The silver-haired General was the first to lead his group through the narrow, crystallized passage over the bridge. As each of the soldiers poured out onto the other side of the river, he stood solemn and still, judging each of them silently with an ever-watchful gaze until everyone had regrouped on the village side shore. Here, they came face to face with a post that held three directional signs: left, forward and right. Though the lettering was worn too much to read, Uvarovite walked without hesitation down the straight pathway. "This way," he spoke the two words curtly before heading forward, expecting those assigned to his delegation to follow in kind.
The pathway, if it could still be called such, was only barely distinguishable, with pavers littering the hard packed earth every few steps. To either side of the path was flat, cracked land that had once perhaps been an orchard - though now, naught was left but old, dried husks. The farther they walked, the wider the pathway became, until at last they stood in a courtyard not unlike the one surrounding the tower. Only this one stretched out before a large, multi-story building, with an old, chipped sign hanging above the doorway.
The Tavern of Portunus.
To either side of the building rose a large, brick and wrought-iron fence, separating the courtyard from the back entrance. Through the old, rusted bars could be seen glimmers of a stable and several other small constructs but the only way to get to them would be going through the building itself. As Uvarovite approached the old double doors, it was clear that he meant to do exactly that.

Prompt 2
This is one of the biggest buildings in town and though it doesn’t seem very ominous from the outside, there is a certain degree of caution that must be taken to ensure the group does not walk into a youma den. Uvarovite gives his instructions very clearly - part of the group will go inside first and part of them will stay outside.
[Choice 1]: The group going inside needs to be prepared for anything! It’s their job to make sure that the ground floor is clear before everyone heads inside to begin the search and they must understand that because they are taking the risk, they could very well be in danger. They could be walking into a trap, or worse.
If you choose to scout the building, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to head inside first to Scout the Building.
[Choice 2]: Staying outside seems slightly safer than heading into an unknown building! It’s not all about lazing around, though. The soldiers outside are required to keep guard in case a youma attempts to flank them or trap them inside and if going in first is a trap, they’ll have to find a way to get their comrades out of the tavern safely.
If you choose to guard outside, please copy the text below and include it in your post.

Eternal Sailor Chrysocolla chooses to head inside first to Scout the Building.
"Amphitrite -- " Chrysocolla had started, breathless, and then she'd made brief eye contact with Faustite and realized oh, no. She really didn't want to be in a group with him. Did she want that badly enough that she didn't want to group up with her sister? Yes, actually. She did want it that badly. She grabbed Noctua by the wrist, businesslike, and started off in another direction. So what if this was Uvarovite's group, and she didn't respect him much? She'd chosen a direction at random, and she was going to stick what that decision, because she needed to seem intentional and anything but directionless.
Her grip tightened on Noctua's wrist. Honestly. It was like being a babysitter, given Noctua's... everything.
She let go, finally, when the group had made its' way over the bridge and down the pathway to the Tavern; finally something to do that wasn't the awkward haze of walking with people she didn't know and didn't like, having to keep half a lookout for anything that might pull Noctua away. The crowd seemed to be mostly Lieutenants and basic senshi, with one other Corrupt Eternal she half-recognized and a General she'd never talked with one-on-one, and captains scattered throughout: it didn't really matter, since she wasn't exactly here to socialize, but it was good to get a rough headcount. Fifteen, sixteen, seventeen? Somewhere in that range.
She dropped Noctua's wrist and started heading inside, taking a second to bundle her hair up into a lopsided bun so that it'd be less in the way.

Corrupted Super Sailor Noctua chooses to head inside first to Scout the Building.
Noctua was about to follow Alkaid with stars in her eyes (to the ends of the earth if she was being totally honest) when the pushing started. Noctua honestly hadn't expected chaos to break out as it had, the Negaverse being so trained in diligence and order, so the bustling had taken her quite by surprise. The sudden movement and her lack of sleep caused her mind to go fuzzy and lose track of where she was. Had the sound picked up, or was she just suddenly very sensitive to what was happening? Someone checked her shoulder and Noctua spun out, slender legs failing to find purchase. She would have fallen had Chrysocolla not grabbed her wrist.
Noctua was about to thank her when she realized where they were heading. Away from Alkaid.
Noctua let loose a pathetic little whine, her free hand reaching out to the vanishing ascended general as though she'd notice a willing acolyte being dragged away.
"Chrys... Chrys you're hurting me," her voice was barely a whisper, and Noctua doubted she'd even heard her. Or maybe she had, and the tightening on her wrist was a signal to shut up. And Chrysocolla did outrank her so shut up she did and followed dutifully, making extra sure to keep her feet firmly beneath her. And really, Chrysocolla's grip on her was a blessing. When she stumbled, Noctua tightened the muscles in the arm the older Senshi had hold of to regain herself. And the physical anchor kept the anxiety and anger of the pushing crowd around her at bay as well. Even though she knew Chrysocolla resented that she felt the need to look after Noctua and even though she thought Noctua was incapable of looking after herself, Noctua was still grateful that Chrys had thought of her at all. It was nice that she was remembered so long after Cinnabar's vanishing.
Which was why she did not ask why Chrysocolla had fled from Alkaid and her male companion and only followed her dutifully into the tavern.
"I am humbled," Noctua ventured gently as she ran a skeletal hand along the beam of a wall, "that you thought to take me with you, Chrysocolla."
Reinerite chooses to head inside first to Scout the Building.
"Hmmm?" Reinerite glanced over in the direction indicated byGunningiteas the Lieutenant fell into step with her, grey eyes catching sight of a half-youma officer, one that had the feel of a fellow Captain.
"No, not demons" she said "They are half-youma officers..."
Her voice trailed off as Uvarovite started to move off, following after the silver-haired General as he headed towards a narrow, crystallized passage - but whilst her pace was relatively brisk Reinerite kept it to a pace that Gunningite could keep up with.
The passage led over a bridge, a post on the opposite shore with signs that pointed in three directions - to the left, to the right and straight ahead.
It seemed that straight ahead was the direction that their group was headed in, Reinerite walking in silence because the route forwards didn't really lend itself to conversation down a 'path' that gradually widened into another courtyard.
Grey eyes considered the building in front of her, as a green-haired corrupt tugged a second one in the direction of the tavern as Reinerite briefly considered the options in front of her - on the one hand she didn't have magic like the two corrupted senshi did and it was hard to tell if the building would have the space for her to use her weapon to its full effectiveness - however on the other hand she would have to check out the tavern anyway at some point and so maybe it was better to do so now–
She glanced back at Gunningite as she came to a final decision, her voice calm as she said "I am going join those scouting out the building" because Reinerite preferred the idea of the now rather than the later.
She would leave it up to the Lieutenant whether she wanted to follow her in doing so however. knowing there would be work enough whatever Gunningite chose.
Uvarovite took note of those who had chosen to follow him to the tavern as he headed off in the direction the map he'd been given showed. Aside from Tourmaline and Mab they were all new faces but he hoped they would all be up to the challenge. The only real worry he had was for the Corrupt Senshi. If they ran into a youma nest that could cause an issue but between himself, Tourma, and their youma that shouldn't be an issue. Or much of one.
Once they reached the tavern he paused, calling out to his youma and the creature crawled out of the ground under his feet. His pet loomed over him and he patted it's head as he looked at the assembled group.
"We will need an even split of those going inside and those staying out there. Tourma ... I will be taking a group inside but there is no guarantee this isn't a trap." He hoped she would take the hint and stay outside. If there was an issue in the tavern he could easily call for her help should they need it. "Mab, you know your way around youma. Pay attention."
"EVERYONE ELSE!" he raised his voice so it would be heard over the whole group. "Please try to split evenly." There were enough assembled that were below his rank so they would, technically, have to obey him but he hoped they would just do it on their own. "One team will go inside and clear the entrance and a second will stay out here to make sure we aren't being watched."

All Tavern Players: Uvarovite would like everyone to split evenly and into balanced teams i can't force you too obviously but he has asked
Gunningite chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance.
Gunningite nodded her head - but she didn't quite understand the difference between a daemon and a Half-Youma. They looked the same to her as best as she could tell - though some things didn't directly equate and trying to bring in the whole of a fantasy universe against the real one was... welll... insanity and Gunnigite wasn't crazy. A bit wrapped up in her persona - but not delusional. She would have to look into the subject more.
She had been about to follow Reinerite in when the loud voice of the General leading their expedition stopped her cold, and she nodded her head and worried her bottom lip.
"I'll stay outside and watch your back, Captain," She said with a salute to the other woman. "Give them hell in there!"
litian
She's going to stay outside and try to balance out the groups a bit since the General asked so nicely.

Goblinite chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance.
As Captain Goblinite made to leave, a senshi applying lipstick bumped into him, apparently quite absentmindedly. Who applies lipstick before going into such a dangerous place? he wondered, staring at her...him? incredulously.
Senshis always seemed to be the most strange of creatures. And there were half-youma about.
"Excuse you," he said flatly, instead of expressing any of this thought process.
It soon turned out that the senshi was going with the same group. Interesting... He'd keep an eye on that one.
Speaking of keeping an eye, they arrived at this tavern, and he looked it over briefly. Bigger than he'd expected. Maybe there would be something here after all... The general in charge, before heading in, requested that half the group remain outside. He nodded at that, thinking it sensible.
"I shall remain out here, keep watch for trouble," he stated evenly, and hefted his Maul, and then rested it on his shoulder. Maybe something would need its face smashed in before too long.
While he kept an eye out, though, his gaze occasionally returned to the odd senshi. Really, every senshi. Though they were part of the negaverse, there was always something off about them, and in a strange place like this...it didn't hurt to be wary.
General Tourmaline chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance.
Tourmaline was less than pleased with the implication that it would be better if she remained outside to guard the rear. It showed in a flash of irritability that burned brightly like fire behind green eyes before a curt nod was given in Uvarovite's direction. She was certain enough that she and the others could have guarded the door from the inside, or at least scouted the ground floor while the second group went up a level, but...
It would do no good at all to disagree with the one who'd been trusted to lead this band of merry travelers and she was trying to set a good example of ways that they could all work together. She lingered quietly, listening to the conversations being held around her while attempting to stay observant.

Corrupt Sailor Arabia chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance.
Watching people begin to head towards the building was giving Arabia second thoughts about joining them.
Watching their 'leader' summon his youma before going in all but made his choice clear.
"Nope." He spoke, looking towards the beautiful woman at his side. "Feel free to join the scouting party but I think I'll take my chances out here where there is still space....and if I need to use magic, it won't bring the house down."
He smiled at her, eyeing the others who were also deciding to remain outdoors. Allowing Meri chance to make up her own mind, Arabia headed towards the others, giving them each a nod.
"So, taking bets on who is getting in trouble first." He spoke to them all. "Us....or them."

Reven chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance.
The kitten wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but one moment he'd been perched on Nissonite's shoulder as their little group had headed off to follow the two senshi that'd come out of the tower, and the next thing she knew the captain was stumbling and she lost her footing and fell to the ground. Boots hit the ground all around her, numerous soldiers marching this way and that, and Reven had had to run for it, weaving through the sea of constantly moving waves until she'd managed to slip free of them.
Unfortunately, she'd lost sight of Niss and the senshi they'd been with. It was impossible to see through the shifting bodies, and Reven sat, panting to catch her breath, with her back pressed up against the edge of giant crystal.
Fear rushed in, panic threatened, but she'd gotten the captain's message through the communicators after a long handful of seconds, and when she saw a thinning in the foot traffic she made her move, darting after the first corrupt she saw, the fur standing on end along the line of her back and the full length of her tail.

Corrupt Sailor Rigel chooses to stay outside and Guard the Entrance. He'd wanted to go in, but Rigel signed a bit to himself before smiling up to Carnelian. "Probably best to wait out here, if there's any chance that's a youma nest. I'm not sure how effective I would be in that scenario." If the Eternal wished to go inside the tavern sooner, well, Rigel wouldn't blame him--besides. The General had just ordered they split into even groups. Or well, somewhat even. A number were already ready to head into the tavern and scout things out.
So the hooded corrupt lingered outside, keeping his gaze moving steadily across the area. Now and then he'd glance upwards towards the windows and roof of the tavern, trying to ensure nothing snuck about up above their heads.
"I wonder if this place could ever be reclaimed for agents to use," he mused aloud, bound hands clenching and relaxing repeatedly with the itch to touch, explore, learn. "Likely not, with all the youma here, but would be neat~" If they were as hostile and dangerous as those heading the mission had said, well. Better to get in, get the gears, get out, and have that be that. Shame.
Annabergite had intended to leave him behind in the shuffle of Negaverse agents and Corrupted Senshi as they all fell into semi-cohesive groups. There were enough of them that it was easy to get pushed around, and Annabergite hadn't wasted any time in trying to lose his apparent tail.
Especially since the man had asked him if he was on drugs.
He hadn't even bothered to answer, staring at him in utter outrage before stalking off, and now, as the directions were given, Annabergite was pushing himself towards the front of the queue of people, towards the building, rather than away from it. It didn't matter how dangerous it was; he was going inside, regardless, because what exactly did he have to lose?
Nothing. The answer was a big, fat, painful nothing.
Except for the lieutenant still dogging his heels. How on earth did he walk so fast?!
"No," Annabergite snapped waspishly, although this wasn't entirely true. He'd caught a glimpse of a head of dark hair that looked suspiciously as though it belonged to that brat Kamacite, though he hadn't gotten near enough to verify this. "I don't know anyone. I don't know you, and I'd rather just get this over with, if it's all the same to you."
He was not going to admit that yes, he'd totally already binge watched the new Sabrina while eating a pint of Rocky Road in his pajamas.

Lt. Geocronite chooses to head inside first to Scout the Building.
He had felt like running so many times, but where could he have run to? There was no running. He had to do this. And luckily this General seemed... okay. Or at least they weren't very demanding, which was nice compared to Stellerite. And the group seemed... okay enough, even if Geo thought he had seen some of them before. Perhaps at the theater...
He shuddered. Somehow, he needed to block that from his memory. He couldn't think of his 'fellow' agents right now as murderers and such. They were... teammates.
The walk to the tavern wasn't too bad, though it was dark. Geo often wondered if it would be such a bad thing to ask every agent to carry a flashlight around. There had been that one youma-ish captain who looked like a giant lightbulb. Too bad she wasn't in the group. They could have used it. But alas.
It was weird though, that they entered the courtyard and there was only one building in front of them. Where had it come from? Why was it by itself? Even he could tell that wherever it had come from, that for some reason it didn't have any buildings near it. As though it had just been in the middle of... nowhere.
But when they were all gathered outside of it, the leading General decided to speak, and Geo almost jumped from it. So the choices were stay outside, where it was probably safer, or go inside, where one was more likely to be ambushed if something was waiting inside of there. But, Geo was never one to back down from a challenge. And before he even thought about it, he knew that he was going to go inside of that building! Most likely he would die, but he was still going to go in it!
He joined the group that was going to go inside, including the lead General, and waited for the door to either be opened by one of them or told to open it...

After a moment's consideration of the area, Goblinite's gaze sweeping across the horizon, and then back toward the large tavern, he offered, "In this place, I'm gonna say us. Suddenly a bunch of officers tromping around? Bound to attract the attention of the locals."
"Bring 'em, I say. Then we can knock some sense into 'em. Or just pop 'em for a while. Either way."
