After they were sure the other two groups had crossed the bridge successfully and moved on, Haumea and Alkaid led their group through the narrow, crystallized passage. As each of the soldiers poured out onto the other side of the river, a single finger rose to Haumea's lips, commanding them all to silence until everyone had regrouped on the village side shore. Here, they came face to face with a post that held three directional signs: left, forward and right. Though the lettering was worn too much to read, Alkaid waved everyone to the pathway on their left without a spoken word.
The pathway, if it could still be called such, was only barely distinguishable by the pavers littering the hard packed earth every few steps and the overall indention created by hundreds of feet too many years past to count. It continued on past a crumbled wall at the entrance of the residential district and seemed to stretch all the way to an archaic playground just within sight at the farthest end of the domain. Between the wall and the playground were blocks of housing, all in different stages of decay and preservation, and the river they had crossed made a bend near the entrance that caused it to stretch along the entire backside of the homes on the left hand side of their pathway.
The corrupt senshi took their group halfway down the dilapidated road before stopping. There, Alkaid turned to face them and, for the first time since they had begun the silent journey, addressed them in a low voice.
“We will have to split up into smaller groups if we hope to cover the ground here before we are noticed. If you see something important, come back to find either Haumea or myself. We will wait here as a lookout and summon you back to regroup if we notice anything suspicious."
The two senshi shared another glance before Haumea stepped forward, moving with graceful menace as long dreadlocks swayed gently. Once he was certain of his group's attention, the tall eternal was silent for a moment before speaking in a low voice, tangerine eyes alight with inner fire.
"Remember, we don't know where exactly the gear was hidden away. Nor do we know what forms whatever townsfolk have survived might have taken. Be careful. Be watchful. And don't make too much noise as you search, this is your only warning.”

[Prompt 2] As Alkaid said, the larger group has to be divided into two smaller search parties from here to efficiently cover ground and search for the crystalline gear in a timely fashion. Each of the groups will take one of two ‘blocks’- sections of the housing district which are divided by the road in the center.
Block A is on the left hand side of the pathway, closest to the river. Block B is on the right hand side of the pathway, closest to the center of town.
[Choice 1]: Your character groups with the soldiers filing on the left side of the road to explore Block A. The houses here are bordered by the crystallized river on the left side and the dilapidated road on the right side.
If you choose Block A, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to group with the team in Block A.
[Choice 2]: Your character groups with the soldiers filing on the right side of the road to explore Block B. The houses here are bordered by the dilapidated road on the left side and the residential wall on the right side.
If you choose Block B, please copy the text below and include it in your post.
(CHARACTER NAME) chooses to group with the team in Block B.

General Faustite chooses to group with the team in Block B. What did silence mean when their auras screamed their presence? Faustite watched Haumea curiously for this gesture, this choice, which was not broached even when Alkaid bid her orders.
Faustite braced teeth against themselves. Churning in flame was a groaning, weary pain that welled up and about where bone met metal. Ey pilfered strangely fitted pants for a time, plucked something of its contents, and placed it in eir mouth. The gesture was predicated by shooting Aue a weary, albeit grateful glance.
Their paths diverged simply — follow the river on one side, reach the center of town on the other. One promised better survival were this an earth that cherished life, and the other promised confrontation. What Alkaid said was true; they could not know these gears' locations. And for as vast as the Rift spanned, for all the teething cliffs and heaving mountains and brittle rives dried into rasping mouths, the Rift could have swallowed them anywhere. They may never see these stray gears. They may find this mission as worthless and wasteful as all the rest that delved into youma domain.
Faustite minded nothing of this fact. After a stray look toward Alkaid, eir fingers swept the air for Aue — and any others — to follow. Beyond their duty here, the center of town beckoned for all its still mystery. Shuttered to them the doors were, tacky with years of neglect, their gasping windows silent.

Eternal Adamantine chooses to group with the team in Block B.
Adamantine nodded at her guardian. "She is." Alkaid had helped her a lot once Labyrinthite had disappeared, and she had spent a lot of time with the corrupt surprisingly. Even so much that Alkaid had donned her glamour to come visit her in her garage.
She had not seen the corrupt since then, and didn't know why it was that she disappeared, but perhaps this place had been why? Her gaze traveled a long the dilapidated town, eyes cutting sharply towards anything that moved. If there was residents here, she loathed to see how the rift shifted and turned them. Or perhaps they would just youma?
With their group now, it seemed they were collecting senshi to surround themselves. Amphi had called over one (though it seemed the senshi walked to join another group), and Adamantine had seen a smaller corrupt calling for a group, tapping his head to join theirs. She didn't want a large group, and preferred the small method of moving around.
But more people meant more magic, and sometimes there was power in higher numbers.
"Silk, I need you to keep your eyes sharp." She moved the kitten from under her hair. Out of everyone present, Silk was by the far the one she trusted the most. "You're my eyes, and ears little one." She breathed in and took the first curious steps toward the town.
"Amphi, Niss." Adamantine kept her head cocked. To Alum, she moved the smaller senshi to the middle of their group. She would take point if they allowed it, and should anything pop out, at least she would take the first hit of the group.

He watched them, the two corrupted Senshi leading them down strange pathways that he had, for all his time in the Negaverse, never yet trod. Ancient cities hidden beneath the world from the prying eyes of the invading moon and stars. It was not a new thought, but it rose again as they walked, silently in procession. He didn’t offer any verbal confirmation of the warning, or the request that they split into groups, only nodded, differential because this was not ‘his’ mission to bandy about as though he knew what he was doing. He was interested enough in Haumia, knew a certain other whom found the corrupted senshi rather attractive under the tattoos. But for all that he wanted to know more, later… he let his gaze linger on a more familiar face for a long moment before he turned and started quietly down the side of the path that led closest to the river. (Zinkenite) chooses to group with the team in Block A.

Leucite chooses to group with the team in Block A. Leucite had fallen in with the General-King as they'd crossed the bridge, though he'd kept an ear open for Dravite's reply to his query. All in all, the residental area had a bit of a "After Humans" feel to it - like the Rift was slowly reclaiming that which had been built in its space by the hubris of man. He supposed he couldn't blame it. But the urge to bring in an even larger team than the one they already had to clear the area out - fix up the structures... Colonize... It was there. His own mind could see the potential of colonizing the Rift. The power here - the mysteries... So much they could learn if they were willing to try... A thought for another time as he turned toward the river with Zinkenite, tossing a glance over his shoulder at Stibnite to give her a small hint of a smile as he motioned his head toward the river. "Get a load of that," He told her in a low, conspiratorial tone. "Wonder what'd you could catch in there?"

Corrupt Lalande chooses to group with the team in Block A. Once they'd made their way across the river and to the small 'town' that they'd been lead he paused long enough to listen to the other senshi that had been leading them before catching Cursa's hand. He wasn't going to let her out of his sight, knowing Tourmaline would be angry with them if they split up without a good reason, and he didn't trust the RIft. Uvarovite had explained to him, quite clearly, how much youma hated senshi and he didn't want either of them getting eaten out here. "Lets follow the Sovereign. Tourma and Uv have mentioned his name so he's probably trustworthy." Plus he would be strong so they'd be safer near him if it came down to it. So he tugged her down toward the river, pausing close to Zinkenite. "Can I assume you're not going to let any youma eat us, right sir?"

Alum chooses to group with the team in Block B. He was positively giddy with joy. He was able to go with the others! All these other corrupt senshi and under the guidance of guidance herself! What an honor. As an older, taller, and more powerful corrupt decided to pick him, Alum was practically bursting at the seems with enthusiasm, visibly bouncing in excitement as he was shuffled along to stand in the middle of their group. "Hello!" He chirped at the others, abet, silently as he could. "I'm Alum. Just tell me if you need anything okay?"

Captain Nissonite chooses to group with the team in Block B. They'd been moving on, splitting off into three different groups, when Amphi's excited shout had the captain turning to see just who she was calling to, and stepped right into the path of another agent, a tall general that didn't see the blonde until he was knocking right into him. Nissonite stumbled, had a short disagreement with gravity, and managed to keep his feet beneath him, if barely. He was half jogging to catch up with Amphitrite before he realized he'd lost his small passenger. "Ah s**t." Hand reaching out to catch the corrupt's wrist he drew her to a stop, head turning this way and that as he scanned the ground looking for the small guardian in all the shuffling feet of migrating soldiers. "Reven fell off my shoulder, I don't know where she went." Rory was going to kill him.Their group was trying to move on, another corrupted senshi had joined them, and he still didn't see the snarky kitten anywhere. A moment of indecision flickered across the man's face as he looked back up to Amphi, brows creased, before relaxing again as he suddenly reached for the pen in his pocket. As he brought it up to speak into the crystal on the top of it he fell into step with the other senshi. He confirmed the white kitten was alright, his shoulders visibly relaxing, then advised her to find herself a senshi to team up with until he could get back to her again.

Corrupted Valeria chooses to group with the team in Block B. When they came to two options, two different blocks, with some going one way and others going another she remaind still. She watched who went each way, tempted to just follow after Zinkenite because he had been helpful to her so far. Maybe not here, not yet, but he had been helping her. It was however after some time that she headed in the opposite direction, she had her reasons. If she was going to be in a place where she wasn't liked she was going to try and minimize things for herself, make the best of the situation. She'd come out of this the best she could, at least she hoped.
She just hoped she didn't need to use her magic on anything...she didn't want to.
She was with others like herself but she didn't talk to them, didn't try to socialize, she just moved her hands back in an attempt to tie some of her hair back so it didn't drag the ground so much. If she was lucky maybe she'd make super and it would braid itself or something...it would be helpful. Her heels clicked as she walked silently, hands folded into her lap once they'd finished fiddling with her hair. endejester She'll tell you later whatever happens in her area.

General Arsenopyrite chooses to group with the team in Block B. Arseno preferred the silence, at least it gave him time to think about strategy or what he may do if there were any youma about. He was quite fascinated with them. But he would avoid provoking them at all possible, which meant that they were to go about in silence, past the shore, and finally they arrived in what could be called the living area. How anyone had lived here in the past, it was hard to tell, though he was sure that some had. They had to, there was no other way.
There were two choices presented to him, and one lead closer to the river. There seemed to be fewer houses on that side, and so he decided to go with the ones on the left next to some sort of wall.
He had noticed Faustite, Leucite, and a few others in the group as they had been wandering over here, though Arseno didn't address any of them. Perhaps when they were in smaller blocks they would, but for right now, they were still quite disorganized and it was still a jumbled mess that wouldn't provide any useful interaction until they finally got into the swing of things.
He wandered over to the others, only giving a slight nod to Faustite before looking around a bit more, trying to see if there were any youma hiding about.Strickenized acknowledging nod to Faustite

Corrupt Sailor Cursa chooses to group with the team in Block A. Cursa followed after Lalande, letting him do the talking for the time being. She had plenty of things to say on her own but none of them were pleasant and she had learned, rather quickly, that if she had nothing nice to say she should mind her own. If anything, observing quietly gave her the opportunity she needed to work her ridiculous ponytail into a braid. If she'd had more warning she would have done so before coming down to the Rift ( Aue had, at one point, told them to either braid it or cut it if they had any hope of being useful-- it was some of the best advice she'd been given about this side of her life). Really, she would have preferred to follow after Aue no matter how well she and Lala worked together. She knew Aue, whereas the Generals and General King were unfamiliar territory... But she wouldn't advance much of anywhere if she insisted on following him around like a doe-eyed ninny. She had to prove that she could follow orders and be of use to everyone with the training she'd received. When she heard Lalande's question she nudged him firmly with her elbow while giving him A Look (tm). Honestly, he should have known better than to ask a question like that of anyone, let alone a General King. While the General Sovereign responded to Lala her attention went to the General ( Stibnite) who'd addressed him first. "We work best in teams, ma'am. Sticking together won't be a problem for us. We'll assist where we can." Syrie For internal monologue mention. [sorry I'm so late in responding, lovelies]

General Stibnite chooses to group with the team in Block A. "If you want to find out, I would be more than happy to throw you in." Stibnite grinned back at the man as she too turned to follow him and the General King. Several others had chosen the same path and she glanced to each. A pair of corrupts that she hadn't seen before. One took off to eye Zink and his question made Stibs snort. "No one is good to us dead." Stibnite answered before Zink had a chance, a twisted grin on her face. She didn't trust corrupts but that didn't mean she was going to kill them first chance either. Everyone had the right to prove themselves. Just as Dravite had done several times over to her. "If we all stick together, hopefully we all have a better shot at coming out of this alive and less worse for wear."

Eternal Aue [5 pts]
With gesture worthy of the b***h that whelped em, Faustite set them away from the crystallized water and whatever might lie in wait there. What we really need are camera drones. Something with a sensor array, scan things without people here. A search party is too low-tech even for the Negaverse. We can take worlds but can't use technology for this sort of s**t? Noticing corrupted Valeria fussing with her hair distracted him from progressing further on his really bitching mental tirade; corrupt hair growth was bullshit and a horrible liability in battle, but he was less distracted by outside things than focused on the mission, and less focused on the mission than whether or not snap, crackle, pop the General was going to fall over.
Preferring silence with his bootblack even if it would do him no real good, Aue kept his mouth shut as he trailed his companion like an obedient dog.Aue chooses to group with the team in Block B. Strickenized updated w/flavor. he said nothing b/c im a boring b***h

Captain Seraphinite chooses to group with the team in Block A. Had Jet not been present, Seraphinite might have shot back at Gadolinite that if things got real bad, at least the senshi might make for good bait. But as it was, not really the time or place to be tossing around such jests. The least of which being because someone might not realize it was just that. Though, logically... why else would the Negaverse have sent so many senshi into the Rift? Never mind the two that were among those heading the mission--or were they actually spearheading it? There was a baffling thought...
Jet's mumbled response had Seraphinite's brows furrowed. Proved her loyalty..? "And the reward was... what? Getting torn apart and pieced back together?" Something to look back into once they were out of there. He shook his head, and for a while remained silent. Ok. Well. Almost silent. A crack in his scowl formed, and a smirk slipped through briefly at Jet's hackles rising at the notion of Gadolinite being used as bait. "What if I do it? Could be an interesting test: which one would a youma want to chomp on first?" He glanced towards the corrupt and lifted a brow in mock challenge.
But he did remain fully silent as the brightly colored corrupt signaled for such a thing, surveying the town around them as it unfolded bit by bit. The playground... that made him pull up short, stopping dead in his tracks as he stared at the grounds that had once likely echoed with laughter and excitement. And all these houses... homes. An icy weight built in his gut. A dead world was not... something he found joy in witnessing.
He shook his head hard, knuckles white on the hilts of his swords. "Bigger group's going for the right, I vote the left and the river," he reasoned aloud as his boots crunched over the broken ground. If they agreed, he'd not object, but if they wanted to search elsewhere, he'd still not comment--unless Jet actually issued an order.
