Something I'd like everyone to remember is that this is not a huge role play, it is just a world for others to take the information we've come up with [all the logistical stuff] and make modifications of their own if they wish and create their own role play on it.
The world is a mix of magic and technology with an emphasis on magic. Because of the role of elementals in the creation of the world and as it is a basic form of magic, I think most things should have more of an elemental orientation and development. I'm thinking God's should be something of a second base of power and belief, unlike the usual Dungeons and Dragons rp's which takes a fair amount of influence from the God's. I think that this aspect could set our world apart in a fair extent.
One of the roles of the God's and Demons in the world is that because of the detachment of the God's to this world, Rogue God's flee here and hide among mortals. So a race, culture, or religion may worship an Elder God, but disregard some of the lesser God's who are often times found among them either taking a break from their Godly duties or are fleeing them all together. There would also be either priests or paladins or some holy mortal beings searching for these Rogue God's as well as God's who search for those Rogue God's.
For the Technology aspect of the world, I'm leaning towards a steam punk style with gadgets and small combustibles. Things like guns may exist, but because magic has been around longer and is more effective, they aren't very popular among most of the population; though, they do exist. They use Technology as a major source of power to light towns, provide warm water, in places like bars or taverns or highly public places that would take too much energy to run it completely by magic. Though, augmented magic does exist through Technology which may serve as a type of battery. Technology mostly works on extending magic and providing alternatives for things magic is poor in providing.
The overall feeling of the world should be optimistic with a bright elemental kind of shine, power, and mystery about it. The general feeling is of the moment but always looking to an even brighter future. Or maybe, because of the heavy elemental influence, the world is being overloaded with elements from other planes of existence and the people are beginning to see this which could lead to a change in the world...
This post will change as thing progress, as we get new people, and as new issues or information come to light.

Now that we have a basic focal point and idea for what the world should look and feel like in the end, I feel much better...Thus far in the collaboration, things seem to be going well.
BoredTears has contributed quite a bit in the area of Races. If she wouldn't mind, I'd like to keep her in charge of that....I think, well I know I deleted a forum you had just posed werewolves in and I didn't get to read it. Sorry, it wasn't moving and I thought something else would happen than having it deleted from the forums...
Neotepid, I would like it if you would focus a bit more on culture, magic, or technology which may help a bit with your idea on your guild idea.
I Stalk Waffles, if you are still in on the collaboration, I'd love you to keep working on the lore section.
Metriath, if you are still interested, you can continue with I Stalk Waffles in the Lore section.
x665, if you are still interested as well, you can continue working on weapons and armor or you can join another section.
Diana Yantra, mostly contacts me through emails, and so she will continue to work with me on magic, world theme [honing it on its own and through everything that is created for the world], battle system, and various aspects that I feel need to be altered.
I will be posting new guidelines at the top of each of the sub-forums with guidelines for the general publications in each topic. If you accept the tasks I've asked of you above, please let me know and tell me what you want from me.
Also, I would like each of you to create a post in the In the Know thread with the appropriate information.

Below are some things that were mentioned to me in a thread in the table top gaming section. I think that they are legitimate things to be noted.
I think that he is right about races and building unique cultures first as we can modify races accordingly. I think it will also help in developing a believable world in having a good history and rich culture to each race of people. Click Here to discuss.
And along the lines of nature, I've posted some information in a Nature[general discussion] thread to be looked at and pondered.

It's a double edged sword my friend. It's good for variety, but it can also cause a lot of different ideas to be used, creating a patchwork world instead of a seamless and smooth land. Take it in moderation, and work around the concept of keeping everything as real as possible. Also, conflict could be possible if you let everyone have a say in everything. But if you take control of everything, nobody will be absolutely pleased. It's a fine line to tread, but teamwork pays off well when done right.
I noticed you have some rather solid discussion about races, I would suggest holding off or at least making it a secondary conversation. Think geography, and the world at large. When you get that down, think about the culture of each race before you really build them physically. A race of artistic creatures are less likely to be hulking with large fingers, than have hands capable of dexterous acts.
Also have to work out how magic plays a role in the world. (Also, since you seem interested in an elemental design...) How did the elements create the world? Shall there be waterfalls that flow upward? Do islands float in the sky? Are there fires that burn forever in the world? If the world was created through the elements, then there are likely to be some fantastic shows. Of course, it could be much like our world as well, depending on the type of elementals that exist in your world. A base is best to build on, and think of this, perhaps each race has a connection to a specific element, perhaps simply because of creation, or from some cultural reverence. I am more than willing to input what you need help with, and discuss your ideas to help you flesh them out, just throw them my way, and I'll see what I can do. Talk to others, I'm by no means perfect, I just think a lot about this sort of thing.
