ANNOUNCEMENTS

4/14/07 - Hrm...Lack of updates, Kyai-kun and Tails missing. IT MEANS ONLY ONE THING! Is the store really closing? The decision has not been made, and Kyai-kun has the last word, since she is the owner. We will be going down in an extreme Hiatus until the decision has been made. The Ookami team is terribly sorry for this tragic event, but something must be done.

2/12/07 - Can you believe it, it's 2007! But anyways, SORRY FOR THE LACK OF UPDATES! However, Kyai-kun and Tails did not disappear from the face of the Earth, but are bust with...umm "reality". (If there is one, more like an influence from outside this world.)
Simply put, Tails will be back in February vacation to continue the roleplay and hopefully wrap it up with a few treats. Tails is looking forward to doing a flatsale, (even if it's going to be a small one, DOESN'T MATTER).

12/10/06 - MAIN ROLEPLAY EVENT STARTED! Go to pg 382 for more details. ;D It will also be posted on the front page when I have the time! xD

11/22/06 - You guessed it! That's right! OOKAMI'S ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It's going to be hoppin' with events, roleplay, flatsales, and more! So staued tuned for more!

11/12/06 - The mini roleplay event has ended! The next (main) roleplay event's date will be announced. Thank-you to all who participated. You all earned major guardian points. ;D

10/28/06 - The mini roleplay event has started! It is the beginning chapter (basially getting to know other Ookami) to the much deeper main story roleplay event. It will begin at 10/28 to 11/11.

'Ookami' is the japanese word for 'wolf'. Ookami are very much like wolves, but exceed them in intelligence, and vary in color and personality. Unlike wolves, ookami evolve from certain objects when they are chosen by a master. The object they can evolve from is random, although there seems to be some connection between the object's identity and the personality the corresponding ookami develops in the future.

No one knows for sure exactly how ookami came to be with us, but it is clear that the bond they develop with their caretaker is central to their life, and essential to their growth. They are clearly a social-reliant race like humans, and love to be social with others of their kind as well as their caretakers.

Ookami are mainly roleplaying pets. However, you can own one just for fun if you wish- roleplaying your Ookami is not required. The general idea in roleplaying Ookami is to incorporate your pet's item- the one they evolved from- into their personality somehow. For example; an Ookami that started out as a knife may have a violent temper, or an Ookami that started out as a mirror may be vain and obsessed with their appearance. If you don't roleplay your Ookami, you don't have to worry about this- but those who do roleplay their pets are required to incorporate their Ookami's item into their personality somehow. This is purely for fun, however- we're not going to penalize you or take away your pet if you don't- it's just something to make owning an Ookami more fun. Of course, there will be items that don't have any specific meaning or cannot be incorporated into a personality- so that would be your chance to get creative. You can be funny with it, too- an Ookami that evolved from a spork may have an unusual obsession with sporks or other eating utensils. The sky is the limit. Be original.

Ookami have three known stages of growth- although there may be others that haven't been reached yet. All ookami start out as an inanimate item, which, when properly cared for by its master, will change into an ookami pup. The rate of growth of this ookami depends on the owner's care and preference- ookami that are not affected by growth halt or acceleration will reach maturity in a few weeks if properly cared for.
Evolutionary Item Stage

The Evolutionary Item Stage, or just the item stage is where your ookami starts out as an item. Of course it will grow into a more ookami-like creature once in its pup stage and so forth. However, the item stage is the most important stage of the ookami growth process. During this stage is when your ookami's personallity, abilities, etc are decided. The item you choose, or is given reflects off your ookami's personallity or different abilities. For example, a knife could have a violent personallity, and murderous claws. The colors are also chosen in this stage. By that means if your knife is a blue with purple spots, then you can guarantee your ookami's coat pattern will have blue and purple hues. All this is within the item stage, so choose your evolutionary items wisely!

Growth: 5 days > 2 weeks. Depending on your care and activity for your ookami.
Pup Stage

Your ookami has finally reached pup stage! Now you can see your developing ookami's true form! During the pup stage, is where the most interaction between the owner and the ookami begins. This stage proves whether you're a reliable, trustworthy, caring owner or not. Roleplaying is not forced upon, but doing so gives you guardian points. You ookami as a pup will show signs of its personallity. It will hint to you what it might be as a full adult. Pups are generally information seekers. Since they are new to the world they would ask questions and be hyper. However, that does not go for all ookamis considering their personallities, but generally speaking they are like playful, oblivious to the world, pups. As this stage is where it is most vulnerable to anything, so be a good example to your ookami!

Growth: 1.5 weeks < 2 weeks. Most likely two weeks since we want your ookami to relish his or her childhood. Plus it gives more time for you to roleplay as a pup before going onto the final stage!
Adult Stage

Ahh, adulthood the final stage of an ookami's life! Now your ookami is your long life companion. Once in the adult stage it can grow no longer! But don't be sad, now that your ookami has reached adulthood, various opportunities and other neat things can be obtained that couldn't when your ookami was still a pup! Breeding is now open to your ookami at this point. Love affairs, babies, oh so much! Also, now that your ookami is an adult, its personallity is fully set and its mind fully developed. Meaning it's mature, stable, and don't need as much attention as before. It fully trusts you now and you still must provide it with care! Although they may be adults, they still can be troublesome and make mistakes. Still, it doesn't mean you don't need to roleplay them anymore. Actually once as an adult, roleplaying is encouraged greatly for it's steering its way to deeper roleplays. Who knows, your ookami might actually grow...again!

Growth: Forever. (Does not grow) However there are rumors about a guardian stage.
Guardian Stage

Adults are the last known stage- however, there have been rumors that a higher evolution is possible. In this supposed stage, the ookami becomes its caretaker's guardian in return for the care and devotion the owner has raised the said ookami with. For this reason, the rumored final stage has been named the 'guardian' stage.

Unfortunetly not much is known about this stage, except it comes after the adult stage, however there is little information regarding to how one obtains this stage. There are guardian points collected by the ookami each time it is roleplayed within an Ookami roleplay-event. Like experience points it gains these guardian points with each move it makes towards other ookamis and towards its owners. How much guardian points needed is unknown, but role-playing, rumored, is said to be the only way to achieve this stage.

Yet all these are just rumors; no one knows for sure (not even the Ookami) when or how the guardian stage is reached. Just keep caring, and roleplaying the ookami and see what happends!

Flatsales will occasionally be RP prompted, but for the most part, they will be speed sales.

Speed Sales - Post here, IN THIS THREAD which ookami you want in said flatsale, and if one of the staff approves, send the trade to our shop mule, O o k a m i. DO NOT SEND TRADES TO KYAISHI! If you do, it will get you ignored, and if you keep doing it, it will get you blacklisted. You may pay with items, but we will require you to overpay if it is not in pure. Please get your offer approved with one of the staff before you send us your trade.

RP Prompted Sales - In these sales, you will be required to post an example entrance of the ookami you want. Post the number of the ookami you want BEFORE the RP example, and take your time with the prompt. We will not judge the prompts until all the people who want to apply have applied, and we will award the winners with the ookami. Please note, you will still have to pay the full flatsale price. It would also be a wise idea to post your second and third choices of ookami, if you have any. If we like your prompt, but the ookami you want is taken, we may give you your secondary or third choices.

Limited edition ookami are one-of-a-kind ookami that will have their own unique lineart, and will only be made once and given to one person. These ookami will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, and after that, another of its kind will never be made again. They will have all of their stages done in their own unique lineart to make it more valueable to the owner. For these limited editions, the bidding will usually start at 10k or up, depending on the amount of work having gone into making said ookami. If you have a suggestion for what future limited editions should be made, please offer us your opinions, we would really appreciate them ^_^

People who roleplay their ookami in the specified thread will all have a chance to show off their pets' personalities and their own roleplaying skills, and those who impress us will receive prizes. Youth Potion (stops growth) - 500g
This magical orange potion 'stunts' or stops the growth of your ookami. It will stay as it is in it's current stage and will not be able to grow any further. If you later decide you want your ookami to grow, however, you may purchase the growth acceleration potion to continue its growth.

Speed Potion (accelerates growth) - 1500g
This potion can be used on the item and pup stage to make it mature faster than it normally would. You CANNOT use this potion on your adult ookami to make it reach the guardian stage. One growth acceleration potion = one stage reached faster.

Background Information:
I do coloring for ookami, and some certing. I do most of the background certs and extra doodles, sometimes the item stage, sometimes maps, sometimes lineart for the customs, and even some of the maps. coloring items, etc for ookami. There are rumors that I give out fanart of their ookami(s) to dedicated ookami owner roleplayers; is it true?
Tools of the Trade: If you want to know what I use to color these ookamis:
1. Color Ookamis by Microsoft Paint. (I use a mouse so it might take longer than usual. xD )
2. Smudge & Blur in Photoshop Elements.
3. Cert in Photoshop Elements.

Owners are greatly encouraged to roleplay their Ookami here in the main thread, or in the roleplay thread. You may roleplay elsewhere if you prefer, but you will not be given a chance to win any awards, since we don't go looking for your posts. We have no specific rules- far be it from us to staunch your creativity- but if you start to abuse our leniency, a set of rules will be created.
