 Beta's are cute little fishies but they can be wild ones. They are commonly known as fighter fish. Males love to compete, mostly for the attention of the females.
These specific Betas are special betas. Buffy found them breeding in a tank in her shop, Buffy's Aquarium Paradise. Upon closer inspection she saw that these betas were abnormally large and colorful. So she decided to take them and sell them seperately.
Male Betas have long, beautiful tails to impress the females. On the other hand, females have short, yet elegant tails which have been adapted to take care of their young better.
(I know this isn't real Betta behavior, but these aren't Bettas! These are Beta!) Buffy bought a clownfish and put it in the tank with the beta. The next day she saw an egg at the bottom of the tank. After it hatched it revealed a Clownfish Beta! A crossbreed between Betas and Clownfish.

~ Do not claim that you made these.
~ If anyone so much as whines, begs, pleads, or otherwise try to keep others from bidding in auctions, You WILL be banned.
~ PMing anyone begging for a Beta WILL get you placed on the blacklist.
~ Do not edit posts during flatsales. One offense will remove you from THAT flatsale. TWICE will have you greylisted. THREE times... Well. Don't do it.
~ Do not spam the thread - You'll miss out on shop events if you do. Excessive emoticons count as spamming.
~ Do not advertise in thread without permission. It will get you greylisted.
~ Do not insinuate that Staff are doing their jobs wrong - each staff member has her own system or way of doing things. Things WILL get done, you will get your beta(s), everyone is happy and there is no greylisting.
~ Please keep your posts mostly coherent - We don't require perfect grammar and spelling but don't want to spend hours deciphering chatspeak posts.
~ Display common sense and respect to EVERYONE.
~ STOP ASKING FOR A JOB HERE; No means NO - We'll contact you if we need additional help.
~ If you have any OTHER questions, ASK IN THE THREAD - Regulars and staff will be happy to help. BUT! Asking repeatedly when slots or bribes, etc. open will annoy the staff and get you greylisted.
~ Beta are not RP-required pets, but feel free to if you want and keep it PG-13 or under please.
~ Save your adults/evolves to your own server/photobucket/image storage - Don't be a leech. Staff will not compensate for lost pets because there is no guarantee they keep the files after they delete them from PB.
~ You cannot sell your beta away after you have bought it.
~ Betas will NEVER be rehomed unless the ORIGINAL owner gives their beta away freely.
~ All auctions of eggs from breedings will be run by the colorist of the breeding.
Rules added as needed. Please don't make edits needed.
1. Flat Sale: When a flat sale is announced there will be a certain amount of male and female eggs sold.
10k per egg custom; 7k per egg semi-custom, 5k per egg pre-made.
2. Auction: If an egg or SE goes up for auction anyone can bid. Gold is prefered but a list acceptable items and their values will be provided before the auction begins. All information will be posted on the auction board.
3. Raffle: Raffle tickets will be 100 gold per ticket. Depending on the colorist's mood, there might be between 1-2 eggs/beta or add ons when certain ticket numbers are reached. All information will be posted on the raffle board.
4. Pet Trades/Bribing/Commissioning: See Below! 
Gnatty-bug: Easy. Gnatty will take a maximum of 3 a month, but no RP-required pets since she rarely leaves Beta HQ. She will not trade common SE betas unless you offer something really impressive/special. If your shop has well done lineart/coloring, you'll probably get a yes. Automatic yes for SoA, Soquili, Cait, Talaye, Sion, Daeka, EoE, WoE, GHS, Feli, Ancients of China, Kitsusagi, Shaoilin, and My Little Gaian Pony trades. Contact Gnatty either in the thread or by PM.
ArynLight: See her Pet Trade info in her Beta Tank (info moving to new work thread soon). You can contact her in the thread or by PM.
Novastrike/cracker: See her Anytime/work thread in the guild for details!

Remember! Bribes are for only a Regular or Clownfish Beta!
When a colorist opens letter bribes, they will supply information about how many slots are available and for what month letters and anything additional you need to know. You can claim a slot when they says go.
Once they has confirmed the slot list, PM the colorist with the information needed.
You have 24 hours from when the colorist confirms your slot to send the trade & information.

1 Sealed Letter --- 1 Custom Beta & 1 Breeding Pair
1 Sealed Letter --- 4 Evolved Regular Betas (You must own the adult versions)

Evolution Center is currently OPEN (keep an eye on the thread)
Beta can evolve to a mermaid-like form. In this form they are able to mate and produce more eggs successfully. They can mate with unevolved betas.
To evolve a beta, send me a pm with the Beta's picture and the title 'Evolving' as well as the trade with the proper amount to the correct Evolver!
Evolving a Reg/Clownfish Beta cost 5k
Evolving a Special Edition Beta cost 10k
If BOTH parents were evolved when they bred, it costs 50% less
If you own an evolved regular beta and want to change the lineart, it will only cost you _k each X3
Evolution offer: If there are no open slots available you can pay for an "anytime evolve." They are x8 the regular prices, but you will get your beta evolved as quickly as possible. See colorist specific anytime threads in the guild for further information and ordering.
Slots: When a colorist announces that she's open for evolves, post in the thread AND PM the colorist to claim it! Please send the info and the trade as soon as she replies that you snagged it.
Slots will now be shown as available IN THE GUILD, so look there to see if there are openings. It pays to be observant, for the Staff are like ninja.

Manager Mau -- Staff Sgt. Manager BuffyNick -- Retired General Meanings: . The General is the head of the guild and have all powers. It is also the mule account, so Gnat and Aryn have access to it. The Lieutenant Generals are the Beta Aquarium Staff basically, and have all the same powers as a General, pretty much. Makes it so we don't have to log into the mule to get things done. . Lt. Col. (Lieutenant Colonel) Moderator are retired staff but are still honored. They have the same powers as the rest of the mods, but deserve much more respect. . Capt. (Captain) Moderators are General Mods, they kinda watch everything going on. . 2nd Lieutenant Moderator is for those that don't show up often, but are still a strong force when they come through and have a good deal power. . Master Sergeants are the Role Play moderators. Enough said. . Staff Sergeants make sure the owner's list is updated and pretty.
