There had been less than a week’s warning: all available personnel were needed in the rift for a reconnaissance mission, at a place the message had simply called ‘The Broken Tower’. Directions had been given, though anyone familiar with the rift knew how difficult navigating the corrupt landscape actually was. The walk to get to the tower was a long one, stretching through what seemed like an endless, barren desert of crystal and charred earth, but one by one the soldiers of the Negaverse found the broken, stone pathway and filed into the courtyard surrounding the forgotten relic with the rest of the team gathered for this peculiar summons.

Like many things found in the rift, the dark crystal that announced Metallia’s domain sprawled like a parasite through the flagstones beneath the soles of the soldiers’ feet and engulfed most of the architecture they could see. The tower itself was half consumed but the doorway leading inside, though once shut and locked against intrusion, had been opened and cleared enough for someone’s passage.

Directly across the courtyard from where they entered was an old archway, guarding what had once been a stone bridge. It too had been devoured by crystal, leaving only a narrow pathway down the center, through which the soldiers would have to eventually walk single file if they wanted to reach the village just visible on the far side. Hanging askew from the arch was an old wooden sign, aged so poorly that the letters were barely legible, though straining eyes would just be able to make out the name - Portunus.

For now, they had been instructed to remain at the tower and await their orders.

General Leucite

The summons, while unexpected, had not been an unwelcome distraction for the General - who actually found the Rift to be a calm and soothing place. Dangerous for the unwary - but he had faced the crucible and he had come out stronger for it. To that end, the had gone to where the communication had directed him, and now he stood before the tower, waiting for further instruction.

The fact that there lay civilization within the Rift was.... a curiosity he would love to further explore, but he was a good and loyal solider first and foremost, so that curiosity would have to wait.

He stood, weapon summoned, resting the haft against his shoulder as he stood at easy parade rest. He did not go into the Rift unarmed - too many things about that would strike at the defenseless, no matter how close they were to the gate.

He knew his wife, General Stibnite, would be along directly, as he had passed her on the way out of the office to answer the summons just as she had been coming in to finish up some admin work. The two captains however - he had dragged along to ensure that they would not dodge their duty as sworn officers - so he kept them in sight.

--

Captain Wardite

He'd be more mad about being dragged back into the Rift if it weren't for the fact that they would doubtlessly not be alone in this misadventure. The General had dragged him and Piypite away from their routine - back into the Rift (which in his experience with Leucite, meant an unspoken death sentence), and marched all the way to this strange tower that he had NO idea what was about. He'd seen the summons - yeah - he'd been planning to just ignore it and go about his business but he'd been dragged out to this... place.

But maybe there would be an opportunity here to enact some sweet revenge against the man who'd once dragged him into this place to die. After all - the Rift was dangerous, and accidents happened. He stuck close to Piypite though, looking around as he grunted in bored disinterest. So it was a tower - and there were lots of crystals... Riiight.

---

Lieutenant Gunningite

She'd been almost too shy to ask for a lift to Negaspace from a higher ranking officer - but she'd managed to make it. She looked forward to the day when it would no longer be a necessity - that way she wouldn't have to bother anyone. But she steeled herself and allowed the mental image of Commissar Lain to fill her mind. She had no time to be timid. They had a mission.

Of course, she kept to herself for now, shaking the magic 8-ball she'd discovered came with the nice uniform she'd been given when she'd taken up the mantle of a Negaverse Officer.

"Are we going to find treasure?" She asked the ball, before turning it to look at the window.

Eternal Adamantine

Adamantine didn't like to answer calls that weren't from her general itself, but considering that it dealt with the rift and the last time she had been in the place had been with Alkaid, she found herself answering its call. She did not come alone though, as she trusted very few of the negaverse agents as well.

With her was one of the generals....friends. She had met Amphi on a recon mission once before, and it seemed fitting to travel with the woman again. They knew each other and their styles.

Added to their party was her very own guardian cat. While they were bonded as Senshi and Cat, Silk was very much Laby and the wolfpacks. A small hand came up to the kitten's head, currently resting on her shoulder as it was the safest, and she was not sure how this tower would react to the large aura a kitten could put out.

"It's a shame Alkaid isn't here...." Ada's voice was low as she spoke to Amphi, "Or the General."

Guardian Silk

Silk was pretty pumped. He'd never been out on a full on mission before. On top of that, he got to be paired up with his girl. Really, the day just couldn't get any better. Possibly adventure (hopefully) and Adamantine. Like the amazing Guardian he was, he was going to keep an eye out on her---oh...and that other one, too, he guessed.

Gold eyes peered at the accompanying eternal curiously. He'd seen her around the manor a bit...heard about her really. Amphitrite was something of a big deal, and he was eager to see why. The kitten leaned into the touch of Adamantine's hand from where he loafed on her shoulder, head tilting as he listened to her low voice as she conversed.

"But we'll report back to him!" Silk said eagerly. "We'll tell him all the details!"

General Stibnite
Stibnite had only arched and eyebrow as she watched Leucite exit his office headed to God only knew where. Brushing it off as another one of his abilities to avoid the less enjoyable side of being a General, Stibnite headed to her own office only to stop short of the door when the summons came. While she was glad to have a heads up this time, Stibnite had to wonder how people kept getting away with last minute 'requests' as they were.

With a long breath, Stibnite took out her tablet and shot a message not in response to the summons but towards the Lieutenant who was her charge. Such an unexpected trip into the rift, she believed, was something Dravite could use the exposure to. It would not only teach him much but also put him in action with many others that he may not have met before.

With the message sent, Stibnite sat at her desk for the response only teleporting out once she had received it. Teleporting back into Negaspace, fair closer to the door to the rift only once she had picked up Dravite.

"Until we meet up with anyone else answering the summons, stick near me. The Rift is not the kindest of locations and wandering her alone, as a lieutenant at least, is not advised. Also, teleportation does not work her so should we get into trouble, our own speed and brain is all we can depend on." That was Stibnite's only warning as they set off to the location pinged to them.

By the time the arrived at the location, Stibnite had to let out a long whistle, coming up behind her husband that appeared to be watching over the pair of demons in their charge as well.

"Leucite, Lieutenant Dravite. The man I told you I had been asked to over see." She spoke, the words blank as she took in the tower and surroundings. "Dravite, General Leucite. My commanding officer....and husband." She added the last bit as an afterthought. It wasn't completely important information but it was something she wanted the young man to understand if and when he saw her defer to him for leadership and guidance....also if Dravite witnessed one of their eye rolling moments.
---
Captain Piypite
Grumbling aside, it didn't appear as if they were getting 'abandoned' this time. After all, Leucite seemed unprepared to stay for days and way too at easy. Even his shoulders seemed...different. More ready for battle than death.

Still she kept her distance, several paces behind like a good 'girl', only eying Wardite every now and then as if unspokenly agreeing that if the change arose, Leucite was going off a cliff.

It didn't as Stibnite and another man appeared. "Oh...He's cute..." Piypite cooed out at the Lieutenant following behind. "Looks like wifey has been playing the field."

Corrupt Sailor Arabia
The summons had been...odd. Something as a corrupt Arabia never would have expected. So he stood there, looking awkward with his long hair as he scanned faces. He was looking for someone, anyone he might know or at least someone who didn't seem like they were going to bit his face off.

That thought made him look at the pair of agents that appeared half monster. Yea, he was staying away from them.

There was another pair of corrupts, and a cat? Guardian cat he assumed. Neither face he knew.

Just as he debated going up to the two women and asking how they had made it to eternals without going mad, he was pretty sure he saw a lovely faced woman arrive and smiled.

Lieutenant Alabaster

He had never been to the Rift before.

Not that he'd ever want to go to the Rift. In fact, he was relatively certain that he absolutely, one thousand percent did not want to go into the Rift, whatever that even was. Alabaster had heard too much about the place - about how it was where youmas ate you inch by inch and how you should never wander alone for fear of falling into an endless pit.

Or something to that effect. He'd only been half paying attention.

Besides the very obvious keep out sign that was hypothetically stapled to the Hall of Shadows, Alabaster liked both his hair and his uniform; he didn't want to see either come to any harm. But at the same time, he also didn't want to be ignorant of whatever was happening in the Negaverse, so really, it was a toss up which would be the less appealing option, because the last thing Alabaster wanted was to look foolish.

So here he was, putting both hair and uniform in potential dire straits, staring up at a tower that looked as if it was in dire need of power washing. And possibly an exterminator. Alabaster gave it a one eyed, narrow look, debating whether or not it was in imminent danger of toppling over, then finally slowly inched his way forward with all the attitude of a lawyer about to take a case pro bono.

He'd already had his cane summoned. He thought he looked quite dashing with it, quite honestly if he did say so himself.

Captain Reinerite

Whilst she had had a few plans for a small break away from the city, there was no way that she would turn down a Negaverse summons–

Which was how she had come to find herself making her way through the Rift as Reinerite instead on the planned trip as Ashley, having rescheduled said trip to some point in the (currently vague) future.

The trek was not a short one, but Reinerite liked to think that whilst she hadn't been the first that she also certainly wasn't the last as the desert-like surroundings of charred crystal and earth eventually gave way to a broken stone pathway which had led to, well, here.

She glanced coolly around the courtyard, as she held the snow globe-topped staff that was her weapon in her hand because it would have been beyond foolish to walk across the Rift unarmed, her grey eyes taking her surroundings and those already gathered there both.

Lt. Dravite

Dravite stood up straight, shoulders square, and with a great deal of respect saluted the other General. “Sir!” While he knew that a good majority of the officers in the Negaverse had next to no military background but offering to simply shake his hand felt far too formal when the General very clearly out ranked him.

With the exception of the most recent event back in October regarding the breaking at his home, his relationship with Stibnite had been strictly business; family and home life were kept separate. And while he had no reason to be surprised that she was married Dravite couldn’t help but wonder how exactly these two met.

Corrupt Sailor Meridiana

Meridiana, on her part, had been chatting away with two lieutenants. Well, more like letting them chat while she in turn listened with a few intermediate mmhmm-ing sounds of acknowledgement so they believed she was at least listening with a random “Oh really?” thrown in when they got really animated about whatever topic they were on.

It lasted a whole of four minutes before she caught sight of those familiar violet colored eyes and luxuriously long lavender hair. “Hold that thought.” She lifted a finger as if requesting but a minute then she’ll be back, Meridiana smiled at the two agents then walked away.

As she closed the distance between herself and her fellow corrupt she stopped just shy of arm's length. One elegant brow raised, Meridiana crossed her arms in front of her chest then shifted her full weight onto her left leg in a very almost sassy kind of stance that left little room for doubt as to what was going through her mind. “Really? Just couldn’t stay home and take it easy could you?”

General Benitoite.

He'd been, like some others here, working on things in his office when the call had come in. It wasn't expected but he'd make time for it, paperwork could wait, his help was apparently needed along with any other available officer. He certainly didn't need to be told twice, those sorts of things meant something big was going down, and he figured he might as well help as well...

Ashe was leaving his office he did something he rarely ever did, he wasn't much for taking away the free will of his officers and team members. This one however...she wasn't one to come on her own, she still rather disliked him, but he hadn't seen her involved in anything for a rather long time. It was time she joined in on something and was active, even if it meant she might try and beat him later - he'd like to see her try.

Focusing on the particular corrupt he wanted to summon, knowing he'd be yelled at by her for it later, he really would have to keep her in check during this mission. He couldn't have her acting out, like usual, around others...it would look bad. He did admire her attitude though...if only she could focus it on the other side though...that would be nice, and proper.

Standing there, hoping his summon for her worked, he knew they needed to get down there rather quickly so once she did turn up he didn't bother in giving her time in yelling, or hitting him, he grabbed her hand and started to lead her off. "You need me where we're going - it's unsafe for corrupted senshi. All available agents are needed for something and it's been a terribly long time since I've seen you participate in anything. This seems an adequate time to change that." His way of silently threatening her to behave...or he'd leave her...and that she needed to stay with him - it was dangerous. He hoped she got the message.

While heading down the hallway he heard a rather familiar voice, rather snobbish and loud. "Katya...I wasn't aware you were down here." Someone else had to have brought her down, at some point, because he hadn't. "Come on then, I'll carry you so we can move a bit quicker." And so he could best ensure her safety, he didn't fancy the idea of anything happening to his guardian cat. She was precious to him.

Shanyume
I hope you don't mind him just dragging her off.

Natsuko-neko
You have officers...Beni's cousin and Hunt. Let's get their butts in here.

She's been rather busy in the domain of the guardian cats when she'd heard the call for help, put out by whom she didn't know, and after a moments debate over which to do - remain here or go and help - she had decided to leave her chair and go to help and see just what was going on. There was no doubt in her mind that it would be informational and important that she be there, who knows what she could learn and how it may help in the future. So running down hallways she had made her way towards her Generals office, hoping no youma tried to stop her on her way. She knew he was here, had been for a while, but he didn't know she was here so he might just leave without her!

As she came down the hall towards his office she did indeed spot him..and someone else - she knew her! Oh it had been a long time! "Were you going to leave without me? No summons for me?" She questioned him while making her approach at a much slower pace.

"That's fine. Getting down there faster would be best for us all." She said nodding her head and made to climb up onto her General and curl around his shoulders. "This is better, it leaves you one hand free." And he couldn't really carry her with one hand, not without dropping her, since his other hand was busy with the corrupted senshi he had brought with him.

General Arsenopyrite

The summons had been a surprise, but Arseno gladly accepted it. He needed a break from his classes, and if this led to getting rid of some of the stress from classes, then he would be glad for the mission. However he had to settle everything he went, just in case he didn't make it back, but Stacey had told him that she would take care of everything and he was off.

It seemed though that he wasn't the first one here, though that wasn't surprising. After all he hadn't answered right away, but he was glad that so many were here. If it allowed him to learn more about the Negaverse and the Rift then that was an added bonus. It had taken him a while to walk to the meeting point, but he had needed the exercise. It had been surprisingly peaceful, though he hadn't been alone.

It seemed that there were a couple of lieutenants who were in need of a helping hand to get them there, though he could tell that one of them wasn't as enthused as the other who seemed to be extremely excited. He wondered if the dark red one had been forced into this. It wouldn't be the first time. "Both of you will need to be with someone of a higher rank the entire time. The rift is not some place for lieutenants to wander around in." He said to both as they traveled down. Though as soon as they were there, the red-head bounded off elsewhere and Arseno only sighed.

Lieutenant Geocronite

Something had been hanging around in the back of his mind, and he wasn't sure what it was. He could have sworn that there was nothing there but... it felt like his body was out of control when it came to Negaverse things. He knew he had control over it, but it seemed as though it was... easier? He knew nothing had been implanted, he had read about those horrible youmaglia and knew that it hadn't been done to him. And yet...

So when the summons came he had signed up for it. He didn't want to do it, but Stellerite would be on his case otherwise, and if he managed to die here then at least he would be dead and not with the Negaverse anymore. Right? They didn't have necromany on their side did they?

However he and another lieutenant had expressed that they had no way to get there on their own through the communications channel, and so one of the Generals had volunteered to get them. Geo and the other lieutenant met up together since it would have been harder for the General to get both from two different locations. Geo would have said something but the other lieutenant, Chambersite, seemed excited and had been talking practically non-stop about the special "mission" they were about to go on. It made Geo a bit sick.

The General had gotten there on time and they quickly made it to the Negaverse and the Rift and they had taken a walk down there, with almost no conversation between the three of them. He could see the General looking back once in a while at the both of them, but the other didn't say anything. Geo wondered what the General thought of him, if he could see that he didn't want to be here...

Soon enough they were with the others and Geo sighed. "Hopefully we can get this done quickly." He muttered to himself, looking at all of the unfamiliar faces. Too many that might be willing to throw him under the bus if there was anything to happen, or at least that's what he though.

Quote:
Geocronite is open for interaction!

Lieutenant Chambersite

Chambersite had been a willing corruption into the Negaverse and while he hadn't been able to do much since he was corrupted, he was very happy to go on this mission! He still didn't know too much about everything, but already he was happy with all of it. However, he felt a bit put-off that he couldn't go to the Rift himself, he had to rely on others to get him there. It was a bit ridiculous that lieutenants wee so weak, but that just meant that he had to work as hard as possible to get to Captain and then General so that he could do what he wanted rather than being stuck under another's thumb.

However, there was a way to contact others and after sending a message asking for help and finding that another lieutenant needed it also, a General had come to get them.

Chambersite didn't care about the General, and in fact pretty much ignored him as he looked around the Negaspace as they traveled to the outer parts of it called the Rift. Or at least that's what he had learned, and as soon as he had been able, he broke off from his group to take a good look at the others. He didn't recognize any faces of course, but he did like to see what the others looked like. He was more interested in his surroundings though, and summoned his little toy turnip "weapon" to toss around for a bit while they all waited.

General King Zinkenite

He’d arched an eyebrow at the summons, more at the where of it than receiving it at all. It raised more questions than anything else, if only because he was still trying to discover all the details of what he had missed in his time away.

If nothing else the whole affair should be, interesting. Not that interesting wasn’t at times, a hazard but interesting at this moment was a welcome break from feeling a bit, well, outmoded.

He sent a brief message to find out whom else he currently knew whom might also have received the call and invited them to follow before setting off.

It was more when he reached there that he looked for familiar faces rather than taking in anyone whom would be heading in that same direction.

He walked with fair directness towards Stibnite and Leucite and gave them a small nod of acknowledgement, taking in others he knew as well and giving them a similar inclination of the head.
“Officers.” He said by means of greeting, because he wasn’t sure that he knew the officer that they were with.

He shifted his gaze for a moment, frowning when he didn’t immediately see the particular Senshi he was looking for, but taking it that she’d be right behind him before turning back and apologizing for his distraction.

“Pardon, I’m familiar with the Generals, but not you Lieutenant. I am Zinkenite.”

A glance at the pair of, well... not quite Youma,- eerily reminiscent of Tanzanite in his mind - that stood near Leucite gave him a moment's pause as well but he nodded to them as well and added.
"I have not met you either I fear." He added.

General Leucite

The salute was returned with a an equally sharp one in reply - though it was hardly perfect, mastery through observation than actual drill, but the General knew his way around military protocol.

"As you were," He said with a warm nod of his head. "Thank you for the introduction Stibnite, it's always a pleasure to meet a new face."

As his wife revealed their relationship he bowed his head again in acknowledgement.

When Zinkenite arrived, it was Leucite's turn to go to attention and bow slightly, his hand on his chest in an informal salute.

"Lord-General, you honor us with your presence, as always," He said with a slight grin before he rose back to full height. He would not let protocol or proper decorum go. He watched Zink look over the two terrors as well with a slight nod of his head.

"My apologies," He said to Zink. "My manners are slipping. These are Captain Wardite and Piypite, they're half-youma that have recently come under my command."

---
Captain Wardite

You mean that you recently inadvertently created by leaving us out here to die, a*****e... Wardite thought bitterly, but turned to the General-King with a bow of his head in as much politeness as he could muster.

"Your lordship," He said, his irish accent thick as he spoke. "If this one can be of any service, please let me know."

Kissing up to nobility - sometimes it got you places, other times it got you screwed. Wardite was willing to risk it if it gave him an edge over Sir-Preaches-A-Lot.
---
Lieutenant Gunningite

As more and more people began to show up, the more and more difficult it became for Gunningite to not try and blend into the stonework around them. She stayed where she'd been standing - off to the side and out of the way - and listened to the conversations around her, all the while shaking the magic 8-ball and asking it quiet questions.

"Are we going to have an adventure?"

Signs point to, yes!

"Are we going to get hurt?"

Reply Hazy, Ask Again Later...

She frowned and shook it a few more times, before just holding it in both her hands and looking around. Somebody had just said it was dangerous for Lieutenants to be alone in the Rift - but she didn't know anyone and she was also not sure who she should hang out with.

This was WAY worse than school!

She chewed her bottom lip. "What would Lain do..." She muttered to herself, trying to get back into the mindset of her Commissar persona. What would Lain do...

General Stibnite

If Dravite could have done anything more to earn Leucite's respect, it would have been to show him the military cards she knew he had. Her husband had been expected to join the military as a young boy. Expected...and quickly ran from. But that didn't change the fact that he understood and practiced quite a bit of military prodidcal.

Now if he would just clean up his desk.

But before she could add more, a familiar presence joined them. Stibnite's response to the General King was little more than a pleasant smile and simple nod. He the politics to others after all. She wasn't there to play games.

"Before you go copying General Leucite in calling him Lord General," Stibnite offered, shaking her head at her husband. "Zinkenite is what we refer to as a General King. One whose power is surpassed only by our Queen and Metalia herself." She offered the words as a clarity in understanding to the Lieutenant at their side, though her eyes remained on Zinks. "He has only recently re-joined us though I can say I believe you will find him to be a very valuable ally. Should anything happen to me and you need assistance quickly, these two men are who I would recommend you to contact."

"And those two, demons, are Wardite and Piypite." Stibnite offered, glancing over at the pair who appeared to be in a mix of throwing themselves at the feet of the General King or mentally undressing her Lieutenant. "Technically Half Youma Captains." There was no missing the spite in her words as she spoke.
---

Captain Piypite

Oh he even sounded handsome as well! Piy couldn't help it as she heard the single word come from Dravite's mouth. It made her own curl up into a smile. Now if she could just get him away from momma wolf...

Piy's thoughts though were cut short at the presence of another she had never met. This one though, she felt aw not because he was hot but because of the power he admitted.

Even jack-a** Leucite was standing in attention for him. Whoever the man was must have been important. Important was good!

Important meant a possible way out.

Giving him a fake curtsy, Piypite offered "Sir. Captain Piypite at your service. Anything you may need, please do not hesitate to ask." Her eyes flickered up in a very suggestive way "Anything at all."
---

Corrupt Sailor Arabia

Both of his arms came out to the side in a rather at ease shrug. Arabia could only smile. "Good to see you too Meridiana. You didn't expect me to just sit at home and stare at the ceiling now did you? I can only count the popcorn on it so many times after all."

"Not when you are out here flirting with all the new recruits." He leaned his head over slightly to see the pair glancing at him with that lovely look of 'hey!'. Oh he knew it well but it had never bothered him. Only thing he used to worry about was possible boyfriends. Now, he didn't even bother with that.

"Though I can't tell if you are going to scold me, spank me, or send me to time out."

Captain Reinerite

A few of the faces amongst those gathered were familiar and Reinerite gave polite nods to Leucite and Stibnite both.

She also thought that she had seen
Benitoite amongst those gathered–

None of the other faces were familiar however, it striking Reinerite for a moment just how few contacts that she had amongst the Negaverse as she noticed some of the others gathered standing together.

Not that she planned to let it bother her.

Reinerite glanced around the courtyard again, her grey eyes noticing a brown-haired girl (
Gunningite) standing somewhat off to the side from the others.

She probably wouldn't have approached her, if not for the fact that the other was holding what appeared to be a magic 8 ball in her hands, the weapon reminding Reinerite somewhat of her own first weapon.

Reinerite stepped over and whilst her voice was cool, there was a small smile on her lips as she asked "Is your General not here?"
