Corrupt Sailor Mab [5 pts]
Like the Cheshire she bore resemblance, Tourmaline seemed to simply appear, her voice coming from the side in assured tones meant for the whole. A more reassuring aside was meant more personally; Mab let out a breath and glanced around instead of at his perfectly manicured nails or the spangles on his costume. The lemon b*****d seemed to meet General Tourmaline's gaze for a moment before sliding towards Lalande and Cursa, some sort of silent understanding passing between ******** insane. All of them. This place is going to eat everyone. "We should just torch it all and sift through the wreckage after. If ******** gears are magical, they'll be fine. Probably."
Pulling a tube of lipstick from subspace, Mab applied it while glancing around at their companions again as a distraction - wait, was that a kitten!? Who brought a kitten to a dumpsterfire like the Rift, even with an escort!? How terrible! And if taking a step into go give the escort a piece of her mind caused her to bump into a captain...well, that just happened. Goblinite could handle being jostled by a senshi - or he wasn't worth the stripes he'd managed to earn and Mab would grind him under her boots like so much dust before the mission was over.
"He's not good enough for you, kitty...."Skye Starrfyre For TourMab, with some TourmAue mentioned

General Leucite [5 Pts] As Amphitrite withdrew, Leucite gave her a nod. "We should talk after this, when you have time." He called to her, giving her a wave. "I think we're of one mind on that." But beyond that, he did not elaborate, having really no desire to raise his voice more than need be - there was likely going to be plenty of time for that once the youma started to attack. "It's not a matter of good idea or not," Leucite replied to his wife in a soothing tone. "Though, you do raise a point, it does feel like we're gathering an awful lot of live bait." He added with a dry chuckle. "But, as it stands, we're assisting the request of a fellow officer - this is their party and they're responsible if it all goes to hell. But, we should at least try to keep as many safe as we can." Couldn't say he wasn't pragmatic about things. "Lieutenant Dravite," Leucite said, turning his attention to the Lieutenant. "If you'd be so kind as to block aside some time after this little foray, I'd love to have a chat." His eyes fell on the cowed and now seemingly cowering Valeria once again, and he refrained from letting out a sigh. He meant no ill will toward the young woman - but he wasn't about to let her cause trouble for the General-Sovereign or anyone else. If she didn't jump when one of them said frog... well... he'd worry about that then.

Captain Wardite [5 Pts] Wardite was relieved to see Piypite join him - he was curious why Leucite hadn't given her orders - but he supposed the man had his reasons - or he was getting distracted by the amount of boot he was trying to fit into his mouth. In either case, he would do the bare minimum that was required of him - and he was glad that Piypite was a bit more free to act. "As you say sir," Wardite said, his smile false and his tone filled with faux cheer. "Ever the thoughtful man, General Leucite." The display between the Corrupt and the General was... interesting to say the least and he was curious how that was going to go down later. In either case - she was definitely shaping up to be a potential ally in the future, provided she wasn't put under the General's heel for her open insubordination. Leucite would have not let that stand. If Ward had tried to pull that stunt - he'd be dead. And so would Piypite, most likely, for spite. His priority was his own skin, then Piypite. Everything else was secondary or tertiary. But... with the new officer showing up, Wardite used that as a screen to take his leave of the General's general vicinity. He slid up on the other side of Hatsya, looking around before casting a wry look at Piypite behind Hatsya's back before clearing his throat. "Forgive me, for intruding ladies," Wardite said in his most charming tone. "But, I'm sure between the two of us," He shot a glace at Piypite. "We can keep most anything that would try to eat you at bay..." Because you will be my prey instead - once you've outlived your usefulness to Piypite and I... He thought with a slight bow of his head to the Corrupt. "I mean no disrespect of course," he added. "But I feel I would be remiss if I did not extend my services to you as well."

Lieutenant Gunningite [5 Pts] Gunningite was relieved when the Captain began to move in the same direction as she was, so she slowed her pace to fall in beside the superior officer, her head moving around on a swivel as she worried her bottom lip as she debated asking a few questions that would reveal how little she'd actually been taught about her role in the Negaverse. "Captain, if I may?" She asked gently. "But those... things...." She motioned in the direction of the half-youma as they milled about. "What are they?" They made her feel - uncomfortable. And the warning about the youma... She lowered her voice. "Are... are we actively employing demons to fight against our invaders?!"

Corrupted Super Kamacite [5 points]
For a moment, Kamacite thought he heard his name among the voices and eerie sounds of the Rift. He paused and cautiously glanced over his shoulder for someone he might know, or someone who might know him, but all he could see was an overwhelming number of unfamiliar faces.
But even if he couldn’t see the face, he thought the voice sounded like --
“Tiberius!” Kamacite squeaked in distress as the gigantic cat leapt to his shoulders, and crumpled to the ground from under the sudden, unexpected weight. He winced in pain as he struggled out from under the boulder of fluff, and was finally able to roll himself over to sit on the ground. Covered in Rift dirt and dust and practically glowing red with embarrassment and anger.
“I am not your play thing,” he hissed through gritted teeth. His hair, loosened from the ponytail in the scuffle, was now falling into his face, and he quickly brushed it back and away, behind his ears. Tiberius may act as though he was completely comfortable around Kamacite, the supportive guardian who looked out for him and helped with his promotion…
Kamacite knew Tiberius would hold it over his head. Any little bit he could use as leverage. He knew the type that Tiberius was, and Kamacite refused to trust him for a second.
“You are fully capable of walking,” he insisted as he pushed himself to his feet, both pleased with himself for scolding the unruly cat, and fearful that Tiberius would remember this slight and do nothing as a youma ripped Kamacite apart.

General Jet [5 points]
Jet didn’t like the idea of Rigel going off with Carnelian, but if they split up they would definitely be able to cover more ground faster. The sooner the mission was over, the sooner the Negaverse senshi could get out. Or so he told himself.
“I haven’t heard information on others like her. Apparently that happened to her when she proved her loyalty or something,” Jet mumbled to Seraphinite, frowning as he looked from his friend then to Gadolinite. Hazel eyes lingered on the dark haired senshi, feeling uneasy as he imagined Gadolinite with cracks all over him, and an expression of one who cared for nothing but the Negaverse.
Seraphinite wasn’t wrong to describe the corrupted senshi as a doll.
“Good. And that’s an order. You’re not to be used as bait and if anyone tries to tell you otherwise, they’ll have me to deal with,” he promised, hand gripping tight around the pole of his weapon.
“Do either of you know anything about the other? Haumea? Maybe his magic or his role in the Negaverse when not on missions like this?” he asked quietly to Seraphinite and Gadolinite. For now he kept his mouth shut, but he wished they would have all had a chance to discuss what was on the maps. Maybe as a group they could figure out the clues and risk fewer lives.
“I feel like we’re going into this blind. I don’t like it,” he grumbled. “Something about this doesn’t sit well with me…”

Lt. DraviteFor the better part of the conversations going on Dravite had remained silent, observant of the nuances in facial expressions and body language of those gathered around. While he remained painfully aware of his rank it seemed that there were some viewed even lower than himself. THe social structure of the Negaverse was a curious thing that brought up numerous questions that, for now, were best left for another day. Dravite quickly snapped back to attention when General Leucite spoke his name. “Yes Sir. When all of this is over let me know what time best suits you and I will make plans accordingly.” Considering the one responsible for recruiting him was also a superior officer in the military, it would be very easy to approach him an request a leave of absence if times conflicted with his duty on base.

Corrupt Sailor MeridianaBeside him Meridiana let out a bit of an undignified snort, not a sound she was known to make but his sarcasm had caught her off guard for a moment though. “Glad to see your sense of humor is still in tact.” She poked him in the side teasingly as they walked towards their temporary teammates, completely forgetting about the two captains she had been conversing with prior to Arabia’s arrival. Sirene Naiads Fin here, moving to the other thread.

[FINALE] Members from each of the groups slowly begin to file back into the tower courtyard where several other Negaverse agents (watched over by a group of guardian cats) had already been awaiting the expedition's return. It had been a long day, but worth it, since each leader and their team members had managed to recover a crystalline gear. With the day largely marked as a success, everyone was counting on a quick debriefing before being sent home to get on with their lives.
The heads of each expedition group were the last to approach the bridge, with the few agents that had remained behind in tow. They were visible at the far side of the passage for just a moment before the Ascendant General froze mid step. One hand shot out to her side mechanically to alert the rest of those with her to halt, and almost immediately, the bridge began to rumble violently. Only a few seconds passed before the shivering created large, deep fissures through the crystallized structure and in the span of a few breaths, it shattered to pieces.
Dust and debris swirled through the air in gritty clouds as bits of stone and crystal sank below into the crevice left behind by a once abundant river. Amidst the shrouded wreckage, a large, dark figure rose up from beneath the surface level where the bridge once stood and, as the dust finally settled at the feet of those assembled, it became apparent that there would be one last battle. On the far side of the river, the leaders were blocked entirely from view by what remained of the bridge and large pieces of the crystal river that had been so violently uprooted.
Immediately, a command came through the tablet communicators:
“Defend the tower,” Alkaid’s voice was urgent and clear, “we’ll have to find another way across the river. Hold out until we can get to you.” Then the tablets go quiet and the group gathered in the courtyard was left alone with nothing but their own intuition to guide them.
_
The youma is a wicked, ugly thing: half troll, half toad. It's back is lined with random crystal growths from where it spent hundreds upon hundreds of years hibernating beneath the surface of the river, merged with the environment that had created and corrupted it. The skin that isn’t covered by the jagged, purple spikes is mottled and green, with what look like open pores around its jawline and cheeks. A nasty, black gas leaked from this area of the beast and, with a gurgling roar, it released the first of its attacks upon the crowd sprawled before it: large, billowing gas streams.
These streams poured out as it leaned over the edge of the courtyard, knocking down the old wooden Portunus sign and spraying the fumes into the crowd, hitting several unfortunate soldiers directly. However, as it knelt, the most observant members of the group were able to see something embedded in its forehead: one last, glimmering crystalline gear.
_
[THE BATTLE] Welcome to the end!
Your character’s goal in this battle is to attack what remains of the original Tower Keeper: the toadtroll youma. Attacks against the crystal growth that holds the remaining gear will do the most damage and eventually break it free, eliminating the youma threat.
IF YOUR CHARACTER IS DISPOSABLE, they have been hit by the first cloud of poison gas! With each round, they will get sicker and sicker, until they succumb and die at the end. Sorry! If you want to write their death as an rp post, you can have them die of the poison or get smashed to pieces during an attack near the end, whatever you wish. Just note that they must die and will be assumed dead even if you do not write an RP post. The Dice System Each ‘attack’ post requires a MINIMUM of two, and MAXIMUM of three six-sided dice - players may roll and then go back to edit their posts with the appropriate response if they wish.
[1] First die = Hit or Miss Even number = Hit Odd number = Miss
[2] Second die = Base Damage (Obsolete if they roll odd on the first die) Number rolled is base damage dealt
[3] (Optional) Third die = Damage or Crit chance (Obsolete if they roll odd on the first die) 1 = Your character takes damage. Your damage for this roll is halved (1 = .5, 2 = 1, 3 = 1.5, etc) & you may not roll the crit dice on the next attack. 2 - 5 = No effect 6 = Crit! 2x base damage (1 damage = 2, 5 damage = 10)
The optional third die represents the character attacking from a closer range, which is riskier but with higher reward. * Points for the finale battle correlate directly to the damage dealt, crit damage included. Maximum points from a single attack is 12 if you go for the crit roll, which makes it highly beneficial. * Characters may attack once every 4 hours, with a maximum of 12 attacks! (Even if I am super late closing this thread, you may not roll more than 12 times.) * Players will be responsible for keeping track of their character’s score in each post.
So let’s get started!
Decide how many dice you want to roll and make a post - then edit your post with the following form and keep it updated for each new attack. You may also include an rp post if you wish, but it is not necessary. DO NOT delete your rolls, or you will be disqualified!
Attack 1 Time (zone), Date; Points (write 0 if you missed the crystal) Attack 2 Time (zone), Date; Points Attack 3 Time (zone), Date; Points Attack 4 Time (zone), Date; Points (Add attacks 5 - 12 in the same format)
Corrupted Super Sailor Noctua -- 30 ptsNoctua had been silent for much of the journey back to the courtyard. The exertion of battle on her already naturally depleted energy reserves had made even the idea of conversation absurd, but beyond that, there was simply nothing to say. Nothing that was at all worth it. What would she even offer Chrysocolla? for what it's worth, I'm proud of you? What would that be worth to her? She didn't owe Noctua anything, didn't align any allegiance to her in any way, duty-bound or otherwise. Even if she desperately wanted to say something. they had been teammates at one time, even if Noctua had taken that for granted... "You did... well..." came her halting and awkward statement. Not at all what she had planned, and somehow growing worse the longer it hung in the air between them. Noctua kept her eyes glued to the space in front of her, refusing to look at the look to annoyance that would doubtless be crossing Chrysocolla's features in response. She should fix this. Say what she wanted to say. Try and explain what she had meant, that Chrysocolla in no way needed or maybe wanted Noctua's sentiments but Noctua wanted to offer them all the same. That she was sorry for taking their connection for granted the first time. That she wanted to try and forge the connection again. Just as she opened her mouth, however, a tremor stole her voice. All at once, chaos broke loose against and Noctua nearly toppled over with the force of it's arrival. Of course it wasn't over. It was never that easy... not that the tavern keeper had been easy by any means, but not necessarily the worst of what they had ever faced. Still, Noctua's bones hurt more than she cared to let on and all she wanted to do was go home and stretch out her aching joints with a long, calming yoga session. But the universe didn't care what Noctua wanted, and Noctua had to push the ache from her body and tamp it down to deal with this... thing. This thing with a gearNoctua's breathing caught in her throat as she noticed the gear in the creature's forehead and immediately began looking for something to throw... maybe she could knock it loose. She lobbed a crystal and missed entirely, of course. Corrupted Super Sailor Gadolinite { 21 pts }
He had gone from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. Small youmas were one thing, but larger ones - ones that were, actually, the sort that could eat you in one swallow, were a different story altogether. Jet had warned Gadolinite about the dangers of the Rift for senshi, and while Gadolinite had taken the warnings seriously, he had possibly taken for granted the sheer depth of them overall.
His fingers pulled back the invisible bow again, white magic spurring around his fingers, a vivid purple spreading out and glowing brightly.
"Vell," he murmured, half to himself, half to his general. "This is not good."ATTACK RESULTS Attack 1 11:50AM - Wed 11/28/18 (4 pts) Attack 2 Attack 3 Attack 4

General ArsenopyriteArseno had made it back with the rest of them, and was looking for either Benitoite or Leucite to go and talk to about what had happened. He didn't get the opportunity though, as he was looking around for them, he heard a noise, and turned around to where the bridge was. Or at least, where it once was. Now there was some disgusting youma that seemed to be guarding the tower and it had finally awoken. Of course it couldn't have been as simple as climbing the tower, and perhaps there was something even worse inside of it. Either way, it had to be dealt with. Arseno gripped his pick and swung it as hard as he could at the youma, hoping to make a hit. And it did, though whether it made any difference was another question. GeocroniteGeo had trudged back with the others, still cradling his hurt hand, which had been damaged even more in the last battle, hoping that they were done at this point. Or if there was more to be done, he could just get a General to take him out of here. But alas, it was not as he hoped as yet another youma appeared, this time destroying the only way, known so far, to the tower. Geo sighed, really regretting that he had now gone into all of this. But the faster that the monster was taken down, the sooner he could get done with all of this. He summoned his weapon once again, but this time used it to throw at the youma, refusing to go close to it again in case his hand would be hurt beyond repair.
