This week's topic is gloom. No this doesn't reflect my mood at all. ninja The Suites Weekly Art Challenge is a weekly creative outlet for artists of all skill levels. A topic is posted every Wednesday night and artists have an entire week to interpret that topic in whatever way they like. The Suites Weekly Art Challenge is meant to challenge participants creatively. There is no pressure. There is no one judging the outcome. It's just a chance to practice and experiment and have fun with art.
Topics will be chosen from your suggestions. Please feel free to post your suggestions for future topics! Keep in mind that a topic should be very general so that people can interpret it in many creative ways. No avi art or specific things please. x3Rules 1. Post only your own work here. Do not post work done by other artists.
2. Do not steal work that is posted here.
3. Do not critique work that is posted here. If the artist wants critique, he/she can make another thread asking for it.

Nice one, Ifa!
If poor Szen is gloomy, maybe we should be cheering him up instead of showing him depressing artwork...
Anyway, mine has a story behind it. At my old college, there was an absolutely lovely cemetery right next door. I used to walk through it either for fun or to get to the grocery store. On murky winter days, it could be a rather depressing place, though. Scraggly trees and graves, and no sound but the relentless cawing of hundreds of crows. I tried to draw a couple other gloomy things first, but my tree with crows came out decently (for me). I added a cardinal to make it look a little less depressing. o_o

I love Ifa's simple graphic design-esque picture as well as Sala's crows & tree picture. @ 3@ <333 (the cardinal is great. C: )

How many entry's can you submit? I've got three I want to submit....
I've got one which is an ink wash I did in figure drawing on a particularly gloomy day and it really showed in my artwork..

Then I have this gloomy old house I had to draw for my job...

And then I have a little piece I sketched in my notebook for this topic.
