Deep Space Super Sailor Tianyi HP: 53/75 Location: D8 Action: Indirect damage on boss! Interaction Roll: N/A Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 6 + 6 (Carterhaugh) = 22
For a moment, Tianyi was still among his own flowers, watching in horror as Dagon was yanked into the water. And then they began to fade, and fear clutched his heart.
That's what will happen to you, something within him was certain. If someone as brave as Dagon can be dragged down, you've got no hope. You'll falter and fall, and anyone you ask to help you will die. Because you are a curse.
It was true. In his bones, he knew it.
And yet, there was a moment, a whirl of sea air and roses, and Tianyi felt--
He felt brave. Like maybe he would certainly fail alone, but he wasn't alone.
And so, before, he had healed, but this time, he turned his magic on the great beast before him.
"Crumble," he ordered, with the force of an emperor who expected to be obeyed.
Perhaps it did not collapse immediately, like its little skeletons had. But he had to believe he was doing something. Or else all of this was pointless.

Deep Space Eternal Sailor Dagon HP: 65/100 Location: D2 Action: From Hell's heart, I stab at thee. Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 50 (special damage!) Boss HP: 230/1500
Dagon floated, for a moment that was also an eternity, slowly sinking beneath the waves.
It felt wrong, for it to all end this way. For all the fighting to be so.....pointless. For her to have struggled for a thousand years, only to drown in the seas of her homeworld at the last step.
And yet, perhaps, it was fitting. She had escaped the jaws of death on this world once. It seemed greedy to ask for a second chance.
And yet a second chance was what she got.
She felt something swirl around her, and suddenly, she could breathe clearly, as if she were above the surface, and the scent of sea air was gentle, clear, clean.
And in her heart, she could see her goal.
Her eyes snapped open, and she swam, as hard as she could, for the rocky risen island the temple grew upon, darting under the leviathan's great mass quicker than the Chaos could catch her.
She hauled herself out of the water and onto the temple's shore, and strode forward, dripping water and trailing her own fog as she went. On the altar, below the pulsing, poisoned heart, rested a knife. The sacred blade, with which the first of her name had first slain a leviathan, and then carved out the very heart before her.
She took it up. The fungus itself flared with its sickly light, and foggy tendrisl reached for her, grasping, but she pushed through, driving her knife into the heart and dragging it down.
It was a rare thing, to have clear skies on Dagon. But as the ancient, sacred knife cut into the great, poisoned heart, as vile, black sludge that seemed to contain a million shifting, strange colors flowed from it, the fog cleared.
The leviathan bellowed. Thrashed.
The skeletons crumbled to the ground, and this time, they did not reassemble. The leviathan let out another mighty bellow, and another wave of fog came--and this time, the fungus also seemed to try and assist, to drag the defenders forward and to the water. One last attack.
"Destroy the beast!" Dagon shouted, at the top of her lungs. "Destroy the beast and this world is free!"Quote: See the next post for OOC mechanics! The finale will be posted once the Boss's HP reaches zero! GET EM.

BOSS HP: 230/1500 Please put this header at the top of your post from now on!Character Name and journal link HP: Location: Action: Damage/Healing/Buff Done: Boss HP: (please track this! It will start at 230/1500 and go down with all damage done!) MAP: (Click for fullsize!) Squares should be treated as 5 feet by 5 feet, so please consider that when using magical attacks! COMBAT MECHANICS:Please review this post for dice mechanics! If you have a late blooming or Deep Space Senshi with unstable magic, or a Knight who has unlocked Cosmic Resonance, for one round (either this one or the next one) you may double their roll, once. Characters take 11 dmg from the boss's final attack. All skeletons are now permanently downed; all that's left is to finish off the boss! LOW HP MECHANICS:If your character drops below half health, the fog begins to close in around them, and strange shapes begin to materialize within. The lower your character's HP gets, the clearer the shapes are, and they will always be things that cause characters great terror. If a character hits 0 HP, they are incapacitated by fear and can no longer fight.

Carterhaugh, Squire of Earth HP: 48/75 (accounting for declared Blarney shield!) Location: D9 Action: Buff magic to everyone in D8/D9! Damage/Healing/Buff Done: Everyone in D8/D9 may add 8 to their rolls! Boss HP: 230/1500 (no direct damage done)
Carterhaugh let out a breath of relief, seeing Dagon burst from the water at the shore of the temple. And when her knife made that great, awful heart bleed, and the skeletons collapsed, leaving only their boss--
They'd done it. Well, almsot. One last foe to conquer.
One of his fellow Earth Squires (Blarney) had inspired them all before, and looked ready to protect them again.
This time, Carterhaugh raised his voice as he called on his magic once more.
"We have this! All of us, together!"
Once more, for ruin and the world's ending. Or, in this case, for preventing exactly that.Quote: Carterhaugh concentrates, and their rose glows with a soft golden light. The area around them is filled with the scent of roses, and allies within eight feet of Carterhaugh feel bolder and more virtuous, as if they could face any fears. Carterhaugh can channel for up to 30 seconds at this stage.

Victory, it seemed, was close at hand, Tianyi felt almost silly for his previous despair--he'd nearly given up, in the face of things looking a little difficult. And wasn't that always his problem? He always ran away. He never faced things, never chose.
Well, he was choosing here.
He felt heartened, confident. Focused. And one more time, he stomped on the ground, magic blooming out from him in an unexpectedly powerful burst.
"I said," Tianyi growled, "crumble."
This monster would fall. It would obey him, and under the onslaught of all of the people who came and stood and fought, it would break. He was certain of it.

Joyeuse Garde, Knight of EarthHP: (73 - 11 auto) 62 Location: D8 Action: base magic for boss Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 8 + 10 + 6 buff from Carter Haugh = 24 Whether it was the influence of Carterhaugh's magic, Blarney's speech, or Grieve administering something that was pretty close to a compliment, Joy felt a sudden cheering sense that they were closing in on the end of this mess. She could sort out afterwards how eager she'd be to heed another call to action - for the moment her energies and attention were needed here. "I need about eight showers," she muttered, trying to shoulder her way into a gap big enough to fall back on her whip's usual magic, unwilling to try and get herself in range of an actual attack. "And a strong drink. And some cake. And -" Whatever else she'd been about to say, it was swallowed up in the jostle and chaos, which made her reach back and grab a hold of Grieve's arms quite nearly as hard as Grieve had grabbed a hold of hers, although at least this time it seemed to be a movement born of genuine desire to stay close to something like a friend, rather than retaliation - even if her damaged acrylics were scarcely less punishing than Grieve's blunted claws.

Sailor Alekto of ScreamsHP: (25 - 11 auto) 14 Location: D7 -> E5 (on the boss) Action: last magic FIGHT against boss Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 14 "No one with any sense would want it!" she retorted, half a wail of dismay. If Creedence hadn't been so cat-shaped as to awaken instincts of protectiveness now that she was actually holding her, she might have thrown her bodily at the skeleton monster like a furry grenade. Alekto was not well known for having much sense, however, as evidenced by her running towards danger this time, rather than away from it. With the final effort left in her - which some whispering instinct told her was a muted, sad excuse for the power she could have and had once had - she expended the last of the power in her in the direction of the monster - and then immediately began searching for a route out, although even in her confusion and terror she wasn't quite sure what the escape plan was, stranded, as she was, on some other planet and possibly in some other reality. This was a horrifying prospect. What if their host died? What if they all died except her? Being a final girl was all well and good until your genre was sci-fi post-apocalypse.

DSS Arcalís of AdversityHP: 34 / 50 (half damage from blarney’s shields!) Location: D8. Action: Physical attack on the boss (arcalís used ROCK THROW). Interaction Roll: 7. Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 7 + 8 (Carterhaugh’s buff) = 15 damage. Boss HP: 123 / 1500. “That’s amazing, migadye,” Arcalís told Madriu, glowing with pride at what Madriu had managed to unlock. “You’ll have to tell me all about it later.”
The very idea of Madriu being blessed by his world with new magic thrilled Arcalís, filled him with a sense of hope and renewed possibility. Even with the Chaos that still poisoned both of their worlds, Madriu had found new power on his. His world had blessed him with such a gift, and later, when there was more time for it—and significantly fewer Chaos-powered leviathans—Arcalís wanted to ask Madriu all about the new magic, about how it had come to him, and about how it had helped him so far.
……Probably, this would also happen after both of them rested.
Maybe this wasn’t Arcalís’s first large-scale battle since called to earth—the Calamitous Hollow had claimed that honor, because what was Arcalís supposed to do except join everyone in fighting against such a great beast?—but he could definitely feel himself starting to flag. He hoped very much that the leviathan soon met its end. Fortunately, that seemed to be soon upon them. Whatever Dagon was doing in the temple, the beast’s attacks against everyone seemed so desperate, now. Flailing around, sending the Chaos fungus after them as well as the fog, trying to drag them down because the beast knew that its remaining time was short.
But Arcalís knew too well when he’d exhausted his reserves of magic. He’d crashed headlong into this exact wall so many times over the centuries that he’d spent fighting his own World’s Chaos. Now, he had none left to spend……and yet he couldn’t just do nothing.
The same smell of roses from before returned, and breathing it in deep, Arcalís went with the first idea that came to him. Decently sized rocks littered the beach. Rocks that he could, and did, pick up and hurl toward the leviathan as hard as he could manage.

Eternal Murikabushi of HungerHP: 64 / 100 (half-damage from Blarney’s shields). Location: D8. Action: Attacking the boss (second stage, direct damage). Interaction Roll: 1, 2. Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 3 + 1 (Article of Strength) + 8 (Carterhaugh’s buff) = 22 damage. Boss HP: 101 / 1500. Watching Soyala fling one of the skeletons’ arms over at the beast so soon after hearing her affirm that she wouldn’t allow Chaos to take him back against his will…… That filled Muri’s heart with warmth, and light. The sort of comfort that came from having people to fight with and, more importantly, to fight for.
If he’d wanted to nitpick, he might’ve reassured her that at the very least, he didn’t think they had to worry about that with Remarque. The Mirror Prince didn’t want to force anyone to stay with the Court if they didn’t want to. His and Muri’s different priorities in the great magical girl war notwithstanding, Remarque had been nothing but patient about hearing Muri out and had gone to check on Elsa that night just because Muri had indicated that a Mirror senshi was in crisis. Remarque was good people, not that Muri’s assessment of the man mattered.
(They did still have to worry about the Negaverse, though. Assuming Murikabushi didn’t simply land himself on some kind of “kill on sight” list because no amount of “Look, seriously, I might give Jet sass, but that isn’t personal, I give everybody sass, especially when I like them; I still think that his Negaverse harm reduction tip is Good Actually and want him to have the chance to help other Negas to not be in such bad situations” would cancel out Muri dumping Faustite, whenever the little nightmare decided to make himself apparent again. And like, there was always the promise of transcendence for protection against forced corruption?
But you couldn’t force transcendence. Realistically, Murikabushi’s home-world probably wouldn’t bless a senshi with that strong a bond until the Sailor Murikabushi called Kiyoshi Sakurazawa, nee Reiki Rokugin, had passed on, gotten a starseed bath in the Galaxy Cauldron, and reincarnated. Whatever Grieve said about the reincarnation cycle—though glancing aside at her and the divalicious Earth Knight with whom she was bantering [Joy], Murikabushi filed away a mental note not to annoyingly cheer on Grieve’s ferocious attack, but to annoyingly needle his chosen sister about the gorgeous lady at home later. Maybe it was nothing, but maybe it was something—maybe Grieve and the lady Knight were, y’know, in friends of Marlene with each other?—and Murikabushi wanted to know about it.
Maybe it was distinctly Not His Business………but what were siblings for if not being nosy about things that Weren’t Actually Their Business?)
……Muri’s increasing susceptibility to distraction was a good sign that he was Very Tired.
“I’ll make it through, himesama,” he said to Soyala, heeding Dagon’s advice and throwing another attack toward the leviathan. Part of him wanted to go all out……but another, far more sensible part of him decided that it was okay if he didn’t. He needed to trust everyone else who’d come out here to fight, trust them to do their best and give this their all as well. And, somewhat more personally, he needed to not give Yuki, Elior, and Soyala any cause to confiscate his henshin pen early.
Looking back to Soyala, Murikabushi smiled and added, “Looking forward to getting home for some tea and a good rest after this. But I can make it until then.”
Soyala seemed to be Very Correct that the leviathan was on its last legs. So hopefully, this wouldn’t be much longer.

Character Name and journal link Ibirapitá of ShadeHP: 20/50 Location: C4 Action: Attempting to shield group, failure Interaction Roll: shield backfire Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 11 dmg to boss, 5 to himself (and everyone else in C4) (used 2/3 shields) In this moment, it seemed that they stood a fighting chance. Ibirapitá never trusted moments like this to end up with a roar of a comeback. History had told him that the last hurrah was usually met with slashing and screaming unpredicted. And so, if his magic was working? Perhaps he could shield against the worst. That had been the thought. Had. When Ibirapitá called to his shield again, he yelped. The shield usually did not come with what felt like a twist of the knife to his gut, simply his heart when it had failed; he was feeling that again when he noticed Abzu rub at his arm as if something had just struck him as well. By the moss and little fishes, did it fail again? Of course it did. It missed his notice that in his efforts to protect those around him, he at least helped by striking the Leviathan. All he noticed was that it failed. Again.

Exhaustion clung to him, but he refused to back down. The beast needed everyone to be utterly ruthless. What kind of person would he be if he allowed himself to fail, here and now, at what he hoped was the end of the beast's life? Based on Dagon's declaration, they had to be close. He narrowed his eyes, tracking the leviathan's movements with the gaze of a hunter about to devour his prey. With a guttural scream, he slammed his cane into the ground and sent his magical unicorns forth once more. That had been all the magic he'd been able to spend, but he locked his knees, refusing to fall to the ground. It might've been obvious to anyone looking that he was relying heavily on his cane to stay upright, but nobody would be able to say they'd seen him fall. He wouldn't. Even though his back and legs screamed in protest. He'd remain upright at all costs.

His body felt like it couldn't take it anymore. His stomach twisted, but there was nothing in it for it to evacuate, not after everything he'd already endured, tortured by visions in the fog. His arm trembled as he lifted his shortsword into the air, perhaps for the last time. He felt depleted, but he scraped together enough energy to kept his weapon aloft and call for the magic that stirred within him one final time. As the last dregs of his magic were spent, he collapsed to the ground on his knees, sword stabbed into the soil, and leaned heavily on the hilt, breathing raggedly, vision swimming. His ears rang faintly and he didn't even have the energy to pray that that wouldn't be permanent. He just knelt there, shaking, almost sobbing as he tried to breathe. To stay awake.
