So at my highschool I am the next Japan Club President. And I'm kinda having trouble finding some fun things to do other than watch anime. I want this year to be more fun so that not only 3 people show up like last year.

I thought that it would be interesting to learn more about the culture or maybe go visit or have visitors over. I still want to talk to the other Japan clubs around us but I thought that the guild would have come cool ideas too!

Thanks for the help! mrgreen

Go here. You may find something to spark your interest. Although this is a repeat topic, I will allow it to remain open, as active discussion of such things is always encouraged

No need to worry, not a lot of people look past the first page(myself included). It's when people make repeat topics when similar topics are on the same page that I start to get miffed

You could do activities that school clubs in Japan do. I don't know a whole lot m'self, but I did visit for a couple days and was invited to nearly everything. sweatdrop Sadly I didn't have the time for it all, but I saw a lot of stuff. For example, the art and anime/manga clubs made their own booklets and comics. Not a lot of content, and rather inexpensively made, but it looked pretty fun.

I also have a friend who LARP's [live action role play] while a group over their favourite anime and shows. Personally, I prefer jidaigeki over anime, but that's not quite as popular amoung youths... But it's more educational about Japan's history.

you could do Japanese cooking, reading discussion, martial arts, music appreciation, crafts, gaming, language learning... anything... like one day you could do kimono wearing demonstration and another kendo or something... I'd like to start one at my school too!

Something fun that you could do is calligraphy, it could help anyone that isn't already learning the language spark an interest or actually start learning, help some people already learning the language to review and learn new kanji and also best of all is that it can be a nice fun little activity ^_^ I hope this club works out for ya, I sure wish I had a Japan club at my school hehe... we just have the anime club with the screaming fan girls (I still don't know why I continued to go to those meetings... it was so awkward...)

You could find some Japanese dramas to watch if you want to watch something other than anime. :]
