Male Temeos:

Description
Roscoe:

User Image
Name: Roscoe
Nickname(s): None as of yet.
Gender: Male
Born:
Orientation: Straight

Mate: None

Stuff: Three Studs, Earcuff, Tail-ring

Personality: Roscoe is a fun-loving Temeo who's always looking for the next great adventure. He vastly enjoys exploring, whether it be by himself or, much preferably, in the company of good friends. As far as he’s concerned, the depths of a new cave beats any movie or TV show out there. Of course, this promotes a bit of restlessness within the boy every now and again, as new places to check out are scarce at best. Still, even attics and basements can sustain the want for adventure in the Temeo if nothing else is to be found.

Roscoe is good at making due.

This adventurous spirit gives him a natural leadership quality. He likes to be the one in charge and would sooner bring the whole cause crashing to the ground than follow the rule of someone he doesn’t feel worthy of the position. Luckily, he doesn’t usually find people unworthy. He’s not so into leading that it creates a ton of conflict. It’s more of the kind of thing where if no leader is present in a situation, and one is needed, he’ll gladly step into the roll. He also likes to lead the conversation when he can.

Perhaps his greatest strength, and biggest flaw, is the fact that he has a great hero complex. He often gets himself into trouble after protecting someone else. But he doesn’t mind, so long as the ones he cares about aren’t hurt.

As far as Religion goes, Roscoe doesn’t know what to believe. He hasn’t been alive very long, so his views on such things are extremely lax. Though he is leaning a bit more in the favor of his friend Caj’s direction, as impressionable youngsters often do in the face of someone they admire. Cajanic is an Agnostic. He doesn’t believe in God, but he does think that if convincing proof should ever reveal itself, he would give religion a chance. In short, he’s still looking for some kind of sign that God is real. Roscoe is willing to give religion the same chance. Whether or not he finds the same kind of proof as Cajanic might, however, is unknown.

His social class isn’t anything fanciful. The male has a moderately nice living and has never known the difficulties of going hungry or cold. Luckily for him, Cajanic makes a pretty good living as a freelance artist and can provide for his Temeos without too much trouble. Roscoe feels a bit bad that he depends on his buddy for so much, his existence mostly, but there’s little he can do. Few jobs ask for thumbless quadrupeds, regardless of the level of their intelligence. Some day he hopes he’ll be able to pay Cajanic back for his kindness.

When it comes to friends, Roscoe prefers those who mesh with his own personality. Though some say opposites attract, Roscoe just isn’t a fan of the philosophy. The purple Temeo loves out-going, friendly people with similar interests and those who grasp the simple concept of wit. He isn’t fond of social gatherings, or those who leap at the chance to call one another friend without getting to know each other first. When faced with large groups of Temeo, Roscoe often hides away or keeps quiet until approached. It is the only time where he can be seen as reserved. In one-on-one or small congregations he’s all about the conversation. He loves hearing stories and participating in active debates. Indeed, Roscoe likes intelligent Temeo more than anything else. That’s not to say he’ll completely snub Temeo who aren’t like him, of course. He’s nice enough to try and get to know everyone.

So long as it’s not all at once.

He’s much more open in notions of love than in friendship. Roscoe is a firm believer in love at first sight and the idea that true love is the strongest thing in the world. Yes, Cajanic’s bleeding heart has dripped all over Roscoe and made him a hopeless romantic as well. His match doesn’t have to be anything like him, so long as their feelings for each other are real.

Of course, sometimes Roscoe can be a bit too quick to think it’s love.

Roscoe loves kids. He wants to have, in his words, “a ton of ‘em” with the one who becomes his mate. Or mates, if true love eludes him the first time around. Whatever the case, he wants to make sure his genes make it to the pool, future generations of Roscoes secure.

Sadly, Roscoe swims like a brick, and is afflicted with a terrible trepidation for deep water. No, he isn’t afraid of showers. The purple Temeo just doesn’t like massive bodies of water, such as lakes or large ponds. Hell, even suspiciously deep puddles give him the willies. He also isn’t fond of the idea of anything bad happening to any of his friends.
Health: Roscoe is almost always is good health. When he is sick, though. he makes it quite clear. Roscoe is horrible with colds and such, miserable and willing to make everyone around him suffer too. Luckily he's never been seriously sick. He would probably have his friends light candles for him or something.
Intelligence: Roscoe is a fairly bright Temeo. He doesn't often show it though, unless he needs to take the lead in a situation. The male likes to just hang out with people and not have them think he's some kind of stuck up creep just because he has a heightened diction.
Talents: His primary talent is his ability to fly, which he has mastered in his short time on earth. His small wings almost don't seem capable of supporting his weight, but that's not the actual case. Roscoe has the bone structure of a bird, making him incredibly light and easy for his wings to hold in the air.
Hobbies: Roscoe like to fly and explore, as previously stated.
Habitual Mannerisms: He's always stretching his wings in uncomfortable situations. It's a dead tell that he isn't comfortable with what's going on around him. He also smiles a lot. Can a smile be a mannerism?

Likes: Kids, caves, dark places, small animals, happy people, cookies, candy, playing with friends, being alone every now and again, intelligence.
Dislikes: Stupid people, just like Caj.

Family: He has no family at this moment. Caj is he owner and best friend, and the closest thing he has to a father. Avast is his would-be brother.
Friends: Moon -Moon is the only Temeo Roscoe has really gotten to know. He likes her a lot and hopes to continue his relationship with her.

Description
Avast:

User Image
Name: Avast
Nickname(s):
Gender: Male
Born: 01/19/08
Orientation: Straight

Mate: None

Stuff: None

Personality: Much like Roscoe, Avast has an adventurer’s spirit burning deep inside his chest. But for him the magic does not lie within stuffy caves or dark corners. The sea. That’s where Avast would rather spend his time. Be it on a each or, more effectively, out on a boat over the waters. Though four-legged and incapable of properly sailing himself anywhere, he still enjoys when Cajanic gives into him and takes him out for a ride in their small sloop-like vessel. Cajanic had bought the “damn thing” just for him, so why shouldn’t he use it as much as Temeoly possible? He even drags Roscoe along on their adventure. Because, of course, he needs someone to swab the deck.

While on his boat, he loves to fish for his next meal. It’s a relaxing method of hunting that even Cajanic and Roscoe don’t mind doing. Plus, all three of them enjoy fish-tastic meals so it works out for the group that Avast often demands a fishing trip at least once a week.

Also like Roscoe, Avast is a born leader. Granted his leadership is of a more stubborn and implemented air than his would-be brother’s. Avast likes being in charge, and he doesn’t care what he has to do to claim the position. Mutiny is a common affair on the seas, and if Avast has to threaten pushing a man over board to get his way he’s liable to do it. Thankfully, however, Cajanic and Roscoe have both become aware of his need to lead and gladly step aside for him whenever it’s alright to do so. Pleasing him ranks first over being the one to give orders. And they find it amusing –the youngest of them doing all the bossing around- so they don’t complain much. Sometimes, naturally, Cajanic is forced to put his foot down to stop his Temeo from going too far, leaving Avast to pout and get over things in his pirate-themed room. Roscoe worries for the other Temeo when Avast finally meets them, wondering how many will end up being part of Avast’s crew without even realizing it. Back in the old days it was a ship thing, nowadays it would something more akin to a gang.

And Roscoe doesn’t want to see that.

That’s why it pleases him so much to know that Avast does have a good heart. In spite of his bossy attitude and ‘pirate stuck in another time’ persona, Avast isn’t so into himself that he won’t help those in need. In fact, he seems to get a thrill from jumping into fights even when he has nothing to do with them just to protect an acquaintance or, more likely, a pretty girl Temeo.

Yes, unlike Roscoe’s one-woman policy, Avast just doesn’t find the notion of true love remotely possible. He says mating is just for fun, and the offspring their produced are to keep that fun alive for future generations. He’s love to plant his seed in as many girls as possible. Roscoe is just glad the Temeo has not had the opportunity to seduce any ladies as of yet, and hopes his younger brother will stumble upon true love and settle down before he can cause any trouble. He thinks it’s possible, since true love is so powerful and all. It can calm even the wildest storm. Roscoe and Avast also share a love for kids. Both Temeo want to have children at some point, though Avast seems to want an army more than a family.

Now why is Avast such a pirate? Cajanic and Roscoe can’t definitively say. He just… popped out that way. Cajanic thinks the Temeo had a past life as a pirate at some point, and his new life still clings to some principles it was supposed to forget with the reincarnation. Roscoe isn’t sure if he’s ready to believe all that, but he does find it strange that Avast acts so much like an old-school, boat loving bad a**. Maybe they’ll never find out.

Whatever the reason, they still accept their plundering pal and warmly welcome him into the family. Quirks and strangeness included.

Health: Avast makes a point of taking care of himself the best he can. He knows a captain can't risk getting ill, after all. Those few times where he does find himself ill (or hurt, as more commonly occurs) Avast makes no outward show of it. Sometimes it takes days before even Roscoe and Cajanic notice he's not acting quite right. It means, however, that he has the capacity to keep something serious from those who only want to help him, putting himself into danger stubbornly. But tell that to him and see how far it gets you.
Intelligence: Avast is very intelligent, but undereducated. Meaning, he's not great with fancy words and he can't hold the same level of conversation as, say, Roscoe can, but that doesn't mean he's stupid. Avast has more common sense about him and is fantastic when it comes to thinking up plans and getting himself out of (or into, if he feels like it) trouble. Illiterate primarily, Avast doesn't bother with things like books and writing; he just doesn't have a good enough grasp on that sort of thing to feel like trying it more often. Because he writes like a three year, more often than not reading and writing just makes him really angry. Books end up out windows more than they do in his lap. This lack of literature has also had an impact on his vernacular. The Temeo doesn't speak like normal people. His dialect is much more broken. More... nautical. 'Yars' and 'ye' find their way into his speech pattens more often than not.
Talents: The strange Temeo is very good at plotting. Not sure if that would be considered a talent, but that's what he's best at.
Hobbies: Avast is a pirate. His hobbies include anything pertaining to that. But he also likes to find time to draw, since his new life doesn't offer many sea-fairing chances. Anything he can do by himself he enjoys. Even the odd puzzle.
Habitual Mannerisms: Avast has an odd habit of winking at people. It shows that he's almost never telling the truth.

Likes: The sea, ships of all sizes, strong winds, sea shells, solitude, alcohol, pillaging.
Dislikes: Happy people, law enforcement, rules, obligations

Family: None.
Friends: He wouldn't call anyone friend, but Caj and Roscoe are part of his "crew" as far as he's concerned. They're reliable and he trusts them, but Avast just doesn't have it in him to call them chums or anything more than acquaintances. Shipmates. If it came down to it, and he had to pick between them or some treasure, they would find themselves out on their asses.

Personality: Collins is a reserved kind of Temeo. He doesn't take kindly to large groups and is often the one upsetting others. He doesn't mean to, it's just that sometimes his sarcasm bites too strongly and he says the wrong thing entirely. It gets taken the wrong way.

But he's a kind Temeo at heart. It's just getting to that guy that's the trick.

Collins is also a knight in shining armor type. He loves holding doors open for ladies, doing things for them and just acting like a gentlemen when around. Habit.

“I’m back!” Barked the unmistakable voice of Cajanic as he sauntered lazily into the house, tossing his coat aside and missing the rack by about a foot. It was close enough to count, the pale man figured, and failed to pick up the jacket and try again, leaving it stranded on the floor. With the way the collar was propped up slightly off the carpet, it almost looked as though it was begging its lover to come back and give it another chance.

But alas, it was forgotten.

The house was nice. Quaint but roomy once inside. It claimed two stories, along with a lofty basement suitable to be used as an awesome den and a less spacious attic whose sole purpose happened to be the role of a storage facility. It had five rooms to it: three yet unused, Roscoe’s room upstairs and the master bedroom at the end of the room on the second floor, home of the ever-loving Cajanic.

It was a delight to know that soon one more room would produce a purpose.

“Aren’t you back a little early?” remarked Cajanic’s friend and, as far as he was concerned, animalistic son Roscoe. Indeed, the undead artist could not bring himself to call such an intelligent creature a pet. It was a symbiotic, equal relationship they shared. Roscoe was more than happy to call Cajanic father, just not to his face. It seemed a little weird to call him ‘dad’ to his face. “Decided not to do any art work today, eh Caj?” he added after a thoughtful moment.

Roscoe was positioned on the sofa in the living room, lying down with his back legs hanging over the front of the seat. Long ears sat erect atop his head, still standing after they had first picked up on Cajanic unlocking the door and stepping inside. He watched his parental figure enter the room, arching the Temeo equivalent to an eyebrow while sitting up and stretching his front legs. It had been a long day of napping.

“Least I do some work you lazy thing,” Cajanic shot back promptly, offering a feigned grunt of irritation, “so what if I decided to come home a little early? I’ll do what I didn’t do today tomorrow for sure.”

“Honestly Caj, have you ever gotten any work done… ever?”

“Har har. I wonder what it’s like to sleep outside in the snow? Because you’re about two seconds from finding out,” Cajanic said, moving slowly towards an aged armchair. He refrained from parking it, however, his hands suspiciously trapped behind his back.

“You wouldn’t kick me out,” hummed Roscoe pointedly, “who would sleep at the end of your bed each night?”

“I’m sure I could get a cute dog.”

“Very nice. I’m glad my presence around here can be traded for an unintelligent animal that pees on everything and likes to eat shoes.”

“An unintelligent animal that pees on everything, eats shoes, and doesn’t yell at hard working people when they decide to take a little break,” countered Caj quickly. Roscoe gave a chuckle, shaking his head. Their ‘arguments’ were anything but; the two liked to play out fake fights just to get in a few harmless jabs at one another. It was just how their friendship worked. They were comfortable enough with one another to know that neither would take offense or think something said was loaded and needed to be taken seriously.

“You’re never going to get that zoo of yours open if you keep putting off the work,” Roscoe pointed out.
Cajanic shrugged.

“Yeah yeah, I know. But it’s not going to open until March. So why should I hurry?” Grumbled the grombie.

“You won’t be saying that when it’s March and you still don’t have anything done, you know. Anyway, what have you got behind your back?”

“Oh this?” Cajanic asked, a grin spreading out widely over his features, “I thought you’d never ask!” Finally he presented the unknown, pulling from his back an oddly shaped bottle. Roscoe smiled, instantly aware of what the strange container held within it.

Another Temeo.

“Thank God!” Roscoe gasped, leaping from the chair and moving over to Caj to inspect the bottle, “I thought I would have to live in this place all alone forever! This is fantasic! It’s such a lovely color! Do you know when he’ll be born? What will you name him? Wait, is it a boy? Do you know yet?”

“Hold on!” Cajanic replied, laughing. Roscoe was talking so fast now his question almost seemed to blur together in one impossibly long string of words that made absolutely no sense. “Try and relax. Now… let’s see…. I don’t know when he’ll be born, yes he’s a boy, and… oh, and I don’t know what I’ll name him. I was thinking Avast.”

“Avast? Isn’t that pirate jargon?” Roscoe asked, looking up at his guardian, his eyes alive with excitement.

“Yes. I don’t know… it just called to me. I think it’ll fit him. Do you like it?” He asked, little aware of how perfect the name really was for the unborn Temeo.

“Yeah… I think I do. Avast it is, then,” and he looked once more at the bottle, “welcome to the family, Avast.”

Another day.

Roscoe was sitting in the living room as usual, humming a tune softly to himself as he plucked the strings of a guitar with his claw. He wasn’t technically playing it, as his paws made it impossible for him to play chords or even get a decent grip on the instrument, but he was enjoying himself none the less. It was something he rarely got to do. Usually going near the strings was a sin punishable by death. That was because the guitar actually belonged to Cajanic. And he held quite an attachment to the thing, often referring to it as ‘his baby’ and mentioning more than once that if the house caught fire he would save it and not Roscoe. (Roscoe liked to assume that was because he had legs and it wasn’t fair to expect the guitar to escape on its own.) But because the man wasn’t around to tell Roscoe off for touching his most prized possession, the Temeo held no qualms with toying with it as he pleased. He was being careful, refraining from bringing any harm to the precious darling.

After about ten minutes of mindlessly strumming the strings to no particular beat, Roscoe grew bored of his misdeed and moved away from the guitar, leaving it just as he had found it so pesky Cajanic would be none the wiser upon his return.

The man was out working on his zoo, finally getting some work done on it so he could open the place to the public and fulfill his month-long dream. Whether or not the zoo would take off was anyone’s guess, but regardless of its future the purple Temeo was happy to see his owner and friend investing energy into something that didn’t need to be controlled with a remote.

Sighing in a mixture of content thought and sheer boredom, Roscoe roamed around the house idly, heading into the room they had created for their newest member Avast. It was a nicely sized room on the second floor, right across the hall from where Roscoe made roost. The two had decided to play up on the name they had given their soon-to-be family member and decked the halls in a pirate costume. The walls were painted mid-way with waves, which carried along on all four sides. The door looked like the wooden frame allowing entrance into the captain quarter’s on a ship, made of elegant wood with a circular window nearer the top. The one thing that made it mildly different was the doggy door at the bottom, allowing un-thumbed Temeo to wander inside without shoving themselves against the wood. The bed was shaped like a ship, tattered black sails and a familiar look to it. The two had designed it after a ship they had seen in a popular Disney movie about pirates.

The other furniture also fit the style, adorning shells, ships parts, navigation knickknacks and more. They had even put in a tank full of real fish, so the Temeo would have some company while adjusting to a new life.

All in all, the room had made Cajanic and Roscoe proud. Even a little jealous, as their own rooms lacked so much creativity and effort.

Progressing inside, Roscoe moved to the bed, jumping easily onto the mattress and sitting down on top of the covers. Sitting just in front of the pillows was the small jar that would one day produce his little not-so-brother Avast. Smiling, he watched it, happy to just sit and wait for it to gurgle and shake. He didn’t know how long it would take for the Temeo to join them, and that only added to his excitement. Sighing, he got up, moving himself closer to the bottle. A paw stretched forward, gently running along the object.

“I hope to meet you soon,” Roscoe said to the bottle, “hurry up and join us!”

The jar hissed in response.

He would have spent more time with his silent friend, had a knock not come at the door. Blinking, the purple Temeo leaped off the bed, leaving Avast for a moment so he could find out who was talking on the house at so odd an hour. It was getting pretty late, almost ten in the evening.

Curiosity piqued, he hurried back down stairs, knocking up the lock on the door so it could be easily opened by someone without paws. He did so, not sure what to expect.

The last thing he thought he would find waiting for him to open up was a new family member.

“Hey baby!” Greeted the unnamed Temeo as Roscoe opened the door, grinning from ear to ear. The way her tone had come across anyone would have thought that the two had known each other for years. The truth of the matter, though, was that Roscoe had never seen this female before and had absolutely no idea why she was there or why she was smiling at him like he was a hot meal to a starving animal.

Blinking, Roscoe stood dumb for a moment, taking in her appearance.

She was a lovely shade of pink, with even lovelier hair. It was a deeper pink than her body, save for the patch on her back which matched perfectly. It hung over one eye, completely concealing it from view. That wasn’t a surprise to Roscoe- most of the female Temeo he had seen wore their hair in a similar fashion. But this was a bit different, somehow. The hair was curlier, like she had put in a lot of time dolling it up. Perhaps she was the kind of creature who liked to keep herself looking as groomed and presentable as possible. It was nice seeing someone who too interest in themself. Along with the pink, Roscoe was fascinated by her tiger-like stripes. They were black and all over her body, including over her face. Something the male had not seen before.

But what he really took notice of were her eyes. Or, eye, as it were. Bright and friendly. Trusting and warm. Roscoe already felt as though he didn’t have to worry about her robbing the place or trying to scam him. There was an innocence about her that was easily picked up on; he knew she wasn’t an enemy.

That still left the wonder of why she was there, however.

“You going to stare all night honey, or are you going to let me?” questioned the female with a smirk, arching the equivalent to an eyebrow.

Realizing that he had indeed been looking at her for a good minute or so, Roscoe gasped, snapping back from his daze like a rubber band.

“Oh! I’m sorry. I just…. Who are you?” he asked, regaining him swiftly, albeit with the aptitude of a retard giving a lecture on quantum physics. The female gave a disarming laugh.

“My mistake, I forgot Cajanic didn’t tell you I would be coming,” she hummed.

“You know Cajanic?”

“I do indeed! But maybe we can discuss this more inside? It’s bloody cold out here and I think my tails are about to fall off.” And without waiting for an invitation, the female Temeo waltzed her way inside, bypassing Roscoe with ease, seeing as he was the stone remains to her medusa gaze. Brushing up against him as she passed, she let out a sort of purr, hurrying her way into the house. “Thanks honey! I thought I would freeze out there,” she said to him, glancing over her shoulder.

“Err… but I… oh…. Okay,” Roscoe sighed, defeated. Shutting the door with his nose, the bemused boy turned around, leading the way quietly into the den. The female was delighted by the house, making several comments about how manly it seemed to be and how much she would to re-decorate. “What is it you want?” Roscoe inquired, watching her in sheer wonder. She leapt into one of the chairs, relaxing easily like she was the one who owned the place.

“You know, you’re supposed to offer your guests drinks. That’s good manners,” was her less than helpful response.
Roscoe grunted, tails swishing with unease.

“I can get you whatever you want, after you fill in a few blanks for me,” he assured her.
Sighing, the female rolled her eyes, getting off the chair and moving into the kitchen, Roscoe at her heels.

“Cajanic and I met a few days ago. He told me it would be alright if I came to stay with him, since I have no place to call home. I hope you don’t mind. He said you wouldn’t. He said that Roscoe is ‘friendly, but reserved when you first meet him.’ I suppose he got you spot on, hm? So… yeah… he should be coming back soon with my stuff. Since I don’t have paws he kindly offered to bring what little I own here.”

“I see,” was all Roscoe could think to say. A new room mate didn’t seem so bad. And knowing the story gave him a chance to relax a smidge. His assessment hadn’t been wrong- she really wasn’t trying to con him. “Well, it’s nice to meet you. But you have me at a disadvantage. I don’t know you’re name…”

“It’s Maureen honey,” replied the female Temeo, “and it’s nice to meet you too! Tell me, do you have a place I can sleep? I’m exhausted.”

“Oh… uh… well, we don’t have an extra bed for you yet, but if you don’t mind sleeping with an unborn Temeo, I can let you stay in Avast’s room. He’s my… kind of brother. And the newest to the family until you arrived.”

“Oh! I want to see him!” cheered Maureen, scampering away quickly and leaping up the stairs. Roscoe chuckled, a little confused, and followed after her. She had found the room on her own, already on the bed with the bottle.

It seemed to be gurgling happily.

“So cute!” cooed Maureen, “I bet he’ll be adorable when he’s born! I can’t wait to see him.”

“Yeah, I can’t wait either. I’m sure he’ll be great.

The bottle wiggled.

“Look! It moved! That’s wonderful! I’ll treat him like my brother too, okay? And I can be your sister if you want. You’ll be my big brother and his.”

Laughing, Roscoe nodded, “that sounds fantastic. I’d love to be your big brother. Anyway, I’ll let you sleep now. It was very nice meeting you and… well… I guess I’ll see you in the morning!”

With that he left, allowing Maureen a chance to rest with Avast. He smiled to himself, slowly descending the stairs to wait for Cajanic to get home. It seemed they had a lot to talk about. He was glad for a new friend in his dull life. She seemed a little strange and hyper, but sweet in her boldness. He didn’t doubt that he would grow very fond of her as his pseudo sister.

Sighing, he settled once more on the sofa, wings flexing as he yawned.

What a day.

Event!
Vaporization.

If the day had been crazy so far, it was about to get even more eventful. Intrigues by Maureen's company, the little critter inside seemed more eager to come out. And with a few tremors shaking the pouch-protected vial, the cork popped open and a small wisp of vapor came out.

And in a matter of seconds, the vapor was pouring out in excess, swirling all over the place before starting to gather up in the same fashion a planet would be born. And the vapor soon settled and formed a solid creature.

Congratulations! Prompted by interaction, your Temeo has emerged!

“Oh my God!” screamed Maureen, her voice easily carrying all up and down the hall. Even after filtering through Roscoe’s door and into his room it sounded as clear as ever, as though she had decided to scream her head off right there beside his bed. “Roscoe! Roscoe come quickly!!!”

Groaning, not in any particular mood to get up before his body wanted him to, the purple Temeo sat up slowly, stretching his back by straightening his front legs and pulling his chin towards his chest, feeling a friendly pull in his neck and down. Standing up on the mattress, Roscoe looked around, quite surprised to find that Maureen really wasn’t in the room. He could have sworn she had been right up next to his ear hollering into it. With an agitated sigh, the boy leapt off his bed, progressing slowly to the door. Maybe he had been dreaming it. Maybe there wasn’t a Maureen and the whole bizarre meeting had been nothing more than figments in the night.

It wouldn’t surprise him; sometimes his dreams were very realistic.

“Roscoe!” screamed Maureen again, the excitement in her tone bouncing off the walls and into his ears. It also allowed him to register the fact that the creature was indeed real. Despite how surreal their encounter had been, Cajanic really had allowed an out-going, pink and striped Temeo female to stay with them as long as she wanted to. Frowning, he wasted no more time on thought and comprehension, hurrying to see why his new house mate was screaming at the top of her lungs for him. As he darted across the hall, he saw Cajanic exiting from the master bedroom, throwing a robe over himself as he, too, wanted to know what all the fuss was about. Together they entered Avast’s room, which was the last place he had left Maureen.

“What the hell is-oh!” Gasped Roscoe, his eyes coming to rest on a small grey figure lying nestled against Maureen’s slender frame.
It had a cute little red bandana around his head and what looked like a long row of fins running down his back. His two tails were more akin to a whale’s rather than a Temeo’s, both holding flukes on them. He even seemed to have little blue webbing between his little toes.

There is no doubt in the room that Avast had come out of his bottle.

The little creature looked up at the two standing dumb-founded in the doorway, offering them a baby smile and a meek: “Ahoy.”

“Hello,” greeted Cajanic, moving quickly into the room, a huge smile moving over his face proportionally with how close he got to the bed, “welcome to the house, Avast. Is there anything you need? Oh! My name is Cajanic. You can think of me as the go-to guy around these parts.”

“Like the Cap’in?” asked Avast softly.

“Err… sure,” replied Cajanic, “like the captain. And Roscoe here is my first mate. Roscoe, come say hello!”

Obediently, though really he didn’t need the invite, Roscoe looked at the cute little Wild. “Yes, hello! I’m Roscoe. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. We’ve been waiting for a while now, you know. And I guess you’ve already met Maureen.”

“Lady Maureen be kind to Avast,” the child responded, his broken English tugging the heart strings of all three older folk. They loved listening to him speak, though because he was so new he was a bit too timid to say a whole lot. Much to their dismay, it seemed.

Avast looked up at Maureen, smiling warmly at her. It seemed he had grown quite attached to her already, making it all the more official that she was a member of the family.
And Maureen seemed very fond of Avast in return, grinning down at him and giving his hair a little lick. She was happy to let him nuzzle against her almost in a child-to-mother kind of way. Being the first thing he had seen of his new world, it wasn’t a surprise that he clung to her. She had been around him, keeping him warm and making him feel incredibly welcome.

They would be very close from that moment on.

“Are you hungry little pirate?” Maureen asked the boy in a charming tone, her defenses down so Avast could relax as well. Things were a little over-whelming for him. He had never been in a such a big world before. But the thought of so much to explore intrigued him to no end. Even at so young an age, he was ready to see what the world had to offer him.

“Aye,” Avast peeped, shifting away from Maureen as the pretty pink Temeo got to her paws.

“Well good!” laughed Cajanic, “I’ll make a big breakfast for all of us in celebration of our two newest members! What do you guys want?”

“French toast!” Maureen barked.

“French toast!” Repeated Avast, if only because he didn’t know what any food tasted like and wanted to follow Maureen’s example.

“Well, I would like pancakes, but Caj you can’t cook,” Roscoe said thoughtfully, arching a brow towards his friend. Cajanic giggled, rubbing the back of his neck.

“Doesn’t mean I can’t try!” said he, before looking back at Avast and Maureen, “French toast and pancakes it is! And eggs for me. Okay! I’m off to the kitchen to cook us up something nice. If you need anything, just come find me alright? Don’t be frightened to ask me for help, either of you.” With that he made his exit, off to potentially blow the roof off the house with his feeble attempts at cooking. Roscoe sighed, watching him go. No doubt this would come back to haunt them. And soon.

With Cajanic gone, the three Temeo lingered in silence for an extended minute, no one sure what to say to the others.
It was Maureen who broke the silence with a light chuckle.

“Alright little pirate, would you like to see the house?” She asked, looking at the creature. Avast nodded, prompting her gaze to shift towards Roscoe. “I’m sure Roscoe can take us around! I don’t know this place much myself. I only got in last night!”

“I’d love to give you two a tour,” replied Roscoe, feeling a little roped in, “follow me.”

As he moved out the door the two Temeo followed after him, Avast keeping close to Maureen as the tour commenced. After a while, though, he gained some courage, moving about on his own and looking things over for himself. Roscoe and Maureen were both glad to see it. As Avast took a moment to explore Cajanic’s room, the older two sat in the hall and waited for him.

“You have quite the set of lungs,” Roscoe commented, peering towards Maureen, who smiled back at him.

“Well, I know how to project!”

“Indeed! Anyway, it’s nice that you’re being so kind to Avast. To be honest, from what little I’ve seen of you I didn’t think you were the motherly type.”

“Well, I don’t know if I’m ‘motherly’ but I think kids are fantastic! I just love ‘em. And Avast is such a cutie. He was so nervous when he first woke up! I nearly wet myself when I saw him. And the way he talks! I’ve never met a little pirate before. He’s so adorable I just want to eat him.” She smiled.

Roscoe chuckled, “I know, he’s certainly adorable. I’ve never seen a Wild like him before. I can’t wait to take him to the shop and show him around. He’ll enjoy meeting other Temeo, I think.”

“Other Temeo? Oh, I know the place you mean! I stopped in once, but there was a lot of crying going on and I soon had to exit the stage. I’m not good when it comes to pitying people. But I’d love to go back. Unless people cry there all the time?”

“Haha, no. Not all the time. Then it’s settled! We’ll introduce the idea to Avast and see if he wants to go.”

“Here here!”

A recent account of Avast's first trip to the shop:

RP
Cajanic
Roscoe led the way into the store, the top bun to a Avast sandwich. The little Wild moved nervously in after his "brother," looking around the shop in wonder.

The end consisted of a lovely piece of Maureen, the slender Temeo bumping Avast gently inside with her head. It was his first trip inside the place, and it was fairly obvious that he was as nervous as can be, tentatively looking around while keeping his pace sluggish and hesitant.

"Don't be worried!," Roscoe told him, "This place is full of really nice Temeo, including other Wilds. I'm sure you're going to love it here."

"Aye..." was Avast's less-than-convinced response.

Maureen looked around, grinning. "Looks like there are a few critters around here! Looks like a pretty good day to meet new people."

Kunimai
Chi watched the Temeos pile in through the door. It had been awhile since she had met anyone so she walked up to them and bowed.

"Hello there!" She chirped happily. The one who really caught her eye was Maureen. She had a glossy coat of fur, quite like her own, in warm colors.

Domino lazily sat up and coughed. She wobbled over by Chi and sat down, nodding her head and hoping it would suffice as a bow.

Cajanic
Maureen looked at Chi and Domino, grinning happily. "Hello there! I'm Maureen. We're here to show little pirate here the ropes," she said, indicating the timid gray Temeo at her side.

Avast smiled faintly, nodding a shaky hello to the two ladies. "Ahoy..." he offered in a chirp-like tone.

Kunimai
Chi smiled back sweetly.

"I'm Chi. Well, Chidori really but I prefer it if you call me by my nickname... So you're a pirate huh? Maybe you should talk with Rashii. He may be Russian but he tends to sound like a drunken pirate." She giggled.

"My name is *cough* Domino..." Domino huffed weakly. Even her normally bright pink cheeks were now pale.

"I'm not sure if anything exciting has happened since I just recently got back." Chi cocked her head to the side and stared at Avast, still smiling.

Cajanic
Avast receded behind Maureen, peeking his head around her leg and watching Chi carefully.

Maureen smiled, looking back at the boy. "Now now, I'm not your hiding spot. Come out and introduce yourself honey! They're nice; they won't hurt you. Don't you want to get to know people?" At that Avast frowned, as though really thinking about the question. Rolling her eyes, Maureen stepped aside.

"Ahoy Chi... I be.... Avast," he said softly, keeping his eyes on the ground. He could smell cookies in the air, but he had never had one before so he didn't know what to think of the oder.

"Good boy!" Maureen cheered, before looking at Domino. "You don't look so well, honey, are you okay?" she asked with a frown.

Avast also looked at Domino. "Ye should... lie down... methinks..." he offered, much to the delight of Maureen.

Kunimai
"Aww, well it's nice to meet you Avast!" Chi turned to face Maureen.

"So what brings you here?"

Domino smiled slightly at Avast but winced in pain immediatly afterwords. She concidered these fiveish words to be thoughtful and attempted to return to the couch but failed as her legs collapsed beneath her.

Cajanic
"Pleasure be mine," Avast replied sheepishly, his fur hiding his blush.

Roscoe gasped. "Here," he said softly, "let me help you out." He moved over to Domino, shoving his nose gently under her body. He spread his wing under as well, using it as a sort of lift to hoist her onto his back with the utmost care. It made him glad to have put so much training into flying; his wings strong. Small as he was, his strength was still enough to allow him to carry her over to the sofa. He deposited her carefully onto the couch, sitting down beside her. "Is there anything I can get for you?" He offered.

"I want to!" Chirped Avast, running over to join Roscoe by Domino. "Let me help ye, lass. What do ye require?"

"Well, someone sprang out of their shell," hummed Roscoe, taking a step back. He looked at Kona. "Hello," he greeted.

Kunimai

Domino smiled at Roscoe and Avast.

"Thank you..." She said and she reached out a paw, touching Avast's cheek.

"Nothing can help me but my own inner strength... which happens to be fading..."

Cajanic
Avast wiggled, shifting on his paws as he watched Domino. Having her touch him was something new and it made him nervous, but he toughed it out to keep by her side. "Then ye need a boost!" he yelped, "I wish I could help ye... With yer inner strength." He didn't quite understand what she meant by that, but the little Temeo wanted to help her if he could. Seeing a lady in pain didn't sit well with him.

Though still young, Avast was already the kind of Temeo who would put a lady's welfare ahead of his own.

Kunimai
"Hehe, that's so nice of you. *cough, cough* It is possible to be helped by others but it can only happen in certain ways. Compliments often work, kind words, love, that sort of stuff..." Domino groaned as she coughed. It hurt her sides which were already aching of starvation.

Cajanic
Avast smiled. "Well, I'll be helpin ye as often as me time allows," he said lightly, the flukes on his tails moving up and down like a whale's would. He didn't often sway them side to side. It was more awkward and felt less natural to him.

"I like yer wings," he said after a moment to watch her, "they be nice. Like fine sails on a ship! I reckon I would 'ave liked being born with wings. Hearing the wind through 'em might be like being on deck. Arrr... large wings! Be a find day for me."

Kunimai
Domino almost burst out laughing. Avast was really silly. She fluttered her wings and tried to recreate the motion of sails in the wind.
"Maybe when I get better I can take you out 'sailing'."

Cajanic
Avast grinned, his tails flapping up and down excitedly. Hearing her laugh seemed to generate more energy into him. "Aye, that'd be fantastic! But it'd be me takin ya out on the waves!" He corrected, "I'll get me a proper vessel and ye can really hear tha song of sails." He watched her wings, wiggling about contently. Just thinking about the sea was enough to make him forget that he had been nervous to talk to people.

He felt very comfortable.

Kunimai
"That would be wonderful, Captain. Wow... this is the happiest I've been in a while... Thank you." Domino sat up and stuck her head right in Avast's face.
"See, you're not so shy when it comes down to it..." Smiling, she leapt off the couch.

Cajanic
"I be glad!" Laughed Avast, watching her, "ye look pleased! Tis good to see smiling, lass, it makes ye look so much nicer!" When her face was suddenly very close to his the little Temeo let out a gasp, falling over backwards after recoiling his head. He had thought she aimed to head butt him or something.

He rolled on his back, his fin like row running along his spine bending easily to one side and causing him no harm. He giggled, letting himself fall onto one side. Looking up at her, he grinned.

"I be a bit of a social coward, but meeting ye has helped me vastly! I hope ta repay yer help by helpin in return." He watched her leap off the couch, hooting a 'huzzah!'

"Fantastic!"

Kunimai
Domino's eyes suddenly became a light yellow. She playfully bounded about the room and pretended to be out on the sea. Tackling Avast, she was careful not to be too rough.
"Yar! I be the most fearsome pirate ever to sail the shop! Now walk the plank you filthy buzzard!" It was clear that Domino was out of breath but still she leapt about. She just couldn't stop.

Cajanic
Gasping, the small gray Temeo found himself lying on the floor again, this time looking up at a happy playmate. But he didn't fully understand how she could feel so much better so quickly. Had she been faking before? He doubted it. But his young mind couldn't piece together the full situation.

"I shant be walking, matey!"

Avast laughed, though he wasn't so absorbed in the idea of having fun that he failed to noticed how tired she seemed. Stopping, he tilted his head to one side, watching her in concern.

"I be thinking it best to calm down for a while... I reckon all this must be making ye tired! Not two minutes previous ye was looking mighty green around the gills. Should ye be moving about so much when ye were so sick before?"

Kunimai
Domino was bouncing on her heels.
"What do ya mean? Don't you like having fun?" Again she rolled off around the room. She was beginning to sweat and gasped for breaths.

Cajanic
Avast watched her, his joy quickly dissipating. He was still a child, after all, and seeing something bouncing around the room and saying he didn't like fun was more than enough to make him sad and a little frightened. Hearing her gasp didn't help. His eyes widened as he watched her, the young boy starting to regret ever deciding to open up. Was this how all Temeo acted? Whimpering, he ran for Maureen, seeking shelter against her body. His small face sank into her fur, keeping his eyes from sight.

But the shakes of his shoulders and faint gasps made it obvious that he was crying.

"There there," Maureen said softly, her tails patting against his back like a mother's hand would for humans, "it's okay. Don't be scared. You made her happy! It's okay, sweetheart. Go over to Roscoe, okay? He'll stay with you. I have to go, um, play with Chi. Alright?"

The little male nodded slowly, sniffling as he reluctantly pulled out of her fluff and trudged over to Roscoe for more comfort.

Looks like he's having a bit of trouble. Hope things work out for him.
