Valleria was quite confused at Blair's comment to her "my territory? It’s a god damn library that I visit, why would it be my territory?" Vall didn’t understand what Blair's point was but before she was able to ask she was knocked down to the ground, then slowly got up and helped her pick up a book that she forgot to pick herself "Its ok, you could say it's some sort of karma, I'm Valleria, what's your name?" Valleria chuckled and looked over to Blair who seems to be chuckling as well then hinted in wanting to watch her and Svafnir fight which she quickly declined "I have no need in proving or debate anything right now, I'm not here in the library for that, even if he was still here" Valleria said while shaking her head then started walking towards the exit, she had enough of the library for the day. ::======>>TEAM: CADT <<======:: Post Count: 44 Semblance Cooldown: 4 posts remaining OOC: edited a bit to make vall leave
XXXThe Annual Summer Water festival was life and kicking. So then, today marked a year of her official attendance at the academy. It was hard to believe a year had already gone by, but all the same, it felt like it had been so much longer. After all, so much had happened along the way. Meeting her team, as fickle as it was. Attending classes, getting familiar with far too many students at the academy. Not on a personal level, but an academic level. She could never sit easy, always looking for additional work and helping out the staff along the way. That's how she met Kail, who helped open her up to so many possibilities. Academics were one thing, but what about all the excitement? The time of the Fall Ball where she nearly gave in to the pressure of her mother's expectations, feeling her prison of glass closing in around her. It was not thanks to only Lafalle, but dear Garret for getting through to her. From there, it was her and Garret who rhythmically conquered all who stood in their way at the dance floor. Only to be cut down by a nefarious feline who, at the time, Yui couldn't begin to understand. In passing events, though, and their most recent rematch, she had learned far more than she ever expected of her and her friends Maria and Feralis. Various odds an ends falling through, like the day their semblances went array and swapped with one another or visiting home for the first time with Sakura and being attacked by a stranger who embodied the elements. It all led up to the climactic moment in her student-life, her first involvement with the military in a highstakes operation that took them to a cavern underground. A lot weighed on this operation, a lot more that she took upon herself. Following a series of events, and helping escort her team to safety with a new companion, Chase. She then defied military orders, and went back into the fray to save students who had gone missing. She awakened a latent ability she never knew she had, she encountered a hellfire beast unlike any other. She experienced a rollercoaster of emotions that led to defiance and heroics, as well as reckless self-sacrifice that may have left permanent injuries. Everything that happened after that was fairly insignificant. A meeting with Aurtrox to discuss her punishment, as well as meet with her mother to discuss what actually happened. Then, the fateful encounter where she took matters into her own hands to challenge her former assailant, Kendall Kingsly, who constantly avoided her. It was only after that did Yui really begin to open her eyes, that Yui felt herself surfacing again. This time at Beacon, while a rollercoaster, had easily been the best time of her life. She, before now, had never felt more alive.
It all came back to today, the start of the water festival. It wasn't just that, however. Today as well, on the cusp of summer celebrations, was her very own birthday. Not that it made the day differ for her from any other, but it became that much harder to forget with her academic enrollment. It was never her interest to celebrate it, as it almost seemed taboo by her mother who deemed it unnecessary. Rather, it was her aunt and brother who'd go out of their way to make it special. Even her father would send a heartfelt letter wishing her the best, despite their limited contact. Those sneaky traditions, however, had fallen short since her brother's passing. Her aunt always tried something, her father still sending encouragement, but it wasn't the same without her brother's surprises. That was okay, though, she'd keep her head up for him knowing he'd want her to smile today of all days. Lafalle was out of her shop today, apparently having to attend something urgent. She promised to make it up to her later, an unnecessary but sweet gesture. Something that struck her rather odd, though, was the letter sent from her estate. Instead of bold chicken-scratch from her father, the penmanship was perfect, elegant curves and swirls of cursive. The message was short. "Make the best of your day, Yui." Signed, mother, and father. It wasn't unlike her father to send something but to have her mother's involvement was... Odd, to say the least. Perhaps... This was an indication of good faith after coming to terms in their meeting with Aurtrox? Some heated topics came up as a result, but, it ended with her continued attendance at the academy, following some restrictions being implemented. That, however, was a worry for when the time of classes actually arose. Having the water festival right around the corner, Eteria's terms were suspended until class was officially in session. So, for the time being, Yui could rest easy.
Rest being a relative term, of course. When did the girl ever actually take a break, unless absolutely forced to? Despite being in higher spirits than ever, Yui rarely found the time to take a moment to step back and relax. In fact, more than ever, she seemed determined to prove her usefulness with productivity while others were out having fun. She enjoyed it, so who could blame her? Yui had been at work all morning, from rearranging paperwork in Kail's classroom, to attending parts and weapon cleaning in Amélie's. Rachel had even asked her to help her select a variety of grimm, following studies of Grimm Hotspots. Yui was near the end of her list of volunteered tasks, currently delivering small stack of books to the library from Ezekiel's office. Oddly enough, as simple as the task was, it proved to be the most difficult with the weight of the books sitting awkwardly in her right hand. Especially in the moment of actually opening the library door. Still attempting to get used to using her left hand dominantly, she shifted the weight of the books into her right as she reached for the door. That, in of itself, was a mistake. The strain of weight caused her fingers to twitch, her wrist to flick before her grip gave way, the books crashing against a mess of papers sprawled across the floor. "Are you kidding me..." She whispered. Fallen books were one thing, but she already dealt with a mess of files in Kail's room. Apparently, one of Ezekiel's books was poorly taken care of. Yui didn't fret, though. Not much, anyway. As the books clattered against the floor, winter white lashes fell shut as she sucked in a long, deep breath. 'It's fine, Yui. It happens. You should've just opened it normally. Just... Breathe.' Normally, Yui wouldn't be so frustrated. But, since the incident in Alpha, she's found herself being short with herself at her new disability... The damage to her right hand never fully recovered. While it wasn't severe, she had to be careful. Her grip wasn't as strong, she had to be more mindful of how she held things, and involuntary movements of her fingers had become an ongoing issue. First opening the library door, Yui then dropped herself to a crouch to begin gathering the loose papers and occasional book. It may not have been the most exciting way to spend her birthday, but.. At the very least, she got to do what she wanted to. Especially after missing signup for the exhibition matches. That... Well, that would've been much more interesting, but at the time of signup, she was indisposed and wasn't sure if she'd be up to the task when the time came. Turns out, she was.

While it may have been the water festival, he himself was content to pursue his own goals rather than celebrate or anything. Just because the city itself was taking a break for a week did not mean the grimm were.He had been unable to contact Dove ever since his dream, one which continued to pop up into his mind. He had unfortunately left that challenge for another time; even if he could never forget it with the dreams. The Voice had also remained silent in that time, not yet delivering on his promise though Garret had been more caught up by what occurred inside the walls of the city than out in recent times. So much to do, so much to pull his attentions, yet so little time to do any of it. He had yet to inform Aurtrox of the Voice, though he had been meaning.to. In truth, he wanted to see if it would keep its word and how it would go about it first, so he could inform Aurtrox in more detail of it. Though seeing it had been silent... 'Perhaps I should inform him during this festival.' He thought to himself silently. For now though, Garret was headed down to try and make his way to the mission board. While everyone was celebrating, he was thinking of pursuing Grimm to keep their numbers in check. However, something would draw his attention before he was anywhere near the mission board.
It had sounded like many objects crashed into the floor, though he could not identify what by sound alone. Curious as to the disturbance in the mostly peaceful academy, Garret would follow after it figuring he had time to investigate. He noted it seemed to be towards the library, and as he rounded a bend he would find his suspicions confirmed...and the sight of a familiar figure. He would see a large scattering of book and pages around her; evidently the source of the sound that caught his attention. With her back to him, he thought about his dreams...and a smile crossed his lips. Walking slowly and quietly, he hoped, towards her he would pick up one of the fallen books. "It's been quite some time Dove. Need a hand?" He would ask, voice cheerful and confident. It had been quite some time since he'd seen her, and he had to admit he did not expect to run into her on chance like this. Even without her answering though, he would have gone to pick up a few more books and pages from what was scattered across the floor. "And may I ask why the dove is in the cage when she could be out and about?" He would ask, a bite more teasingly this time, in reference to her hauling books in doors rather than out for the festival and everything.

XXXFortunately for those who sought to step in silence, they gained the additional coverage of Yui's patter of hands and the sound of fluttering pages as Yui reached to grab them. Soft thuds echoed as Yui dropped one, two, four books on top of one another in a small stack. Still... she held a loose bound book in her left hand, one that was missing well over a dozen pages; as the spine was in shambles. For once since absolute exhaustion, someone managed to get the drop on her. Grand, white wings would perk up suddenly, almost like the dears of a dog at the startling sound of both a pleasant and familiar voice. "Huh?" Slipped from her lips, sudden but soft. Clearly a sound of curious, but amused surprise. 'Garret? She thought to herself, pale blue hues widening ever so slightly in surprise. She hadn't seen the Dance of Spears in so long, not even in passing. What were the odds that she'd hear his voice here of all places, today of all days? The day that marked a year since they met, there was something poetic about such a fateful encounter. ... And, that being said, she found herself happier that it was later rather than sooner since the mission. She had time to recover, time to regain her confidence, her self esteem. ... Both of which were so fragile the last time they met face to face. At that time, he managed to build her up and helped her embrace it; he always managed to bring the best out of her. But in that same night, he saw her in her most vulnerable. Before, and after, mixed with a humiliating defeat that had since then been appeased. She had so much to share, but she couldn't simply bulldoze him with all the details. No, and she couldn't let that contagious confidence that radiating in his tone claim victory so easily, either.
She didn't yet turn to the Lancer, but instead closed her eyes for a moment as she continued her action to pick up another page with her right. The faintest smirk crossed her lips, as some semblance of a joke crossed her mind. Or rather, her on a failed attempt at one when she got her injury. "You know, just because I nearly lost it once doesn't mean it's unusable." Yui acknowledged, raising her right hand up with the paper. This was one of the few circumstances where Yui hadn't actually been wearing a glove on it. So with it, Garret would catch a glimpse of the misshapen and discolored skin that stretched from an even bolder circle in the center of her hand. Then, lowering her hand, she'd tuck the page in the loosely bound book. It was only after that she'd tilt her head back, passing him a pale blue glance. Just enough so that he could see her smile, as sly as it was. It was meant to be a joke, even if she wasn't good at them. She had been getting better. "It would be much appreciated if it's no inconvenience." She agreed. Whether or not she accepted, it seemed like Garret was intending in providing a hand either way. Not that she was opposed in the slightest. Truly, she welcomed his company. With a couple more pages in hand, she found herself fighting against her own amused smirk to his teases. Lifting the small stack of books, a couple more pages in hand, she'd turn on her heel to face the spearman. As she turned, a new accessory glistened from around her neck. Rather than the blue jewel pendant that dangled prior, which was now pinned to her jacket; she wore a remarkable white gold necklace that was laced through a moon-shaped pendant, finely detailed with the presence of feathers. "And my I ask what reason the spear has to be poking into another's business?" She asked, giving him a coy smile as took a few steps towards him, then bent down to grab one of the last pages. "If you must know, the staff has had their handsful with preparations for the festival. So I offered to lend them a hand, ironically." She said plainly. Really it was simple, though the irony was apparently now needing a hand from Garret to finish lending a hand. That, and her hand to begin with. All that aside, with what Garret had gathered, the handful of books and scattered papers were easily conquered. "Mr. Novak had to step out of the office today for something, so he asked me to return these to the library for him." Ezekiel Novak... He was one of the more interesting staff members. Being a unique mixture of posh, high-class but also eccentric to a noticeable degree. Not unlike their own headmaster. The man was always doing something. If it wasn't something with the staff or student, he was out of office in the city. He always had something to say. He always held some degree of insight into any topic that came up and had an answer for everything. What surprised her the most was just how productive he managed to be, and how on point his quick thinking was, almost like a machine. "Besides, I missed the signup period for the exhibition matches. I had to find some way to keep myself busy." Now there was something a bit more reasonable in her reasons. Frankly, academy work could be done at any time. Especially little odd jobs like these, but for her, it was.. Well, just finding something to do because she couldn't really do what she wanted. Was it wrong to admit it like that? "Would you be so kind?" She asked softly, motioning with her head for Garret to follow her into the library towards the front desk. She only had the intention of dropping off the books, now if only he had shown up moments sooner to save her the scuffle. Carefully placing the books down on the counter, she'd take a moment to roll her right wrist, noticeably stretching her fingers. Her hand got so stiff so easily. "Now, may I inquire the same? It isn't often I see you at the academy. I would've thought you'd spend another day at the beach. You know, with enough lounging to make up for what I robbed of you last year." It was a thought she reminisced on. Oddly enough, it wasn't the first time she had thought of that very memory today.

It was a rare occurrence; primarily from the fact they met infrequently and due to Garret approaching directly most times. So the other factors in regard to her did not cross his mind. Curiously, he would see her momentarily continue in picking up another page before he would hear her speak; though she did not turn to him quite yet. Her phrase left Garret confused a moment until she raised her right hand; for once she was not wearing a glove. He would see the misshapen and discolored skin that stretched from an even more pronounced circle in the center of her hand, and questions came to mind of what had happened to cause it. Questions he kept silent on for the moment however; primarily to see if she would offer an explanation herself. He would see her lower her hand and place the page into a book before she would tilt her head back and he caught sight of her pale blue gaze...and a smile on her lips. He would smile slightly in return to her at seeing it. 'If she can smile about it then it must be a sign of pride. I wonder what the story is behind it however...' He thought to himself silently. And thankfully, she seemed to desire his help as well in regards to the books.
As she lifted the small stack of books, with pages in hand and turned to face him, she would see Garret had a good few books in hands as well. With a few pages secured between the books as well, just so it does not fly away. What caught Garret's eyes though was that she had a new necklace on; the original was now pinned to her jacket but she now wore a white gold necklace that was laced through a moon-shaped pendant, and detailed with feathers. It was a very nice necklace, though Garret was curious as to its meaning and how she acquired it. 'It really has been too long.' He thought to himself. He would be broken from such thoughts as she would counter his question by asking one of her own, stepping towards him and grabbing a final page from the floor with a coy smile. He was about to think of a reply himself when she would answer his question. She would say the staff had their hands full with festival preparations, so she naturally offered to help. She would also mention the particular staff that had asked for help, Novak being a name Garret was familiar with even if he never interacted directly, and that she was to take this to the library, Though he still found it off for her to be doing such things to help instead of others ways, feeling she was more like him in terms of helping with greater threats than overdue books. Thankfully, she mentioned a more believable reason in that she could not sign up to the exhibition and needed to keep herself busy. That much he could understand. As she asked if he would be so kind, he smiled and nodded before following after Dove. Thinking on all the things he had heard thus far, to figure out how he wanted to go about things. While he had contacted her in terms of his dreams...it seemed a lot more had happened as well. Stuff he did desire to learn.
Garret would set the books down on the counter as she did, watching as she would roll her wrist and stretch her fingers. Making him wonder what truly how bad it was in function, as he could not tell himself save that it was likely bad. Dove would be the first to break the silence, asking him why he was here which was a fair question. Especially after she answered his own. Though when she said she robbed him of a day to relax he laughed a little. "Of course, you have answered my questions so I would be remiss if I did not answer you in turn. Though I will say, first, that you robbed me of nothing. You gave me a fond day to remember Dove. I am here in search of you actually." He would say before pausing slightly. While he had been looking for the mission board, his original purpose was to see if he could find her as well. With whatever mission he chose as a backup if anything. "I have been...having this dream. Of a white winged warrior challenging me in the outskirts. And in the dream...I started to see your family crest. I have tried searching for this spot before but...I have yet to find it. I was wondering if I could ask for your assistance?" He would say in seriousness, pausing before a smile crossed his face. "That is if you are not too busy with delivering books Dove." He would finish, clearly teasing her assignment even if she just completed it. Given how much she had done to him before, he figured he could get back at her slightly now. He did still desire to catch up with her...but he did not want to beat around the bush. Bluntness was best in this situation, and they could always talk more once the task was done. Assuming she accepted at the least, which she had no obligation to. He just felt she would.

XXXIt had really been far too long. His confidence, his teasing, his touch of arrogance that was almost charming as it was annoying. He went along with every counter remark she made, not missing a beat of the drum. She missed it. With it all, he was still kind and gentlemanly enough to help him. The two of them made their way easily into the library, setting down the stack of books as took the pages he had snagged up and began to work them back into their proper place. Fortunately for her, the pages of this book were numbered. Unfortunately, they had fallen from random segments of the book itself. Carefully she began flipping through pages, sliding the escaped scrap back into their proper place. All the while, she'd listen to his response to her question, a semblance of a smile still clear on the corner of her lips. His words were as sweet as they were sincere, remembering the day just as fondly herself. It was all so different back then, feeling the intensity of anxiety prey against her frail heart after all that had happened at home. Her aunt had pushed her to the academy, out of her comfort zone. At the time, she dreaded every moment of it. But in actuality, she couldn't have had a better welcome to Beacon than that day at the beach. Her smile, however, turned into a muse of curiosity, her scarred, winter-colored brow raising at the mention of his true intentions here. He had come all the way here for her? Suddenly the loose pages became immediately less interesting, noticeable as she just sort of... Slipped the pages into a random segment of the book and closed it. Curiosity had her as she turned her head to face him; her pale blue hues brimming with curiosity. But curiosity did not outweigh her courtesy. As he clearly intended to keep talking, she would bide her time and listen to what he had to share. It was a very curious predicament. Recurring dreams of a white-winged warrior, a mysterious location, and her own family crest? In her experience, recurring dreams of abnormalities never seemed to bode well. In the seriousness of the topic, however, she noticed that a particular smile spill across her lips. At that indication, she knew something was coming. That was the two of them in a nutshell, alright. Taking fun stabs at each other to see who would get a rise out of the other first, but really it never seemed to end. With a quiet huff of her breath, the lioncourt would roll her eyes as she pushed the books to the side of the counter. "I'll have you know, as it was, I was about to take a lunch break." She said with a distinct smile curled against pale lips, but that wasn't the end of it. "To me, it sounds like someone may just be getting a little impatient about our coming duel. I never took you as one to beat around the bush on such a matter, Garret." Where he took a stab in her direction, she was quick to sidestep and parry when he least expected it. The subject matter, however, was not one she was ready to dismiss, even if she had pinned it on a joke. She held a satisfied smile on her lips for a few moments before it settled down once again. Instead, she'd raise her scarred fingertips to her chin as she pondered. "A crest hidden in the outskirts... I can't quite grasp it, but I get a sense of familiarity from it. I wonder..." Her mind began racing as she inquired internally of what it could be. She felt a distant sense of familiarity on the subject. A memory, just out of reach... Either from a lesson with her mother, or something mentioned once or twice in passing with her brother or aunt. The Lioncourts weren't a family without their mysteries, both prior to their light of nobility, and in the present day. Dropping her hand, she looked towards Garret with a distinct sense of eagerness. She may have had the slightest bit of a lead. "I have a bit of an idea, but, we won't make any progress standing and talking, now will we? I think it's best if we pick up where you left off; in the outskirts." Perhaps it was almost a tease, saying she had an inkling of an idea, but not sharing it. At least, not yet. Rather, she was finding herself rather eager to move forward on the idea of it. And if he was truly curious, he'd inquire more. If not, well, she'd likely announce it as it became relevant. Whatever the next course of action, she found herself ready for anything. A clear indicator of that was her reaching into her pockets, pulling out her bunched up leather gloves and silver rings that held a distinct blue glow. Perhaps today was proving to be more of an interesting birthday than she had anticipated. Though, she continued to leave that detail in the dark. It wasn't really important, was it?

'Always active.' He silently thought to himself. He could see, as well, her smile change to something else, perhaps a look of curiosity. That was mostly inferred due to the raising of her brow as well. He noticed her focus shift, where earlier it was on the books, to his words as...she seemed to give up organizing the pages correctly into the books. He hid a smirk at seeing it, knowing he could tease her on it if he chose to. She would turn to him, eyes full of curiosity, but would wait even though he felt like she desired to speak. Such was the way of the two; teasing yet courteous. Competitive yet respectful. An interesting blend of the two that always seemed to come out when they interacted. At this tease, he would see her roll her eyes and push the books. Causing his own smile to grow larger at her reaction as he felt rather satisfied by it. She would speak, matter of factually despite her revealing smile, about her about to take a lunch break. Garret merely gave her a disbelieving look, though his smile never faded. But she was not yet done speaking, so he would wait before he interjected with his own comeback. She would then jest, at least he assumed so, about him being impatient about their duel and beating around the bush. Both, to Garret, couldn't be farther from the truth in his case. Well at least the beating around the bush, as while patient, he had his own impatient moments. He merely shook his head with a rueful smile on his face, to silently deny such accusations and let her speak as she had let him. Especially with the satisfied smile on her lips, though she would let it drop soon enough and instead raise a scarred finger to her lip in thought. She didn't seem to quite know it, but claimed it was familiar at least.
Still content to not rush her, if only to prove he had patience from her earlier jest, he waited until she dropped her hand and gave him a look of eagerness. 'She seems to have an idea at least.' He thought to himself before she spoke. She claimed to have an idea, but that they should't waste anytime here talking and should get a move on already. "So eager, and moments ago you called me the impatient one." He would tease her lightly in return, seeing her take out her distinctive glove and rings. "But I agree. This is a matter I have wanted to complete for a while now, so we can travel and speak. Perhaps you'll tell me what this inkling you have is, and once we are done what you have been up to since we last met? You seem to have plenty of stories to share, and I shall have the time." He would respond with a confident smile, more serious now, and gestured for them to begin. Assuming she did begin to walk, he would as well besides her so they may converse.

The library was the designated building for the History & Culture class for today and was denying anyone not in the class entrance until the class was over. A small sign stood just inside the double doors directing students to go right after entering to a large presentation room. Aurtrox, the headmaster, was filling for today and he stood stately next to the table at the front of the room. He wore a beautifully white robe, with light gold threading. "Welcome!" He said as students started to pour into the room. He would take a small bite out of an apple and chew silently in between greeting new students. His demeanor was proper, yet relaxed, but his eyes had a steely gaze that scanned each and every student that walked in. It was reminiscent of what one would think was a judgmental gaze, but it was something more. Almost as if he was trying to decide how much each student weighed, or how much pain they could take before their mind and body gave up on them.
[15 Minutes later ▬ After all have arrived and settled in.]
"Thank you all for giving me the grand honor of being your instructor today. I am happy to see a variety of students. Some of you are nearly done with your journey at Beacon Academy, and some of you have just begun." Aurtrox paused, his gaze scanning the room, but not stopping on any particular group. "History & Culture class may sound like a boring class, but I assure you, it is anything but. History is what brings purpose to our lives, and culture, is simply the current reality we exist within. We will be taking a field trip through Vale today, but first, we need some context." Aurtrox took another bite of his apple with one hand, but his other reached into his robe and pulled out a device which he clicked once. A screen pulled out behind him and a projector on the ceiling flashed a presentation into their view. A video appeared showing images to reflect the topic, and a voice of some historian rang out:
"In the current day, most people live within the four Kingdoms - Vale, Mistral, Atlas and Vacuo. Through a combination of Human tenacity and the use of natural barriers, these settlements managed to survive and are regarded as "safe havens" and "beacons of hope" for Humanity. Small villages and nomadic communities do exist outside of the territories of the main Kingdoms, though they are noted as being far more vulnerable to Grimm attacks. This serves to emphasize that Remnant is not a particularly welcoming world.
Following the Great War, Huntsman Academies, such as Beacon Academy, were created to train Huntsmen and Huntresses, warriors whose sole purpose was to combat the Grimm using a combination of powerful weapons, Aura and Dust. In doing so, they protect those who cannot protect themselves from the dangers of Remnant."
Aurtrox clicked the video to pause. "This is an old clip from a history lesson over 30 years ago. As you all know, times have changed drastically over the several decades..." Aurtrox would make this short, but he wanted to touch on the main points before they got to the field trip portion of the day. He would start to speak eloquently, yet passionately about the events that have unfolded, but namely the fact that Mistral, the land of trees, fell roughly 30 years ago. And that the public record shows we don't know what has happened, but we can no longer get into contact with them, but it is suspected that a massive grimm invasion was what happened due to the significant growth of grimm over the last two decades preceding its fall. Vacuo was next. 15 years after Mistral, 15 years from today, the land of the survivors fell to the same fate. The last two kingdoms. Vale and Atlas were in constant communication, but then one day they also went dark. Each time a kingdom fell, survivors rushed to the other kingdoms. Vale, being the last kingdom was overcrowded. Slums had developed. Industrial areas once use purely for business had warehouses converted to host refugees and become marketplaces of their own. The world was fundamentally changed. "Did they all die? Is a common question asked, but no, we believe that each kingdom has found a way to survive. Atlas was known for its bunkers, Vacuo was always a nomadic land, and on the move it is possible to evade grimm. Mistral was large and prosperous as well. They might have been able to do both. That said, many innocent lives have been taken viciously. We can't know how many for sure, but every day, every week, every year we are unable to aid our fallen allies. We lose more lives. That is why we fight." It was a sad time to live in. That was for sure. Aurtrox was passionate about their mission to destroy the grimm though. "There are other theories out there though. Some think that the council is hiding information from the public, that there is something else out there that might be causing the downfall of civilization as we know it. Some believe in fairy tales, but most just think the grimm were left alone for far too long. Regardless, we must kill grimm to rescue our allies. Only then will we know what the true menace is, and only then will we conquer. I'll now open for questions as we prepare to leave on a walking tour of Vale." When Aurtrox aid fairytales his eyes seemed to glimmer for just a second, but it was hardly perceptible to the average student.
An airship's shadow would pass over the Library as it found a landing spot just outside. Aurtrox would motion for the students to start walking, but was ready to answer any and all questions they had. It was a rare opportunity to have the headmaster ready and able to answer their questions. Down the hall and out the doors one could see the large airship sitting the adjacent field ready to transport the students.
[Feel free to post questions, then walking to the airship and getting strapped into a seat. You can talk to other students if not asking questions.]

He was not one to be tardy or late, instead desiring to always try and be early. So in the event an unforeseen circumstance occurred, he would be their on time. Though he also had to get used to being on a team and that not all may be like him. He did his best to remain silent while getting ready himself, knowing some preferred to wait to have just enough time to be ready. Today he chose to don the school uniform; because of the dress code, though his was slightly altered just to have it a bit looser for his back. He had almost forgotten that he did not have the choice of attire; so often was class combat and combat uniforms were allowed. He also check to see if weapons were allowed; just in case, as many a class had a turn for the unexpected. Packing his weapons only if it were allowed to be brought along. He would take the time to feed his hound and have a light breakfast as well; not knowing how long this class would go for as it was being taught by the headmaster of all people. He felt partial excitement and anxiety at the thought of having a class run by him. Morning prep done, he would wait on his team...though if any seemed intent to take too long that they would be late, Chase would find ways to motivate them into getting ready. Once all was said and done, Chase would depart with his team to class; leaving his hound by the dorm as he wasn't sure if he would be allowed in class. A short walk would find the team in front of the library where they would have to verify they had class before being allowed in and following the signs. Looking around, feeling slightly at home in this maze of books, they would soon find where their class was to be and their professor. Wearing a white and golden robe by a table at the front, manner relaxed yet proper, Chase wondered why so many felt ill of the man. As he ate his apple though, Chase felt his gaze for a moment and his nervousness returned as he felt as if he was being weighed by the man. Eyes going downcast slightly. 'Perhaps...this is why.' He thought to himself as he focused on moving with his team.
After settling in, and all joining, Aurtrox would begin to speak. Chase listened intently, even if it were only the opening greeting, he still found the mans formality nice in saying it was his honor in teaching them. He would say how the class may sound boring, which Chase disagreed with as he had been looking forward to learning more of it, but that the class was anything but. 'It is good, despite only filling in, he knows the interest and value of the class.' Chase silently thought to himself. He did ponder about history bringing purpose to their lives, interpreting the meaning to be the actions of the past led to their own purposes and lives in the present...though he was unsure. At the mention of a trip through Vale Chase seemed slightly confused. 'I was looking forward to a class in here...Hopefully no incidents occur while in town.' He thought to himself silently. The last few times he had been in town things were alright at least...though he wondered if perhaps their trip may go by the clinic. Not that he could stop there or anything but...he wasn't sure if he would like the chance of seeing Dr. Lenz briefly or not. He would push such thoughts from his mind though and focus back in on the lecture. Aurtrox would take out a device Chase assumed to be like a remote due to it bringing a screen down and cause a video to begin playing. Immediately, Chase could tell the presentation was outdated as it spoke of the 4 nations as all still standing. A curious gaze would briefly go to Aurtrox before back to the projector; silently asking why play something no longer true. After a little bit, Aurtrox would pause the video and begin to speak again. He would explain how they would all know things have changed, and this was a purposefully old video. He would speak eloquently and passionately of how the nations fell but...that it was assumed Grimm though not for certain. 'Why are we not certain?' Chase wondered silently to himself. To many he came across, it seemed Grimm invasion was the reason as far as other believed. So he wondered why there was doubt there. He would keep such thoughts to mind as the presentation would move onto how Vale was taking in all the refugees and becoming overcrowded. He would then explain how those left behind may yet be alive, in different ways thanks to the environments of the fallen nations. Hearing of Atlas Bunkers, Vacuo nomads, and Mistral being a very big land.
Chase could understand why they couldn't go there, but was curious why this was seen as fact when spoken by Aurtrox but was not something many others believed. He could not tell if it was optimism or some unknown information. Or if it had been easier for everyone to believe all those outside Vale perished rather than remain isolated in those lands. He would go on to talk of other theories now and secrets suspected, but would dismiss it as theories and say no matter what they needed to kill the Grimm to learn the truth and rescue anyone left behind. He would then open things to questions as an airships shadow would fly overhead to a landing pad and he directed them all towards it. Chase felt he had a few questions but...for now he wanted to think it over if anything. Looking over to his team as they walked, he would speak. "What did...you all think of...the presentation and...the professor?" He would simply ask, a little shyly cause of how many other students were there.
Cecil had gotten the notification for history on his scroll and found out the location of the class, his eyes were wide before he got up. He was the first up and was shaking his teammates awake as he began to run off. "Come on! It's in the library! The best place in the school!" He told them with a smile as he ran off and used the stairs and elevators to navigate his way to the school library as he was the 2nd student to enter, he kept himself quiet as he looked to see the white haired duo of Chase and the man himself.... the School Headmaster Aurtrox. Cecil's heart stopped for a moment as he wasn't prepared for the headmaster to teach history, and swallowed hard, texting his allies as he walked to warn them ahead of time that the headmaster was teaching history. He took his seat at a table at the side of Chase rather than at the same table and watched as the other students came in. If his teammates were to file in, he'd wave them over to his table so they could stick together. 'This is a bit unnerving.... the man who cares little about our safety at times is teaching us history...' He mentally thought, trying to get it all together.
Once everyone had finally settled down, Cecil began to listen to him speak and the idea of a field trip through Vale for a history class did bring his left eyebrow to raise as he nodded his head. He placed a hand on his chin as his eyes narrowed while the voice of a historian spoke on a video he had apparently set up via a projector. After some time though he paused it to speak passionately about history as of now, how each of the kingdoms fell from Mistral to Atlas now, and that each kingdom soon had their own means of survival should things go wrong. It was indeed a small light in the darkness though but then he spoke about the council and how there could be some secrets they were not telling them. It was a reasonable doubt that cause Cecil to think before he soon opened himself up to questioning. Like every good student, Cecil's hand shot up till he was called upon. "If Atlas had bunkers for emergencies, wouldn't they also be using some older forms of communications like a radio to send signals for possible ways of assertaining help?" It was a reasonable question for the most technologically advance civilization Vale kept tabs on.
However, soon they were on their way to the airship to take their tour after he was done answering questions as Cecil was rubbing his chin. He looked to the white hair of Chase as he seemed to be discussing things with his own teammates. Cecil never met him formally and decided to approach slowly as he motioned his team to follow. "Hey, you okay there?" He asked, having broken more out of his shell as he was trying to check in on the shy Chase. "Name's Cecil of Team DARK.... what's your name?" He asked of Chase, introducing himself in hopes of calming him down.

XXXThere was just... So much to reflect on over the passing weeks, ever since the week of the water festival. So much that Yui herself had been once again absent for a short bit, in an attempt to come to terms about the events that unfolded that day she scouting the outskirts with Garret. It was all in good fun, a game to them to chase the curious dreams he had been having. Having spent so much time apart, especially given all the circumstances that led up to the water festival... Going on a mysterious adventure with someone so like-minded to herself was a breath of fresh air; reinvigorating. They told stories about themselves, both past and present, gaining a little more understanding about the inner workings of one another. What were either recent defining moments that began to shape her into the huntress she was meant to be, or former moments of anecdotal importance to compare, relate, and guide her from Garret's perspective? It was nice as if breathing new life into the young huntress who was now of age. ... Until they found what they were looking for. Something that was out of reach, even in her wildest dreams.
They found The Proving, a ceremonial location in her family's history that acted as a rite of passage, or coming of age. It was remarkable, still untouched by nature even after decades had kept it covered from man. But... They weren't the only ones there. In fact, someone had been waiting for them. A figure that lurked in Garret's dreams, one of which haunted Yui's deepest nightmares. It had been the White Crows, luring them into a trap of Lioncourt origin. The battle had been harsh, the weight of it all bearing intensely on her shoulders. Though both initially outclassed and outmatched inability, it was the fear of losing Garret himself to a cause of her own that let her push her limits. She wasn't going to lose him, not like her brother. Even with all the power, she harnessed, even pushing past her weakness and saving him from certain death... None of that gave her the strength to face the new threat that came at the end, one that she couldn't emotionally face. It was her brother, he was.. With them.
The event as a whole had taken a toll on the poor Lioncourt, in mind, body, and soul. The bad had far outweighed any semblance of good, as much as both helped her grow. Following the events, both her and Garret had to spend their fair share of time recovering. Both mentally and physically, to circumstance. She herself detailed with a litter of new, self-inflicted burns and an array of fresh scars. It wasn't the physical injuries that bothered her, aside from those inflicted on Garret. It was the nature of it all. The fear of encountering the crows brought to life. Nearly losing not only her own life, but that of Garret's. And witnessing the face beneath one of their masks... She had far more questions than ever before and not an answer in the world. Would her mother know? Her father? Even... Kendall? Something she had thought on frequently since that day, during her recovery. A faint memory rang in her skull, like that of a distant echo. A remark that Yui had once thought a pride-hurt feline spat in frustration in her defeat. That there was so much that she didn't know, that she had no idea what was going on right beneath her nose... Did Kenna know? Did Kenna know who hid beneath the mask of a White Crow, adorned with the wings of a Lioncourt?
It was a question that, unfortunately, had to wait. Neither Maria or Kendall had turned up since that day in the arena, and Yui was left to fester with thoughts so foul. ... But, she had other things she had to do. Obligations towards her team, requirements in classes, and her own phisque to maintain. She'd have to bide her time, and stay within academy walls, the only place she felt at all safe anymore. ... She only hoped that Garret, too, was keeping himself safe from these unknown dangers.
It was time that Yui went back to the basics, back to her classes with her team. This was the first time that her team would actually be present with one another for school; instead having been often split apart for various tasks as they unfurled. Unlike classes prior, some recognizable individuals had managed to slink their way into the library before the winter-winged faunus could. Her track record had officially been broken, but... She knew them, their presence bringing a faint smile to her lips. The first she had caught a glimpse of in passing was the one just before her, Cecil. He was a friend of Azura's, and she herself had very brief encounters in the man herself. .. Well, now that she thought about it... While she hadn't spent too much time with Azura, she was certain that there was something more going on within their relationship, even if Azura hadn't mentioned it to her. They seemed... Much closer to one another than most students, much like that pair she helped in Kail's office. The other, she had gotten a little more familiar with in their brief time together. His name was Chase, and he had a hound that she didn't know the name of. She owed the man a lot, and never had the opportunity to repay her debt, nor answer the questions he had asked her... Perhaps if circumstances presented themselves during this class, the two would finally have a chance to talk again so many months later. Yes... Their presence brought a faint smile to her lips, but also brought a not-so-foreign sense of anxiety, knowing that there was so much left unsaid.
Compared to students, her surprise with them was nothing compared to seeing the headmaster himself in the library. But, it was a pleasant one in her eyes. She admired the man, even after he pulled one over on her with the surprise visit from her mother during their last minute. In fact, she admired him so much that she still bore his pendant against her chest, her gift of heroics in the alpha cavern. .. How would he react noticing her wear it, she wondered. If he'd even acknowledge it at all. The main himself was dressed elegantly. She expected no less, from their brief meetings and his character as a whole. Their gaze would connect briefly as she entered the room; a look about him, one of observation and insight. He was reading them in some manner, but how, she could not decipher. ... So instead, she'd bow briefly at the man in acknowledgment, a greeting with a small bow, then dismissing her attention. This class was a different setting altogether, not dedicated to weapons or aura. It was one that she pertained a particular interest in, having once had very extensive but restrictive history lessons at the estate. She wondered more about the world, both past, and present, and felt it was best to start from the beginning. Their world, after all, was built on history. It was her most recommended course and took to convince the rest of the team with following her interest in the class.
It started off simple, with the headmaster giving quite a formal introduction of who he was and why he was here. Simply filling in for a teacher that wasn't able to make the part for one reason or another, but was assuring them there was much to learn in this class. That while others didn't like it, it held importance just like any other course. Though, admittedly, he had lost her when he said they'd be taking a field trip through Vale on this day. The very thought ruffled her feathers, causing them to fluff out and stand oddly on her wings. She... Was particularly uncertain about leaving academy grounds, even in a group setting. So uncertain, and anxious... Causing her a very visible display of distress, though she attempted to swallow the ball of nerves that swelled up in her throat. She could do this, she had to do this. There wasn't a choice in the matter. It was... Unlikely that anything would happen, with so many others around. Fingers curled tightly into her palm, gloved nails digging at leather-covered flesh. She couldn't hurt herself like in the past, but her grip was still mighty fierce, even with damaged nerves. From there, she'd try to ground her focus onto something else. The presentation at hand, one that quickly dated itself within the first line with the declaration of four kingdoms. In the current day, there was only one that held strong. It was all they had left. That was different in this presentation, one that had to be from decades ago... When her mother and father were still even in school, perhaps. Mention of the great war that seemed to be nothing more than a distant memory, barely even referenced in modern history. As many others were sure to wonder, why was aurtrox showing them this video now? What was the context that he was trying to instill into their minds?
Just as she thought, the video itself had to have been from her mother's school years. Perhaps even further back, predating even her time. It was hard to say, but one thing rang true... None of that was relevant to this current day in age, wear each of the nations had fallen to the grimm. At least, that was the widely accepted theory among a sea of other possibilities. "Much of Mistrall was known for steep, wind-carved cliffs... It's possible that survivors could've used those to their advantage as we do here in Vale." She mentioned quietly, likely to those only within earshot of her speculation. Every nation had its own strengths and weaknesses, both in their society as well as the ecosystem around them. Mistral and Vale in particular had it easiest with mountains, forests, and swamps. Nations like that of Atlas and Vacuo had harsh landscapes working against their own society, from bleak deserts and endless snowstorms. Thus, Vacuo's nomadic tendencies and Atlas' bunkers were designed to work with the nature of their ecosystems. Aurtrox pressed further, explaining that while we don't know the true cause of the downfall of the nation, that there were many speculations. One of which the council was hiding something from the public. That one, in particular, struck a chord in Yui, drawing out several thoughts about her mother and how she ran the military. .. With that, how her world had recently been turned upsidedown with the presence of crows. Honestly... As difficult as it was for her to wrap her mind around anything, she herself was now open to the thought of every possibility. Yui had also noticed a very particular detail, an expression in his gaze that almost... glimmered at the mention of something in particular. It wasn't the idea of grimm being left alone, no.. That was too obvious, nor did it fit his character. Perhaps it was the mention of fairytales and fables? .. It was true that many stories of make-believe stemmed from some stipulation of reality. Perhaps that's why some believed that was the case? ... Even in her own family, they had myths and legends that held true, and her family's supposed nemesis knew of them all too well. Which, when it was brought around for them to ask questions, Yui herself had one for the headmaster. Of course, she'd wait her turn, feeling that Cecil's more educated questions were more important than her own of the headmaster's personal thoughts. He raised a good point, that Atlas could've sent out some manner of a radio signal to reach Vale, but... Signals require a conduit, a tether... Something to transmit them... Hesitantly, her hand went partially up. "That's assuming their frequencies would reach us.. What if Atlas' communication tower had been obstructed in some way? .. If that was the case, then even if they were thriving, we'd all be in the dark until they could get it operational again." It was dark, but eye-opening thought. From what Yui had gathered in past history lessons, both in class as well as home, the towers were the key to it all. Before the towers had been established in each of the regions, there was no means to communicate with one another. It played key importance in bringing the nations together, so in that regard... If there are survivors, if they were trying to relay some manner of help or communication, it would all depend on the state of their tower.
.. Yui didn't mean to interrupt the questioning but felt that her input had some sense of value. That being said, she'd still refrain from saying anything else until his question had been acknowledged by Aurtrox [with her own two cents included], before raising her had for the headmaster to acknowledge. ".. If you're at liberty to say, I have a personal question on the matter. What is it that you believe was the cause of the great downfall, Headmaster? Be it the council sweeping something under the rug, a nation of grimm unnoticed, or certain fables that may pertain a little truth. We attend this academy in order to harness the skills to stop the grimm, but do you believe that there is something more to the fall of nations aside from them?" Yui had noticed in his speech that he often used the terms we, us, some, most. They weren't him specifically, he never really proclaimed what his personal feelings on the matter were. ... Then again, she also knew that sometimes due to the restrictions of the position, one wasn't at liberty to speak their true thoughts. Yui herself had been far too interested in her own question, and would even intend to walk by the headmaster's side towards the airship. Unless, of course, one of her teammates pulled her aside. While she was more than interested to learn, her teammates were important. Her pale gaze would noticeably begin to pan around, looking for a pair of white ears or colorkissed wings.

She wanted to know so much about the land her grandmother came from, Mistral. Her Nan didn't really speak much about it. Though, from the tidbits she'd heard, she couldn't really blame her. For once, she actually arrived early and not covered in paint, though, her heart skipped a beat when she saw the headmaster was teaching it. She and Yui had escaped reprimand from him so far, but, he was probably going to get to that fairly soon. She still didn't understand why she was in trouble though. Not that the punishment issued by the Commander had been very impactful. She'd never intended to enlist.
Taking a seat, she waited as others piled in Before long, the lesson started with them being told they'd be taking a field trip followed by an old presentation. He didn't even need to pause to explain it was old, the information was fairly obviously outdated. It...wasn't terribly interesting ...though, she supposed it served well as an introductory bit into the class. When it was done, the Headmaster spoke in general about what was the common consensus about the survivability of the other kingdoms as well as theorizing on what happened. She cocked her head, confused. Sure, maybe from Atlas or Vacuo, she couldn't speak for them, but, her Nan had been there when Mistral fell. Did none of the refugees say what they saw? She'd seen Yui tense up when the trip was mentioned, and after the presentation, her Captain voiced some theories about how they might have survived in Mistral before asking the Headmaster what his thoughts were about what had happened. Really? No one knew? She apologised to her Nan internally before sheepishly raising her hand as the group made their move to head out.
”Umm...sorry...but...We have hundreds of refugees from Mistral. How can no one know? Surely someone musta said somethin? I ain't got much in the way o' details cuz it never seemed right ta ask her...but...My Nan were there when Mistral, the capitol itself fell. She's the one who started my trainin ta be a huntress. I...I don't know how famous she was overseas, but, she were pretty well known in Mistral. Valkyrie. Though, she 'ad Ma by then so, she was about ta retire ta teachin at the Academy. Lot of folks got out because she helped them evacuate. But...I've heard her mumble in 'er sleep bout a person ridin in on a Wyvern before hordes o' Grimm ran through the city, attckin everythin. Ma said she'd been havin' night terrors about it fer years...though, they been gettin less frequent. I ain't sure how much she'd remember by now though. --------- Today was a very important day for Poppy, she was to be in the same room as the one person she had been seeking for weeks now. She would gather her things with the rest of her team, fixing her wings as much as she could to make sure she looked presentable for the day. Once at the class, Poppy would stare at the headmaster as though her life depended on it, her head would tilt as she listened to the history of the world. "All of this has been happening... and I've never even been aware.." she would think to herself, feeling very disappointed that she had missed out on so much of the world due to her being in a cage or a slave for majority of it. Her bright white wings would flow at her back, the looks she received from others at her broken wing would still never feel comfortable for her, she would hold her arm as she remained close to her team, especially Roq - who she knew most likely wouldn't be paying the slightest bit of attention.
Poppy would see other students asking Aurtrox questions, he was a gentle soul, yet she couldn't help but feel a bit odd about him. She would stare at his wings and his white appearance, was it a coincidence that Edward wanted her to seek him in particular out? Chase would then bring Poppy back to the current time, asking the team what they thought. The nervous swan would clear her throat before looking around, and then back with a slightly awkward smile. "Well.. the presentation was okay? The professor has a lot of knowledge.. he seems very warm. What do you think Chase?" she said, not wanting to admit that she had very little knowledge of the worlds history. As they were talking, another student introduced himself as Cecil of team DARK. He would introduce himself to Chase, Poppy would smile warmly towards him, an introvert herself. "I'm Poppy, from team RCPT.. nice to meet you!" she would say, as she looked to the rest of her team.
"When is the right time..." she would think to herself as she continued to send stares at the headmaster. "Not yet.." she would think to herself as she attempted to focus on the conversation with her team again, this was going to be a difficult few hours of turmoil for the swan.
TEAM: RPCT WEAPON/PROFILE: Stabby, Jabby, and Tabby~! Tabby is at this place!!!!: Classs of historyyyy Tabby is with this person!!!!: Mutey boyo Chase! Pretty Girl poppy!! SUSPICIOUS HUMAN SPICY BOY ROQ, OTHER PEOPLE Tabby is doing this!!!!: Entering Class~! Talking~! OOC: //////////////////////////// Whhhaaaaaaaat!? Tabitha had been looking forward to classes for a long while. Weapons! Aura! Something where stabbing things and cooking yummy fish could be plausible! It was finally her first class, and with her team, she was super excited. That was... Until the class they had been stuck with. HISTORY!? The young red head had been fuming in a pout that day, taking all her frustration out by cleaning the room until she was calmed. "Why such a class!! There's no stabbing~! There's no faunus hugging!!! Too saddening!! Tabby cannot bear to learn the savage hardliners of the faunus!! Why!!! If Tabby had been there, she would have beaten every spicy human till the faunus were as free as the wind, and all can be happy!!" Having been thinking on such a thing all throughout the rest of their time of resting, even that very morning, she was on repeat. only being lured out that doorway by Chase and his poochy. Whatever thy did they were good at convincing the stubborn to budge! Why was he so excited for history though!? He wasn't an old fart!Maybe the teacher was secretly an old human fart, who smelt like farts!! The thought was almost enough to make her hide in their room for the remainder of the time. However, when they had got into the classroom, the whole directional negativity had shot through to a positive streak. "WE ARE BEING TAUGHT BY AN ANGEL MAN!!!! HE AIN'T NO OLD FART!!!!! History!!! You have lied to Tabby!! 300 spanks of future on your past negative behaviour!!! Trickery is a nono!!!" To be greeted by the headmaster no less, she had settled down from the stare he was giving the students. "Is... Is he planning on eating u afterwards?" Speaking to Roq or Poppy, she suddenly grew worried that she was about to be a fish on a stick!
Through that 15 minute interval, it had been wasted on her vitality, with a whole lot of resistance towards going up, and touching the headmaster's wings. From where they were sitting, they looked extremely delightful to pet, and those feathers had a softness to them, that made her wonder if they were like pillow feathers!!! That was the honest joy of a fan girl of all faunus in a room taught by a faunus. Autrox could at least ensure something away from just the textbooks and writing, soon after the lecture. The lecture itself though... had of course... Started with a movie that almost had her falling asleep. "WAAHHHH!!!!! Too confuzzlingocious!" This girl hated confusion! Had this not been a room full of people, she would have exploded some fish pheramones to run away! Momma would get a call if she did that though.... The thought of all those spanks had her shudder. "Nooo!!! Tabby is a good girl no spanks!" The odd things was... One thing had actually stuck to her. Explanation on safe havens and nomadic villages around the four major cities had hit nostalgia. She herself had once been in the outskirts of one of these villages, near the waters edge of the agricultural district of Vale. Such flooding memories had her attention, with silence an odd characteristic. Even as the lecture had ended, she had remained unusually quiet... Until the sounds of a new stranger had approached Chase, followed by the familiar winged pretty girl from the Alpha mission. To Yui, she had opened up and squealed in delight. To Cecil, her happy face had dropped faster than how a boarbatusk could run! She looked from Cecil, to Chase, than to Poppy, and back again, before she had settled for dquinting at him. "He a faunus or a spicy boyo!?" She had been about to ask, though Chase had began asking how those closest to him had thought of the class. "Angel man headmaster is so cool! He's not an old fart! The movie had no romance or comedy though, nd no fishies on a stick. It had reminded Tabby of home though! That is.... Horribly uncomfaaaaaatable!!" With a heavy sigh, Tabitha had went on planting her head to the desk, creating a muffled sound close to a whine.
Autrox's voice had changed up the news, once all the questions had been done. The moment she had heard they were touring Vale after all of this lecture in the library, there was no stopping the energetic girl from clapping her hands like crazy. "Yippie!!" Truly wonderful!! They were going to go on a field trip!? Tabitha had been about to ask, but the cascading shadow overhanging the light of the library had her looking up in a mystified squeak. "WoooWOWWWWWOWWWWW!!!!"

Rσϙ Oυɾɾσƙ didn't always hate mornings, sometimes he was cheerful, sometimes he wasn't, and today he was damn tired. "just seventeen more minutes..." He would mumble before falling back to sleep. "No, no! Stay away turtles..." He would swipe with his hand as if to fend off the turtles in his dreams. "It's mine, my shrine... go away...you can sleep in the pond...". Eventually he would wake due to the noise of his teammates getting ready. When he did awake he had no recollection of his dreams though. He would look around dazed for a moment and sit on the edge of his bed as he allowed his body to come to. His brows furrowed in anger. He wasn't even sure why he was angry, but it likely had something to do with his dream.
He would look up to see his teammates getting ready. It was still so awkward sleeping with a group of others. Though he didn't feel they were strangers, it still felt strange. Tabby was dreading the idea of History class it seemed. He wasn't too happy either on the subject. "Tabby, I agree, let's do a class where we get to shoot and stabs things next.". Finally, something they had in common. Nonetheless they would don their school uniforms and be up and out the door and on the way to school. Roq half in a dazed manner for the first part of the walk, but for the second half he was finally energized and himself, he walked with enthusiasm blissfully unaware of who was teaching their class.
Roq made a mental note to set an alarm for bedtime so he could be more ready in the future. At least he got up and ready as to not cause his teammates to be late. When they arrived and he saw Aurtrox his eyes narrowed. Tabby asked them if Aurtrox was planning on eating them, an odd question, but from the look Aurtrox gave everyone and how her mind worked, it was certainly more reasonable than a few of the other options. "Big-bird bad." He whispered under his breath as he took a seat next to his teammates, maybe Tabby would catch it. He owed a lot to Aurtrox, but he also hated his guts. The man was manipulative and controlling. At least, that is how Roq felt. But he was also the man who pushed Roq to be with his team, so he did have that to be thankful for. But he still hated the man. He couldn't help but notice how Poppy looked at the man though. She was fascinated. There was no other word to describe her attention. He would sigh, what did she see in him- Then he noticed. They both had similar looks to them, their pale skin, their wings. He wondered what that was about. His posture would slowly loosen as the class went along. He wished any other teacher was here.
He would listen carefully for the first few minutes, but then his mind started to drift. He normally could pay attention, but he just couldn't stand looking at big-bird's dumb face. Roq rolled up his notebook and held it up to his face like a telescope. Spying in on an outlet at the far wall. He would silently entertain himself until the lecture was over and they were told to head to the ship, or ask questions. The latter he did not plan to do. Chase turned to them all and asked what they thought. Roq qould listen to Poppy's answer first. Sort of a cope out answer, but he didn't have much of an opinion himself. Besides this one: "I think the council is full of crap, and that there is a lot they aren't telling us, that's what my Ma and Pa always said at least." Roq would exclaim with a tone of less than full confidence as he made his way down the hall and out to the grounds in front of the library. They would all board the airship in a neat line as they spoke. "In the end all we can do is fight for our lives and the lives of others." He would finish flatly.
Their conversation was hi-jacked by a guy named Cecil though who spoke to Chase. Poppy awkwardly introduced herself even though Cecil was directing his conversation to Chase. Tabby was excited for the newcomer, but she was also obsessed with the Headmaster. What was going on? He found this to be an opportune time. Roq would then turn to Poppy. "Okay, so what's up with you and the Headmaster? Is he your long lost uncle or something?" Roq said somewhat jokingly. Hoping she wouldn't say she had a crush on him or something like that. Never knew what went through a gal's mind.
