Willow
Willow strutted into the Temeo shop. This place was still new to her so she looked around for someone she had seen before or even met before. Not seeing anyone she knew she went to sit in between the two bookcases on the right side of the room. Small places made her feel a bit better when around new things or new Temeos.

Collins
Collins slowly sauntered into the shop. As a rule he usually did well to avoid the place -finding it always just a tad too crowded for his tastes- but with the hour getting on he figured it wouldn't be so bad this time around. Much to his delight, he was quick to discover his assumption had been a correct one; it seemed there was only one other Temeo in the shop at that time.

A young lady he had never seen before.

"Hello," he greeted lowly, his deep voice almost echoing in the near empty building, "I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you new here?"

Willow
She jumped a bit at the sound of the red tem's voice. She was used to mostly female voices and hadn't heard many male ones, that she could remember anyways."Yes. Quite new actually." She answered. Quick and to the point. "My name is Willow. What's yours?" She was surprising herself, generally she was rude when she first met someone new, but it wasn't that she was rude in general it was just that she didn't know how to act around new tems. She had asked the eldest temeo that she could get to (which was crimson) how to act. Of course Crimson happily obliged and gave her a few pointers on being nice.

Collins
"Collins," replied the male Temeo without skipping a beat, giving a short nod of his head in what he considered a proper greeting, "Tom Collins. It's an honor to meet you Willow." He couldn't help but give her a look over. It wasn't him being an a** and checking her out -not completely, anyway- he was just curious as to the general make up of her frame. After all, he had never seen her before. Why was it wrong to take in a new sight the best he could?

Besides, she was wearing some strange bands he had never seen on a Temeo before. They drew his interest almost instantly.

"What are those you have there?" he asked, raising a paw slightly to point without fingers, "they look very nice, but I don't think I've ever seen any other Temeo wearing them."

Willow
"I don't know really. I just remember that I've always been wearing them, and that they're my favourite colour" She tried her best to smile. It came out as a smirk. She noticed his once over of her and decided to look him over as well. He was a bit fuzzier than most of the Temeos that she'd ever met."How come you're so much furrier than the rest of us?" She didn't see any harm in asking him that. After all he was curious enough to wander over here to talk to her right?

Collins
"Ah, I see. Well, they seem to fit you perfectly," he commented with a light smile, "I'm starting to feel a little under-dressed. Considering, you know, I'm naked."

Laughing in spite of himself, Collins reclined onto his back legs, sitting against the floor as he watched Willow. At her question, he looked down at his body, puffing out his chest to check his fur out.

"Am I furrier?" He asked, "I suppose I was just born that way. I hadn't really noticed before, but you're right. My tail fluff is longer than yours." He wiggled his tails around, looking from them to Willows to check the difference. It seemed an odd conversation to be having, but hey, at least they were talking.

Willow
The blond Temeo laughed. It was a genuine laugh, something she almost never does around new Temeos or anyone really. "You're not naked. You've got all that extra fluff."
She moved a bit closer to him and un-tensed a little bit. This wasn't so bad. "So if anyones practically naked its me." Uh-oh. She couldn't believe she had said that. Now she was hoping for a not so awkward moment. She was prone to awkward moments.

“Hard to argue with that,” Collins agreed, “I am indeed one fluffy Temeo.” He didn’t mind. Though he had never had it brought to his attention before, it wasn’t like being fluffy was a –bad- thing. No need to be self conscious about it. Of course, one would be hard pressed to find something Collins was self conscious about.

He liked himself the way he was.

Laughing at her comment, he gave the likeness of a shrug of his shoulders, watching her with a smile. “Nah. Let’s just call us both normal so neither one of us has to worry, alright? Anyway, how are you liking it here in the shop? Meet any of the other Temeo yet?”

"Okay sounds good." She did her best at a smile, and it actually came out half-decent this time.

"Its fine I guess. I haven't really met too many other Temeo. I know Crimson and Tenchi, But thats because they live with me. Apathy is Crimson's mate so he's around most of the time." She sighed, besides him she hadn't really met too many other Temeo.

"Ah," replied the blood red male thoughtfully, "I only know the Temeo I live with, really. I've never really been into the shop before today, though I've been around for a while. I guess I never really wanted to risk the place being really crowded... I just don't do well in large groups of Temeo." He sighed, tails beating against the ground as he thought about it.

It was true, he really did suck in groups. Mostly because he was always too nervous to talk. When he finally forced something out, it was usually completely inappropriate. Couldn't be helped.

"Maybe it's for the best. I hear some strange things about the Temeo around here."

"I don't do too well in crowds either. Usually I'm pretty rude when it comes to crowds. Ask Tenchi. She gets the nickname Twerp in public." Willow replied.

She had always been like that. As far back as she could remember she had always been rude, to anyone and everyone, but today was different for some reason and she couldn't quite figure out why.

"What do you hear about the other Temeo? The only one I hear about is Apathy. Crimson NEVER stops talking about him." She rolled her eyes as only a sister could. They'd lived together long enough so naturally she called Crimson and Tenchi her sisters.

Collins laughed, agreeing with a nod. “I’m the same. Not on purpose. I just get so awkward I say the wrong thing. It’s not my fault. Well… sometimes it is.” He was glad he wasn’t quite as awkward talking to Willow. At least, he hadn’t said anything that might potentially make her go for his throat.

That was much better than normal for him.

“Oh, I don’t know,” Collins replied thoughtfully, “I suppose just random rumors and such. Like at one time I heard that two young brother Temeo were in love with one another. But I think that resolved itself. Some other Temeo ran away, I believe, but I don’t know the whole story behind that either. I’m really not sure what goes on here half the time. It’s all so dramatic I do my best to stay clear.” He smiled and sighed, watching her again.

“So tell me about your family,” he said lightly, “what are they like? Do you enjoy being with them?”

"Thats wierd." She stated. "How could anyone fall in love with their sibling? I can understand loving a brother as a brother but the other kind of love? Ew." She hoped she wasn't being too catty. She got that way sometimes when it came to her opinions. Especially the ones that she really believed in.

"I expect lots of drama from huge crowds though. Thats why I try to stay out of it. Makes it much easier when your nose isn't smack dab in the middle of it." The black Temeo said, thumping her tails on the floor to a song playing in her head.

Collins nodded. "I thought the same thing," he hummed, "I'm just going to chalk it up to being young and confused, possibly a little stupid That is, if the rumors were true at all."

He frowned, not sure why she hadn't responded to his question. Maybe she didn't like talking about her family and he was stepping on toes now. Wouldn't really surprise him.

"Yeah," he agreed, "though my family is getting so large now I can't really avoid a crowd."

"I doubt they were true. Kazu tells me that things like that fly all around her when she goes to this place called School. She likes to stick her nose in them and get right in the middle of everything." Willow rolled her eyes at the thought of times when Kazu came home crying because of something that had happened at school.

Oh my she thought. Why is he frowning?

Another thing about Willow was that she'd get so caught up in answering one thing that she'd completely forget about anything else

"Whats the frown for? Did I forget something? Say something to offend? If I did I'm sorry." She asked, worried now that she had said something wrong.

"Perhaps you're right," Collins replied, "I just hear all these things from my friend Maureen. She just loves to gossip. I wouldn't be surprised if she just made the whole thing up to freak me out." He sighed. She was certainly one to tease someone just because she could. And she was also the kind of person to figure out the perfect way to get to someone too.

For Collins: strange things freaked him out. Anything he considered unnatural.

"Oh, no!" he assured her quickly with a smile, tails swishing about, "nothing to be sorry about. I thought I had been the one to upset you, actually. I asked you about your family and when you didn't answer I thought it was because I had brought up something you didn't want to talk about."

((Perhaps Maureen is from RENT? *dances to "The Tango Maureen"*))

"I don't know really anything about your friend, but I'd say she's where the rumor started. I learn about that kind of stuff from what Kazu talks about when she's complaining about school." She smiled, a genuine smile this time. "Well If she tries to freak you out tell me and....I'll try to do something to freak her out. Or we could do something to freak her out. Since you know her better." Willow liked getting back at other Temeo who love to just be mean to their fellow species.

"Oh jeeze. I'm sorry. No you didn't bring up anything I don't want to talk about. I can pretty much talk about anything really. I just got so caught up in the whole rumors thing that I completely forgot to answer you." She laughed a little at herself and shook her head.

"I always do it. I guess its one of my drawbacks if you will." She was getting off topic, again.
"So you wanna hear about my family? You got it. First theres Crimson, shes the oldest, and the tallest, since she's an anthro. Crimson is the nicest one of my bunch, I guess it comes with age. Next is Tenchi. She's the clumsy and over apologetic one. I call her Twerp, but she doesn't mind. After her is Kika, she's really quiet. A real wall flower. She really only opens up to her family. And then theres me. The baby of the family."

((So is Tom Collins. XD -shifty eyes-))

Smiling, Collins thought about what would happen if he tried to give Maureen a scare. He wasn't great with pranks, and even with help he wasn't sure he'd be able to pull anything off that would faze her. The female was like a wall- really hard to knock down. She didn't startle easy, which he had to admit was why he got along so well with her. They were like brother and sister, really. She was just the young, more playful sister who liked to pull pranks every now and again.

"Haha, well, we'll have to see how that goes," he mused thoughtfully after a moment, "she'd probably end up getting the both of us before we managed to get anything off on her."

As she apologize, Collins shrugged his shoulders, trying to let her know that it was nothing to be upset about. Now that he understood, he felt silly for ever having thought differently.

"If you call that a drawback you must be more perfect than I thought," he said absently, smiling, "it's nothing to be sorry about. I do stuff like that all the time." And he listened as she started to speak of her family, smiling the whole time. He was in a better mood now that he knew he hadn't made her upset.

"Sounds like a nice family," he said once she was done, "you're the youngest? How cute," he teased lightly.

((I know that.... Kazu <3's RENT *luffles on the cast* I was hoping my school would do it so I could try out for Mimi ))

"I wouldn't know. But if you say she would then yeah probably." Willow tried to think of something that anyone could do to prank her. She couldn't come up with anything right then, so she let it go.

"Perfect? Me? My tails." She laughed. This was odd for her she was never usually this open to a stranger. But Collins seemed different than your average stranger.

"Well what kind of stuff is that?" She asked, simply out of curiosity. She tilted her head slightly to the left.

"Cute!?" She puffed out her chest playfully. "Well what about you? Where are you in your family?"
PostPosted: Mon May 19, 2008 10:30 am

"Missing parts of conversations and such, Collins chuckled, "sometimes I do that too. Along with many other things. Sometimes I tune out completely if someone's talking I don't like, or interrupt with something completely inappropriate. Stuff like that, you know? I wouldn't call any of it a draw back, though." He smiled, feeling a little awkward.

He hadn't meant to call her perfect. He had just been thinking about it and let it slip out.

Sometimes his mouth proved faster than his inhibitions.

"Well, let's see. Roscoe is the oldest, followed by Maureen and then Avast. Mimi and I are the same age, then came Darcy. Kari was next after that, followed by her daughter Buster and we're still waiting on Art to come out of his bottle," he took a breath, "so, I suppose I'm... fourth oldest? Or fifth. I guess you can think of me as a middle child."

He chuckled. "Man, saying it out loud makes me realize just how many people live in that house."

Willow shrugged."Well we all have different personalities." She smiled. "Or else we'd all just act the same and be a rather boring crowd." She thought for a moment. "I can just see it. A hoard of grey Temeo." She shuddered at the thought. She liked being unique in every way.

"At least they're not strangers. So there's no awkward stranger moments."She stood up on all fours and had a cat-like stretch. She didn't really like sitting around for too long.

"Feel like going out for a walk?" She asked, swishing her her tails slightly.
