About the Kuniku: Sakura is naturally very sociable. Too much so, perhaps; she tends to be very overly talkative, much to the dismay of others. She seems to simply enjoy talking, even if most of what she has to say is simply rephrasing what was already said - so she often ends up prattling on uselessly. Her rambling may be attributed to her tendency to easily and quickly forget things, especially important ones. As far as anyone can tell, her sociability is probably due to her uncanny inability to pick up on important social cues and conventions. She acts on a whim and without thinking her actions through, often leading her to irritate others without meaning to; afterward, she is usually unable to understand what she did wrong, or why what she did was wrong. On top of all this, or perhaps because of it, she tends to become offended by the slightest, most harmless things by quickly jumping to (often very incorrect) conclusions. She also seems to have massive, unexplainable amounts of energy at all times, so she needs to be constantly doing something to avoid becoming bored. Considering all this, it's no wonder she appears to be the embodiment of naivety. However, she always means well, and is never intentionally unkind.

Name: Kenbu.
Meaning: sword dance.

Home Island: Hokkaido.
Likes: good food, a warm bed, a talented kuniku to spar with.
Dislikes: sore losers.
About the Kuniku: Kenbu is rather quiet and reserved. It's not because he's contemplating some deep issues, or something of that nature. He simply doesn't have anything to say most of the time. Kenbu seems to prefer to express himself physically. He loves to fight, particularly with swords -- that is to say, sticks -- and can easily beat kuniku larger than himself. He greatly values strength above intelligence. He can generally be found practicing his swordplay, either by himself or with others - when he's not wrestling with Pacha, that is.

Name: Kaji.
Meaning: raging flames of destruction.
Gender: male.
Home Island: Shikoku.
Likes: Being the center of attention, praise.
Dislikes: Being bored or ignored.
About the Kuniku: Kaji seems to live for attention. He craves it all of the time and prefers it over more important things, like food and sleep. To him, being an entertainer is the equivalent of those things and gives him the nourishment that real food and sleep cannot provide. He strives to please anyone in his presence however he possibly can, usually with jokes or amusing antics. He can't help it. He loves to see others smile and hear their compliments. However, Kaji's constant need for attention sometimes drives him to do something stupid and reckless, and he - unfortunately - ends up living up to his name.

Name: Arkantii.
Meaning: ???

Home Island: Kyushu.
Likes: exploring, singing, writing songs.
Dislikes: being compared to Kenbu.
About the Kuniku: Arkantii is one of Kenbu's three children with his mate Pacha. While Arkantii is in both stature and markings very similar to Kenbu, personality-wise they couldn't be more different. Kanti prefers to quietly explore or peacefully meditate than to fight with others. He loves his beautiful daughter, and dotes on her as much as he can. As a side note, he absolutely despises the name he was given and wishes it were something more traditional and Japanese, like his sister Chishiki.

About the Kuniku: Sora is the adopted daughter of Arkantii. She loves her entire family and because her colours are so similar to Pacha's and Kenbu's line, she hardly thinks anything of not being actually related to them. She's a sweet, timid young thing who always puts others' needs before her own and is happy to lend a helping paw. She's pretty naive and very trusting, which may one day be her downfall.

Name: Mikoto.
Meaning: prince, royalty.

Home Island: Honshu (Maizoukin).
Likes: being pampered, high-quality food and entertainment.
Dislikes: being yelled at.
About the Kuniku: Mikoto is the eldest son to Gennosuke and Sakura. He is also his father's obvious favorite out of all of his siblings, which he knows quite well. As the favorite, he rarely faces his father's wrath, and this unabated freedom has made him haughty. He is very self-centered, and truly believes himself to be better than most - if not all - other creatures. He is nearly as well-known to the humans of Maizoukin as his father, and because of this, he often receives gifts and pampering wherever he goes. Of course, this simply boots his already-inflated ego.

About the Kuniku: Ensho is one curious kuniku. Ideally, he wants to know everything there is to know about everything. And then some. He is always asking questions, which can get very annoying, very quickly. In general he is a loud and obnoxious kuniku, but he certainly doesn't mean to be. He just doesn't understand that a lot of questions can get on one's nerves - he doesn't see how others aren't always asking questions, like him, unless they know all they want to know already; and since he doesn't, how else will he learn things if not by asking? He has aspirations of one day learning to read and write, and is very optimistic about this, despite the fact that so few kuniku actually ever learn such things. He has even joined a pack solely with the intention of finding someone who can teach him to read/write, although he is also pleased by the other bits of information he picks up during his travels with the members of Shinjitsumi.

Meaning: ocean depths; ashes (kai), village gate (en).
Gender: female.
Home Island: Shikoku.
Likes: swimming, gardening.
Dislikes: loud noises, seeing others in danger.
About the Kuniku: Kaien was once young and in love with a Kuniku from the city. Being an aquatic kuniku, she also loved water - though never as much as she loved her mate. One day she brought Suiren to a large, deep lake in hopes of uniting her two loves, in a way; to teach Sui how to swim and fish. Sui was afraid of the water, but Kai coaxed him to overcome his fears. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worst, and the male drowned. Kaien was heartbroken, needless to say. Since that day, lily pads have begun to grow in the lake. Every year, on the anniversary of Sui's death, Kai visits the lake to pay her respects. Kai firmly believes that Sui was turned into a lily flower (after his namesake) by a god, and placed upon a lily pad to rest for all eternity.

About the Kuniku: Kou's family was repeatedly terrorized by demons, and eventually, he lost his beloved little sister to their careless actions. Since then, he's sworn revenge upon them, and he spends all of his time hunting down oni. He doesn't care what kind of oni it is, or how old it is - he wants to exterminate every last one of them. He knows that hurting others will not bring back his beloved Cho, but at least his pain will ease a little.

About the Kuniku: Fu is a beautiful kuniku, although she is much too humble and shy to ever realize it. She's a quiet, soft-spoken girl who generally has little to say. Fu is very much a follower and works best when someone else is telling her what to do. She's extremely submissive and sometimes accidentally follows orders that were not directed at her. She's well-mannered and polite and is always careful not to offend.

About the Kuniku: Ki is, in a word, loyal. She is eager to please, particularly those in power. It's not out of a thirst for her own power - in fact, she feels more comfortable out of the spotlight, feeling as if she's not cut out for a leadership role. She's simply attracted to power, to be blunt. And Septimus has plenty of it, as the leader of an age-old pack. So she's taken to following him around, happy to do everything and everything he requests of her, and she always puts her best into whatever she does 'for the good of the pack.'
