  So you're turning 21 on July 1st. What do you do to celebrate? ... Obviously, make an art request thread for your B/C shop!  Porcelain is a Breedable/Changing Pets "shop"... which, since it is free, plays more like a campaign setting. Players acquire characters from the Porcelain Empire, an extremely detailed fantasy-medieval setting, and roleplay out their life stories.
For my birthday, I'm hoping to get art of my own Porcelain characters, Setsushi and Rika. Other players from the shop have joined this request thread, too, so there are lots of characters for you to pick from! Because of the shop's detailed biology and backstory, and also because there are so many of us participating in this request thread, please read all the introductory information and rules before proceeding. :3
    The Porcelain backstory is much too huge to reproduce here, so here's an extremely condensed version.
Porcelain are small, delicate humanoids who usually have very pale skin and dark hair and eyes, though coloration varies by region. Externally, they are similar to humans, with some differences: very small noses, no external ears, and a third eyelid that usually sits half-open. The species has a relatively low degree of sexual dimorphism; the Porcelain of the Empire thus signal their sex with makeup and hairstyle. Men wear an odd number of lines of makeup, usually one line, running down from the eye; women wear even numbers of lines of makeup, usually one line running down and one line looping in a circle. Men also tend to wear their hair in ponytails or in buns with an odd number of hairsticks (one or three); women tend to wear their hair in buns with even numbers of hairsticks (two, four, or six.) Young men wear their hair long until they marry, at which time they cut it severely short. Porcelain age slightly faster than humans.
Porcelain live in a relatively benevolent matriarchal society. Women tend to work in bureaucracy, scholarship, and trade; men fill in the middle and lower ranks of the military, the arts, and agriculture. Given that most Porcelain are empathetic, they tend to have a peaceful and gentle nature, and large-scale wars are rare among their people. But the highest-ranking nobles, who can blunt their empathy, squabble over prestige and resources, and send small armies and their favorite Knights against one another as "police action."
Lately, strange magic has been plucking Porcelain from the Empire and bringing them to Gaia. Some, who have lived in Gaia all their lives, follow the mainstream culture here; the newer arrivals struggle to reconcile the strict traditions of their upbringing with the strange customs of this new world.

 How to draw for us!
Skim the profiles and pick a character or couple you like.
Fill out an application form (available below) and post it to the thread.
Make sure to specify under "terms of use" whether you allow or disallow cropping, resizing, use outside of Gaia, etc.
Wait for a reply. Please be patient... but if you find yourself waiting a long time, do PM the person (if the profile says that's OK) or post again in the thread with a permalink to your form.
If you offer is accepted, Imperial Princess Rika will send you a trade for the agreed amount.
When the art is done, please post a watermarked version to the thread (or if you don't do watermarks, just the final version.)
