►Personality: A word that could completely describe Daphne Parker would be "plentiful". Plenty of smiles, plenty of laughter, plenty of warmth. She's the stereotypical grandmother stuffed in the body of a 30 year old. When she's not baking pumpkin pie and banana bread, she's knitting blankets for the homeless or going to her quilting meetings. Daphne is a friend to all she meets, always willing to forgive mistakes, and has never said a curse word once in her life. She takes pride in her little cottage home, keeping it clean and presentable, with an admirable rose garden out front for all to see. But sometimes you might catch a little bit of sadness in her eyes if you look past the smiles and laughs.
► Biography: Daphne was raised in a loving home with loving parents and a loving brother. They were the 'all-American' family, dedicated to one another and always getting along. Sadly, tragedy works in mysterious ways. Her mother and brother were killed in a car accident, and from there on out it was only Daphne and her father. She found herself in the role of housekeeper, cook and caretaker to her grief stricken father. When she was in her 20's he died of a heart attack, and Daphne was left alone with nothing to her name but the family cottage, her car, and her health.
She met a man through social circles at church. His name was Theodore Jenkins, and soon enough they were inseparable. Theo proposed one night at a restaurant, and giddily Daphne accepted. Regrettably the topic of children had never come up before that night, and it wasn't long before Daphne approached Theo about children. Aghast, he told her he would never want to father children. Daphne was heartbroken, and after much thought she gave Theo back his ring. She wanted more out of life.
That brings us to where Daphne is now. She is a nurse, lives comfortably, goes to church at least once a month, knits blankets for the homeless and for the orphanage, cooks because it makes her happy, and dreams of having a family of her own.
