Have Funds Need Slot  Name: Muirgen la Anise
Meaning: Means "born of the sea" in Gaelic. In Irish legend this was the name of a woman (originally named Líban) who was transformed into a mermaid. After 300 years she was brought to shore, baptized, and transformed back into a woman. Also another name for Morgan.
From the English word for the herb, also called aniseed.

Personality: No matter what may come, Muirgen will face it with a confident mind. Everything is for the greater good. If there is an obstacle in her path to happiness, she'll find a solution. That doesn't mean she doesn't feel the let downs of life, it just means she doesn't dwell on the disappointments. She knows she's the only one in control of her life and only she can control her own happiness.
Because of this idealism, she's seen as a happy-go-lucky Alicorn with a good sense of humor. She's firm in her beliefs and more than happy to share her outlook on life with others. She'll try to cheer up others if they're feeling blue, but if they refuse to pull themselves out of their own funk she'll tell them what's-what. The insults and negative attitudes of others slides right off, never effecting her deep down.
History: Muirgen was raised by a very loving family beyond the Soquili lands and blessed to be born as an Alicorn. She grew up as part of a small herd that specialized in the arts of medicine and healing. Even with her small healing ability, she still learned herbalism. Life was peaceful and the world went on.
One day a young stallion came to the herd with his sick mother in hopes the Medicine Herd could heal her. When he wasn't with his mother, we has with Muirgen—since she was close to his age. He was very amiable, a budding friendship that bloomed to love when he stole a kiss late one night. They were eventually lifemated, with the blessing of their parents.
Unfortunately, his mother later passed away. The herd did everything they could, but there was no herb to stop death. He was devastated. His mother was the last of his family. Despair gripped his heart and never let go.
Muirgen loved him unconditionally and stood by him. She honored their vows even as he slowly slipped away.
His death soon followed. It grieved Muirgen that there was nothing she could have done to help him. She sank into her own depression and wandered from her herd.
Her days were blurred with grief. She wasn't sure how much time had passed or where she was. The only thing she knew was that standing before her was an old Unicorn with a smile on her face like she was laughing at her own private joke no one would understand.
The old mare could see the shadow of despair and spent her remaining days spiritually healing Muirgen. She taught her her views of life, helped her regain her appetite and her sense of humor. When Muirgen was deemed healed, the old Unicorn mare passed away. But her death was not grieved for long because she wouldn't have wanted it that way.
Unable to her find her way home, Muirgen traveled to heal those in need. It would be years later that Vidia would block her path seeking to learn the ways of the herbs. She agreed to teach the wounded pale mare her arts, but the more time she spent with her, the more she would see the shadow of her past blanketing the other mare. It was then she decided she would repay an old debt. It was time.
Breeding: ClosedCurrent & Future Plans She will return with Vidia to make sure she is spiritually healing and be a mentor to the pale mare.

Choice Backstory: When the female draft lines were released, I felt I could honor my mother with her favorite horse breed since I had Myrddin made as a tribute to my father. We have a Belgian horse farm 15 miles away that she used to drive passed after work. Unfortunately, she doesn't drive that direction anymore since her work moved her to a different location. I re-used Myrddin's amulet as a sort of mental link between the two in my own head, this time making it silver and using my mother's birthstone (August-Peridot). My mother inherited my grandmother's silver hair as she ages, so I felt I'd immortalize the beauty of it with the mare. The Alicorn breed was chosen because my mother has been quite the saint in the family with a hint of the wild child she was when she was younger. I am more like my mother in many ways, and this Soquili is almost personalized to her completely.
