hiss and waving claws about helped relieve the anger sometimes.

He had attempted tree climbing today. He was soon regretting it after finding himself rather stuck. He was too big a cat to be climbing trees but he was there now and he had to find a way down! It was in an attempt to move that he caught the sense of something unusual; something that didn’t seem quite right. His tail twitched behind him as he looked up and sniffed, trying to take in whatever it was that he could sense.

Something was coming. Damn it. Now he had to get out of this tree! He sat on his branch complaining to himself about the fact that he had managed to get himself stuck in a tree. After all what stupid cat would get themselves stuck in a tree. It was a time like this he should probably call Serenade; she would come get him without making fun of him! Ah pride! Oh he hoped none of the other court members appeared.

Did he stay in the tree for a long time knowing that something bad was heading to Earth? Of course he did. He thought of transforming back into a human but what if someone saw? What if a nega saw? He even tried mewing sadly when someone did eventually walk past but they shouted at him to shut up. Oh how he disliked people! That person had even tempted him to jump out and claw their face but he wasn’t sure that would be seen as ‘trying hard’ when it came to helping the court. Then again sitting in a tree was trying real hard.

He did eventually find a way out of the tree that involved jumping but turned into a fall and a rolling fat cat. He grumbled as he found his paws, something about how cats were suppose to always land on their feet! So much for that! He then felt the need to wash his feet, at least until it dawned on him that he was licking his feet and that wasn’t right either.

Eventually he decided to be a good guardian cat and head back towards Serenade, his current home. She could call the others but this was strictly zodiac business, he wasn’t having any of those lunars involved! He didn’t care what the court thought he wasn’t trusting, not at all. At least they had more of the hands about now; he could boss them about as well.

Trotting back to Serenade seemed to take longer then he expected, he wasn’t about to go running now that would be silly. Climbing back through her window was also fun… not. Jumping on top of her to wake her up though was rather amusing. Yes he liked being a cat in that sense, waking people up in the most interesting of ways.

Anyway he was waking her up for a reason.

“Call the others, we have an issue I will explain once we meet… erm in the park.” He rubbed against her face and then attempted to jump back out the window. He would use his awesome tree climbing ability to talk to them from higher up! They can’t go looking down on him if he is above them! He would moan of course and they would but this would be zodiac business to prove the court isn’t weak. After all it seemed to best place to find danger now seemed to be in a tree so it was clearly the best place to explain it all from. He wouldn’t plan what they would do though, nope that was left to them. He informed and would tell them if they were being stupid but he wasn’t in the planning that way he couldn’t get blamed if it all went wrong and he could do the blaming.

Average Time Spent on Gaia Weekly: A lot. Let's say 6 hours a day, on average ? If I am not on gaia yet not at work/asleep I am usually reachable in some way, be it on aim or though my phone aim.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?: I've always loved the idea of courts ever since getting involved in ItnotM, especially the zodiacs themselves. I quickly found myself trying to figure out as much information as possible about them, and found myself back reading on the barren pines event... and was quite sad that I hadn't gotten into the shop sooner, and thus hadn't been able to take part of it. I just adore the whole theme of the zodiacs – holding the line, protecting the solar system from invading chaos creatures, all those rich and deep connections they hold to each other. I've always wanted to be part of it, in some way – and now that I see a chance, I can't help but go for it.

Please don't let my number of characters scare you off without another glance – I am more than capable to play all of them plus Zue. I plan to be as active as possible with him, and do much more than simply scrape by the rp requirements. I am always more than happy to work with anyone regarding their plots, and I believe being Zue's player would allow me to do exactly that for the zodiacs. I am willing to work with anyone, but especially with all of the other zodiac players, in whichever way that Zue can be useful to the team as a whole.

I also understand that if I do win Zue, I will probably be unable to ever get my guardian cat quest, or my chronos knight idea. I am perfectly fine with this.

Writing Sample: It had been much too long, Zue knew. Too long since he had been around for his princess, been around for his soldiers. In a sense, he hadn't ever really been there at all with the zodiacs, hadn't he ? The last real memory he had from before he woke up was Elke confronting him and... Now, he realized she was right. He hadn't been there for them. Not then, and not until now. In his absence, two had fallen. Two blips were missing on his mental map, on the sense he used to know where the zodiacs were, no matter their state. including Aries herself – and that was inexcusable. Surely, had he been around, perhaps...

It was too late for perhaps. Two had died in his absence – it was two too many. And Aries, of all of them... The only thing he could do was to return and hope that that Chronos would forgive him. The feeling that he had failed her, above all, and in such a drastic way, was the worst thing he had ever felt. The accident had taken one year out of his life, but now that he was out of the hospital, he was ready to return, and do everything he could to make up for it.

Could Zue truly get along with every one of them ? That was probably impossible. But he would try. He would at least do the effort to be there, this time around. And it started now.

Sue Gottschalk would have had a hard time slipping into Crystal Academy, even if it wasn't night time as it was now. Zue, on the other hand, was much harder to notice – who paid attention to a cat, after all ? As much as he loved cats, turning into one was still slightly awkward, especially after so long. Climbing the tree had taken some work, and from there he was able to leap on the fence, balancing himself to reach the side of the building. Serenade was still here, he could feel her inside, through... hadn't she and Elke... ? Yes, they'd roomed together, but now Virgo registered somewhere else. He'd take the company of any of them, after so long. Hell, he'd even put up with Gemini Alpha. Zue couldn't help but huff mentally at that thought. Was he really that desperate ? ...Yes, yes he was.

But the princess first. Always the princess first. Chronos came before everything else, before any of his wants and needs. It had always been that way, though he still couldn't remember much of the past – but deep inside himself, he knew it. He was following the signal when, suddenly, something... felt off. Something felt wrong, and the cat stopped, doing a vain attempt to smooth his fur back.

Something... was wrong, and it was only when he looked up to the sky that he realized what. The good thing with being a cat was the night vision – he might have missed it otherwise, the large shape that was descending upon Destiny City. The hell was that ?

Sue had never seen anything quite like this. But Zue... Zue had, and when the realization hit, his blood ran cold. These were the type of chaos strains they fought at the surrounding.

But how in hell has this gotten here ?! It shouldn't... It couldn't... Damn ! It made all too much sense – last he knew, none of the zodiacs had a way to return to the surrounding. And the opal crystal... Was it still stolen ? It his fears was true, and that the line had broken... They were in more trouble than he even wanted to think about. Sure, most human beings pissed him off – he rather preferred cats to humans, how ironic to think about after realizing who he was – but that didn't mean they all deserved to die. The white moon senshi likely had no idea how to fight chaos creatures like these. It would fall onto the zodiacs. What was left of the zodiacs. Had Aries been around, he would likely have went right to Hero. She'd always been the one he'd trusted the most – but now Aries was gone. Hero was gone. Taurus, perhaps, would be the best idea. But he was so close to the princess now...

Finally, Zue willed himself into action – leaped off the fence and onto a window ledge, and he stopped in front of a very specific one, and peered within. He already knew this, but Serenade was indeed inside. She would know best who to contact, wouldn't she ?

He tapped a paw against the window, hoping to get her attention. There was no time to waste. No more time to think about what should have been done, and what would need to be done.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?: I have been wanting to join ItNotM for a while, but I have wanted to devote all my time to one main character and a side character in this shop. I love the Zodiacs and have always loved the lore behind the actual constellations. Not to mention. lets be honest I have always wanted to play a guardian cat! I also believe that with him being my first character if I win, I would be able to devote vast amounts of time to him.

    Writing Sample
Sue followed silently behind a rather white long haired male cat; he had been notified his help was extremely necessary at this point as two lives were dwindling on the line. As always the teenage boy had put the trouble of cats before his own classes, and grades, to follow along behind the male cat quietly. They passed several rows of houses before the cat he was following silently stopped/ Soft barely audible mewls of hunger were coming from the bush to his left. Wasting no time Sue bent over, scooping up the two kittens into his arms. He scowled when his ears picked up familiar voices on the other side of the fence. He hated these voices more than he hated any of the others, they belonged to the Negeverse.

Listening closely as he hid behind the bush for security, Sue overheard the conversation these hated voices were having. It was about something drawing closer to the earth at a rapid rate, he had sensed the advances a while ago however the way they spoke made it seem the terror was much closer. Making a clicking sound of annoyance with his tongue, Sue headed back towards the hotel where he kept most of his things. He would need to contact the remaining Zodiacs - no, scratch that, he would just find Serenade and warn her . He had been correct in assuming something was coming and the Zodiacs would have to continue training despite the calm atmosphere. However, no thanks to Elke who had insisted the Senshi take a break, they just might not stand a chance against this new threat. They ad already lost a couple Zodiac members already and he couldn't bear to loose anymore.

Rethinking his plan the young boy changed course. He would head straight for Serenade's place and waste no time in warning her. The only downside was he didn't have any materials stored there for taking care of the two kittens in his arms, AND she was still in school for at least another hour. No matter, she should have some milk in the fridge and a spoon at the very least. Thankfully her home was much closer than his hotel room. and he could recover some time to form a strategy of attack and be able to care for the kitte4ns before Serenade returned from school.

Sue arrived at Serenade's house quickly, and tested the door. He was locked out! Cursing under his breath, he made a mental note to ask the princess to give him a key. Carefully placing the two infants on the ground, Zue shifted form from his favorite human to the shape of a bulky purple cat. His blue eyes narrowed at the thick tree beside the front door, conveniently close to an open window. Scooping one of the kittens up into his mouth, Zue clambered up the tree to the open window. He placed the kitten down gently into the room before scrambling back down to scoop up the second kitten. He was panting when he got back tot he open window. Sliding easily into the room, Zue shifted into his half human, half cat form so he could feed the kittens.

Zue rummaged through the fridge and cupboards and managed to find milk and a spoon. He settled down with the mewing, hungry kittens and was in the middle of feeding them when he realized he forgotten his book bag outside. The kittens' eyes were drooping when he finally heaved himself up to open the front door and scoop the bag up. He would need these to keep up with his studies as a student, not to mention they made wonderful projectile object's to keep the Senshi alert to what he was saying.

He was sitting in Serenade's kitchen, still in his half human form when she walked in. Unfortunately she had brought a friend home with her, Unsure of who the other person was, Zue was grateful there was a least a wall to buffer the sight from the uncalled for friend. To make things easier for Serenade, Zue morphed back into his cat form. When Serenade would come around the corner he would be there to greet her like any normal house cat would. Arranging the kittens around him Zue began the mother like cleaning of the two infant kittens, daring anyone other than Serenade to touch them.

Average Time Spent on Gaia Weekly: A lot. If I had to guess, I'd say around 20 hours.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?: I have always loved the concept of the Zodiacs, and have been interested in their stories. ICly they are an engaging, important, and fascinating group which I would love to be a part of. Their faction is detailed and makes one curious about what exactly they're like and draws people in to their stories, myself included. OOCly, while I don't have a character already, I am someone who does not just grab one and go. I have been repeatedly trying in events for quite a long time, and I understand that my not posting consistently in the main thread might hinder my chances. But despite that, and although I might need just a little guidance at the beginning, I can guarantee that I am someone who would be dedicated and active.

    Writing Sample:

He couldn't believe that he had been woken up. For this.

"Is there a reason why you're stepping on my tail?"

It was mostly thought, rather than spoken aloud, though the cat that was pressing one clawed paw down onto his fur merely gave him a placating look. It let out a sharp meow, and Zue hissed in reply, fur bristling. His attempt to nap not withstanding, it seemed as if the feline was attempting to talk to him.

Not that he particularly cared what he - she - it (whatever it was) had to say. In fact, all Zue wanted was to close his eyes and go back to the pleasantries of sleep. Instead he was curled up at the base of an old oak tree talking to a stray.

"Go away," he said, and lifted his head, tilting it forward as if gesturing for the other to walk in that direction. The "please" he probably should have said did not even come to mind. With an unhappy growl, Zue laid his head back down onto his paws, closing his eyes.

    Floomp.

One pale blue eye cracked open. "Kindly get your paw off of my ears," came the irritated voice, Zue scowling (as best as a cat could scowl) up at the beast. It was not a common household cat; or if it had been, it hadn't been one in a very long time. The speech it was using was stuttered, mixing the dialects of tame versus wild.

It was giving him a headache. "Go away," he said again, and buried his nose under his leg. The paw, unfortunately, did not move. Instead the cat seemed to be batting at one of his ears, which flicked in annoyance. With a snort and a snap of his jaws, Zue finally shot to his feet, glaring daggers at the offending creature.

    "WHAT?" he said loudly.

    ...some...something...something's...diff-different...

Zue tilted his head, a mixture of curiosity and exasperation conflicting his emotions. One one hand, he was still greatly bothered about the fact that he had been jerked out a rather pleasant catnap in order to play twenty questions with a cat who probably had no idea who he was and was just looking for another playmate. On another hand, there was a tingling sensation in the air that made Zue restless; and he was not the only one. Around him he could feel the stiffness of the world around him; the confused apprehension of something different. Ordinary cats - like the stray - were just reacting to the shift of the air, like they often did during severe weather changes, but even Zue couldn't deny that something was off.

...as much as he wanted to just curl up and go back to sleep. Except now his nerves were on edge, and so, with a sigh, Zue nudged the cat away from him, moving forward. It only took a few steps before it was human feet, not cat feet, that broke the twigs, crushed the dry, cracked leaves undertow, and Sue ran a hand through his hair, his eyes moving up to the sky.

    Something's different.

Standing out in the open, face turned towards the sky, Sue could feel it more tangibly now: a sort of sharp electricity that made his blood heat, his veins thrumming with what might have been mistaken for mere static electricity. Except Zue - not Sue, but Zue - knew that it wasn't.

Something's coming. And it's heading straight for earth.

Princess Chronos. It was his first thought, his only thought, other than the inevitable oh s**t, time to move. For a brief moment, Sue thought about going to warn the others, but another scowl rapidly overtook his features. To hell with the rest of the Zodiac; they were perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, and perfectly capable of handling what was necessary. They had been taught well, hadn't they? He had to grudgingly admit that they were all very intelligent - not that he would ever say that to their faces and would very likely deny it if ever asked. The princess, on the other hand...she needed him, didn't she? She, the most intelligent of them all, relied on him to be what he was - a guardian cat.

With an irritated growl, Sue leapt forward, shifting back into cat form and bounding across the park grounds. The sun was rapidly lowering in the sky, streaking the blue with smears of orange, red, and a mixture of violets and purples. He did not know how much time they had; an hour at best, perhaps even two if they were fortunate enough, but he was not about to waste any time dawdling about. It took him mere moments to reach Serenade's room, slipping in through the half open window and padding along until he found her - his princess.

"We have a problem." And unfortunately it isn't just about my nap being interrupted.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:
    Not much to say.
I watched BP from the start; it was the event that got me interested in the shop. Not only was it BP but it was watching the reveals of the Zodiacs and flailing about with people in the AIM chat as it happened. I’ve always loved the Zodiacs and the plots around them. Even when the first few Zodiacs would wander away or be killed I’d hoped that they would be reborn again so others could have a shot and the whole group would be back together. I have a lot of respect for those who won the Zodiac’s and I’d love to be a part of RP with them.

I love hearing from Mel about ideas she has for the Zodiac, and to finally have one and be able to play a part of those ideas would be something really awesome.

Writing Sample: No more than 1000 words.

PROMPT: A new threat has been detected in the vast reaches of space, and it's rapidly heading straight for Earth! WHAT DO YOU DO?

The dread of Sue’s life had grown to be a phone.

After the incident with the dragon Nega beast in the warehouse district it wouldn’t stop ringing, mostly it was Elke scolding him for not doing his job, not gathering the Zodiacs to defend against something more powerful than the other Senshi could deal with. If it wasn’t Elke nagging him it was Andeon giving him the same grief. At least with the later though he could pick up and yell at the worst part of the Gemini twins. Or at least he used too; till Elke started using Andeon’s phone to make calls to complain about the number of meetings he was missing lately.

“Well how is it my fault you couldn’t be bothered to look out a damn window and see the thing? Am I some bat signal for you all now? NO! I’m not going to run around the city letting you all know when every little thing could be going wrong. Do it yourself go on those patrols of yours! And stop using Andeon’s phone dammit!” Slamming his phone down again he fell over onto his bed staring at the ceiling. Today it was Elke, tomorrow it would be Grayson asking if he would stay with them for a bit, to just talk to Elke when she came over. Sometime’s it would by Yahya, but lately he had stopped calling altogether and probably for the better after everything that happened with Barren Pines

Two years had passed since awakening during Barren Pines and he still hadn’t taken to his role as Zue the Guardian cat properly to heart. It was something that part of him couldn’t live down. He wasn’t like the others; he couldn’t actually go out and FIGHT he was a damn cat, a cat who didn’t even know what he was doing half the time. He had assumed he was done when he found them all in the schools rumble, along with the first hand maiden. Sure he might have made a pen or two appear, tracked down one of the Zodiacs when someone needed help, but at the end of the day he had been no good in any of the big fights. Most of the time he kept well out of the way, as a cat or simply not arriving at all, the only advantage lately was being able to slink about as a cat on a whim. So with that in mind he shifted forms. Screw the phone; screw the nagging of the others he needed proper time alone.

So now a lone purple cat slinked about the alleys and parks of destiny city. For the most part it was an escape from life, well some of it. The fact was he was now Zue as he wandered. As if maybe wandering around as him would lead to some brilliant conclusion to everything he was dealing with, mostly it just lead to him wandering all day and finally coming back home with nothing to show but tired paws. Today though he would end up wandering by Yahya’s home, the last time he saw him he had cut ties completely to the other boy in a fit of anger. (He was still banned from that theater for that one.) For the longest time he stared at that house recalling how much trouble he brought to Yahya all over a ‘lost cat’. It was because of what he had become. This purple furred beacon of trouble, something no teen would honestly ask for. He continued to stare mind wandering. Why was he here? Why did he have the power he did? This and more crossed his mind as minutes turned to an hour. Still nothing seemed to come to him but a small twitch of pain in his back so he shifted once again to continue watching as he wondered about everything. He wasn’t out doing good he was a glorified mascot brought about for good show it seemed lately.

At first it crept into his mind as nothing more than a foul mood. His feelings of irritation towards being bothered so often, the idea of being a mascot, a failure overall caused him to let out a low growl, but it was more than that, it wasn’t actually a foul mood, it was something deeper, it was darkness. Oozing towards earth, towards all of them, he almost didn’t realize what it was, masked as his most bitter thoughts. Suddenly it was clear, something was coming. Not only that but this was why he bothered to still do this. Whatever this was, that was coming towards all of them. If no one did anything Yahya wouldn’t have a normal life, Elke couldn’t bother him, Andeon couldn’t be a d**k. They would all be ******** tail from Yahya’s house he started towards Serenade, she was at school as usual, no classes today either thankfully so she should just be in her room as usual. So maybe Elke was right, he was the beacon to call them when darkness was coming. At least this time he would be.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:
Well, once upon a time, I stumbled upon this awesome shop called In the Name of the Moon, and completely fell in love with the concept, the art, everything! I tried out for a Barren Pines Student, though it would seem that I truly didn’t yet know how to make a strong, character. I closely watched the BP plot and of course, drooled at the beautiful new Zodiac Senshi, silently wishing all of the new players all the luck in the world.
The Zodiacs have kept my attention, not just because of their fabulous outfits, (Though that is a plus), but the why they are so close knit.
I really think that that sense of family is completely amazing, and it would be an honor to be the pet cat!

The sun was shining, the birds were singing, there were a few white clouds speckling the sky. All and all it was the perfect day for a nap, and Sue knew just where he was going to nap. Under that big oak tree near the school. Yeah. It was going to be perfect.

Sue yawned, rubbing at his eyes; the heat of the spring day was putting him to sleep. Well, that was good. Nap time. He walked to the school, then ducked behind a bush, after checking to make sure nobody was looking. He shifted into his cat form, stretching to his full length, paws digging small grooves into the ground. He let out a satisfied purr, and then made his way over to the small patch of shade right under the tree. When he got himself comfortable, his long tail curled around his body, Zue then yawned and closed his bright blue eyes. This was going to be without a doubt, the best nap ever.

It was a few minutes later, perhaps he had gotten to sleep though perhaps not, when the cat’s eyes snapped open and he jumped to his feet, hissing at something. It was a feeling, a feeling of absolute and utter wrongness that had him completely unable to sleep. The fur along his back was all standing on end and Zue looked around, still hissing slightly. He finally looked up upon realizing where the feeling was coming from and blinked, the hair beginning to lie back down.

There was a kitten stuck in the tree, looking scared to death.

That was it? That was the cause of the feeling? The wrongness that woke him up from his delightful afternoon of relaxation? He gave a small meow, his tail twitching, then proceeded to climb the tree, moving to the branch where the little white kitten stood, trembling in fear.

With soft meows, Zue coaxed the kitten closer, and then picked it up gently, running back down the tree. He deposited the small creature on the ground then nuzzled it, telling it to run on home. He watched for a few moments as the kitten ran. It looked back once, giving a meow of thanks, then disappeared out of the large cat’s line of sight.

Zue’s tail twitched at this and had he been in his human form, he would have been smiling. There. Now that the trouble was stopped, all thanks to Zue, he could go back to enjoying his lazy spring day in peace. The cat trotted back to his spot under the tree, and no sooner had he gotten comfortable again then the hair on his back stood on end once more, a screeching hiss rising in his throat. A moment later Zue was on his feet, tail in the air, back arched, looking at the sky.

What the hell was going on? The sky was clear, a light blue, not a dark cloud in sight. What could be giving the guardian cat such a bad feeling? Again Zue’s sharp blue eyes scanned the sky and horizon, searching for something—Wait.

There was something brewing. A dark cloud, blacker than any cloud that Zue had ever seen before. It was huge as well. A single cloud that took up the entire sky? That was impossible, right? Completely--

The cloud took shape into a dark sinister looking creature, tornados erupted from its hands, beginning to suck up buildings, trees, plants, people. The shrill sound of screams could be heard.

The cat stared, completely horrorstruck. He could feel as the people died, feel the lights of the starseeds as one by one they were snuffed out, crushed and collected by the black cloud…monster…thing. Though, what was worse, each of the starseeds that were destroyed belonged to unawakened Senshi. That…thing was a destruction machine.

Sure, the senshi of the white moon…No!

He felt the light of the Zodiac Senshi winking out as well. But…how could that be?

Of course…Zue hadn’t been the best Guardian Cat of late. He hadn’t seen the Zodiacs in a while. A sudden rush of guilt overcame him and he could do nothing but let his tail drop.

He could do nothing but silently mourn until his whole body was wracked with pain.

He felt his Princess’s light go out. Sue let out a wailing screech of pure agony. Why hadn’t he been a better guardian? What…what sort of…He was just standing there…

    Chronos was gone
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sue Gottschalk woke with a cry, sitting up, doubled over seemingly in pain. His breathing was heavy and it took a few moments until he was able to look around, though, when he did, he was relieved to find that he was in his dingy motel room still, Chronos wasn’t dead, and neither were any of the other Senshi. It had all been a very ******** up dream.
Something was still…off though. The hair on the back of his neck were standing on end. The same feeling of wrongness was there, just like in his dream.

He would protect his Princess and his Zodiacs. He would be a better Guardian this time.

With that thought, Sue got out of his bed, and ran as fast as he could towards Serenade’s house, not even bothering to realize he had forgotten his shoes.

When he reached the house, he was out of breath, and pounded on her window, waiting for her to open it, needing to warn her about his premonition. Something was coming to the earth, and Zue, Guardian Cat of the Zodiacs, would make sure that they were ready to face it.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:

The Senshi Faction has always been rather scrambled compared to the Negaverse so the idea that there was a faction within the Senshi that worked as a team always seemed like something I would have liked to pursue and be a part of. I have always loved the Zodiac Soldiers, even taking part in the rehoming competition of Sailor Libra back in April of last year. I didn't win, but I enjoyed taking part and continuing to read the stories and plot that fell on the Zodiacs. Unfortunately it was around the same time that the shop went through some transitions and the already dwindling Zodiacs began to falter as rosemilk left the shop, taking Captain Aries with her. It was saddening, the Zodiac Guard meant to protect the Solar System from Chaos becoming torn apart one by one.

I highly enjoy their past life and their role in the Solar System as the unseen protectors who perpetually guard the solar system from Chaos. I would love to help bring it back together as the grumpy, purple ringleader in Princess Chronos' heart, helping Zue and the Zodiacs struggle forward away from all of the expectations of their past allowing them to grow as they are now and into the singular force of the Zodiac Guard. Their doublestar insignia bonding them all together throughout time regardless of their relationships, good and bad. I like the fact that while they may not always get along, they can still rally for one cause.

PROMPT: A new threat has been detected in the vast reaches of space, and it's rapidly heading straight for Earth! WHAT DO YOU DO?

Before he even had a chance to contemplate the incoming Chaos and the battle the Zodiacs were facing, there was a buzzing noise flooding the room and with it a fuzzy purple paw jerking forward to rub against his face as his blue eyes shot open. <********>, he thought as he realized that not only was he seeing the room from a different perspective but that the buzzing noise was beginning to drive his delicate cat ears insane. It was that damn phone of his and it wouldn't stop ringing. Just who in their right mind called at -- his eyes swiftly searched for the clock by the bedside, nearly hissing at the time: 6:34 -- half past six in the morning?

Did you know just how hard it was to stop a phone from ringing as a cat? Not only a cat, but a cat who had spent the entirety of his life as a human? He fumbled and pounced at the phone, direly trying to grasp it between his paws to answer it, to stop the Goddamn ringing. He would have thrown it across the room if he had thumbs and elbows. Like a mouse in his trap the phone was pinned under his paws, buzzing irritably until he pushed his paw down onto it. It stopped! Zue unhappily made an attempt to greet them, but there was no answer. Just how rude could someone be to call so early and then not say anything? He hadn't realized that he dropped the call, and upon falling back against the bed in frustration he found himself as Sue again. Why hadn't he done that to start with? Better yet, why was everything still so hard to do as Zue? He sighed, exasperated at himself. He had things to do, and calling back wasn't on the list. If it was that important then it wouldn't be long before the buzzing came back.

He had to figure out what he was going to do. Should he stay, or should he go? Was it really a question, a choice? It was something they have all should be prepared for at any point in time to do, but were they? Was he? He may not have been the brightest star in the sky, but he knew what going meant and he knew what not going meant. Sue Gottschalk was anything but a coward who abandoned the people counting on him. He refused to be like the no good man who named him Sue.

The young man didn't waste time getting dressed but he took care in pinning his amber pin onto his vest. He had barely managed to keep it after Barren Pines, he wasn't about to leave it in the dirty motel. If he came back alive, maybe he would move out of there and find a more suitable place to live. This was a big maybe and it was something he would think more about later. He had one task in mind to start his day off, and that was visiting some old friends.

It was 8:51 now and Sue stopped in a grocery store to pick up some cat food with the remainder of his money. If he didn't, no one else certainly would. He thought this, but he knew somewhere Yahya was his brother in arms. He was not like everyone else, and if Sue wasn't here then maybe his friends would be okay. By this time he had come upon Bumper and Stripers in an alleyway, already telling him all about the kids who dumped water on the two of them yesterday morning. Sue's brows only furrowed as the two went on. He sympathized, and the two cats quickly found their heads against each of his hands.

"For each of you," he said triumphantly as he carefully placed a can by either cats, peeling the lids off for them.

"Eat as much as you want."

They ate and he thought. He didn't know what good a guardian cat that couldn't even make senshi cell phones for his soldiers do, but he knew he was going to keep trying to conquer his own inapt abilities. It was bad enough that he knew, but now his soldiers were noticing. They were confronting him and he had nothing to say. They were growing stronger and the fact was that he wasn't. Although they all might believe it: it wasn't for a lack of trying. He had been trying to fill Zue's shoes. With all his flaws and inaptitude, he had tried to fill the shoes that were his all along.

The weight of the world was quite literally on his shoulder as he spent the morning and then the afternoon with his friends. He didn't have the answers or Zue's wisdom but it would be his job to lead the Zodiacs, to help them be one tactical force, as their guardian. It was a force missing a few pieces now and he knew it would be a time he'd wish Hero, more than Aries, was still around. Someone he knew was competent, someone who had his back.

Your last day on Earth really goes by fast, ending before it even began. He had said his goodbyes, changing into Zue and heading towards the meeting area. He still wasn't sure of his feelings towards Princess Chronos, if they were his own or by Zue's influence. Regardless, while there were a lot of things in this world that Sue just didn't like, there were things he would protect no matter what. The princess was one of them.

He arrived early, waiting patiently for the Zodiac Guard until they all arrived. He looked at Chronos before everyone else.

"It's time," the voice of Zue addressed his soldiers. It lingered with past expectations that were unknown to him. They were high, not just for them but for himself as well. He was more than just a boy named Sue now, he was a cat named Zue too.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:
While the Zodiac Court is fascinating in every aspect, right from the characters themselves and their origins as a tightly-knit group to their present day somewhat unorganized crew, I am not going to lie; Zue is my reason. He has always been one of my favourite guardian cats, and I have a feeling that once Sue figures out how to go about being Zue, everything else will settle into place. I could be wrong of course, but I am absolutely thrilled at the chance to play Zue and be in on something as interesting as the Zodiac Court.

PROMPT: A new threat has been detected in the vast reaches of space, and it's rapidly heading straight for Earth! WHAT DO YOU DO?

Sue had been in his room when he heard the news; something was heading here, and it was heading here fast. Though it was definitely not the time for amusement, but he couldn't help but think how almost funny it was that he was still kept in the loop, considering that he "wasn't" Zue. The thought made his light blue eyes arch in grudging amusement, his gaze fixed unseeing on the wall across from him. Coincidentally, it was that particular thought that kept him from springing to action towards the rest of the Zodiacs.

Once, he had known who he was and what he was. Everything had made sense to him and everything was in its rightful place. The universe just couldn't see fit to let him keep it that way, and before long he didn't know who he was, it wasn't clear what he was and above all he didn't know how to handle it; all these alien feelings, the need to serve and protect without any basis. Under the circumstances he did the best he could to figure out these new instincts and act on them, and indeed this particular instincts were all but screaming at him right now, but deep down the fact remained:

    He was not Zue.

With a heavy sigh, the purple haired teen flopped back on the motel bed, lost in thought as he stared at the cracks in the ceiling that had been awkwardly and temporarily fixed with a quick layer of putty. Despite his best efforts it had been made painfully clear to him, but it also made him realize something else; he was not just 'Sue' anymore, either. Those demanding alien feelings, those suddenly appearing instincts...they were too strong to be nothing, and if there was one thing he was ever sure of, is that they weren't always there. It was amazing that one single letter difference in a name could bring about such open conflict!

Turning his head, the teen stared at himself in the mirror; this was Sue, the boy who had both family and academic priorities. In a moment after sitting up properly, he easily shifted into the large purple maine coon; this was Zue, whose priorities involved guarding the Zodiac Court and protecting their Princess. Two appearances, one existence. The shifting happened again and again; Sue to Zue, Sue to Zue; and then, finally, the shifting stopped, leaving Sue staring at himself in the mirror. It didn't last long; there was one final shift he had to make, no matter how dangerous it was. For a moment, for a single moment, he stared at himself as a half-cat. In the mirror, he looked like Sue and Zue. Not one over the other; one in the same.

Quickly turning back into 'Sue', he pressed his lips together in a thin and unamused line before turning, scrambling to grab what he needed before heading out the door. He wasn't going to back down just because some angry woman knocked him off guard; he wasn't going to cower with his tail between his legs like some common mutt. He was going to march out there, somehow regain their confidence, and he was going to do it his own way; by following his gut instincts. There was more than just the Zodiac Court at stake after all, if he failed here, his Mother and his Aunt (and his Father he supposed, but that wouldn't be too great a loss) would suffer as well. He'd learn the ropes again, he'd help grab the reigns of authority he imagined he once had. He was going to fight with them, and he was going to fight for them.

This was going to work one way or another, because he said so.

Why do you want to be a part of the Zodiac Court, specifically?:

I have been a ghost in this shop for the longest time. I have been slowly getting to know the way things work and how the character system works an operates. I feel it is time now to jump head first into the action. I had read about the Zodiac Court when I had first entered the shop, as the Barren Pines event had just come to a close. The Zodizc Court was actually what brought me into the world of ITNOM 3nodding . I studied the shop closely through them, and I desperately wanted to be a part, but the characters were already taken.

I feel that the reason this faction appeals to me so much is that it is so centralized. All the members have a central purpose, someone who they fight for. They are determined and closely knit, something that I wish more senshi would have. This order expects devotion and I love that. This is especially Zue's case and I feel that I could help him grow to the confident person we all know he is .

PROMPT: A new threat has been detected in the vast reaches of space, and it's rapidly heading straight for Earth! WHAT DO YOU DO?

It was pitch black all around him, giving the sense that he was all alone. But he knew he wasn't . Something was there, something sinister, staring right at him. He turned his tail swinging behind him, trying to locate the source in the blackness. His senses were on high alert scanning for a breath, even a faint twitch in the black.

“Zue.....” He thought he heard something, or was it his imagination?

“Zue....” Nope there it was again. He had heard that voice before somewhere... A long time ago....

Feared gripped him as he realized just who that voice belonged to. Sweat began to bead on his forehead as he started sprinting towards the voice. His breathing became labored as he went on, the air becoming thick and viscous like tar. The presence was growing stronger and his heart started beating faster.

Please let it not be... He cried out silently. There was a faint glow up ahead... How could he have not noticed before? As he got closer it got hotter until the heat engulfing his body was nearly unbearable.

His worst fears were then confirmed. It was her, his princess, in the clutches of something that could not be seen. The glow emanating from his princess was the only thing he could see, the fading glow. He Sprinted towards her.

“Princess!!!” The heat become unbearable and his words felt like liquid fire coming out. He could barely move. He fell to the ground, struggling to move.

The heat started to subside strangely, but he knew what that meant. He looked up to see the girl moving back against her will, being dragged deeper into the abyss. He immediately got up, ignoring the pain in order to save his princess. Sweat now ran down Zue's body in rivers but he ran on anyways. But no matter what, he couldn't catch up.

She wad screaming now, a guttural cry, begging for him to save her. He was slowly falling behind,  unable to keep up with the lightning fast predator. A feeling of dread came upon him so fast it was astounding. They were slowly fading as the dread grew. The last thing Zue heard was a low hiss that he should not have heard but it echoes like a scream in his mind.

    You can't save her.

Sue sat up with a jolt. The dream had been so vivid, so real. He sobbed at the thought. Losing her was like losing his heart. Sue slowly took in his surroundings. He was in his room at the motel, the place he stayed at when not hopping around and staying in his team's houses. He got up with a slight stumble, he still felt the pain of the dream. He made his way to the bathroom, hopping in the shady looking shower. There was mildew on the walls and stains from past guests. He didn't wasn't to know what caused them.

While washing, the details of the dream slowly came back to him. He knew it was definitely a premonition, but of what? Something bad was going to happen, and soon. Judging by the way he was holding Chronos ( he cringed at the thought) it looked like it was huge. It definitely came from some place out of the system, because he would have known what it was. As the water rolled down his form, he tapped into the cosmic network. He could definitely feel an unidentified presence in the system, but it was too far away to properly assess it. He had to wait until it got in range. Sue turned the knob in the shower to off and stepped out. He grabbed a towel from the rack and started drying off. He took extra time making sure he was dry everywhere before stepping out of the bathroom. He went to the window and opened it slightly.

He could sense a few small presences around the back o the motel, they were waiting for him. Time to round up some food before school, Sue thought. He found eating cat food to be heartier before a long day of school. He hastily put on his uniform, pushing all thoughts of that disturbing dream out of his head. It was going to be a good day, even if he had to make it that way. Perhaps he will see Elke, or even better, his princess. There was a warm glow and a light. A middle sized purple cat jumped out the window hope in his eyes, barely masking the dread.
