Whoever left behind the Great Spires of Kralg did a favor to the new inhabitants, although it would cause much turmoil later. Kralg is wetland, broken by some fields and the enormous Spires. The ancient towers are secluded on high platforms with drawbridges allowing access. Inside are dank cobble streets where once markets flourished, complete with quarters and the Upper City for the presumed Nobility due to it's luxurious furnishings. This sparked the conflict.
The first to come here were the herds of Minotaurs, driven from other lands as they were persecuted as cattle. Going where the grass and water was plentiful, they discovered the Spires. After throwing rocks for a day, a lever was hit or chain broken and the city lay there's for the plunder. however over the years they came to call it home, civilizing themselves more than most Minotaurs had ever accomplished, and taking up jobs the city once needed. After years spent bickering and more in planning, the Patriarch of the Minotaur herd formed the Hierarchy, promising fair treatment and equal power amongst them so long as they followed his words. This had been the stupid part.
Beside the Minotaur's, many reptilian creatures have lived in the wetlands much longer, only recently being formed into a workable force by an outside influence. Gathered, they took the other spires, capturing the dragons for use as protection and heavy-lifting. With all this opposition against the Minotaurs of the now called Varok Spire, the one thing standing between being driven out of their home once again were the Trolls. Unhappy with the recent intrusion of Naga's, the upset, monstrously powerful Rough Skin tribe has begun fighting the serpentine intruders, and seem to have a common understanding with the Minotaur, perhaps for the same reason they both came to Kralg.
