Back Story Journal Entry Reggie and Vincent had been living in the house for quiet some time now. They had molded into the workings of the structure and had become one of the fold. More or less, anyway. Vincent was still a little odd and reserved, making it hard for him to blend into his surroundings. Though a fly he wished to be, he was more like the buzzing death light that zapped them in the backyard.
His friend, however, had gotten right into the swing of things without any problems. Admittedly, though, that was probably because he had a brother there to help him out whenever he needed it. Someone who was already deep within the inner circle of the Temeo. Hell, Roscoe WAS the inner circle; the purple male had been there longer than any of the others. So it was a very good thing to just happen to be related to him. The others were all friendly with Reggie, no one wanting to get on Roscoe’s bad side. (It was a scary place to be- the animal was very cruel when he needed to be.) But it wasn’t hard to like Reggie anyway. He had all Roscoe’s sarcasm with a bit more charm and a lot less, well, intelligence. No, he wasn’t stupid, but nor was he bright like his gifted brother. Just… normal.
And a hell of a lot of fun.
One Temeo in the house really enjoyed his company. She was fond of his ability to anger Roscoe and make him laugh almost simultaneously. How he wasn’t afraid to test his luck adventuring and trying new things. Even his glimmering blue scarf captivated her. The strange item he was never without seemed to accent him perfectly- like it was really a part of him. Something he had been born with. The best part? He really enjoyed shopping and would go with her just for kicks.
Indeed, Mimi was smitten.
And she wasn’t alone.
From the most time they had spoken they felt something deeper run between them than when around any of the others. A mutual attraction as deep as the ocean and just as mysterious. Neither one wanted to investigate further only to find out their feelings had been one sided. Thus, for several days they remained in silence about the matter, just talking as often as possible and linking their spare time to make sure no minutes were wasted without one another. All the more the attraction grew.
The caterpillar that was their combined feelings had incased itself in a cocoon of formality and friendship, secretly blossoming into something far more beautiful. In the weeks that followed, this caterpillar soon became too large to hide away within such flimsy disguises. It was only natural that the cocoon hatched and birthed a glorious butterfly.
Its body love and wings of passion finally freeing themselves from the prison of their secrets.
Reggie had been the one to set things off, meeting Mimi one day as usual. But that day he did not just go shopping with her. He instead took her into the living room where they had a long chat about their relationship. Reggie explained that he wanted to try something. Asked her to call it an experiment. In this experiment, they wouldn’t go out on their usual trip as friends, rather, they would go on a date. Mimi was skeptic of the idea.
Why ruin a good friendship? What if it didn’t work out? She wondered if it would just be better not to know.
The deal was sealed when Reggie offered to pay for and plan everything.
Thus were they set- their first date planned and their possible future initiated. Each had their worries. Reggie worried that he would say something dorky and make her find him repulsive. Meanwhile, Mimi fretted that her somewhat pushy attitude would upset Reggie and make him leave before the day was half over.
It was a sleepless night for both.
RP soon to follow XD

Finally, a miracle. No longer did Reggie have to fret and lose sleep over the upcoming date he was going on with Mimi. No more did he have to debate whether or not to call the whole thing off and save face. He had been fretting what she would think of him once they altered their relationship in such a drastic way. Friends. They were good friends.
What if that was how they were supposed to stay?
But he had no more time to think about it-the day was upon him. He sat in the living room, freshly groomed and waiting for his lady friend to finish up getting ready. Like he had come to pick her up a bit too early, except in reality it was just because he lived there.
Roscoe had told him not to worry. That things would be fine. But what did that hard-a** know? He hadn't even managed to hold down a woman of his own. Sighing, he looked around the mostly empty house.
It all seemed so scary to him for some reason.

It was so exciting!
That was all Mimi could think when she looked in the mirror. That and whether or not she should go with some jewelry on. Nah. He had told her that she looked the best without anything to get in the way of her natural beauty. A comment like that was more than enough to keep her from decorating herself in an effort to impress him.
Everything needed to be perfect.
Yes, she was as worried as Reggie, but she was also very much anticipating the day. Given so much time to think about it, she was able to convince herself of all the good things that would come from it should the day go off without incident. Like, she would have a new boyfriend. Maybe new clothes. A nice meal. And did she mention a new boyfriend?
That was important.
She giggled to her reflection, getting up and heading out of the room to meet her man in waiting. Time to shine.

Reggie looked over his shoulder, spotting Mimi enter the room from the corner of his eye. She looked good. Better than he did. But that was a constant.
She was going to tell him she had changed her mind, he just knew it. That the whole thing had been some kind of prank all along.
"Y-you look good," he said awkwardly, watching her a moment longer before looking down at his paws, "should we get going then?"

"Thank you," replied the more out-going female with a broad smile, "you look good too, honey! Don't be so nervous, okay? Everything is go to go swimmingly, I just know it!" She let her twin tails dance about behind her, inwardly hoping her bright smile would be enough to comfort the obviously edgy male.
"Yes," she said after a moment, turning towards the door, "let's go! Where are we going today, anyway? I don't think you ever told me."
She started to head for the entrance, going over different locations in her mind.

"You're right..." Reggie agreed, shaking his head, "it's just... I can't help it! I want things to go well. I guess I'm getting myself worked up over nothing; you're right. Things will go great!" he laughed lightly, trying to show her that he wasn't as big of a dork as he was letting be shown.
So he took a moment to take a deep breath, his mind playing the mantra "it's just like any other day with her" again and again. After a short pause, he followed after her, quickly getting in front so as to push the door open first and allow her passage through it.
Once out he couldn't help but grin, the question prompting some of the playfulness that Mimi liked so very much.
"Telling you would ruin the surprise! Just let me lead, okay?"

"Oh!" whined Mimi, "tell me! I want to know where we're going!" but she knew she wouldn't get it out of him. That cocky, handsome grin was more than enough to let her know she would be getting nothing from him. Not without a fight, anyway. Which, as it so turns out, was something she was willing to put up.
Without wasting a beat, she sprang on him, knocking him over sideways against the street. His yelp of surprise was not enough to stop her, her body moving over his and pinning him to the ground quite impressively.
This lady, Mimi, was not a shy creature. If she wanted to play and flirt with him she was going to regardless of how nervous it made him.
Maybe it was the best way to lighten the mood.
"You will tell me!" she told him, looking down at him from her mounted position, "or we'll just sit here all day and do nothing instead! I'll do it, since I won't know what I'll be missing!"

Reggie hadn't seen it coming.
One moment he was basking in the satisfaction that came with pointedly keeping a secret from someone, the next he was lying on his back in a daze, staring blankly up at the woman he thought would just complain about not knowing where they were going.
He had been wrong in that.
Laughing, the initial shock fading away and revealing the humor in the moment, he wiggled beneath her, trying to get himself away without -actually- trying to... get away.
"Get off me!" he weakly protested, "I won't tell you anything! If you really don't want to go then that's fine!"

Laughing, Mimi remained seated on her partner, looking down at him with a wide grin.
"You think you can be more stubborn than me?" she asked him, leaning her face in close so that it lingered mere inches from his, their noses almost touching. She could feel him breathing, and found it was perhaps the best thing she had experienced in a long time. Being so close to someone, that is.
"You're not going to win this contest," she hummed lightly, her airy stubbornness almost casual, "so why don't you be a good little boy and tell me where we're going today? I'm not going to let you drag me to come monster truck rally."

Boy, she was close. He hadn't expected her to draw herself so near to him. Then again, this was Mimi. Care-free, energetic Mimi who did what she wanted, when she wanted and lived each day as though it would be her last.
An out look on life he had always wanted but she had mastered first.
"As if I would ever take you to something so pointless that even I don't like!" the boy managed in return, swallowing the lump in his throat just soon enough for speech.
On impulse, probably affected by her cheer, Reggie pushed his head forward, touching his nose against hers in what humans called an Eskimo kiss. He held there for a moment, just looking into her eyes.
They were so pretty.
"Now that I think about it, I think this might be more fun than where I was going to go."

Blushing, Mimi watched the black and purple male move closer, half expecting him to kiss her. When he did not, she found herself disappointed. It was a cute moment and made her tummy tingle, yes, but it wasn't the perfect moment.
Maybe it was too soon for that.
Smiling down at him, she shook her head a bit, rubbing her nose against his before sitting back up on his body. A grunt from him let her know that she had moved too fast against his stomach, the female laughing.
"This is fun," she admitted, "but I still want to know where you're taking me! Fine then. If the only way to find out is to let you lead me, then so be it! But I'll find a way to get revenge for you not giving into my demand, just you wait and see." She got off him at that, letting him climb back to his feet as she moved a little down the path they had been heading.

Getting to his feet, the male shook himself off, letting what little dust that clung to him go flying off his sleek body. Mostly it was just because he knew Mimi would be watching him do it, the crafty fox. Spreading his wings, he gave them a quick stretch, letting them rest against his frame once again. Grinning, he moved beside her, one of his tails wrapping around one of hers.
"Don't worry! I'm sure you'll like it. And if you don't we can go somewhere else. I'm sure there's lots for us to do, even if we don't have a plan."
This was nice. This cozy atmosphere he felt beside her. Things were right, he could feel it. Hopefully she could too.
Or being so close to her would not go over so well.
"Revenge?" he added thoughtfully, "ha! I look forward to anything you might want to do to me, trust me on that one."

"We'll see how much you like it," was her shady response.
When he pulled beside her she was glad, having felt like he had missed a moment before. This was at least a step in the right direction. Soon they would be where she wanted them to be. Perhaps he was still a little nervous and, even though she knew he was attracted to her, maybe he didn't want to move too fast and frighten her off.
Silly thing; she could never run from him now.
They walked for a little while longer, until Mimi was able to see where he was actually taking her. There were tents pitches up and small rides decorating the area. A farris wheel, bumper cards, games situated in little booths that even people with thumbs couldn't win. Smells from routine foods came from everywhere. Hotdogs, burgers, cotton candy- it was all there waiting for them. Even more exotic foods like cockroaches dipped in some kind of candy coating.
She was delighted to find that he would take her to such a great place.
"A fair!" she gasped, "oh, so cool! Let's go look around!"

Good! He had gotten the kind of reaction he was looking for. Though fond of shopping and somewhat vain, he knew Mimi was also the type of person who liked seeing new places and experiencing as much as possible. He had never heard her talk of going to a fair, so he felt it was a good time to try one out on her and see how she liked it.
Though he had gotten the idea of taking her prior to the date clause, and now wondered if maybe he should have gone somewhere more certain to impress her. If this turned out to be something she hated, going back to being just friends might prove the only line of action left to take.
Didn't want that.
"Wait up!" he hooted, leaping after her. Together they ran inside -after paying the entrance fee, of course- and slowed themselves. "Where would you like to go first?" Reggie asked his date.

"I don't know," the elated female hummed in response, "why don't we look around the booths for a while and then see if we can find a game the two of use could actually play? If not, we can go on one of the rides! I want to go on the farris wheel with you tonight."
It was so cheesy it couldn't be anything but romantic.
Two lovers sitting at the top of the farris wheel, watching the sun set with one another through each other's eyes as they gazed longingly into them. Thinking about it made her tummy tighten in anticipation. They needed to make the day go by fast so the night could come and they could have their perfect movie moment!
She moved ahead of Reggie, looking at some of the small shop booths set up to peddle silly knick knacks, all the while smiling about the moment she had dancing in her mind.
