The cold was seeping in, piercing through clothes and skin. The faster they fell, the colder it got.
The wraith was scurrying, trying to find something to cling to, but pieces of it were already crumbling from the pressure and impact of small debris.
Wherever they were in Mirrorspace, it was
big. The emptiness stretched as far as they could see, and it looked like stars and galaxies were visible--unidentifiable, but
obvious.
Something lit up above them--an explosion.
The Dark Mirror Court had no way to know that it was Archideus exploding above them, spreading a wave of purple and blue light out in every direction. It looked massive, but out of reach. The light reflected off of what appeared to be a giant mirror in the sky, showing them a piece of the universe far away and out of reach to them.
They might have only seen the explosion through the enormous sheet of mirror in the sky, but they
felt it.
The burst of energy rippled across the mirror, passed through it.
Briefly, it felt like a wave of water was swallowing
Hydrus up--and then, like he was passing through it slowly. And then, finally, like it was pushing him
up. He was falling, but it felt like he wasn’t
sinking.
Sansuna managed to latch onto the wraith, albeit briefly; it squirmed away--just in time for wings to manifest behind her. They caught the light easily and weighed next to nothing; the shards looked like mirrors, acted like mirrors. They were small, but maybe she could slow her own fall.
Acubens had a similar set of wings, large and
almost like a Royal’s. Big enough to wrap around herself and
Lacerta if she needed to. Maybe even big enough to carry the both of them.
Tegmine wasn’t alone; it wasn’t
real, but the crystalline face of Nissa reaching out to take his wrist, to hold him, to
slow him, manifested. She looked like she’d been carved from crystal, but her face was kind, for him.
Mirrorspace granted many such comforts.
For
Rana, the sensation of her father’s arms wrapped around her. The shards seemed surprisingly soft, surprisingly
real.
Persephone would feel two little hands squeezing at her own; Mirrorspace manifested mirror copies of her little ones, though they were obviously made from mirrorshards and little crystals.
Quetzacoatl would see the mirrored shapes of her family; they smiled, gently. They took her hand. They helped slow down her fall.
Elsa would see Chione,
feel her reaching to take his hand and slow his fall.
Sappho, the same, only it was Kibirev there for her.
Ariadne would see Misha’s face, close, and if she paid close enough attention she might feel the peck of a kiss on her cheek.
Asuka would have a chance; a mirrored copy of herself, constructed with a thousand tiny little shards appeared before her--at first, a basic senshi. Her appearance rippled--a super. An Eternal. But still, undeniably
her.
Itokawa’s wish was granted--they would survive. He could build a future.
Avignon would get to go home.
Sadalsuud and
Lacerta’s wish to be saved--to
not die here--would be granted. The Dark Mirror Court would be safe and make it out--even if the fate of the strange voice was not so obvious.
Logos might never know if it was the figure talking to them that helped them, but
something did.
Tantalus would be able to go home.
Tsukuyomi would get a chance at vengeance.
Remarque would not be disappointed; Mirrorspace
did still need them.
Morpheus would have more time; he couldn’t see what grabbed him, but a crystalline hand did so with tenderness and care.
Kiuchi would get a blessing from Mirrorspace.
The mirror shattered above them, and the energy shot down, towards them. A million little glass shards danced in the sky, well out of reach. Above the remains of the building they’d arrived in, and growing further away as they fell, only--they stopped.
The power reached them, and it was like they were frozen in space.
For a moment, everything was beautiful.
Power flooded through them, and they had front row seats to the destruction of a comet they knew nothing about. Time stopped and
nothing moved, except for the slow spread of Archideus’ energy, visible threw the shattered glass above. Distorted, but easy enough to make out.
Mirrorspace held them for a moment longer--and then, suddenly, light from the floor swallowed them up.
A large, circular mirror opened up beneath them, and then fell through--gently. Easily.
It was as if they were carried on some gentle wind, and they passed from the dark, expansive space, right into the Common Room they all might have known. One by one, the Dark Mirror Senshi were deposited, and as they passed through the mirror, they lost the blessings Mirrorspace had bestowed upon them. They landed, feet first, in a warmer, more comfortable room.
Every mirror was glowing brightly, and when the last of the Court settled on the ground, the wraith passed--only, when it did so, it shattered into a number of
crystals--clear, with a milky, purple haze swirling inside. Bits of gold shimmered within the purple swirls, like stars caught in a spiraling galaxy. There was more than enough for everyone to take one.
The mirror above them closed--without any sign of the distant voice.
It wasn’t clear what made Mirrorspace abduct the Senshi, but they were free now--they could go home.
They could wonder.

This is the last mule post for the ORP, but you can continue to RP if you want! You do not need to write an exit post; it should be assumed that if you don’t ICly leave within the next hour, you will be evicted through the mirror you were pulled through. Regardless of rank, this is the same for all Dark Mirror Senshi; even Basic Senshi can linger in Mirrorspace for a while, but they cannot leave the Common Room or enter the Throne Room without an escort.
All Dark Mirror Senshi who have written 500 words in this ORP can claim a Strange Energy Crystal; if they did not participate in this ORP but still want to earn a crystal, they can do a
supplemental RP or solo to earn it. Players can also continue roleplaying until they meet wordcount if they have not already. Each character can only claim one at any point in time. These crystals can be buried on a Dark Mirror’s Realm in the
Mirrorscape; a tree of the player’s design will begin to grow and will reach full maturity by mid-December. It can be based on any tree found on Earth and can be no more than thirty feet tall at full height. It may only take a few days for the tree to grow to sprout and grow a few feet, as soon as it does so, Dark Mirror Senshi may find that standing near it will leave them feeling rejuvenated. Injuries will heal quicker and their magic uses will be replenished; they will feel revitalized and as if they have a second wind.
If a Dark Mirror Senshi is not able to claim a Realm yet, they can hold onto this crystal and plant it at a later date. To grow this tree, Dark Mirror Senshi
must have some mention of planting the crystal on their Realm, even if it is just a line referencing it in a roleplay other than the one where it was planted.
